#24 of Tora

Here's the new chapter guys. I actually finished it last saturday, but I wanted to give you guys some time to flock back here once the new site was up. Good news over here! I'm getting better at skateboarding. Pretty soon I'll be doing ollies and kickflips of some stairs... well, maybe not that just yet, but I plan to do something by the end of next month. Anyway, I'll let you all get to reading and, hopefully, enjoy yourselves. I hope I did a good job. Remember, Batman says that comments and votes are welcome and appreciated.

**********8**********

The blazing sun was high in the sky, not a single cloud in sight to protect the group of young travelers from its harsh rays. To say 'it was hot outside' would be an understatement. It reached the triple digits and the warm front that was almost constantly blowing in their faces didn't make anything better. In fact, Alice let Kishan walk with them just so he could spray them with water every now and then. Eventually though, the heat got to him as well and she was forced to call him back. The last stretch before reaching Cerulean City was just that, a stretch. It was just an open plain with no chance of relief under the shade of trees or the coolness of water.

Their throats were completely dry with thirst, not having had a drink of water in hours. It didn't help that Alice was complaining every five minutes about it being hot and that she was sweating through her clothes or at least it felt like every five minutes to Chris. He wasn't to keen about the heat either, but he had kept it to himself. He didn't want to be another whiner in the group. It also had something to do with being a guy and sucking it up. Tora was constantly panting, yet Aaron was the only one who didn't show any discomfort. Chris was beginning to wonder if the feline felt anything at all.

Once they arrived at Cerulean City, Alice led them the quickest route she knew toward the pokémon center. Neither Chris nor Tora really bother in taking in the sights of the city or the suburban area they passed through to get there, only focusing on making it to their destination. From what they did notice, the streets were moderately crowded, not nearly as crowded as back home in Viridian, but almost just as many cars passing by. Before Chris knew what hit him, the sound of sliding doors and the rush of cool air hut his face. The sweat on his brow and neck instantly cooled and felt less annoying than it did a second ago. For a moment, he thought he was on another planet.

"Thank Arceus, we finally made it," Alice groaned happily. For the first time today, Chris didn't actively tune her out. "I almost didn't think we'd make it."

"Same here," Chris agreed. "I'd do anything for a drink right now."

"Let's get checked in first." They approached the front desk and checked themselves and their pokémon in. Tora was immediately given a small cup of water and was carted off in the back with the rest of the pokémon. Aaron went in the back with her. With everything taken care of, both Chris and Alice opted to take a rest in their rooms.

As soon as Chris got to his room, he tossed all his stuff on the floor and crashed on his bed with an exhausted sigh. As tired as he was, he couldn't help thinking about how he was going to face his next gym battle. He knows the gym leader is a water type specialist, so he'd definitely be using Tora if he wanted a type advantage. She was a decent swimmer, considering she had short limbs. So if the battlefield was over water or something, which makes total sense to him, he doesn't have to worry about her being in danger if she falls in the water.

If the gym battle was going to be another two-on-two battle, his second choice was a little harder to make, but not because of anything really important. Actually, it was important, but the reason behind his indecisiveness made it seem unimportant. It made sense for him to use Lani in this next battle. He hasn't seen her swim, but with her being a dratini, he assumes that she a natural swimmer. Not only that, but she should stand on even ground with any water type she faces with the moves she knows. She's the perfect choice.

Then again, he wanted to get Kaden trained up more as well. Even if the bug hadn't been with them for very long, Chris could tell that with some more training, the heracross would be the strongest member of the team in terms of physical power. He was sure that Kaden would be able to take and deal all sorts of damage to his opponents, but if he were to somehow get knocked into the water, Chris wasn't sure if the beetle would be able to get out of the water. That fact alone was what he was stuck on.

"Would it be worth the risk?" he asked himself. He checked the clock next to his bed. "I've been here for five minutes and I haven't even gotten a drink." Chris got up and went straight to the bathroom to quince his thirst, simply drinking right out of the sink for now. He exited the bathroom when a thought suddenly struck him. He hasn't phoned his parents to tell them about his journey so far. "Aw man, I hope they're not too worried about me. I should've called before I left Pewter city." Luckily, there was a phone in the room right next to his bed. He went over, picked up the receiver, and dialed the house number. It rang a couple times before someone finally picked up.

