Hockey Hunk fanfiction!

Hello everyone!

Here's a special treat for you today along with today's chapter - the very first Hockey Hunk FAN FICTION, written by the dedicated fan, Perrin Wolfbrother!!!! WOOT!

I was very delighted to read this story, which, while not canon, does closely adhere to the spirit of the story, and presents a funny, original scenario of his own making! The best thing about it is I think that he also wrote it in a personal style and did not try to mimic mine, which makes it even more creative. I think everyone should give a big round of applause to Wolfbrother for tackling the challenge! Thank you!

That said, don't forget to leave your comments once you've read the story - I am most curious to hear what you think about it, and I am sure that the same goes for Wolfbrother as well!

Have a fun read - and for once, I an say that I myself had one as well!

The mall was strangely crowded for a Wednesday morning, but that wasn't a problem for Cobb, his imposing stature and good looks made him cruise easily the corridors as most furs gave him space instinctively. It was a nice mall, full of shops of many kinds, but he obviously knew that, it wasn't his first time there shopping some presents for his big brother. The dobie had always liked to buy presents for him, it was nice to see his look when he got one and nothing made him more happy to see Victor pleased with something; well, he didn't submerge him with gifts, but he really should do something other than watching re-runs at his bro's home or searching for hidden embarrassing material in said house, so shopping was the best alternate to those activities.

The dobie wasn't sure on what to buy this time, he had bought some house ware the week before, people like his brother always need that to make home nicer and cleaner, and there was still a bottle of Johnny Walker to drink so alcohol wasn't good either . He could buy something for Rory, Victor's new boyfriend, he thought while glancing at a fancy clothes shop, maybe the violet scarf on that mannequin or some well fitting pants. No, that wouldn't do it, he didn't know the lion's measures. Maybe some furniture, he might like an animal shaped vase or something similar, they sure liked to decorate the house.

He was still thinking about what to do, when the solution appeared in the form of a big bookshop. Everyone loves a good book, and Rory seemed brainy enough to like one of them as a gift, plus it wasn't expansive and would stop Victor making that funny face and saying to not meddle too much in his life! The place looked nice from the outside, with many bookshelves and some comfortable armchairs in one corner for the costumers, as if Cobb was going to do his reading where anyone could see him!

As he entered the bookshop, a black Labrador behind the counter immediately greeted him, wagging his tail for the eagerness to sell a book to the new costumer.

"Welcome to Albrecht Brothers, my name is Alex. May I help you in some way?"

Cobb looked at him for a few seconds, noticing how the smaller dog was fit and had some pretty good muscles on him, though they were nothing compared to his or even his brother's; he liked to compare himself with other guy, it was good for his ego and pushed him to do more in gym so to be always the most hunky.

"Hey, I want to buy a book. It's a gift and I don't know what can go, since you work here you can help me figure it out!"

"I'm glad to help" the lab said, strangely not taken aback by the vigorous response and even leaning a little over the counter as to better stress his words, "it is our duty here at Albrecht Brothers. What genres have you in mind?"

"I don't know, I don't know him much, he's my brother's new boyfriend so maybe something about fashion or love. He went to Victor's match the other week, so maybe something on hockey can do!"

The dobie's ears flickered while speaking, waiting to see the reaction of the clerk; he hated when people didn't like Victor's sexuality, and he was always ready to defend him. Luckily the smaller dog didn't seem scandalized or angry, after all he needed to know for whom the book was for. He actually began to think, bringing one paw to his muzzle in a thoughtful gesture.

"We can search the Love the Differences section, or the Relationship Corner. Please, follow me."

He rounded the counter and made his way through the aisles, with Cobb in tow and still giving information.

"He seems to be a nice guy, and normal even if gay, and he puts a spring in Victor's step and not many things can do that. You have to see how cute he is when I ask about his new buddy, he is so shy that he doesn't say much!"

"Love can do that" the lab in shop clothes responded, " a friend of mine, Janine, was shy to tell anything about her new boyfriend, but I kept asking while doing spinning and in the end she opened up ! Nothing it's better than a good work out to make someone talk, and it's good for the body too!"

"It doesn't work for Victor, I tried to ask him after his hockey practice but he was still shy, I tried also after he paw"¦"

The buff dog was interrupted by the clerk, who had stopped at a particular shelf full of books with strange titles like "Half the Men are from Mars, the Other Half from Saturn", or "Discover Your Inner Drag Queen", which made Cobb flitch a little, but others like "Play with Your Prostate" seemed interesting, he had always wondered why Victor liked doing it in the butt so much.

