Ferret Chronicles- Then we met.
"I just don't have the gas" said Maria, my cow roommate indifferently. Her guy friend who she "wasn't" dating had just graduated as a super super senior. Tyler was a sarcastic asshole of a alligator but also a very close friend of ours, Anyway Maria had this idea to drive to Portland to pick up said alligators best friend. A ferret wed never met in person but had talked to on the phone the last two years, Maliwakee. "Well I could pay for gas? I mean I wanna see the look on Tyler's face when his best friend shows up to his house" I said giggling. Maria looked at me a moment and pulled out her phone and called Maliwakee. I listened to her tell me the address and wrote it down, all the while thinking. I had a crush on Maliwakee when we first started talking but I let it go cuz I never thought we'd meet. I couldn't help but wonder what would happen.
Maria and I got into her car for our road trip to pick up Tyler's furry friend, Three hours. We got lost once or twice but we finally got there. He was there waiting, and I felt my heart skip a bit as both me and Maria said in unison "Damnnnnnn". I had already hopped in the back so he could ride shot gun, and as I predicted Maria put her flirty game face on. I sat back and listened to her chat him up, I could never really conversant well and my voice was so quiet anyway no one could ever hear me, especially with the music turned up. I saw maliwakee look at me a couple times, which made me smile but I continued to remain quiet. Maria was blasting country but turned to maliwakee and asked "what type of music do you wanna listen to?" I could hear her trying to tempt him "I usually listen to rap..." he said quietly, I wanted to laugh Maria doesn't listen to rap. "Hmmmm I don't have much of that..." I could hear the frown in her voice "..if he has an mp3 player he could use your adapter.." Somehow I was heard cuz maliwakee pulled out his mp3 and handed it to me "..why?.." I asked looking confused. He laughed and said "you're in charge" I smiled and looked through his music putting on Mc Chris. I was quiet but Maria heard me singing along "YOU know this Sophia"? she seemed slightly agitated so I just replied with "Mhmm". They continued to talk while I sang along to the song, until I saw Maliwakee turn around in his seat and ask me "Why aren't you talking with us?" I just looked at him and said "I'm hard to hear, I dunno I don't usually talk in the back seat.." he turned the music down and thought for a moment. "Why don't you sit in the middle and lean between the seats so you can talk with us" he suggested. I was stunned, not many guys are concerned about what I'm doing when they're talking with Maria. So I did what he suggested and did my best to contribute to the conversation. After a while he started smoking catnip, Maria didn't partake but maliwakee and I got a nice high going. Eventually Maria seemed to back off a bit, and we continued driving to Tyler's house.
When we got to Tyler's house it was super late, Maria went and knocked on his window but no answer. after a bit we all decided Maria would get Tyler in the morning and maliwakee could stay at our place. When we got to our place Maria made food and while she was cooking I told maliwakee it was my goal to make him as uncomfortable as possible. He was a very twitchy nervous ferret, and making him feel awkward was fun. Somehow he got it into his head he'd try and make me awkward so he scooted closer to me and stared at me. I giggled and scooted closer to him, his eyes got slightly wider and scooted back to where he was. Maria was trying to start a convo but it was a poor one and neither the ferret or I paid much attention. I scooted right up next to him, he seemed very awkward but after a couple minutes he grabbed my paw with his paw and we just sat there. Maria put on a movie and laid on the other couch ignoring us to the best of her ability. I saw him look at me, so I looked at him and kissed him on the cheek. He grinned and gave me a heart melting kiss.