"Hello?" said the feminine voice on the other side of the line.

"Hey, mom, it's your most favorite son in the world, Chris."

"Oh, hi baby!" Angela squealed. "Your father and I were so worried about you and Tora. Where are you two now?"

"We're at the pokémon center in Cerulean City now. Tora's getting a little check-up right now, nothing serious." He added the last part quickly.

"Cerulean city? Why didn't you call earlier? You could've saved us some heartache."

"Sorry, it sort of... slipped my mind," he laughed. "I already got my first badge in Pewter and I'm going to try for my second."

"Really? I'm so proud of you! Hold on, let me get your father real quick." A small thud in his ear told Chris that his mom put the phone down. He could hear some faint talking in the background. A few moments later, his dad picked up the phone.

"Congratulations!" Marcus said. "Already working on your second badge, eh? You're working pretty fast out there."

"I guess you could say that. I even caught a heracross on my second day out," Chris replied proudly.

"Well aren't you the trainer of the year," Marcus teased. From there on, Chris told both his parents, having been put on speaker, of all his time out in the world. He told them everything, from the meeting of Alice, up to their latest venture on Mt. Moon. Of course, he left out the part of being suspected in kidnapping a pokémon. He didn't want them to get any more worried about him. There was some teasing from them about him traveling with a girl, but he quickly squashed all their accusations.

"Well, it sounds like you're having fun out there," Angela said. "Just make sure to call us more often."

"I will, mom. I'm gonna be an awesome trainer by the time I come back home. I'll call you guys after I get my next badge."

"Oh, before you hang up," Marcus quickly said. "There's something we need to talk about." Chris felt a surge of panic in his chest. "There was someone looking for you a couple days ago." That really caught his attention.

"Someone was looking for me?"

"Yeah, a real young guy. He was at least a foot taller than you and looked to be in his early twenties. He came here asking if you were around. Now, I know you couldn't have possibly met and told anyone so much older than you where you lived, so are you in any kind of trouble that we should know about?"

"Uh... No, nothing that comes to mind."

"Are you absolutely sure? We can't have random people coming to our home asking about you, especially if you're not even here."

"I'm sorry about that guys. I'll see if I can get to the bottom of that. Love you." Chris didn't even wait for their answer when he hastily hung up the phone. His mind didn't register the fact that he hung up on his parents, something that might come to haunt him later. There was only one person who has any reason to be looking for him. "Why the heck is that guy looking for me?" he asked himself. As far as Chris knew, Chad didn't want anything to do with him, aside from utterly wanting to 'crush him and his pokémon into oblivion the next time he sees him'. He couldn't think of a reason as to why Chad would be actively seeking him out, unless... "Lani..." he concluded. "She's the only link between us, so... That would mean that he's probably coming to take her back. But... he pretty much abandoned her, dumped her on me no less, and didn't even look back. There's no way he would want her back."

"What makes you so sure of that?"

"Snap!" Chris exclaimed as he sharply turned around to the source of the voice, feeling like his heart shot out his chest. There sat Aaron on the bed, tail waving slightly behind him and staring at Chris with slight amusement. "Knock much?!"

"Only when I want something," the psychic joked, giving Chris a moment to calm down. "Back to my question, what makes you think Chad wouldn't want Lani back?"

"I don't know. He didn't seem to care about her at all when he abandoned her... and that was after he tried to force her to fight Tora when she could barely lift her head up. He couldn't care less about her."

"Then why would he be looking for you?"

"I don't know. Maybe he really wants to crush me in a battle or something."

"I think we both know it's not as simple as that. Would you actively search for someone just to prove that you were better than him?"

"Uh... No, not really," Chris sighed.

"Then we can only conclude that it has something to do Lani. Whatever the reason is, you now have someone looking for you. You can't take this lightly, but the real question here, is what you are going to tell Lani." Chris stood dumbfounded at what Aaron was saying. "Don't look at me like that. Doesn't she have the right to know that her former trainer is looking for her?"

"Well... yeah, but what if he does find me and takes her back, only to start mistreating her and undoing everything I've taught her. She'd just be going back to her old life and I don't want that for her. She's a nice girl and... she deserves better than that." Chris watched Aaron seem to think over what he said. It sort of unnerved him how the psychic stared at him while doing it, like he was analyzing him for any false feelings in his statements.

