I do not own Pokémon in any way. This chapter will explain further as to why all of the Professors know about humans entering their world from another. Two new Pokémon will also join the team. Read and enjoy.

The Stone Guardian

A cool breeze blows by, the sound of Pidoves calling out to each other. These are the sounds of the early morning the Evens wakes up to. Sitting up in the tent Evens looks down and pets Zorua making sure not to agitate her wounds. Oshawott sits up rubbing his eyes, "master is it breakfast time yet?" Smiling Evens gets up and exits the tent, "in a little bit Oshawott we have to reach Accumula town first."

When the last of the things were packed away Evens gets up carefully holding Zorua in his arms, "let's get you to a Pokémon center." Zorua nuzzles herself deeper into Evens arms, "that sounds good."

After two hours of waking Evens finally sets foot in Accumula town. "Damn this region is a hell of a lot bigger than I thought it would be I mean I knew it would take a while to walk from town to town but this is ridiculous." Walking toward the building with the red roof and pokeball sign on top Evens brings out Oshawott's pokeball, "Oshawott time to get in, don't worry it's just so nurse joy can give you a check-up." Nodding Oshawott holds still while Evens taps the center button on the ball, a ray of light shots out and envelopes Oshawott before returning him to the inside of his temporary home. Entering the Pokémon center Evens is careful to cover Zorua, "if anybody found out that you're a wild shiny there'd be a riot." As Evens approaches the counter Nurse Joy brings out a tray and calls for a stretcher. Two Audino's come out from a pair doors with a stretcher, "we can take the injured Pokémon sir." Nodding Evens places Zorua on the mat, "can you two make sure that no one sees her, I haven't catch her yet but was going to after coming here." Bowing the Audino places a cover over Zorua's body and places a hand on her head to cover the last remaining tufts of blue on the injured Pokémon. Placing Oshawott's pokeball on the tray, "he seems to not have any injuries but a checkup would be nice." Bowing Nurse Joy takes the tray, "of course sir, you can have a seat over there while you wait for your Pokémon." Motioning to row of chairs Evens sits down in the chair closest to the doors that the Audino took Zorua through.

Ten minutes pass, the Audino come through the doors with both Zorua and Oshawott sitting on the mat. Evens gets up quickly to block the view of the other trainers still waiting for their Pokémon, "that won't be necessary sir, Zorua told us of her deal with you." An Audino steps forward holding out two pokeballs, "the one on the left is hers." Taking the orange size balls Evens taps the center buttons shrinking them to the size of a quarter (spin a quarter and that's the size of the pokeball).

"And one last thing, please refrain for participating in any Pokémon battle for a least two days, the wounds on Zorua are healed but she still needs time to rest." Evens turns to Nurse Joy, "excuse me nurse." "Yes?" "How long would it take to get to Striaton city from here?" "It would take about a day and a half depending on speed of travel." "Thank you Nurse Joy." Both bow to each other, Evens turns around and begins walking toward the door before he is stopped by four trainers.

"Dude is that a shiny Zorua!?" "Trade me man I got a Sawk that's really strong!" "No man, trade me I got a Sandile!" "Forget those three I'll trade you and give three thousand for it!" Evens cornered tries to back away for the persistent trainer, "no that's ok, she isn't for trade." Come on dude every Pokémon's for trade." Shaking his head Evens backs up until his back touches the stretcher, "Zorua do you mind creating some kind of illusion that could distract them so we can get out of here?" Giggling Zorua blinks, her eyes start glowing bright blue, "He, he, he, he what's wrong master are you not going to even consider any of their offers?" Frowning Evens picks up both Oshawott and Zorua, "of course not, you two mean the world to me." Giggling again Zorua climbs up onto Evens left shoulder, "ok I'll reward you for being good trainer." As soon as she finished her sentence the trainers turn around and starting running out the door, "hey wait up, are you going to trade us!?"

Walking down the path Evens looks at the map, "well if we keep this same pace we'll reach Striaton city by tomorrow." Accessing the moves list Evens check the available moves for Zorua, "moves known are scratch, hone claw, fury swipes, and feint attack." Exiting the function Evens puts away the Pokédex and continues walking toward his destination.

