I know it's a bit short but it took a long time to make. I threw in a few references to other zombie things because my boyfriend and I both love those games. This is my first upload that I worked my hardest on. please enjoy <3

It's been a week since this horrible zombie infection started...I couldn't believe it until I saw it...sometimes I think about what life was like before it happened. I remember I was spending the evening with my boyfriend at our house, just sitting on the porch. The infection spread faster than anyone could even try to stop it. Before we knew it, the entire town was infected. The first thing he and I did was agree to look for survivors. Luckily my boyfriend has a large collection of knives and blades, and I always have a snub nosed revolver.

We managed to find two other survivors. A winged wolf named Josh who prefers to use a steel crowbar, and was searching a grocery store for supplies when we found him. and a female squirrel named Kiki, who we found sitting on a pile of dead zombies, a sheathed katana in her lap. My name is Artemis Snowtail, and I'm a cat, my fur a perfect white color with light orange stripes across my back..and my boyfriends name is John, but I just call him puppy, or pup. He's a german Shepard with light brown fur and swore he'd protect me no matter what.

My first encounter with the infected was at the park a few minutes after pup and I left home. It was a leopard, but it's fur was ragged and there were patches of grey flesh showing. It turned to look at us, it's eyes silver, it's mouth dripping blood and saliva. I stumbled back as it ran toward us but pup stood his ground. I urged him to run with me but he unsheathed a large Bowie knife. I whimpered and stood watching, then let out a small groan as pup sunk the knife easily into the leopards chest, then brought the knife up, the blade cutting through bone and flesh as it's neck was torn open. The zombie let out a shriek and went limp as pup let it fall onto the ground. He told me it'd be okay, and to stay close. It was a while after this Incident that we found the others.

All we knew was to get out of this town, and that we had to fight our way through these infected to get there. It wasn't that big of a town and most of the infected we saw were taken care of by the squirrel, who seemed to love killing things. I hadn't killed any yet, because I was saving my bullets. I knew I was a crackshot. Before I met pup, I was in the care of a retired special ops commander. He taught me all about guns and how to shoot with a perfect aim. When we were moving along a street, we suddenly heard a screech, then suddenly a black blur flew through the air onto Josh, slashing and clawing at his chest. Shocked, pup grabbed it, trying to pull it off of the screaming wolf as Kiki started running to help. I aimed as fast as I could and fired, the bullet penetrating the beasts skull, blood exploding out the other side as it fell to the ground dead. As pup pulled the shaking and wounded wolf to his feet, I rolled the beast over to see it was a green lizard wearing a dark gray hoodie, and recognized it as a special kind of zombie called a hunter. I looked over at the wolf who was nodded, trying to assure pup that he was okay. I looked off down the road and smiled as I saw large printed letters on a store sign. GUN STORE

I pointed and urged them to come with me. Pup immediately agreed and Kiki nodded silently. Josh nodded, holding his scratched chest. I took Pup's paw in mine as I headed toward it, several zombies getting a crowbar to the face or a machete through the chest. As we reached the door and peeked inside, and after we saw that there were no zombies inside, ran in and shut the door. Pup and the others searched the store as I scurried around, exclaiming delightedly at the selection of guns and grabbed a sniper rifle off the wall muttering excitedly about the gun. C14 Timberwolf, .33 caliber sniper rifle, One of my favorites. I pulled down a Winchester defender 1800 shotgun, and plenty of ammo. Out of my love for guns with animal names I picked up a Taurus Raging Bull .44 magnum. I scurried back over to pup and the others, then told pup that the gun he was holding was an FN FNC assault rifle. He smiled as he attached a bayonet to it while Josh picked up an AK-47.

We exited through the back of the gun store and Kiki pointed down the road and we started off. We heard a loud roar and we turned, seeing a horde of thirty or forty zombies sprinting toward us, all howling and shrieking as they caught sight of us. Not stopping to think, I grabbed Pup's paw and started running, shouting at the others to hurry up. Josh started firing into the crowd as he ran backwards, clearly scared. I pointed toward the mall, a large building about a hundred yards away. The horde drew closer and I turned, aiming and firing, taking out several zombies with each shot. Pup starting firing and Kiki rushed in, tail close to her body as she startedslicing and cutting through zombies. By this time there weren't many zombies left, but I didn't care about how many were left as I lowered the sniper, letting it hang on it's strap as I raised my revolver, closing one eye and holding my breath, slowly pulling the trigger and sending a bullet into the last zombie's skull. Josh seemed somewhat shaken and was staring at an infected blue raccoon, who's chest was full of bullets, but was still growling and trying to get up, though his legs were nearly blown off. I did a double take on this zombie, and pointed it out to Pup. We both recognized it in moments. When this raccoon was alive he broke both our hearts. This was no time to let our feelings affect us though. I looked at pup and he nodded to Josh, then turned and started toward the mall, where Kiki was already waiting. I trotted after him as I heard what sounded like a watermelon being smashed behind me, and I knew Josh had just smashed the zombies head in.

There weren't too many zombies inside the mall, though there were several wandering around. We also did see one of those furless things, whaddya call them...humans. He kept taking pictures of zombies and urged us to follow him. We didn't follow because he seemed a bit disturbed. I can't really remember his name..Frank something, I think. Anyways, we decided to spend the night in the food court, as it had lots of, well food. Disposing of the zombies was fairly easy, when suddenly I felt something long and slimy wrap tightly around my chest and throat. I tried to scream out as I was pulled backwards, but the thing tightened around my throat. For a few seconds all i knew was a strangling sensation of being unable to breathe. Pup grabbed me and swung his machete through the tongue, and I was left gasping on the ground as I heard a gunshot. I was pulled to my feet by gentle paws, pulling the remains of the tongue off me, I groaned softly and looked at Pup, my clothes ripped around the shoulders as I rubbed my throat, which was now bruised. I thanked him and told them I was fine and that we needed to keep searching. I went with Pup to the storage room as Josh followed Kiki, not wanting to be left behind. The storage room was large, cold, and filled with all sorts of foods, setting my sensitive nose off with all the different smells. There were no zombies in here, as the one entrance was shut tight, but oddly it wasn't locked. Pup picked up a semi frozen steak, looking at me hopefully. I smiled softly and nodded, although I knew we probably wouldn't have enough time to defrost and cook it. There was a rustling behind some boxes and we both turned, my revolver out and pointing at the boxes. I kicked a box over, revealing a terrified looking dragon, several deep scratch marks in his left wing. I glanced at Pup, who was aiming his gun steadily at the shaking dragon. I holstered my weapon and gently motioned for Pup to lower his as I crouched next to the dragon putting my paw on his back. I asked him who he was and if he wanted to come with us. He said that his name was Till, and nodded quickly at the second question. Pup and I grabbed some canned food and quickly exited the room, the dragon following behind.

We met the others and they said they had cleared the rest of the area. I asked the others if they had any extra weapons, as I had gotten attached to mine, even the shotgun that I hadn't used yet. They looked at pup, who nodded handed him a large Bowie knife. I looked at him meaningfully and he grudgingly handed over a Taurus 24/7, a nice pistol he had picked up. The dragon examined the gun as we looked at a clock. It was about 10:45. I suggested that we go to sleep, and take turns watching. Pup said he'd take the first shift. Before we slept I started rummaging through the backpack. I handed Pup a silencer and said I'd like to stay closer to him. He nodded and sat on the counter of a Mcpawnalds restaurant, and I curled up behind the counter as Josh, Kiki, and Till went into the back room. I hoped someday we might be able to get out of this.