"Well, if that's how feel..." Aaron finally said with a shrug as he hopped off the bed. "I won't say anything to her either. Just don't forget about what keeps her going everyday." Before Chris could ask him what he meant, Aaron quickly added. "Everyone is ready downstairs. You should hurry if you want to actually see about having your gym battle today."

"Uh... right." Chris thought the whole conversation was strange. That was the most formal Aaron has ever been around him. Even so, he mulled over what the psychic said as he made his way to the lobby downstairs.

"Sorry, kids, we can't let you in," a security guard said.

"Why not?" Alice asked.

"The show's still going on inside and there won't be a point in going in there now."

"A show?"

"Yeah, a show. Can't you read the sign here?" Chris and Alice looked up to the rather large sign with colorful letters hanging over the doors to the Cerulean Gym.

"How did we miss that?" Chris asked out loud to no one in particular.

"I don't know. How'd you not see the other two you just passed? There were even flyers all over the city." the guard replied. Sure enough there were sides behind them that they somehow failed to notice. Chris chalked it up to them just being tired of being in this heat. The sign read: The Sensational Sisters! Performing live for Today only! Show times: 11:00am & 2:00pm. Under all that, there was "Sold Out" written in big red letters.

"So, can we go in after the show?"

"Nope. The gym's closing after the show to clean the pools. No one's allowed inside until tomorrow." There was a collective groan among everyone, except for Aaron.

"Great, what do we do now?" Chris asked. Alice thought for a moment before she got a great idea.

"Oh! Let's go to the water park!" she shouted with excitement.

"A Water Park?"

"Yeah, it'll be so much fun!"

"But I don't have any swimming trunks."

"We'll get you some, now c'mon!" Alice forcibly led Chris by the arm to the nearest department store, Tora and Aaron following behind.

The group spent a surprising amount of time looking for the perfect trunks for Chris. Well, Chris didn't think it was that surprising. He knew from experience that shopping with a girl for the simplest things could end up being an all day affair. It wasn't all bad though. Tora and Aaron had taken up modeling a few hats and scarves for their amusement. A few choice outfits looked especially good on them; like seeing Aaron in a green beanie and scarf, or Tora wearing a black cap and shades. Of course, there were some silly ones; like both of them wrapping their faces in long scarves pretending to be ninjas. Chris and Alice thought it was cute that they acted like a couple of kids.

Eventually though, Chris picked out a pair of red trunks that Alice didn't complain about. After changing at the pokémon center, they headed straight for Water Park. Alice chose to wear an old, overly-large white shirt until they arrived at their destination. Like any other amusement park, it was crowded beyond belief with masses of people ranging from families, couples, and groups of friends. Kids were heard and seen screaming with laughter above everyone else as they ran to get on the next water slide or jump into the nearest pool. Most parents either followed closely behind them or held their hands to prevent them from slipping on the wet ground.

From the entrance, they could see most of the rides. Chris and Tora awed at the sight. They had never been to a water park before, so they were clearly excited about coming here. Aaron seemed more weary than excited when it was finally their turn to get buy tickets.

"What's wrong?" Tora asked. "Aren't you excited?"

"Yeah, I am, it's just... I might have to sit this one out," he replied. Tora's ears flattened in disappointment.

"Why's that?"

"I have allergies."

"Allergies? You're allergic to water?"

"I'm allergic to chlorine, which is quite abundant here. I get these itchy rashes on my arms if I'm exposed to it long enough or don't wash it out of my fur."

"So, you're gonna leave?"

"Actually... hold that thought." Aaron vanished from sight before she could say anything else. The poor raichu was confused, but more saddened than anything with his sudden absence. She really wanted to have fun with him at the park today. "Let's go Tora... Where'd Aaron go?"

"He... has allergies," she sighed as she sulkily walked passed him.

Chris, Alice, and Tora walked toward the center of the park. The raichu had a little trouble keeping up due to more than a few kids bumping into her, but she kept her cool. There was no sense in getting any more upset than she already was. Lani was effortlessly slithering through the masses as if they weren't even there. Kishan stayed close to April and glared at anyone who came too close to them. Park rules stated that there were only to be two pokémon out per person. Fang didn't know how to swim, so Alice left him inside of his pokeball for the day. Jari and Kaden were kept inside their balls and tucked away safely in Chris' pocket.

