Kalen whimpered, slowly sinking to his furred knees - expecting some horrific beast from his darkest nightmares to suddenly pounce and end his young life there and then - but his eyes snapped open and he screamed in terror, as a warm nose briefly touched the back of his nape - and he heard the unmistakable sound of....something...breathing.

"Please...please don't hurt me - " Kalen wailed like a fawn, tears streaking down his cheeks as he cowered piteously.

A sound come from behind him, like something taking a half step - then the nose nuzzled again, and Kalen's heart skipped a beat. His tail frizzled like he'd suffered an electric shock, he threw himself forwards onto the ground and clawed at the soft loam, squeezing his eyes closed and waiting for the end to come, however it may....

Lying there for a few moments, he heard nothing, then there was a gentle snort, followed by the nose once again sniffing this strange buck, who lay shivering on the ground, terrified beyond anything he had ever known.

"Please..." Kalen moaned.

Curiously, the nose nudged him, then he felt hot breath on his nape and a gentle nibbling at his hair, which was tugged painfully, before being spat out. Not knowing what to make of it, Kalen slowly twisted his neck, then out of the corner of one watering eye, he seen his 'attacker'...and his mind fell away.

Standing over his splayed legs, a Whitetail doe stood, her eyes dark pools of night as she flicked her ears curiously, before lowering her head and sniffing him again.

"You...what..." Kalen moaned, as his eyes widened. "You..."

With a snort, the doe leapt backwards, her posture one of intent alertness as she stared at him.

"Hey...err..what - " Kalen whispered, as his mind tried to make sense of what he was seeing.

With another snort, the Doe blinked, then as if sensing this frightened buck was no immediate threat, she took a shy half-step towards him stretching her neck out and sniffing his legs. Kalen knew deer lived in these woods, he'd never seen one, but he had often found where they'd bedded and such the night before...he had never dreamed he would ever see one - let alone one this close. Laying as still as he could on his belly, he could only keep one eye on the doe, who flicked her ears, then nipped a tender young leaf off a shrub and began chewing it, continuing to stare at him.

"You...I mean - " Kalen whispered, trying to be as non-threatening as possible, so as not to frighten her.

Her ears pricked forwards at him, and she stopped chewing the leaf, as she trembled - obviously just as scared and timid as he was - was he a threat? Was he going to offer her food, as others had done? Her mind rolled with possibilities, but foremost was the instinctive urge to flee back into the dark woods. Kalen cautiously pulled his feet up, curling into a ball as he watched the doe, who gazed back, then she bleated - an almost questioning sound, before nipping another leaf off and resuming chewing slowly. They stayed almost within touching distance of each other for half an hour, before the cold loam on which he lay, forced Kalen to try and get up - which frightened the doe and she instinctively backed off, leaving a respectable distance between them.

"Hey...it...its okay - " Kalen spoke quietly, as he pulled himself into a kneeling position, holding out his paws, the furred palms facing upwards.

Curious, the doe crept closer and closer, until she was near enough for Kalen to touch, and he held his paws out to her - surprised as she snorted, then sniffed them, before looking back at him and flicking her ears.

"I...I don't have anything - " Kalen told her, as he resumed glancing at her - not making direct eye-contact, for fear of frightening her off.

With another of those strange bleating sounds, she stepped closer again - then began sniffing his wrists, her eyes locked onto his every movement, as she began inspecting this strange creature. She had seen plenty of humans - although she could not tell one apart from another. Some had frighted her, some had given her odd food to eat, she did not know what the humans called it. Some was soft and easy to chew, like the occasional bark she would strip from a young sapling, other stuff was almost bitter - but quite sweet, a confusing contradiction for her, as it started off quite tart on her tongue, and she would nearly spit it out, then as she chewed, it released a faint sweet juice, that she secretly come to quite like, but the skin on it was rather unpleasant.

Kalen did not know what to make of this enigmatic whitetail doe, who sniffed his paws and wrists, then come a fraction closer and leaned her head close to his chest, before sniffing him - the look in her eyes a mixture of fear, confusion and curiosity - before she experimentally nibbled his shoulder.

"Hey...ow - that hurt!" Kalen gasped, flinching at the doe's bite.