"Zorua you know I have to ask." "Yes, I did promise you answers to whatever questions you had." "Ok, who was the first human that ended up in this world?" "That would be red." "Did you say red?" "Yes, then after a few months blue showed up." "Hold on, back up a second you mean to tell me that a person named red ended up here?" "Yes, he was found in the Kanto region by professor Oak. When blue appeared Professor Oak took it upon himself to raise them both." "How old were they?" "They were about.... Seven maybe eight?" "So I take it then that more and more kids started magically appearing from out of nowhere?" "Pretty much, and that's what baffled the professor. So he called a meeting with all of the other professors to try and come up with an answer as to why so many kids were appearing from another world." "Ha, ha that's kind of funny." "What is?" "Well, in my Pokémon game red and blue are legendary trainers who have caught one of every Pokémon in their respective regions; they even went as far as catching the legendary Pokémon." "That's all true; in fact blue is the current champion of the Kanto region while red travels the world in search of a way to return home." "So then every Professor in the world keeps tabs on the kids that show up in their regions?" "Pretty much, Professor Juniper contacted Professor Fennel as soon as you walked out the door." "So then how did you know what I looked like?" well when the professor registered you as a trainer she had a photo I.D. sent to Fennel, I saw it and started heading in your direction." "But how did you know that I would be heading to Accumula town?" "It's the only town that's close and the most logical choice for a new trainer to go if they wants to stock up for their adventure." "Then why did you try to kill me when we first meet?"

Zorua turns her head to avoid Evens eyes, "when I was little a trainer caught my mother." A little confused Evens was about to ask what did that have to do with her reaction towards him, Zorua holds back whimper, "He was a horrible person, he would beat and rape her constantly, and there was nothing that I could do about it." Tears start flowing down Zorua's and Oshawott's faces, "it wasn't until the trainer beat her into a comma that someone finally did something." Wiping her tears on Evens shoulder, "the police arrested him for abuse and he got five years in prison, but he was only in there for six months." Shock ran across both Evens and Oshawott's faces, "he got out in six months how!?" "His father paid for his release, and the first thing that he did when he got out was try to visit my mother. But the police was notified ahead of time and they moved her to another hospital." "And I can guess that when he showed up at the hospital he was preaching about how prison had changed him and that he was ready to be a trainer again." "That is exactly what happened, but when the nurse refused to give him the location of my mother he snapped, yelling about how she was his property and he could do what he wanted to her and there was nothing anyone could do about it." "What happened then?" "Well the nurse asked him to leave before the police was called about his outburst. He recollected himself and left saying that he would find her eventually." "So what does he have to do with me, I would never do such a thing to either of you." "The reason why I attacked you was because you look exactly like him." "Then can I ask, how do you know he did all of those terrible things to your mom?" "I had an illusion on me the entire time, I was invisible to him." "Why didn't your mom just leave or strike back at him?" "He caught her using a master ball, any Pokémon caught with that ball lose all free will and become mindless slave." "Then why doesn't a normal pokeball have the same affect?" "The master ball was created to catch legendary Pokémon, anything else loses it's free will and a pokeball is just meant to house the Pokémon." "Ok, then can the both of you remind me never to have a master ball, and should I get one destroy it immediately." Both of them nod, Evens holds out his hands for Zorua who hops down into them.

As the sky darkens Evens looks to the side of the road, "we had better make camp; I really do not want to sleep outside." While Evens was setting up the tent, he sent Zorua and Oshawott to get firewood. When Evens had finished he place rocks in a ring for the fire. Both Pokémon came back with a large bundle of twigs. Evens pulled of a box of matches from his backpack, "well I only have canned food, if that's alright with you guys?"