"Okay, so where should we go first?" Alice asked. Before Chris could think of an answer, a hand was placed on his shoulder.

"Hey there, Chris!" someone said behind him. Everyone's eyes turned to the newcomer. He stood a little over Alice' height, shoulder length brown hair, and had the same body build as Chris. His skin was a little tanned and his eyes were the deepest blue anyone had ever seen. He wore green trunks with zigzag design on them and brown sandals.

"Do I... Know you?" Chris asked hesitantly.

"Yeah, we went to... trainer school together. We were in the same class. It's me, Aa-... Oran..." A couple silent moments of confusion passed, before Lani exploded in laughter.

"Pfft, ha ha ha ha ha!" Everyone looked to her with added confusion. Oran rolled his eyes at her. It took a good minute for her to calm down to light giggling.

Just to save himself further embarrassment for his lacking enough foresight to not think of a proper name, Oran, formally known as Aaron, telepathically informed Chris and Tora of his identity, which threw them into a laughing fit as well. After they settled down, they played along with Aaron's persona, Oran, and introduced him to Alice and her pokémon as an old friend. With his disguise, they were able to release Kaden and Jari so that they could have fun as well. From there, it was agreed that they would split up into groups. Alice, Chris, Tora, and Oran would go toward the water slides, Jari and Kaden would go off another, and Kishan, April, and Lani would go to the pool area. They were instructed to be on their best behavior while they were unsupervised and to meet back up at six o'clock. That left three and a half hours for everyone to have fun.

The group of Chris, Alice, Tora, and Aaron walked toward their first ride of the day; The Seadra Slide, a massive slide that was two hundred feet tall with a short spiral near the bottom that shoots it's riders out into a large pool at the end. Riders went down two at a time, side-by-side in two separate lanes. From where the spiral starts, there is a protective roof overhead to prevent anyone from flying off from the turn. The speed at which the group would be traveling sent little shivers of anticipation and adrenaline through their bodies. There was no getting around the face that such a popular ride had a long line, which wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been as hot as it was outside, but that was what made the ride even more appealing.

Alice and Chris had ditched their shirts, socks, and shoes near the start of the line into one of the small lockers the park provides to temporarily store your belongings until you return. Alice revealed to them that she was wearing a purple two-piece that hugged her body in all the right ways. When she asked if she looked good, Chris and Aaron readily replied with a 'yes'. This was followed up with the same question from Tora, which was answered in the same manner as Alice. Both males could tell that there was a bit of jealousy in her voice when she asked, but didn't say anything about it. Now it was almost their turn to ride down the water slide.

"So what made you change your mind?" Tora asked aloud in her mind.

"What do you mean?" Aaron asked. The two couldn't actually talk to each other with Alice and everyone else around, unless they wanted to attract attention to themselves.

"You said you didn't want to come because of your allergies."

"Well I considered it for a moment, but then I thought, what's a couple of rashes compared to spending time with you?" Tora visibly beamed at his answer and couldn't help but hug his leg.

"You're so sweet. I'd kiss you right now if I could."

"We can catch up on those once we get some alone time. We haven't been alone in a while and I'm itching to taste those lips again." The raichu could feel a bit of excitement swell that made her shiver all over.

"I can't wait," she replied before actually thinking. She didn't have to look up to know that Aaron was grinning down at her. "I-I mean..."

"Come on, you two! We're next!!" Alice called out to them, saving Tora from having to try explaining herself. The two approached the lane that was next to Alice and situated themselves on the slide. Tora sat on Aaron's lap, leaning back against his chest with his hands wrapped securely around her sides. She wrapped her tail around herself so it wouldn't accidentally harm Aaron. Chris had already gone down right before they did.

"Is it okay if she rides with me?" Aaron asked the employee overseeing the ride.

"It's okay. As long as your pokémon isn't over three feet tall, they can ride with you," the employee replied. "Just keep them fastened to your body as securely possible."

"Will do, sir."

"You guys ready to scream your heads off?" Alice said, grinning with anticipation.

"Yeah, let's go," Aaron replied excitedly.