"Ehehe, this seems the right section, I'll find the perfect book in no time, thanks buddy!"

"My work isn't finished," the black dog said with a smile, "now I must help you with the picking. You said that your brother and his boyfriend have been together for a short time, didn't you?"

He waited for a quick nod from the dobie before turning to the shelf and beginning to brows the various books, all the while keeping talking to his costumer.

"There are lots of new gay couple who search for books about relationship , they do their book shopping here because our downtown store hasn't a wide choice like we do, don't get me wrong the place is nice and the staff good but it isn't as big as us. Ok, do you think this book meets your requirements?"

Cobb examined the book just handed by the other canine, it wasn't big and had two furs, one Siberian tiger and one wolf, sitting on a bench and holding hands while looking in each other's eyes; above them the title recited "100 Advices for a Happy Homosexual Relationship". Perhaps it was a little sappy, but those guys liked sappiness, so this book was the perfect gift for Rory the rump ranger! His stub began to wag with excitement, he could imagine the lion's happy face after unwrapping the book, a present from his boyfriend's handsome brother; all these feelings showed in his voice while thanking the canine clerk.

"This is perfect, you're a life saver Alan! If I wasn't batting for the right team I would kiss you!"

"It's Alex" the lab said while escorting the very excited fur to the counter "and it's only my job to provide the best solution to the demands of our customers. Now I leave you in the capable hands of my shop assistant, Maria. Welcome to Albrecht Brothers, how can I help you?"

The sudden leaving of the lab, already greeting a dignified cheetah lady who had just entered the shop, bothered Cobb a little, but it soon passed when he saw the cute tiger girl behind the counter; from his vantage point he could see she packed a nice bosom, and Victor wasn't the only one in the family who liked cats, although his personal choice was on the pussy ones. He gave the book to the girl, her tail stilled a moment as she read its title.

"It's for my brother's boyfriend" he explained, so to quickly cancel the tigress's disappointment in seeing the hunky dobie on team Sausage, "they've just got together so I thought it would be nice to give them some hints. I can't do that, I'm not ready to give up nice girls like you hehehe, so his book will do it for me. Can you wrap it with that pink wrapping paper? Thank you! It's nice to see a new love blossom, and they are lucky that this is a big city and there are also a lot of places for them! Not that I went there, of course! How much is it? Here 30$, keep the change! Good day to you!"

Cobb exited the shop, holding the grand prize of the day in one huge paw, thinking that that tiger girl was sure pretty but also a little shy, she barely said a word! It had taken only a few minutes to buy the gift, but his belly reminded him that it was lunch time so he headed to the food court. He didn't bother to search for something fancy, thankfully there was a Burger King, and in no time he was munching a Triple Whopper, with another one waiting for its destiny along with a big portion of fries, all washed down by Coke.

While his jaws were busy doing their job, his mind was focused on the book; first thing, he should hide it so that Victor wouldn't know of it, if he saw it he would ask questions as he was always so curious and after all it should be a surprise to him as well. He should give it next time he saw the feline, he had already invited Rory to come over so it should happen soon, at least before he left on Saturday; the dobie had planned to get a good scotch for the occasion, probably it was best to present the gift after a couple of glasses, or better after he made some flamboyant cocktail like Appletini, people like Victor and Rory like those and they were actually good!

Cobb was sprawled on the couch, watching a re-run of Stargate SG1 after a day spent shopping and visiting the city; it was a fine way to spend time, he loved that show and its perfect combination of sarcastic jokes, hot actresses and space battles. He didn't like the last spin off, it was so serious and full of talk, the original series was much better!

The team was on the verge to defeat the evil space overlord when he picked up the sound of keys being fished outside the door; he sat up straight, his ears flicking, just in time to see the big mass of towering dobie who was his brother entering the house.

"Hey Victor, it was about time you come back from office. Had a good day at work?"

Victor stared at him for a second, some tiredness of the day showing in his posture but not keeping a small smile to show on his muzzle.

"The work was fine, nothing different from the usual. How was your day?"

"Nothing special, watching TV and scratching my big ass." He replied while standing up to properly greet his twin. "I took your car this morning, you didn't need as you went to work with the bus, and I went to that mall at Stepford to take a look to the shops! Did you know it has a fantastic bookshop? It's new and sooo huge!"