After eating Evens opened the tent for Oshawott to get in first, "I'll be in, in a second there's one last thing I have to tell Zorua." Yawning Oshawott rubs his eyes saying a good night to both of them before falling asleep on his blanket. "Zorua I just want to say that if I ever meet that pathetic excuse of a meat sack, I will see to it that he ends up eating through a straw for the rest of his life, the things he's done cannot be tolerated." Making her way to the tent Zorua looks Evens in the eye, "I hope that, that day will never come as much as he deserves it, he's just not worth the effort." Petting her head Evens smiles, "you're probably right, but if he tries to hurt either of you I'll make good on that theat." Entering the tent and curling up in her blanket, "I hope it doesn't have to come to that." Lying down on his own blanket Evens sleepily says good night to the both of them, getting a feint night back.

A fuzzy object brushes past Evens nose, he turns his head slightly, and the object brushes past his nose again, "he, he, he wake up its morning." Opening his eyes Evens is greeting with Zorua's tail brushing over his eyes, "can you stop, and I'm up already." Hopping off his chest Zorua exits the tent and sits by the smoldering ashes that were last night's fire.

"So master, what's the plan for today?" Evens gets out of the tent putting on his belt, "well I'd like to get to Striaton city today and challenge the gym." "And after that?" "Visit Professor Fennel, and ask her about her research." Confused Zorua asks, "I thought I told you everything that you wanted to know?" "You told me everything that you knew, she knows more." "What other questions do you have?" "Why, is there a reason that I'm here or was it just a random pick of the hat?" signing Evens begins to take apart the tent.

With everything packed up Evens brings out his Pokédex and accesses the map, "about another three hours before we get to Striaton city." Damn I really didn't think that there would be THIS MUCH distance between each town. Evens continue walking down the dirt path that leads to the next city.

Evens can see the buildings of the city before he sees the entrance gate. As he gets closer he notices a statue standing by the gates like a knight protecting a castle. When he's not but five feet from it does he notice that it is not a statue but a Pokémon. He brings out the Pokédex, "ok, since I don't remember what you are I might as well look you up."

Holding the Pokédex so it can get a visual of the Pokémon, the Pokédex displays the Pokémon's information page. "Golett, the automaton Pokémon: the energy that burns inside it enables it to move, but no one has yet been able to identify this energy, these Pokémon are thought to have been created by the science of an ancient and mysterious civilization." Putting the Pokédex back in his bag Evens approaches the Pokémon, "excuse me, do you know where the Gym and Pokémon center are in this town?" Tilting its head to the side Golett responds, "Are you asking me for direction?" Putting down Oshawott and Zorua, Evens looks around in a comical manner, "I don't see anyone else around do you?" Zorua bursts into a fit of laughter, Oshawott giggles at Evens performance.

Golett takes three steps to the middle of the road and points into the town, "the Pokémon center is the second street on the left and the gym is another street down." As Evens walks toward the Pokémon center Oshawott looks back at Golett, "master, why does Golett just stand there?" "It probably acts as a guide for all of the new trainers that enter the town."

Evens reaches the Pokémon center, picking Zorua up he makes his way to the counter. "Excuse me Nurse Joy can you please take a look at my Zorua and Oshawott, I want to know if they can participate in a gym battle soon." "Why of course." She motions for a stretcher, two Audino step out from a pair of doors with a stretcher. Placing the two on the stretcher Evens makes his way to the row of chairs, "I'll be waiting right for you guy's ok?" Both nod and disappear behind the doors. Evens sees a pay phone not too far from his seat, "might as while call Professor Juniper, and let her know I'm not dead." When he enters the booth he examines the piece of equipment, the in no discernible marking that indicate what each button on the interface does. He picks up the receiver, the display screen lights up along with each button. The display screen shows a number of names that Evens is not familiar with. When he touches his finger to the screen, "I guess it's like a touch phone, if that's it I wonder how the Professor is listed?" scrolling down to P Evens sees a list of Professors, locating the one he wants he double taps the name. The phone rings twice before the Professors image appears on screen.

