Kael gave a soft sigh in his Master's coils as he curled in close to them. "What's wrong mousie?" Zurui asked quietly while snuggling close to the male's back, his coils shifting slowly to fill the surrounding nest-like bed as the cobra gently embraced his mouse.
"Do I have to go through all of that every week?" Kael whispered softly, his hand coming up to gently rub at his shoulder. Already, the fang marks on his shoulder had sealed up and scarred over, a product of the venom to be sure. It had only been four days since the marking had occurred and yet Zurui's mark was already growing into his fur. Black lines contrasting against the white fur on the mouse depicted the clan's mark.
"Well I can promise that next time it will be much more...or maybe I should say less effective..." Zurui pondered for a moment before nuzzling in against the rodent's neckfur lightly. "Marked slaves have a resistance to the venom's effects. Next time you'll only feel the bite and most slaves don't tend to be paralyzed for the days after like the first mark." Zurui explained quietly before gently rubbing his rodent's belly, his scaled palm gliding gently over ivory fur as the cobra closed his eyes and kept the mouse snuggled securely against his chest.
"You feel up to going out and about today mousie?" Zurui whispered softly.
Kael gave a slight nod and rolled himself over to nuzzle under the cobra's chin. "Yes Master." Kael said with a playful smile.
"You're gonna turn into another Kris aren't you?" the serpent hissed softly.
"Hmm?" Kael murmured softly while curling in close to the naga's chest.
"Nothing." Zurui murmured softly while nuzzling down against the rodent's ears. "Let's go Kael, I need to see my brother today." Zurui whispered into the boy's fur.
"M'kay." Kael mumbled before sitting up and stretching a bit. In the gentle light of the morning sun Kael's fur was brightly white with the exception of a small flare of pink flesh at the mouse's waist.
"Mousie do you need to deal with something first?" Zurui asked while moving to hug the mouse from behind, one hand lightly running through the mouse's chestfur while the other lowered to give the mouse's sheath a light squeeze. Scales dragged against the sun-baked ground, digging grooves into the dirt as long slender coils made their way across the landscape slowly, accompanied by two servants. One was an equine, muscular build accented with chestnut brown fur. The second servant was obviously a prey creature. A mongoose with white fur walked behind the equine, his hands bound in front of him with a leash held firmly in the equine's hand. "How far are we slave?" "No more than a few hours' journey Mistress Nazare." The horse replied with a light flick of his tail.
"Good." The viper replied simply, her tailtip twitching against the dirt as she slithered a bit faster.

"Kael, you may wait here with Kire." Zurui said while setting his palm on the mouse's head with a smirk. "Catch up with each other for a bit while me and my brother do the same." Zurui added with a smirk.
"Yes Master." Kael said with a soft churr before he pounced Kire and hugged him tightly. The mice quickly began to chat as Zurui slipped into the room with his brother.
"This is the last time Zurui..." Kaji said quietly from his bed. Zurui nodded as he joined his brother, slowly working to entwine his coils with his sibling's. Zurui waited a second before lightly nuzzling against Kaji's chest with a soft hiss. Kaji let out an equally quieted hiss as he hugged his brother close and lightly squeezed his coils against his brother's.