She squealed and leapt away, standing and quivering in fear, her tail bolt upright like a flag as she went back to staring.

"Please....please don't go - I...I'm sorry, I didn't mean too frighten you - " Kalen moaned, as he settled and held his paws out to her again.

Was it something in his voice? Something in this strange creatures scent? The doe did not know, but she cautiously come back, then nuzzled his paws, before sniffing his chest, shoulders and neck, her ears flicking furiously, as she fought the instincts to flee back into the woods, but compelled to stay, too investigate the strong musk scent that had brought her here. He was no Whitetail buck - she could see that for herself - yet his scent was very similar - not quite the same, but the strong musk smell that still clung to his fur in places...shaking her head to clear it, the doe snorted and stood, confusion consuming her. A part of her mind said this was a buck - another part of her mind was adamant he was not...but the musky scent...other indicators pointed too him being quite a dominant stag...but he was not and yet...

Kalen did not know what made the doe stay, it was obvious she was torn between fear and confusion, her nose sniffing him here, there, almost everywhere from his chest up to his ear tips, and as she breathed against the fine hairs of his ears, he giggled nervously and trembled, making her pull her head back and stare at him.

"What...what do I do - " Kalen moaned, resting his paws on his thighs as he tried to be as still as possible, the doe slowly walking around him, then sniffing his back.

She walked back around to the front of him, then lowered her head and sniffed his belly, making Kalen gasp, before he twitched and the doe flinched, but pricked her ears forwards then sniffed him again, a little lower. As she smelt the now long-cold semen spattered on his lower belly, she frowned - then hesitantly licked, getting only the faintest taste. Kalen gasped and trembled, feeling the warm breath of the doe and her even warmer tongue, before she lifted her head and her brain tried to make sense of the scent and taste. Again, her mind turned on itself, saying this...this thing - wasn't human, she knew what humans smelt and tasted like...but he wasn't a stag either. He didn't have the heavy musk scent of the Whitetail's oil glands they used for scent marking their territory - but her tongue was telling her it was definitely a stag...she had licked enough of herself clean before, to know what an inexperienced buck was capable of...

"Can...can I please - " Kalen whispered fearfully, then held his paws out to the doe, whose ears flicked backwards.

She shivered as his fingertips lightly touched her chin, then he moaned, feeling her warm fur. With a soft snort, the doe twitched by didn't pull away - a few humans she had met, had occasionally pet her whilst feeding her sweet food - and maybe - this one had some hidden on him, and she would get a reward?

"Oh...you're so soft and warm - " Kalen gurgled, his furred fingers tenderly stroking her cheek.

His gentle touch went a long way to winning her trust, and she snorted gently then took a half-step forwards, until his fingers touched her neck. Standing as still as she could, but still very timid, she let Kalen begin stroking her neck and throat - his furred fingers so much nicer than the fur-less one's the humans had pet her with - their scent often making her nearly sick - as some had very unpleasant smells, which the doe didn't like - she could not say what emotion it was - but the scent was unpleasant and made her cautious. Yet this strange stag's scent was, understandably, afraid - something had frightened him terribly, and his strong urine stink still clung to his thighs and legs - but she sensed no immediate threat from him, if anything - his semi-familiar smell was slowly calming her timid nature, and his gentle touch was not unpleasant.

Growing bolder, Kalen began stroking the doe's strong forelegs, watching for any sign she was growing afraid of him, but he soon learned what she would tolerate, and what she would not. He kept his paws up around her neck and shoulder, carefully stroking and feeling the quivering muscles beneath the fur. She did not mind being stroked and petted - within very tight tolerances, most times, but his scent still intrigued her, particularly the strong musk she could still smell - but was not brave enough to take her eyes off this strange buck to investigate. A part of her mind seemed to sense he was a buck in his prime breeding age - but where was his antlers? Where were his forelegs - so much of it confused the young doe and she did not understand, but just shivered and let him continue petting her shoulder.

