The begining of a journey that starts with an aquisition of great power, and ends with a battle for the fate of the universe.

Long ago, before the advent of space technology and the merging of human and alien societies, there once existed spirits that could meld their own souls with those of humans', giving the humans the power beyond that of a monster. For a short time, these spirits fused with humans so that the frail race would stand a chance against the monsters that haunted the Earth. These humans binded with the souls of the fusion spirits were known as harmonixers, and could fuse their own soul with that of any monster to gain strength. But one day, a harmonixer got greedy and thirsted for the power of a god. He fused with many souls, becoming immensly powerful. Before he could make himself immortal, the other harmonixers gathered against him and sacrificed themselves to destroy him. It was thought that, on that day, the last harmonixer was killed. But one survived, and only one. Knowing that the last fusion spirit on Earth resided within his own, the harmonixer used his power to seal himself away until such a time came as would require his aid...

Many years have passed since that day, and many things have changed. Now, humans fequent with alien species, and no monsters exist to powerful to be overcome. Many aliens reside on Earth, but only one was lucky enough to discover the hidden chamber of the harmonixer. A young, black chuian, Flud would be blessed with a powerful gift, one that would soon be needed. For, as Flud entered the harmonixer's chamber, a great and evil soul found itself among the living: Daridur, the very same harmonixer that craved the power of a god. Except now, in death, he has attained that power...

A HARMONIXER'S JOURNEY

CHAPTER 1: A Sleeping Power Awakens

Flud coughed as he slinked through the tunnel, unaware of his proximity to a power beyond belief. He had, by fell chance, fallen down a hole. Unable to cimb out, Flud decided to explore the tunnel system at the bottom of the hole. Already he had been searching two hours for an escape, but so far he was only lost.

Flud was, for the most part, a short chuian. He was only 3 feet tall, and that, combined with his mousy features, often caused others to mistake him for an oversized rat. However, like most chuians, Flud didn't mind what other thought of him. Anyone who actualy took the time to look at him would be easily swayed by his cuteness and charm. Such was the chuian way.

Flud rounded a corner and flopped onto his back, exhausted. He hadn't eaten for hours prior to falling down the hole, and after all his walking, Flud was on the brink. His hearing dimmed and his sight faded. Flud was sure he would die down there, alone and forgotten, never found and given a proper rest. In fact, he would have died there, had not his chosen resting spot been the same chamber Jeryi was sealed within.

Jeryi, having grown weak from his isolation, was himself on the verge of fading from existance. Hundreds of years of not using his power had caused it to dim, and soon he would never be more than a hallow spirit. However, he could sense the presence of the chuian, and while at first he did not react, Jeryi could feel Flud's pain. Seeing it as a way to pass on the power that was formerly his while also saving a life, Jeryi manifested himself to physical form and approached Flud.

Flud, having fell comatose in his condition, didn't detect Jeryi's arrival. Jeryi knelt by the prone figure and gauged the power of his soul. "Your not human'" muttered Jeryi in his own tongue, "But your spirit is strong. And maybe, just maybe, just strong enough..." Jeryi drew a line down Flud's chest. The line parted, revealing the embodiment of his soul, a small, blue flame. Jeryi, having the appearance of a brown haired human for the last time, allowed his body to dissapear, leaving only his soul, and orange flame, which slowly floated down to join Flud's in his body. A bright light filled the room as the two spirits bonded together, and Jeryi allowed himself to finally rest, having passed on his power to another worthy of it's use. When the chuian awoke, Jeryi would teach him fusion, but right then, both he and Flud needed to recover. So, for the next few hours, Flud slept, and Jeryi watched over him.
