The Patrol part 4
#7 of The Patrol
hey there this is part 4...I can't think off much to say so enjoy and please leave some feedback.
WARNING...there will be blood in this part so if you don't like that type of thing I don't recommend reading this. .........
Graves, Driver and Hunter were still sitting in the cave compleatly unaware of what was happening to Ghost. Graves had his LSW on his back and his left arm in a sling, he would have to use his M9 pistol and hope that it doesn't need to be reloaded. Driver and Hunter had just finished cleaning their SA80 A2's and had already shared out some rations between the three of them.
Hunter stood up and said in a comanding voice "ok you two we are going to get up to the top of that waterfall today, now because Graves was stupid enough to go get shot we can't climb it do we are going to go look for an easier way up ooh-rar?"
The two soldiers replied in union "OOH-RAR!"
Hunter then smiled and said "that's what I thought now let's move out." The three of them left the cave with Hunter ahead followed by Graves and finally Driver, they had their weapons ready just in-case what ever attacked them came back. The pain in Graves arm had dulled drmaticly but it still stung a little bit.
Hunter was feeling confident, they were caught by suprise last time but the weapon it used was only a bow of some kind so in a match against a SA80 there is no contest about which one will end up beating the other. All they had to do was get to a position where the gurrila tactics that it used won't work. For now it's best to hug the cliff face as to reduce the ammount of sides that they can be hit from.
*half an hour later*
The group of 3 men had finally found a suitable way up the cliff. They were now really far from the waterfall so where ever the path they they were looking at goes will have to do. The path in question looked almost like a mini vally going steeply up the Cliff in a zig zag pattern. It almost looked like it had been man made but the indents and formations of rock were just too natural for that to be true.
Hunter issued a few hand signals to Driver who nodded and put his weapon on his back and ran at a small part of the cliff then as he reached it he kicked off and used his momentium to boost himself up. He grabbed the edge and pulled himself up then looked around. He then turned to Hunter and issued a few more hand Signals who in return nodded. Hunter then tapped Graves and directed him up the path so they were walking side by side. Driver was walking alone the edge of the path alone the rocks so he could see if anything was creeping up on the others yet the while time remained in sight line so hand signals could be given to avoid losing all stealth by talking.
The three of then started walking up the path in hopes of getting to a higher point, maybe to get their bearings or maybe to try and get a radio signal. Drivers foot suddenly slipped on a lose rock and with lightning fast reactions he quickly corrected his balance and kept on going, but in the prosess he had grazed his right leg and drawn a small ammount of blood. He silently cursed but thought nothing more about it. As he looked around he saw that a little bit ahead on the path it gets far steeper and at some points a small climb will have to be made. But he though about crossing that hurdle when they got to it.

Far off into the thicks of the Forest Whitpen, Segolia, Doyel and Snake were all prone in a circle talking. Whitpen then said "Ghosts trail has gone cold, heh who was I kidding when I said we should track that man? I don't even know If it's possable to track Ghost."
Segolia then said "don't worry about it sir, we will find him" slowly over his mind he was replaying that message he heard 'save us from the darkness' what does that mean?
Snake then spoke up "I told you that we should have turned left back there. Heading deeper into the forest was a mistake."
Doyel then said "shh...I hear something." the 4 men dropped perfectly still and silent and listened. Doyel was right, voices could be heard. Whitpen signaled Segolia to take point. Then the 4 of them got up and slowly followed Segolia towards the sound. They kept slow and low while moving as to be as hard to see as they could. Their camo was blending them perfectly with the surrounding enviroment.
Segolia then Dropped prone and signaled the others over. He pointed through a bush that was right in front of them. Upon taking a look they saw someone standing there. But something was wrong about their image, it was human shaped and sized but had the features of a canine, a wolf to be exact. It looked almost like a werewolf with dark black fur. They were so close that they could see that it's eyes were blood red and it seemed to be just standing there.
Whitpen with a confused look on his face then saw a tree that would be easy to climb beside them. He got segolia to climb it and stand by. He then issued the other two to hold position with a little annoyance from Snake who had the thing in his weapons sights and was read to blow it's brains out.
Suddenly the wolf thing's nose twitched and it looked straight at the hiding place and said "you! The one hiding in the bush! Show yourself!" whitpens eyes widened. It could speak the same language as them? The wolf said again "Get up before I come there and pull you up by your throats." it then growled showing it's White fangs.
Whitpen knowing that they had been seen stood up with his hands out not holding his weapon "we have no hostile intentions. We are looking for a friend."