Kalen began to shiver, as the night breeze began to pick up, and he remembered he was as naked as the day he'd been born - parts of him still wet and sticky from his pleasuring himself with his toy before...and if he didn't get warmed up soon, he had no doubt he'd get a cold. Carefully, he sidled backwards on his rump away from the doe, who stood and blinked, her ears flicking forwards, as he made a six foot distance between them - then cautiously stood and shivered, wrapping his arms around his chest.

"I'm getting cold...and hungry - I...oh, this is silly, you don't understand a word I'm saying too you, do you?" Kalen sighed the looked at the doe, who cocked her head to one side.

Kalen made a gentle shooing gesture with his fingers, before he cautiously backed away from the doe, expecting her to turn and flee back into the forest, but she just stood and sniffed where he had been kneeling, then lifted her head and stepped closer.

"No...no, go on...go away - " Kalen whispered, and made the gesture again.

Confused, the doe paused, one foreleg lifted and she froze like a statue, not understanding the gesture, but more interested in this strange buck. Again, she sniffed where he'd knelt, then sniffed the damp loam where his urine had landed, before flicking her ears and taking a cautious step closer to him.

"No, go on...go...go home or something - " Kalen moaned, his eyes widening as she stepped closer again. "I...you...you can't come with me - I don't know who you belong too, but I - "

Again, the doe stepped closer, then reached out her long neck and sniffed at his belly - then as the startled Kalen gasped, she sniffed his furred sheath, before snapping her head up and snorting, her ears flicking backwards.

"Oh...no...no, stop that!" Kalen gurgled.

Sniffing the air, the doe noticed this buck's scent had changed, when she had sniffed his groin. It was uncommon for a doe to do this to a buck, but it was not unknown - and she was genuinely curious. She had tasted the semen on his belly, had sniffed his urine and even though he was unlike any buck she had ever seen before - a niggling part of her mind reminded her he seemed to be a stag in prime mating condition, his scent weak, unlike the almost reeking of a normal stag - but she had searched the woods for over a year, only finding young, barely spiker, stags - and she had rejected their attempts at courtship - but this one...this...whatever it was...it smelt like a strong, masculine buck - didn't look like one - but certainly his sexuality wasn't a question...and she stepped closer, then nuzzled his belly again, reaffirming her beliefs - before she squealed and Kalen pushed her backwards.

"No!" He squealed, backing up against a tree and shuddering, not knowing what was on this doe's mind, but he knew they did bite...and didn't want to risk it.

With a slow blink, the doe paused, confused by this stag. He had mated, and recently - she could tell - yet he pushed her away, as some humans had done...and when she had tried to get closer, some had slapped her and then frightened her away, and this stag was following a similar movement. She bleated at him, then stepped closer, almost apologetic in her nuzzling of his paws, as she rubbed her head and ears gently beneath them - as if trying too apologise for something. Kalen was now totally confused - this strange doe had come from out of the woods - where he'd never seen one before - she was, at least partially, semi-domesticated - after all he reasoned - how many wild deer would let you pet them? His mind tried to make sense of it all, when suddenly, she pressed her muzzle to his belly and her long tongue licked a sticky swatch of fur, and she quivered noticeably, then uttered a barking cough like sound, he'd never heard in his life.

To the doe, she was confused, a part of the stag's scent said he was scared - of what, she did not know - another part, faint at first, then growing stronger and stronger, indicated he was becoming interested - but he was not beginning the usual whitetail courtship ritual. He wasn't nuzzling under her tail, following her around, licking her urine to determine her closeness to her season..none of it - but the scent of musk was slowly growing - he was definitely interested...and she knew, a sexually aroused male was a real problem - as they were quite insitant and irritating for a doe who didn't want too mate with that particular stag. She was only a fairly young doe, having mated six times in the last three seasons - often with young stags, some in her honest opinion, very young - barely breeding age - and five times not falling pregnant with fawn, the last - she had miscarried the fawn after a few months...

She had found a stag - or as close to a dominant, strong male, as she'd ever met...and she was very close to prime mating conditions. She had been in season two days already, and outrun six young bachelor stags, who wanted to breed her - but she was not ready - not yet, and they had not exactly impressed her with their antlers or body size.... Now, confused and not comprehending, she nuzzled his belly again, then bleated at him, her tail slowly rising like a flag, before she quivered, expecting something from him....