"Hello, Professor?" "Yes the call is coming through, Evens how are you?" "I'm good I just made it to Striaton city." "That's wonderful, how is Oshawott doing?" "He's fine; I caught a Zorua on the way here." "A Zorua that must have been difficult." "You have no idea; well anyway I called to ask how many other people besides me have appeared in this region?" "I don't understand what you mean?" "Zorua told me about other people appearing in every region, I just want to know how many are in this one." "She did......well there's four others beside you." "Does one of them look like me?" "Yes why do you ask?" "Do you know where he is?" "No he doesn't call and he hasn't participated in any gym battles recently either." "How do you know that?" "Your trainer card notifies me every time you visit a Pokémon center." "As a way to keep track of us." "Yes, the other three are in other cities right now." "Well I think that's all that I wanted to ask." "Ok then call if you need anything else." "Will do." Evens hangs up the receiver and the image of the Professor turns off.

Audino comes out with Zorua and Oshawott sitting in the stretcher, "Oshawott is in good health and can participate in a gym battle; Zorua still needs one more day of rest before she is ready." Picking up both of his Pokémon he thanks Nurse Joy and the Audino. "Maybe I should ask Golett where I can find a motel around here." Nurse Joy rummages through some things behind the counter, she eventually brings out a key, "If you're looking for a place to stay for the night there are rooms available for you to rest in." taking the key Evens look around the lobby, "where are the rooms?" "Audino will escort you there now." Audino tugs of Evens shirt lightly to get his attention; she then leads him down a hall, all of the rooms he passes have trainers in them from what he could hear. Audino stops two doors from the end of the hallway, "sir this will be your room for the night."

Entering the room Evens looks around at his accommodations. The is one bed on the east wall, a bathroom with a sink and shower, a five by five foot hardwood table off in the southwest corner of the room, two chairs by the table, and a map of the region hanging on the wall opposite of the bed. Zorua hops out of Evens arms and curls up on one of the pillows, Oshawott lies down on the other remaining pillow. Evens sits down in the chair, "Zorua Oshawott get a good night's rest, because tomorrow we challenge the gym." Zorua turns her head toward Evens, "are you not going to sleep?" "I will in a little bit I'm just going over the game plan for tomorrow." "Shouldn't we be a part of the planning then, since we are the ones battling." "Don't worry the plan won't be difficult I just have to work out a few minor details." Turning her head back, "well you better get some rest too; don't want you falling asleep during the battle." "Alright just move over some, I need some pillow too." Noticing the digital clock on the table, the time shows 10:30pm. Evens flops down on the mattress falling asleep while still going over the battle plan.

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, "will someone turn of that damn alarm." Turning away from the noise Evens grabs the pillow he has his head on and squeezes it to his ears to muffle the noise. "Aww is the little alarm hurting the master?" "Zorua can you please just turn it off?" "Well the alarm is trying to tell you that it is time to get up." "What time is it?" "About 11:45." Bolting out of bed and rushing to the bathroom, "shit my gym battle!"

Evens showered and put on a clean pair of clothes and rushed out the door. Sprinting down the hall Evens runs out the door with Zorua and Oshawott trailing close behind. "Master wait you forgot your belt."

Stopping at the doors to the gym Evens rearranges his belt and opens the doors. The central lobby of the gym looks like the waiting area for a restaurant. The host looks at Evens, "Sir, are you here for lunch or a gym battle?" "A gym battle." "And who would you like to battle?" "Cress if possible." "Certainly, right this way." The host pushes a button on the wall behind him and a pair of doors opens revealing the gym arena. Evens walks through a stands on the challengers box area. Cress walks out of the doors opposite of him, "good afternoon challenger, I am Cress gym leader of Striaton city." He holds out two pokeballs; out of them appear Panpour and Lillipup. "These are the Pokémon that I will be battling with." Evens looks down at Zorua and Oshawott, "these two will be battling, and Oshawott will go first." Oshawott steps onto the battle field, Panpour hops into position. The referee stand at midfield, "this will be a two verses two battle and the challenger is allowed to substitute, is the gym leader ready?" "Of course." "Is the challenger ready?" "Yeah" "Battle Begin!"

The next chapter will have the conclusion to Evens first real battle. I'm also debating on adding a traveling companion. I'd appreciate any comments on this idea.
