Poem #21: The Two Hearts
#21 of Poetry
Contrast of love and rejection, and how the heart bears through and suffers from both.
The Two Hearts
- The Heart
The heart is broken
It lies in pieces
With words unspoken
Its love never ceases
Love's a hateful thing
It spites and scorns
To love we cling
Without which we're never born
Blood which hate adores
Blood that comes from the heart
Liquid love from the body pours
Love until death, as a start.
- The Broken Heart
Love 'til death, for a start.
Liquid love from the body pours:
Blood that comes from the heart
Blood which hate adores
Without which we are never born.
To love we cling
Which spites and scorns
Love is a hateful thing.
With love never ceasing
With words never spoken
It lies in pieces:
This heart is broken.
