Xavian was still having a hard time walking down the stairs, the extra three feet of body and two new legs were making life a little difficult. At nineteen years of age, Xavian had finally undergone the Animation, a time when the body takes on animal characteristics. When he didn't change when puberty started, as was the normal time for most males, his family started to worry. When combined with the fact that his father's side of the family had early animations in males, they worried even more.

He was a "late bloomer" as one of the specialists termed him, and a very dangerous one at that. Xavian's transformation had taken over a full month to complete and was the most painful experiences that he had ever been through.

But then again, Xavian thought as he maneuvered down the stairway, I like the end result.

Xavian had become what the Animation Specialist referred to as a genetic fluke, something that happens only once in five generations. Xavian had become a feline taur. He stopped at the landing and ran a hand down his foreleg, still amazed at how soft the grey fur streaked with black felt, feeling the muscles underneath it ripple with his movement. He liked how this body was starting to feel more like his own than it originally had.

However, there was one thing he could do without. And that thing was his younger brother Orobi who had chosen that moment to jump on his brother's back and wrap his arms around his torso.

Orobi was younger than Xavian by seven years, but had gone though the Animation already, sporting a long fluffy ringed lemur tail and matching ears. Xavian grunted as his younger brother's slender frame settled abruptly on his back.

"Come on Xav, let's go!" Orobi yelled. Xavian looked over his shoulder at his diminutive brother. Orobi was grinning from ear to ear, his delicate features framed by his wild, spiky white hair. Though his brother was by no means heavy to him, Xavian sat down, making his brother slide down his back.

"Oro, stay off my back."

"Awwwwww," whined Orobi, "please just one ride?"

Xavian pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and looked at his brother's horrible attempt at puppy dog eyes. Then he sighed and stood back up.

"Alright, but just a short one, Marshell is on his way over and I don't want to have you riding me around like a pack animal when he shows up."

Orobi quickly clambered back onto Xavian's back and Xavian resumed walking back down the carpeted hallway to the kitchen. The carpet changed to tile and Xavian clicked as he walked to the island in the kitchen where his mother was looking over something on the laptop.

"Okay, off Oro."

Orobi slid off with and "Awww, man." And slumped over to their where mother sat.

"So I see you are well enough to give your brother kitty back rides." She looked up at him, revealing her Siberian husky fur coloration and her piercing blue eyes and raised an amused eyebrow at her son.

Xavian stuck out his tongue at her as he opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of soda.

"He better not get used to them. It is hard enough not tripping over myself without him on my back," he replied as he popped open the top and walked over to them.

"Just think of it as testing your coordination." Orobi said, giving his brother another obnoxious grin. Xavian lifted one of his heavy forepaws and gave Orobi a gentle shove into the chair behind him. Orobi's tail got underneath his foot as he stepped backwards; leaving him sprawled on the kitchen floor.

"I need to work on my coordination? You have had that tail for like two years and you are still stepping on it."

"Xavian!" His mother reprimanded. Xavian quickly bent over and hauled up his brother by his shirt collar.

"Sorry mother. You okay Oro?'

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just gotta remember you have a mean right hook now."

Their mother chuckled as the clock on the wall chimed the time.

"Xavian, when is Marshell supposed to be here?" Oro asked.

"Half an hour from now," he replied, draining the soda.

"And you still have nothing to cover with do you?" his mother asked him as he walked to the garbage.

His mother was right. He didn't have anything to cover his back end with unless he wanted to look like he was dragging a table behind him. Xavian first felt embarrassed walking around the house unable to cover up his maleness, but as he got used to the new body, he found that it didn't bother him as much anymore.

"Mom, right now the problem isn't covering me up, it's finding something I can actually wear."

His mother sighed and looked back to her laptop screen and Xavian wandered back into the hallway with Orobi right behind him.

"So have you told Marshell you finally changed?" Orobi asked him as he turned into the family room. Xavian shook his head,

"He knows I started, hell the whole school knows I did seeing as I missed over a month of school, but I haven't told him how......much I changed."

Xavian pulled some pillows off the couch and arranged on the floor so he could comfortably lay down and watch tv.

"Well have you got something planned?"

Xavian grinned and nodded.