Her scales were an almost sandy tan base color with dark brown spots spaced along her coils, each spot was outline with a black ring and towards the last third of the viper's body these spots faded gradually back to the sandy base color until they disappeared completely in her coloring. Her face was cold and emotionless, unreadable to any that would look upon her.
"You will be bonded to my son, Zurui." One of the elders said as he leaned forward from his coiled position along the outside of the circular room. "As was agreed by both of our clans." He added as he looked her over. "You will be expected to submit to him and consummate this bond within a month." He added with a cold glare. "I must caution you Nazare. If anything should happen to my son by your hand I"
"You will do nothing Kuroi." Came an equally cold voice from across the room, a second elder giving the first a soft hiss as his hood flexed out. "Apologies Mistress Nazare, Kuroi has always been very protective of his first clutch." The second elder added. Although truthfully Zurui's clutch was the second from the male and his mate but the clan did not consider a clutch of females to be viable for an elder's first hatchlings. "I do agree with him to an extent though. If anything should happen to him by your hand you should be prepared for a swift and violent retribution to not only you, but your clan as well. Keep this in mind while you are here." The elder said in a less threatening tone than Kuroi's.
"I understand Elder." Nazare said with a light bow of her head, her tone calm and collected as she waited before the four elders. To the left an albino elder, the third of them to speak looked back to Kuroi and nodded.
"I feel you should be acquainted with our names. I am Byaku, Kuroi there is the father to our clansmen to whom you are betrothed. To his right is Kurenai." Byaku motioned to the first elder to address Nazare as he spoke. "And last but not least is Aoao." Byaku motioned to the remaining elder whose eyes gleamed with a verdant green hue.
Nazare nodded once and spoke quietly. "It is an honor to be in the presence of the elders of the Kurokiba." She said before falling silent again.
"You flatter us." Aoao said as he leaned back once more. "Kuroi, where is your son?" he asked, turning himself to face the other.
"He has been summoned. He has been increasingly busy taking care of his newly marked servant, I am sure that he will be along as soon as possible." Kuroi added. Mere seconds after the elder finished speaking the doors to the chamber were opened slowly and Zurui slithered inside, his hood flexed out as he made his way into the chamber only to stop and look Nazare over. "Speak of the devil and he shall appear." Kuroi said with a faint smirk painting his lips.
"Father, Elders." Zurui said softly, bowing his head slightly to each of them.
"Nazare, Zurui. Zurui, this is Nazare. From this day forth in the eyes of both of our clans you two are bound by this inseparable bond. If any of these elders should have an objection to this union of my son to this female may they speak now or forever hold their silence before this bond." Kuroi said while flexing his hood out. All four of the elders looked upon the pair and nodded once, their hoods spreading as well as they hissed their approval. "Hearing no objections your lives are hereby bound to each other in the eyes of this council." Kuroi added after a moment.
Zurui looked to Nazare and back to his father before bowing his head again. The viper copied his actions, keeping her head bowed until the elders spoke once more. "You are both dismissed and this meeting is adjourned." Aoao spoke, his hood relaxing back against his neck once more along with the rest of the elders.
Zurui nodded and turned to Nazare. "Follow me." He said in a hushed tone as he turned to the door and began to make his way from the chamber, the viper following closely behind. It took the pair a few minutes to return to Zurui's chambers. When they arrived Nazare slipped in front of Zurui and cut his path off.
"I assume you will be wanting to consummate this bond of ours soon?" Nazare asked, her eyes narrowing on his.
"I will consummate it when I am ready. For now you may use the bathing halls down the corridor on the left." Zurui said in a chilling tone.
"I see. Then I will return in an hour." Nazare said with a scowl before turning to leave the room once more.
"Sir?" Kael spoke softly, his ears splayed back as he sat in the corner of the room.
"Hmm? What's up mousie?" Zurui said in a softer tone as he looked over to the mouse.
"Sir, who is she?" Kael asked with a light quiver in his tail.
"My new mate." Zurui said with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
"Oh..." Kael said, lowering his head as his ears splayed back.
"You're not being replaced mousie..." Zurui said while hugging the boy tight. Kael hugged his owner tight and nuzzled against him. "You are going to have to wait outside when she gets back though. I'm going to have to do something I was hoping I could avoid." Zurui said softly.
"Sir? Is there anything I can do to help?" Kael asked with a light nuzzle to the naga's shoulder.
"You can call me Zurui mousie." Zurui said with a soft smile. Kael could only smile back but he knew something was off. "Now I need you to go do a few errands for me mousie." Zurui said softly before releasing the mouse. "Her servants are down with Kyuushi, I need you to go down there and show them to the room they will be in. It's down the hall on the right, two doors down." Zurui said softly before patting the mouse's shoulder lightly.
As Kael nodded and walked out into the hallway there was no way to be prepared for what was to come. Moments after he rounded the corner, headed for the 'prey pantry' as its residents affectionately called it, Nazare came back into the hallway and re-entered Zurui's room. Kael continued to head for where he knew Kyuushi would be. In the corridor he passed a chestnut stallion he had not seen before but quickly disregarded it as he moved into the room. What he saw in the pantry he was not prepared for at all. Kyuushi laid sprawled on the floor, her coils limp and her neck bleeding openly. Over her a white mongoose stood, blood staining his fur as he panted for a few seconds before looking up at Kael.
A malicious grin crossed his muzzle as he took first one step, then another towards the mouse. Kael whimpered in disbelief and backed away slowly just before the mongoose broke into a full run at him. He flinched just as the mongoose lunged at him, his eyes closing as he cowered before a metallic thud was heard. When he opened his eyes he saw the same mongoose, a fresh wound on his forehead bleeding out as he twitched on the floor. "Kael, where is Zurui right now?" the mouse heard from his side. He looked up to see Kris standing there, holding a frying pan in his paws as he stood there.
"I...I..." he stammered.
"Kael! Focus, he's being targeted." Kris shouted as he dropped the pan to the floor.
"He's in his room...waiting on his mate..." Kael said breathlessly. All at once it clicked in Kris' head. "Nazare wasn't a peace offering, she's an assassin." Kris whispered before grabbing the mouse's arm. "C'mon we have to go to the elders now." Kris said as he dragged the mouse behind him, sprinting through the halls.

"Nazare. You're back sooner than I expected." Zurui said softly as he gently took her waistline in his hands, pulling her close.
"I wish to consummate this bond." Nazare said softly, her arms coming up to wrap around the cobra's shoulders.
"I see." Zurui said softly as he moved his coils to slowly entwine around the female. Nazare leaned in close, resting her chin on the male's shoulder for a second with a slight smirk. Zurui embraced her lightly, leaning in to lightly press his nose to her shoulder. All at once the cobra's coils went taught and a pained hiss broke the silence in the room. Zurui's eyes wavered as he looked at the wall past Nazare, his coil's going limp a second later as he began to slump. From his shoulder the female gave a soft hiss, her jaws biting down on the male's shoulder, a pair of muscles in her upper jaw flexing as a golden liquid oozed from her fangs into the cobra's shoulder. Zurui gave a soft shuddering breath before slumping to the ground completely, his breathing shallow and his body limp.
"My mother died because of your father." Nazare hissed loudly, her eyes narrowed on Zurui's limp form. "Now my clan will have their revenge on him." She said before wiping her lips on her arm as the door behind her creaked open slowly.
