A Call to Peace
With it being the holidays I wrote this thinking about what's been going on in the world from the Virginia Tech shooting, to soldiers over seas and problems within families. It's the holidays, open your minds and your hearts to what this time of year really means.
It's time to put anger and hate to rest.
Put your best foot forward and put the guns down.
Drop the flags of war and put up White flags of peace.
Wars go on at home torn from religious beliefs, Sexuality, racial intensity, and politics
Kids end up getting hurt the most from the fighting going on at home at school.
Friends turn on friends some lose blood others lose life, while others take life
It's not right for a father to bury a kid, especially his son or daughter
These wars have to stop.
It's not a call to arms it's a call to Peace.
Let the bugle sound and hear silent night play
Lower the flags and hold hands, put differences aside
And cross boundary lines, stand for peace and put hate aside.
It's Christmas time.
Whether you celebrate Christmas or Ramadan, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, whatever you believe
It's the time of year for peace to bloom and hate to cease.
Look for your heart to find love and hold your hand out for someone else to take.
Sing some carols and share some merry time, pass the hot cocoa and swap stories.
