Monster I Have Become

Christmas Special

**The whole thing is Ryun's POV, so no changes from the first couple of chapters.**

*So...I was searching around inside this empty space of yours...*

'What the hell did you do now Rukan?'

*I didn't do anything! Sheesh...anyway, I was searching around and I found a little memory of yours. So, you know about the day the humans call 'Christmas'?*

'Yeah...yeah, I do. Why?'

*Well, that memory kinda ended abruptly, and seeing as how I am a curious little devil, why don't you tell me about it?* (Love this line! XD)

'.........fine. I guess I can tell you. You are in my head anyway, so you're bound to figure out one way or another. It started on that exact day. I woke up, but I was in a place I didn't recognize.'

Flashback: Ryun is back to his childhood, and he has just woken up in a strange place filled with white flecks swimming through the wind and a white, soft ground

"What is this place? And what is with all this white stuff? It's getting all over my fur!"

"It's called snow, little one." I hear a voice answer my question. The voice sounded heavenly and it sounded like it carried on the wind, not from a specific spot.

"W-Who's there?" I stammer. "A-Are y-you a g-g-g-g-g-ghost?!"

A cute little giggle swam through the air with the wind and swam into my ears. It was such a heavenly sound that I relaxed everything instantly. 'You can't be mean or evil and have such a cute little giggle.

"No, little one. I am not a ghost." The voice said with a hint of amusement. "I am but a voice, but you, you are the important one here. You will grow to do many great things. But first, I must show you the true nature of most humans in this world."

"H-Humans?! NO! NO! I DON'T WANNA GO! I DON'T WANNA SEE HUMANS! LEAVE ME ALONE! HUMANS ARE MEAN! THEY ARE MEAN!" I screamed at the wind and the voice. But before much more could happen. The wind sped up, and the white flecks called snow flew around and around me. Encircling me in a white casing of snow. Then...they stopped. Everything just stopped. I heard a noise from outside and decided to investigate it. I poked the snow wall with my paw and, suddenly, the whole snow casing burst outward and the snow flew into the wind and disappeared.

"This, young one, is a human town. And before you go screaming your head off, let me finish what I have to say." The voice said to me. I tried to protest to the wind but the voice cut me off. "I know what you have been through. I know you remember those memories your mother thought you forgot. And before you ask..." She said to me, breaking her monologue to cut me off from interrupting her again. "Yes, I know your 'mother' is actually your aunt. Oh dear young one, you have nothing to worry about here, for nothing can see nor hurt you as long I have you here.

At that moment is when a large carriage pulled by Ponyta decided to come barreling around the corner of a building. It headed right down the middle of the road, which happened to be where I was standing.

I looked at it, unable to move out of fear. I was frozen in place, as was the same fate for, unbeknownst to me, a little human cub who had gone out to get a ball that had rolled into the street. I turned around when I heard the scream of terror from the little cub.

"Don't try anything, for you cannot interact with this world." I heard the voice whisper into my ear.

I stared on in fear for the cub as he stood there, paralyzed by fear, just as I was a second ago. Just when it seemed like no one would come save the cub, an Umbreon burst out of a window from a house and barreled toward the cub. At this point, many other villagers and their Pokémon had noticed the cub and the runaway carriage and were running toward him, but none of them were as fast as this Umbreon. He sprinted so hard towards the cub that if you were to be following behind him, you would notice his footprints in the ground covered in blood.

The Umbreon reached the cub just as the Ponyta did. I looked away, scared to see the outcome of such a disastrous occasion. But my curiosity tugged at me when I heard clapping behind me. I looked up and saw that the Umbreon had, most likely, lightly tackled the human cub to the ground and covered his body with his own. The Ponyta had run over them but hadn't stepped on them. Currently, the Ponyta were being untied from the carriage and led to what looked like a stable.

I looked at the cub and Umbreon and saw the cub fussing over the Umbreon's bloody foot pads. Before more could happen, the wind and snow surrounded me again and took me to a different scene.

I was in a house lit by candles. The cub and Umbreon were there, as were what I assumed to be the human cub's parents. I looked around the room and noticed that there was only this one room. A sink was in a right corner, a stove in the corner to the left of the sink, and a small tree that didn't even stand two feet tall was in another corner. The door to the outside didn't exist; there was just a doorway to the outside.

"Okay Timmy! It's time to decorate the tree! Get Umbreon and decorate the tree." I heard the adult human female say to the human cub.

"Mom! I told you already, his name is Murphy!" Timmy said to the woman.

"Okay, okay, son! I'm sorry! Now, go decorate that tree!" She said to the cub.

"Okay!" The boy said. He pulled out a short string of only three LED lights and then gave a tiny paper star to the Umbreon to put on the top of the small tree. He wrapped the lights around the tree and then the Umbreon delicately put the star on top of the tree.

It lit up and barely looked impressive, but still the cub danced around and sang songs I never heard of until that day.

"It's called Christmas. Humans celebrate it every year on this very day. It's a day of dreaming and hoping and being together. Look at this family..." I looked back at the little cub and his family as she continued. "They are poor, have no food, and have nothing but a single room house that can barely fit two people, let alone three and a Pokémon. Yet they still celebrate Christmas every year because their hope will never die. Their Umbreon? They found him on the street. He had escaped the forest because hunters had killed his parents. The humans may not know of this, but they knew he was sad and needed a place to stay, so they told him to stay with them. That was three years before this."

"Timmy, don't worry, I can tell on your face that you want to know what's wrong with Murphy and we know it has something to do with his parents. Don't worry; me and your father are trying our best to find his family!"

What are you talking about?" Timmy said. At this, I turned my head down and began to walk away.

'I knew it. All the humans are the same. They're all mean.' I thought to myself.

"What are you saying Timmy?" I heard the father from behind me.

"Why do we need to find his family? His family is right here!" Timmy said.

'What?' I turned around and see the cub hugging the Umbreon tightly.

"Do you see now little one?" I hear the voice again as the wind and snow once more surrounds me.

"Yes, I do. You're right. Not all humans are the same. Not all of them are mean." I answer the voice.

"Yes. And you will meet many of these nice humans when you're on your own journey through life. But be warned, for you will face many of the humans who are mean and they will not treat you like they treat others, they will treat you worse. You will need loyal friends and a pure heart and soul to get past these humans, for they will not relent their assault upon you unless you take action. Now, you must wake up and return to your world, for your friends are calling for you."

"Wait! Will I ever see you again?" I hurriedly asked the wind as more wind and snow began to collect and swirl around me.

"Maybe our paths will cross in the real world. But until then, you may never see me again. But that does not mean I am watching you little one. For I will always be watching you."

End Flashback

'So that's what happened.'

*.........wow. That was so......BORING! Why did I want to know about this? Oh my god I am turning into a softy! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!*

'Shut up Rukan! Goddamn, you always ruin these moments. Go screw yourself.'

*Gladly.*