The Wolf then locked eyes with Whitpen then roared. "Your HUMAN?!?" then without hesertation the Wolf lunged at Whitpen and with un-natural streangth lifted him off the ground with one arm by holding his collar. "why are you here?!"
Whitpen coughed because he couldn't answer from his current state. Snake and Doyel were about to fire when the wolf said "if you two hiding in the bush do anything! I will break this ones neck." so reluctantly they did nothing. It turned back to whitpen then said right in his face "why are you here?! Are you trying to kill us?!" the wolves other hand then reared back ready to strike.
Suddenly there was a 'Ptid' sound and the wolves eyes went wide. Without a sound it dropped Whitpen and crumpled to the ground with half of it's head missing and blood and brains leaking out of the entrance wound and exit wound in the side of it's head.
Whitpen looked up the tree that Segolia had climbed and saw that a few meters of the ground Segolia was aiming his L115A3 sniper at where the wolf had been. He re-cocked the bolt and waved at him.
Snake and Doyel came up to Whitpen. Snake spoke first "what was your plan with that monster Sir?"
Whitpen then said "I was going to try asking it something, it could speak so I thought it would listen. "
Snake then said sarcasticly "great idea sir go talk to the human hating snarling beast." he turned to Segolia who was still in the tree "why did you get to kill it. I wanted to do that!"
Doyel then said "it did seen kind of strange to use your sniper at such a short range"
Segolia replied "you two did not have a clear shot, and I have not fired this girl in ages" he patted his sniper. But then looked into the Forest "Guys More are comming! I count 14 atleast get ready!"
Through the scope he could see more of the wolf/man creatures running towards their position. They probarly heard their comrade shouting then go quiet. Segolia aimed at one and shot it right in the eye making it an instant kill. The body dropped but the others didn't even care. They just jumped over it and kept of running at the 3 men.
Segolia pulled back his bolt then thought that they are getting too close to be using a bolt action weapon so he switched it for his SA80 A2.
The 3 men on the ground then saw the aproching hostiles and got the command "weapons free!" in that moment fully auto gunfire ripped through the Forest at the Enemy. Multiple of them dropped instantly but the others moved so fast that they were surrounding them before the first burst of fire hit them
Doyel with his LSW was spraying at them as they moved around the 3 off them struggeling to hit then because of the slow movement of the heavy weapon. Segolia was shooting at what he could see but they seemed to be ignoring him. Whitpen abd snake were back to back shooting out into the trees. The wolves were running circles around them. Probarly waiting for an opening.
Snakes weapon clicked and stopped firing. He checked it and saw that the mag was empty "reloading!!" within a couple of seconds he pressed the mag release catch and let the empty mag drop to the ground, he then pulled out a fresh 30 round mag and loaded it into his weapon and pressed the bolt releace catch and just in time shot one that had just leaped at him and was so close until it got a burst of rounds straight to the head and body.
Whitpen was being more ammo efficent. Only firing when he knew he could hit. This was working and the number of enemys was getting smaller and smaller. Until there was a howl and they seemed to run off into the trees.
The three men scanned the area still fully alert and just as they thought it was safe one more dived at Doyel. He didn't have time react and the Wolf pinned him with his claws and without a moments wait sunk it's teeth into Doyels throat and pulled, ripping his neck open. Doyel made a series of choking noices then fell and the wolf howled in victory before rushing at Whitpen and knocking him over. But whitpen With more battle knowledge quickly pulled out his knife and stabbed upwards into the wolves Jaw. The wolf yelped and screached in pain and rolled off whitpen rolling around on the floor bleeding.
Snake walked upto it and said "See you in hell!!" then but a bullet right between it's eyes. He then turned back to the body of doyel, Laying there oozing blood and quite clearly dead. Snake sighed and said "damn it!"
Segolia jumped down and reloaded his weapon "my Rifel needed reloading at the worst time...I couldn't save him...I'm..I'm sorry." he looked at his fallen friend then put a clenched fist over his own heart as a salut to the dead.
Whitpen said "there's nothing we can do for him now" he walked over to the body and pulled off Doyels dog tags come on we have to get out of here.
Snake then shouted "are we just going to leave him?!"
Whitpen shouted back "we leave him or we join him! Now move out soldier!"
Snake glared at his officer then said "Sir!" then the three of then ran away from the battlefield with heavy hearts about their patrol member they had lost. Snake then thought to himself "he served to protect, then died in some unknown place to some unknown monster for some unknown reason."

Hehe sorry if you liked doyel by the way but I just wanted to kill someone XD anyway I will defently continue this story line...it's fun just to sit down at night on my iPod and write stuff.