Both of them scoot up to the edge of the slide, overlooking the ride down. Tora thought it looked pretty steep, but she didn't have long to think about it before Aaron launched them both over the edge. She screamed as loud as she could as the wind whipped passed her face, her insides feeling like they moved toward her back. She instinctively closed her eyes and could faintly hear Alice screaming beside her and Aaron laughing behind her. She could almost feel the adrenaline coursing its way through her body when she forced her eyes back open, just in time to see the tunnel swallow both her and Aaron.

The sound of rushing water splashing around them was as clear as Aaron's shouts of excitement. The first turn sent them sliding on the wall for a brief moment. From there, the raichu found it more tolerable to keep her eyes open. The rest of the ride ended almost too quickly for her liking. The last turn was suddenly upon them and they were sent airborne into the pool below. Aaron released her from his hold when they hit the water to allow them to swim to the surface, well, for Tora to swim to the surface. All Aaron had to do was stand up.

"That was awesome!" Tora shouted once she came up for air.

"It was way more exciting than I thought it was," Aaron replied with equal enthusiasm. "I really liked the part when you screamed." He received a splash in the face for that last comment.

"I didn't expect you to go so soon! Of course I was terrified!"

"You looked so cute when you were screaming your head off. Let's get on another ride so I can see you do it again." Aaron started swimming for the other end of the pool.

"Cute? We'll see who's cute by the end of the day," she thought as she followed after him.

"This place sucks!" Jari yelled. "There's too much water here and not enough places to walk!"

"It is a water park," Kaden said, trying not to agitate the cubone any further to avoid fighting him. They had walked around for about twenty minutes trying to find something to do, which was difficult since none of the attractions appealed to Jari. So far, he's considered all the rides too childish for him. "Why don't we just go over there and just relax." He was pointing to an area where there were people relaxing in lounge chairs by a pool.

"No way! That's just boring!"

"Then what do you want to do? There're not a whole lot of options that don't involve water."

"Wanna fight?"

"No," he said flatly. "We were told to be on our best behavior. I'm sure we'll get thrown out or something if we did that."

"Then we'll fight the guys who want us thrown out." The heracross sighed and simply continued looking for something cool enough for Jari to want to try.

They walked for nearly ten more minutes before something had finally caught Jari's attention. A small line of people stood in front of a fenced off area. Cheers were heard and several were applauding. The cubone walked over to see what the fuss was about, Kaden following right behind him. Once they were close enough, they saw a human male swerving back and forth on a small board while atop rushing water. The obstruction was twenty feet wide by thirty-five feet long, Water rushed from the front toward the back, where it traveled up a small incline where the human was. Neither Kaden nor Jari have ever seen this before, so they were captivated by males' fluid movement across the water.

"Now that's what I'm talking about!" Jari said excitedly. "That looks like something worthy of my awesomeness." Jari made a dash for the front of the line before Kaden had a chance to stop him. He shoved passed a few people and stumbled out in front of everyone. "Hey, give me a shot at that!" he demanded while waving his bone around.

"Oy, who's cubone is that?" someone asked.

"Is that little guy gonna try this out? That'd be awesome," another commented.

"Yo, let him on!" A chant for Jari started up and eventually he was given a board roughly a bit bigger than his height and size. Kaden managed to squeeze through the crowd of people just as Jari got ready to board.

"Jari, stop, you've never even done this before!"

"You worry too much," Jari replied. "You forget that nothing is too big of a challenge for me to overcome." After getting some brief instructions from a staff member, the cubone was ready to go for his ride. With his board held securely in front, he jumped into the rushing water. Leaning to one side, he moved right toward the center of the artificially created wave. He continued to weave about until he got the hang of it. "Pfft, this isn't that hard," he thought. "That guy worries too much." Against the instructors' advice, he tried to stand up. Unfortunately, he forgot to turn and put his weight on his back foot to keep the board from going under and instantly fell off, getting a mouthful of water while being pushed to the back. There was a small roll of laughter mixed in with some applause.

Kaden flew over to the coughing cubone and helped him get onto dry land. "You okay?" he asked with concern.

"Of course I am," Jari wheezed as he coughed the last of the water out. "A little water never hurts me."

"Maybe you should practice a little before you try standing up."

"Greatness doesn't need to practice. That was just a test run for that board thing. I could nail it anytime I want to."