Victor's ears moved a little at the mention of the mall, a frown creeping on his face while putting his coat away.

"No, I didn't know, I hope you didn't buy more presents for me and, especially, for Rory, as I told you."

"No, I didn't" Cobb said with an exasperated voice, "I bought some steak for dinner, you really should quit that diet and treat you well, you're already fat and some pounds more won't make any difference!"

"I'm not fat! I just need to control what I eat, that's all."

"You fags are always concerned with your waistline. Or maybe you're doing it for your butt buddy Rory?"

Victor didn't bother to respond, he just shot a glare to his smirking twin.

"All right, it's not for your boyfriend, but seriously you are ok, why do you need to starve yourself? Beside, I'm here so we need to celebrate!"

"You have been camping here for more than a week, that's hardly something to celebrate."

"But we need to celebrate my bringing of some fun in your sad life!" Cobb said, locking his brother into a bear hug.

"Lemme go! Can I have some peace in my house? I haven't taken off my suit yet! Lemme go Cobb!"

"Ok, ok, I let you go and take a shower, you stink after a day sweating in office!" He let Victor escape his deadly grip, but not before asking a simple question: "Any news from Rory?"

"No, no news from Rory, why you keep asking about him?"

"I'm just curious, you don't speak of him to me so I need to ask questions. When will he come over?"

"I don't know" Victor answered, his paw massaging the bridge of his muzzle.

"You should phone him and pick up a day, I want to see him, drink some scotch or beer and have a little chat before I return home" , the dobie said, the very idea of meeting the lion again putting a goofy smile on his face.

"Why are you so fixed in having Rory coming over?" the suited up brother asked with a mildly annoyed expression.

The question stopped Cobb's avalanche of words, and made him pause a moment to give some gravity to his reply. He was always cheerful and full of life, but he knew that some time he needed to be serious, and Victor deserved it this time; he just loved him so much, he knew that he hadn't a simple life and he tried every time to cheer him up by being a little clownish, so it was sometimes difficult for his twin to take him seriously.

"I just want to know him, he seems to be a good guy but I saw him only once and that's not fucking enough to picture him out. I want to be sure he is the right one for you and that he will not hurt you like that jerk."

He sat on the couch, trying to find the right words to express himself; he had never been so good with them.

"You invested a lot in the relationship with that "¦ Ian? Isaac? Whatever, with that scum of a tiger. I know you were happy with him, but he hurt you when he left, I don't want it to happen again, you don't deserve it. So" Cobb continued, locking his gaze on Victor "I need to know Rory a little, to be sure he is a proper dude and he won't fuck up."

Victor kept his eyes on his twin, a hit of affection in them, his expression still and his voice calm.

"I'm glad you worry for me and I appreciate it, but I'm a grown up fur and capable of deciding what to do with my life. That means I must endure the consequences of my errors, and obviously being with Ismail was one of them."

He sat beside Cobb, the physical proximity helping him in his explanation; he loved his brother, although he sometimes made a fool of both him and himself and embarrassed him to no end, but he was brighter than most people thought and also caring. But God helped him, he needed to stop putting his nose in his love life! Things with Rory were just at the beginning, and Cobb was just too much to digest for the poor lion.

"Listen Cobb" he resumed his talking, speaking with his usual rumbling tone "you don't have to worry. I learned a lot from Ismail and I'm not making the same mistakes. I'm just dating Rory right now, we aren't together so if things don't work out I won't be devastated. Now, are we clear on the Rory subject?"

"Yeah" was the simple response from Cobb.

"Good, I'm going to strip off and take a shower. Can you start cooking? I think I'll pass salad and rice for tonight, just in honor of your steak."

The straight dobie waited for his brother to be in his room before rising, padding toward the chicken to make dinner. He understood Victor's speech, he wasn't a pup and must make mistakes by himself, but it was his duty as a brother to make sure he was happy. The book seemed more and more the perfect gift: it would help cementing their relationship and give Rory the idea of not screwing things up.

As he prepared cooking the magnificent pieces of meat he bought in the afternoon, he began to plan how to lure the big cat into the dobie's lair; he would not ask personal questions, only spending time chatting with him, maybe he could explain him some of prostate facts he searched on the web when he had returned home, just to make some innocence conversation.

"It's gonna be one hell of an evening" he thought to himself, a big smile stretching on his muzzle.
