Christmas Wonders
Cleo was finishing her shift at the local zoo. When she applied, the management was hesitant to hire her because of her age. But Cleo could do one thing none of the other staff could. She could understand feral speak as she called it. Since she spent the first 8 years in Africa she had learned a variety of feral languages both vocal and body. This made her a natural. She literally just had to ask the animals what they needed. She quickly made a name for herself at the zoo. The animals trusted her and even the most dangerous ones treated her like one of their own. She got along really well with elephants especially the herd's matriarch Abena. Once the matriarch trusted her the other slowly came around. Now they treated her like of their own. She entered the elephant enclosure and got approached by a large female African elephant. It was Abena. The large elephant began to speak using her body language and a series of gestures however she did understand human speak.
"Hi there Abena How was your day?" Cleo greeted.
"It was boring little one. I hate it when it gets cold, and all these bright odd colored lights." Abena gestured.
"It's the Holidays, A time for celebration, like the start of the raining season" Cleo said.
"Its just another one of man's creations." Abena gestured.
"It's a fun time of the year" Cleo said as she filled her feeding trough.
Once all the elephant were fed Cleo drove home. The Christmas party went off without a hitch and it was time for bed. Just before Cleo got ready for bed she heard a thump on the roof and a crash. She walked outside and saw a female reindeer hybrid dusting herself off. She was about 6 feet tall not including her foot long antlers. She had the traditional fur color and pattern, toned body build, E cup breasts and a bright pink nose. Everyone else was still asleep so Cleo walked outside .She knew how to defend herself so if the doe got violent she was ready.
"Who are you and what are you doing in my yard?" Cleo asked.
"My name is Holly. I was flying by and crashed...." The doe said.
Cleo raised a brow and crossed her arms not convinced. Holly simply shrugged.
"I guess I'll have to prove it." Holly said.
She began to float off the ground and when higher than the trees. She gave Cleo a little show before crash landing again. She stood up and dusted herself off. Cleo stood there wide eyes. She was talking to a flying reindeer.
"What are you doing down here?" Cleo asked again.
"I left home since I don't belong. I am an embarrassment to my father." Holly said.
"Who is your father?" Cleo asked.
"Rudolph is my father. Though I don't deserve to be. My great grandfather was the original Rudolph...Every reindeer in my family was male and had a glowing red nose and a naturally great flyer. Until I was born that is. I am just a misfit." she answered.
Cleo understood where she was coming from. Once upon a time she felt the way Holly is now.
"You may find this hard to believe. But people used to tell me that I was a misfit. And I believed them. But my parents showed me otherwise. Maybe I can help you." Cleo said.
Holly raised a brow.
"You look pretty strong. If you can carry me I can coach you." Cleo said.
Holly smiled at her.
"Thanks though I think I should get home. I'll bring you to meet my dad. We'll get you home before everyone wakes up." Holly said holding out her hand.
Cleo thought about her offer. It was a once in a life time offer and she would be back before anyone could worry. Cleo took Holly's hand and the doe took off into the air. Cleo acted like a navigator guiding Holly.She felt her body tingle as she coach the flying doe. The tingling increased and Holly tighten her grip on her hand as their speed increased. Soon everything went blurry as Holly flew faster and faster. After a few minute she began to slow down and landed in a field of snow near a massive mansion.
"Where are we?" Cleo asked.
"We are home" Holly answered.
Cleo looked at the mansion and saw a buck hybrid flying out of the window. He was well toned and had a large set of antlers and a red glowing nose. It was Rudolph himself. He quickly landed in front of Holly and hugged her tightly. He was about 7 feet tail wearing black pants and a red vest just like Holly
"Where have you been? I was worried sick." he asked.
"I left...I thought you were embarrassed by me..." Holly said.
"Holly I am NEVER embarrassed by you and I NEVER will be. You're my little girl." Rudolph said.
Holly began to tear up up and she kept herself from crying.
"Dad this is my friend Cleo." Holly said.
Rudolph walked over to Cleo and shook her hand.
"Thank you for bring my daughter home Cleo." Rudolph said.
"It's my pleasure sir. It's an honor to meet you" Cleo said.
"Oh please no formalities just call me Rudolph, though it's almost midnight. We got to get you home. I'd take you myself but I have pulled the sleigh. Holly you can take her home and I'll meet you there." He said.
Holly was shocked.
"Dad, are you sure?" Holly asked.
"You brought her here and you bring her back. I'll meet you there." He said
Rudolph then took off back to the barn before Holly could question or protest. Holly turned to Cleo and offered her hand. Cleo took it and they flew home.
"I meant to ask how do you fly?" Cleo asked.
"Oh that's easy. We use magic." Holly answered.
After a few minutes they arrive at her house. Cleo felt an intense heat fill her body as she vanished into light particle. She then reappeared with Holly in her living room. Cleo then notices a huge professional drum set complete with amps and a microphones sitting near the tree. Koji was fast asleep under near by with some tools and the set up manual. It was clear he was up all night setting up the drums and fell asleep when he was finished. Hold waves a hand and Koji Levitated back to bed without disturbing Violet.
"Cleo I can't thank you enough." Holly said.
"There is nothing to thank me for. You did it all on your own. You're probably going to erase my memory now." Cleo said feeling a little disappointed at not being able to remember her new friend.
"No, Normally I would have to but it wouldn't be fair after what you did for me...So I won't." Holly said.
Cleo smiled. There was then a soft thump on the roof.
"One more thing Cleo." Holly said.
She then snapped her fingers and Cleo's clothes changed. She was wearing a red mini skirt and a red bikini style top and even a pretty red hat.
"You're an honorary reindeer, merry Christmas." Holly said as began to leave.
"Will I see you again?" Cleo asked.
Holly smiled.
"Yes, you will see me again, a lot sooner than you think." Holly said as she vanished.
Cleo was about to got to bed when Koji walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water. When he walked out he noticed Cleo's new outfit.
"Cleo, where did you get that outfit?" He asked.
"Dad, do you believe in magic?" Cleo asked.
They then hear bells and saw a red light moving off in the distance.
