#1 of What is Love?

Daniel has no reason. He has no purpose. But something ticks. He feels different today. But why?

Little did he know how different he really is.

What is Love? (part 1) ~ The house awoke with electricity flowing through it. It had a place to go, it had a purpose for it to be. Flowing with never-ending excitement, it made its way through the maze of a wall. Reaching its destination, it slowly morphed into something new and started a new journey in the pitch black coating. It hit the inside of a new being and brought it to life. This new object had a purpose. It had an important job to do. The alarm clock rang with delight on causing another miserable awakening. It loved its job of annoying anything it possibly could. It did its job too well.

"Why won't that thing just die?" Daniel asked himself groggily. "It causes more pain than pleasure."

His thoughts went right back to the same mindset. It's simply because it has a reason to be that it's here and it's doing what it must do, he thought. It had a point in its life. It was unlike him. He had no point in life and he accepted it every day while putting on a fake attitude and making himself somewhat presentable.

Daniel was not ready for the summer. He didn't want school in session, but he didn't want to be stuck in the endless loop of summer. Every day he would simply wake up right before noon and lay there without a purpose. Food finally found a way into him by the afternoon. Then he was simply free to do anything within reason. He had no reason, therefore, he had nothing to do. The computer would be the only thing to waste time. By the evening, some type of meal came to be his friend as he devoured it. Afterwards, he would continue is computer browsing. If there was nothing new or intriguing, a nice hot bath would keep him company for at least an hour before it was chilled beyond a comfortable level to him. He would then go back into his dull room to rather play on his computer yet again or to simply goof off on his iPod. It was a simple routine. It was one that Daniel knew he could do everyday without a reason to change it. He had no reason to do so.

But today was different. Something felt different to Daniel. He didn't feel like himself. He felt like he... had a purpose.

"No," he argued, "It's just the empty abyss that I call my body longing for something I can never obtain."

His instinct argued back. Something really was sparking up inside Daniel. He didn't know if it was for better or for worse, but he kind of... liked it. But it didn't feel like Daniel. What would Daniel do in this situation? Nothing. Nothing whatsoever. Daniel had no purpose of changing. This time was different. He just wasn't who he is on a daily basis. He had reason to believe he had a purpose. He was going against every fiber in his body by saying so, but he enjoyed it. He had reason to change and be different than who he is and who everybody else is. He wasn't who people wanted him to be and today, he was thankful for it. He wanted to be different. Little did he know how different he really was. ~~~ Just a little snippet I made to see what people thought. If people want me to, I will continue this to a degree. I like writing and typing, but I never do things like this on a basis, so I will only continue when people tell me to. My ideas in writing always change, so the story may start to veer, but nonetheless I find them fun to read if they are good. Tell me what you think. :) If we continue, things will get spicy.