"You should listen to your friend. A little practice never hurts anyone," someone said. Both of them looked up to see a golduck standing next to them. "It took me a few times before I finally got it, so there's no need to rush it."

"It took you a few times to get it because you're not as great as I am," he snapped back.

"Oh? And who are you?"

"I thought you'd never asked." Jari twirled his weapon and pointed it at the blue duck. "I'm the greatest, most awe-inspiring warrior you'll ever see or speak about! I'm the future destroyer of legendary pokémon everywhere! There will be tales of my triumphs over the legends you've come to praise so much! My name is Jari, named after my father before me! Those who face me in battle will see first-hand how powerful I am and be destroyed just by the sheer pressure of my presence! No other pokémon comes close to the greatness that is me!" The golduck stared at Jari in disbelief. The surrounding people had no idea what he was saying, but most of them assumed that it must've been something by the way he was saying it.

"Huh, you changed it," Kaden pointed out, not all phased after hearing the speech so many times. "It's a bit longer."

"I'm trying something new," Jari replied. "I think it still needs some work."

"Uh, Jari was it," the golduck interjected. "All that's great and all, I admire your pride, but none of that is gonna help you here. You still need some practice."

"Do you have gunk in your ears? I said I don't need practice! And I can prove it by beating you!"

"Wait, what?"

"You heard me, get your board thing! We're gonna see who stays on the longest!" As he was saying this, he was picking up his board and stepping to the edge. "I'm wa-iting!" he sang tauntingly. Clearly not wanting to be upstaged by an amateur, he gestured toward his trainer for a board. The crowd erupted in applause and excitement, now that they see the golduck was challenged by the newcomer.

"By the way, the name's Arlen."

"Pfft, what a lame name." Once ready, both pokémon hit the water at the same time. Jari landed in his belly once more, while the golduck took to standing. He looked his opponent over and tried standing again, this time successfully doing so, yet on wobbly legs. Once he gained his balance, the cubone wasted no time looking smug toward the blue duck.

"Don't think you've done anything special," golduck said. "let's see some moves."

"Moves? You'll regret the moment you asked."

Lani dove into the large pool the first chance she got. Above anything else she liked to do, swimming was her favorite. She loved to be in the water. It was where she felt most comfortable, safe even. The feel of cool water on her scales put her mind at ease and gave her a huge boost of energy. In the water is where she thrives, no one can touch her. These thoughts went through her mind as she swam through the mass of people. She breached the surface with a huge smile.

"Oh, this feels so good!" she exclaimed happily. Kishan and April were looking at her from the edge of the pool. "Hurry up and jump in!"

"That's alright," Kishan replied. We'll just head over to the little pool over there." Lani peeked over to where he was pointing, seeing a group of young children playing in foot deep water.

"The kiddy pool?"

"Yeah, April can't really swim, so I'll just keep her company."

"You d-don't have to miss out on fun because of me," April said shyly, feeling bad because she was keeping her friend from enjoying himself. It was true, April wasn't a great swimmer. She could stay afloat just fine, but she could never grasp the concept of actually trying to swim. It always looked awkward whenever she tried and she would feel embarrassed because of it. "I'll be fine on my own."

"It's okay, really. I don't mind staying with you. We'll have some fun on our own."

"But... You'll have more fun in the bigger pool..."

"Why don't you teach her how to swim?" Lani suggested. "It'll be fun and you guys can be in the bigger pool with me."

"That sounds like a great idea," Kishan said happily, turning to the sheep. "We can start back on your lessons again." April blushed and looked away.

"B-But, I look s-silly when I d-do it."

"It doesn't matter. All that matters is that you learn. It might just save your life one day." Before she could try putting up any further arguments, the wartortle grabbed her paw and started leading her away to a more isolated part of the pool.

Lani giggled at them as they went off. Now that the young dragon was alone, she briefly wondered what she wanted to do. There were far too many people for her to just relax in the water and she didn't want to swim aimlessly without anything to do. An idea suddenly struck her, a rather mischievous one that made her giggle. She sunk back into the water and faced the maze of half-submerged humans. She swam forward, looking for the perfect prey to have her fun with. She found a pair of humans, one man and woman, playing a game with some others.

