Parallel Possible Paths Past Previous Personae - by The Python, Amethystine

~

Nayana was a wolf of purest shining white. Who ventured into the woods one day at first light.

She searched the thick forest for excitement for her desires could be described as 'pent'

The wolf did not lust for rapture she just wanted an adventure!

Soon enough, her path reached a fork into three each way was obscured by the shade of a tree

As she pondered and paced around on her paws her tail flicked and swung as she thought out their flaws

Then from out of the tree, there came a sly voice: "If you'll heed my wordsss, I'll help you with your choice"

The owner of the words slithered out and slunk down through the branches and wound around the trunk

The serpent spoke and stared straight at the girl, "In my mind, I sssee your future unfurl"

She said, "Please, tell me where these three paths go," wondering if the snake was friend or foe.

'One leads to the sea where you would soon be, lured by a shark into the dark, turned to koi as his toy, his pet I fret.'

The wolfess wondered about a watery life before she shook her head no, she was no shark's wife!

She asked the python, "What lies on the path to the left?" He took a moment to form his tale, shifting his heft.

'On the left path is my domain where I will want you to remain, I will use lotions and oils to give you smooth scales and coils. But it's nothing so dire to live live deep in my mire, if you deign to stay I'll show you the way, to slide and slip to grab and grip. For-ev-er leave never. Your hiss-- I'd miss.'

Nodding, Nay thought on being a snake it was cool, but more than she could take

"I am so sorry, serpentine sir, I simply cannot. I'd soon want to wander again, a need that can't be fought."

Still calm and cool, the reptile agreed, he'd find another to fill his need.

On the third path, he launched into talking, Most likely wanting to set the girl walking.

'The last path is that of a bug whose huge web might wrap you up snug, the arachnid lies in wait but don't fear this silken fate, after a lengthy spell he'll rip away your cell. He frees all his prey and sends them away. We don't know why but if you try, you can go just to know, what his deal is.'

Nay was puzzled and so she enquired, "He'll let me go, no fighting required?"

The tree dweller nodded and began to withdraw, his retreating snout was the last thing that she saw.

His last hissing words were heard and not seen, "Take care to not go back to where you've been!"

Nay thought that her choices were quite easy, she'd not want to be finny or squeezy.

To encounter the monstrous spider, would sate the explorer inside her!

She took the last route, with nary a doubt.

She would finish her roam, and then go right back home.

The forest soon grew in around her tight, making the sunny day seem much like night.

To see clearly, she had to peer, her white hackles prickling with fear.

So focused on the trail ahead, she did not see the old log, dead.

Nay tripped and forward she vaulted, but her fall was suddenly halted.

As she hung there, it was out of the norm as nothing at all seemed to hold her form.

The wolf was stuck in something she could not see when she detected the scent of some sweet tea.

Unable to move all but her head, she began to see each sticky thread.

Soon, the spider came along and he was humming a song.

Nay was hardly impressed, she had thought she'd be stressed.

Instead the spider was slight and even a bit polite.

The only thing he did that left her unnerved, was how his eight eyes caused her to be observed.

In return, she watched him work something about him made her perk.

The sheen of his carapace, the shape of his little face, his smoothness and grace.

Thoughts of arachnid, insect, throughout her mind did infect.

She envied how very exotic they were, she wished that she could do away with her fur

In his grand old web, he wrapped her all up, before he was done, he offered a cup.

It was full of the tea she had smelled, since the moment she had first been felled.

Any fear she had continued to shrink, as the spider kindly helped her to drink.

The spider's work was all over and done, but the web looked quite flawed. He had made empty silken shapes around her, each more and more odd.

As he covered her head, his project was finished. Nay's sense of the forest suddenly diminished.

Left quite cocooned and all alone, in crept feelings that caused her to moan.

The wolf began to feel a deep buzz down in her gut and up her fuzz.

Her little world was set to spin, while the web tightened on her skin.

As she kept struggling strongly about inside, one could see changes being made to her hide.

The extra webbing he attached to her, balled up in blobs, started to wriggle and wiggle, making shivers and bobs.

The clump on her tail, did shake and did flail.

As if there was suddenly more to see underneath, as if there was something the tea and silk did bequeath!

It happened in every thick thread, the transformation through her, sped.

After what felt like the whole day, the stands were quickly stripped away.

The arachnid was exposing her brand new shell, after what certainly WAS a very long _spell_.

Many new sensations slipped in to reach hers as she examined her many new features.

With antennae, she was now crowned, new alien feet upon the ground.

Her pure fur, into chitin, was merged, new limbs: claws for preying, wings that surged.

The then former mammal could never have been more pleased with how easily into her new body she eased.

Self discovery on the level of an Atlantis, Nay had just become a beautiful new Orchid Mantis!

Epilogue:

Nay returned from her quest, from the spider's dark nest. With many new plans, that would last great spans. Thoughts of tea, silk, bugs and their ilk. She would show how they glow. How cool, bugs rule!
