Armeggedon: The Katsu story 2
Part 2!
It had been a few minutes since we left the underground shelter and reached the top of the drop. We all made sure that the rock stayed ontop of the hole so nothing could get in and to ensure the safety of the others. When i scanned the area around us i could feel myself breaking down. The forest, the forest i had so many child hood memories was gone. Nothing stood except for some dead trees that managed to stay standing but stripped of their leaves. The forest had been turned into a wastland in the few minutes that had passed since Lavos appeard. The fox who had told me his name was Lumine put his hand on my shoulder, saying that when this was all over we could try and replaint the forest. I just walked off in the direction of the nearest city. Lumine and i along with our Husky compainion made haste. It took us a good while to cross the once bountiful forest to a view point in which anyone could see the city. Lumine gasped as did i when we all saw what had become of the city. Still being consumed by the flames of Lavos the city was reduced to mere nothing. Barely any buildings stood and mostly everything was in flames. Lumine growled at the horrific sight, I only sighed and started down the view point. The winds started to pick up since nothing was blocking them. It was pretty harsh but we managed to walk through it and to the city border. Bracing ourselves with the weapons we held we enterd the city. The streets were bare and litterd with the ripped and magled bodies of its citizens. I almost gagged at the gore but Lumine just shrugged it off and carried forward. Along the way we passed a hospital and decided to stop to see if we could pick up any medical supplies.
Inside the hospital was no better then what was outside in the ruined city. Bodies were everywhere, all of them burned to a crisp or smashed underneath some debries. The only thing that had cought my eye was the body of a nurse, only she had no crush wounds or burns. It appeard that she was stabbed in the gut by the cut wounds on her shirt I would have said three times just above the stomach. 'Had someone killed her in all the chaos?' This question racked through my mind as we searched the rest of the hospital. When we were done with the main floor and lobby we moved onto the cafeteria to see if we could find any food to bring with us. Though food was the last thing in my mind since everything was either spoiled or had been contaminated with blood of the luch lady workers. I looked through the freezer and found that the refrigeration had been shut down and everything woul have spoiled, I took some cold cuts they had and a couple pices of meat that was inside. The rest of the group was able to recover some sandwhiches that were wrapped in plastic. Deciding we shouldnt stay long we started for the cafeteria door, only to find it locked.
"What the hell? Did someone lock us in?" I asked trying my hardest to open the door. "I dont know but we better find anothe way out. I think Lavos may wake up soon." Replied Lumine as he searched the cafeteria for another door. " Fuck that. Lets just smash it open!" Blurted the husky as she punched the door with her new mechanical arm only to find the door was baracaded from the other side.
I growled and kept bashing agianst the door, only to have no luck of getting it open. "Shit i think someone really wanted us to stay here" I wisperd only to have it answerd by an uknown voice. "You...your are the next ones to be sacraficed to Lavos" was the only thing said before three furs jumped from the ceiling, each drapped in a black rode and carrying daggers with them. They appeard to be of the same species, a dragon morph. We all held up our weapons, ready to fight if it was neccasary. The dragon morphs lunged at us each hissing, one just barely missed me and managed to just cut some of my fur off. He soon was met with a bullet inbetween the eyes going right through his skull, as he fell to the floor his head being surrouned by a pool of his crimson blood, Lumine was having some problems with the one attacking him. He may have been quick but the dragon morph was stronger then him. He had him against a wall already but Lumine was blocking his dagger with the blade he had carried with him. I took aim and fired three shots, each percing the scales of the dragon morph attacking Lumine. Its blood sprayed onto the floor coating it in its deep red color. Along with the dragon morph who fell ot his side. 'Two down one to go' I stupidly stated. We turned around to see the husky that had come along with us ontop of her foe, crushing its skull with her new mechanical arm, his blood coated the cold metal and he laid there lifelss underneath the murderous husky, the sight alone was enough to make me blow junks on the floor while Lumine just stared his face turning white.
"What? Never seen a woman defend her life?" She question as she got off of the dragon and started to clean her arm with a rag that was on the floor. "Well....not like that" Lumine responded as he started to push the baracaded door. "Fuck this door is not gonna open any time soon....how are we gonna get out?"
I started looking around before i noticed an air duct just above our heads, I grieneed and jumped onto a table calling over Lumine and our husky companion to give me a lift. When i reached the air duct i punched it open and crawled inside the metalic air shaft. Shifting so i was facing the hole I reached down and pulled Lumine up into the shaft then the husky. We all started to crawl through the ducts and trying to find our way to the lobby, along the way we noticed some light coming from one of the air duct panels, curious I crawled and peered into the room that it was located in. What i saw shocked the living day lights out of me. There were six, no eight furs surounding a lone nurse who was chained to one of the operating tables, the room was lit with candles and each fur carrying the same kind of jagged dagger. The nurse struggled to break free but to no avail she reamined stuck, one of the furs who again was a dragon stepped up saying some sort of prayer in an entirely different language. He raised his claw and struch the women in the hart with the dagger, she cried out in pain but soon quieted down as her blood spiiled onto the hospital floor the other furs falling to their kneese to lick the blood from the floor like sick monsters. I gagged at the sight and tried to keep it in so we didnt get discoverd.
"What kind of sick bastards are these?" I question as quietly as i could. "If i was more sure i would say their some kind of cult that belives in human sarefices or just likes blood alot. What i dont get though is why are they coming out now?" Replied Lumine staring down at the sight of the sick ritual. "Look i dont give a fuck. Lets go and smash them before they get any more survivors!" Our husky friend said before she smashed the grate open, letting it fall on a fur's head knocking him out while she jumped down and punched one right in the face, sending him flying to the wall. "Lets go! I'll take on all of you terd nuggets!"
She bellowed out raising her fist in her vicious might. While the entire group hissed and started for her with daggers in their hands. I just shook my head and jumped down also with my gun loaded while Lumine did the same his blade in hand. We all nodded and eachother and started for them as welL With the little ammunition I had my aim had to be carful and percise. Closing one of my eyes i took aim lining up a shot for a double head shot, with no problem pulling the trigger the bullet went through one of the fur's skull's and then through the other causing in adouble death. I smiled but gagged at the sight of their splatterd brains all over the floor. Lumine on the other hand i thought he was a expert swords men since he chopped up three of them in less then a second, barely getting any blood on him or his cloak. Our husky friend jist down right scared me, with her mechanical arm she ripped a arm from the fur's torso and used that to beat another fur with it. Oh i felt bad for that fur since after the beating his face was caved in by her fist. Lumine and I both just stared at eachother both with the same lok of fear for the husky.
"Alright lets get moving. I have a feeling there are more here..." Lumine said sheathing his blade and opening one of the doors into the hallway of the ruined hospital.
