#4 of An Ordinary Day

Woo! Chapter 2! I'm on a roll! But I fear quality may be lacking... If so, please inform me! Still short, I know. There is a reason for where it ends and you'll find out in Chapter 3. I'm pretty sure this is shorter than Chapter 1, maybe even shorter than the prologue... Anyway, enough from me, let's see wht Hikari's up to!

An Ordinary Day

Chapter 2

A Glimpse of Times to Come

The tour of my home had an ulterior motive. I was actually using it as an excuse to check all of my wards and barriers that were set up around the house. I have a sinking feeling that, now that there are two sources of spiritual power in the house, way too many demons will come looking for us. It was easy to protect one of us at a time when we were in different places and he kept stealing my bread. Then I would just charge the bread with a ward that would protect the next person to touch it. I wasn't too worried about myself since I could easily defend myself if the situation calls for it. Now I need to reinforce all of the protection and probably add a few more. Well, I don't mind a little extra work if it's to keep him safe.

As I step outside, I instantly feel an overbearing presence. It definitely did not want to just come in for a cup of tea and some cookies; unless the tea was our blood and the cookies were our souls. I get to work immediately.

"A barrier weak, to be made strong. So the hold will last from short to long. Tempered by my spiritual power, cause this evil to run and cower!" While say this I draw the sigil for protection in the air in front of me over and over again until I've said the spell three times.

I feel the presence leave and know that it will return.

"Well, that was a close one. Good thing I noticed Kuroi's unease or else we could be lunch instead of having lunch. Speaking of which, I should get started on that."

I head back inside and walk to the kitchen. As I walk past the stairs I hear water running.

"Well, while he has a shower, I'll figure out what to make."

I enter the kitchen and set my phone to play "There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey. You Just Haven't Thought of it Yet." by Panic! At The Disco.

"Let's get started!"

I take out the necessary equipment and start cooking.