"Perfect," she thought. She approached the pair, keeping a constant eye out for her escape route. She knew her pink scales would give her away, this being one of the few times she wished she had normal scales, so she had to make sure she was at a safe distance to enjoy the show.

Once she was close enough, she lightly smacked the female on her rear and quickly swam away. When she looked back to check the damage, she saw the female push the male into the water. She laughed at his confusion and went to find her next victims. She did the same thing on multiple pairs, keeping enough space between victims so that they wouldn't catch on. She opted between males and females, each one getting different results; sometimes they hit each other, other times they rolled with it and flirted. Granted, the dragon knew this wasn't the best use of her time, but she was told to enjoy herself and that was what she would do.

Eventually, Lani got tired of doing the same thing and choose to relax by the side of the pool and soak up the sun. She didn't get a chance to relax for very long before someone approached her. "Hey there, beautiful," a deep voice called out to her, clearly male. The dragon fought back the urge to roll her eyes and looked up at the male next to her. Not much to her surprise, he was a machoke. He looked and approached her like a typical muscle-brain idiot, only caring about his body and the next tail he could tap. He was the kind whose ego was bigger than a magikarps' stupidity, which is constantly stroked by the slutty females who raised their tail for him. It wasn't her first time dealing with these types, far from it, so she knew to play it cool and calmly reject his advances. If that didn't work, there was always a more definite way to get him to leave her alone.

"You're not talking to me, are you?" she asked, sounding like she wasn't the least bothered by his intrusion.

"I don't see anyone else around here to look at." Lani had to really focus on keeping her eyes from rolling at the cheesy line. "Besides, none of the other girls I've seen don't compare to the sort of beauty you have."

"How flattering. So what brings over here?"

"Oh, you know, just looking for someone to... spend some time with. The rides here are great and everything, but I just wanna chill for a bit."

"And I was the lucky girl you chose?"

"Yep! I couldn't resist coming over here." The bulky pokémon squatted down to in front of her, naturally drawing her eyes down to his package. She wasn't going to lie, he had pretty big bulge down there, and it didn't look like he was aroused at all. He was certainly bigger than most machoke, but that made his attempt all the more pathetic to her. "So what's a girl like you doing here by yourself?"

"I'm not alone. I came here with some friends." She pointed toward Kishan and April. The machoke saw a flaafy awkwardly swimming toward a wartortle.

"I see..." he replied uninterestingly. "What do you say we head to someplace more... Secluded to really relax."

"Stopped beating around the bush, eh?" The machoke's face turned to mild shock and cofusion.

"Uh, what do you mean?"

"I'm not an idiot," Lani deadpanned. "I knew from the get-go that you want nothing more from me than another good time, right? Don't take my youth for ignorance. I've been around the block more than once and I'm not interested in what you're offering."

"Oh, really," he laughed. "You haven't been around any block or else you would've met me. I can understand if it's your first time and you're scared, but I can be real gentle." He made an attempt to grab her, which was a bad move on his part. As soon as Lani felt his fingers, she slapped his hand away with her tail.

"Don't you touch me!" she yelled. "I said to get lost!" The bulky pokémon got up and backed off, rubbing his hand.

"Jeez, you don't have to be so hostile." With that, he turned around and left. As be was leaving, she could've sworn she heard him mutter 'stuck up bitch'. She growled and had mind to actually use the small horn on her head and ram it where the sun doesn't shine. Even though she knows to ignore guys like that, it still hurts to be seen as nothing more than a piece of meat. She'll be a slut if she went with him and a bitch if she didn't, at least that's what she believes. That was what she learned a long time ago and she'll be damned if she ever reverted back to how she used to be. Still, to be seen that way again was just so...

"Hey, are you alright?" It was Kishan. He was looking at her worriedly from the edge of the pool. April was next to him. "We heard you shouting and wanted to check on you."

"I'm fine!" Lani choked out, barely containing her suddenly strained voice. The dragon straightened up and wiped away a few tears that she failed to notice.

"No, you're not. Was that guy messing with you? You want me to deal with him?!"

"No!" she hastily replied, sensing that the turtle would be true to his word. "It's... It's not necessary... And I'm sorry for yelling at you. That guy was just another... jerk."

"It's okay," April said. "Do you... Want to p-play with us?"

"Yeah, we could play Marco Polo!" Kishan added. Their friendly gesture put a smile back on her face.

"Sure, I'll play with you guys."

The hours passed by and the heat of the day was gradually decreasing along with the sun. In just a couple more hours it would set, letting the moon and constellations take over the sky until its return. Chris and Alice stood near the entrance of the park, waiting for their pokémon to return. Both of them were near exhausted, but were satisfied with the amount of fun they had. Alice thought it was a little strange for Chris to allow his raichu to go with Oran, but dismissed it because they were old friends.

"Today was a good day," Alice said with a huge grin.

"Good? It was completely awesome!" Chris exclaimed. "That was the most fun I've had in a while."

"This was you first time, right? I can see why you're so excited."

"Why wouldn't I be? I wanna come back here again one day."

"We gotta leave first to do that." She started looking around. "I wonder where everyone is though. They should've been back by now." As if on cue, a security guard approached them with Kaden and Jari by his side. Both pokémon looked a little banged up, which caused both trainers to worry.

"Are these two your pokémon?" the guard asked.

"Yes, they are. What's the matter?" Alice asked. She had a feeling in the back of her mind that she knew what might've happened.

"Well apparently, during some sort of flow-boarding contest between this cubone and a golduck, a fight broke out between them that was initiated by this cubone."

"Jari! I told you not to cause any trouble!" Alice scolded.

"That guy was asking for it!" Jari shouted back. "He deserved that beating for underestimating me!" Of course, Alice didn't hear any of it, but assumed that he didn't care by the way he seemed proud of what he did.

"What about Kaden?" Chris asked, to which the beetle looked at the ground guiltily.

"This one tried to break it up, but joined in when he took one too many hits," the guard replied.

"Kaden..." Chris sighed. He honestly expected Kaden to be a little more level headed, but he couldn't really blame the bug for getting a little assertive. What's done is done, right? Just then, another security guard came up to them with Lani, Kishan, and April with her.

"Excuse me, are these your pokémon?"

"Oh no, don't tell they're in trouble too," Alice groaned.

"I'm afraid they are, but it's not something terrible. These three were playing a game and this flaafy got spooked when the dratini tapped her from behind. The little thing practically blinded everyone with its tail and caused some real safety hazards for anyone in a forty-five foot radius."

"You guys..." All three of them stared shamefully at the ground.

"Okay, things can't get any worse, right?" Chris thought.

"Wait, didn't you have a raichu with you when you came in?" the first guard asked.

"Uh..." Tora arrived on scene with Aaron, back in his espeon form, both of them looking a bit nervous for some reason. "Oh, hey, there you are." At this point, Chris was starting to panic a little inside.

"That reminds me; we're looking for a poképhile around here," the second guard said.

"Poképhile?!" Chris and Alice exclaimed.

"Yeah, some kid was spotted locking lips with a raichu. He somehow disappeared before we could get a good look at him." Chris looked down at Aaron and Tora, silently praying that it wasn't them. Unfortunately, the guilty look they gave him confirmed his suspicions. It didn't really help that Lani started laughing at them. "Are all these pokémon with you two? If so, then you've broken the rules and we're going to have to ask you to leave."

With a defeated sigh, Chris and Alice were escorted out of the park with their pokémon in tow. Once they were outside, they recalled their pokémon into their balls. "Ugh, I've never been so embarrassed in my life," Alice groaned.

"This day could've ended better," Chris added.

"I can't believe we got kicked out the park... And that April caused trouble. Jari I can believe, but April... That could be written off as an accident! And where did Oran disappear to? We didn't even say goodbye to him! And another thing, why did your espeon show up out of nowhere with Tora? I thought he wasn't coming."

"Whoa, slow down," he said with his hands raised. "Let's just wash up at the center and get something to eat from a nice restaurant. It's been a day." Alice couldn't help but sigh in agreement.

"Yeah, sure... Maybe food will help put all this behind us."

The group went to a decent restaurant near the pokémon center. Luckily, it was one that served pokémon too, so everyone got to eat dinner at the same time. The food was delicious and everyone had a good time, after getting over the feeling that they were in trouble, save for Jari. After some desert, Chris and Alice split the bill and left for the center. They didn't talk much and only said good night to each other when they reached their rooms.
