Prologue

The world...

Not everything can be peaceful, but is it really beneficial to react to most if not all situations with impending acts of violence? What is it that makes us believe that most if not all are given a position of power and suggest we are higher than others? Power is believed to be granted to those who are believed to be trusted with it, but sometimes despite these choices we can become corrupted by it, or use it in the correct way that can benefit the planet.

The planet is composed of four main continents, each ruled by a faction or kingdom, the year being 24th century. The Imperial Red Nation(not to be compiled with any Russian descent), a powerful dictatorship having the most resilient military in the world, located in the northern hemisphere; the Star league, being the most ethologically advanced but smallest of overall, located on a small continent in the southwest; The Republic, as the name implies, government with presidential lead that gives the people the choice in its overall nature, being the most economically sound; and the Kage no k?zui, another small continent sporting the most remarkable stealth and ninja clans all over the world, even the continent itself is shrouded in a dark mist, to prevent outside interventions. There are other places, small villages and islands, which will remain unknown for now.

These lands lived in a stable peacetime, maybe some disagreements here and there but all in all it was resolved. The issue began with the Imperial Red Nation however, being the most powerful when it came to military might. When the sudden industrialization for weapons began to be noticed on their part, some of the other nations panicked. The republic was the first to make a move, hiring shinobi from the Kage to investigate. What was found shook the world on its foundations, the imperials were indeed manufacturing weapons, but from technology stolen from the Star league, much to both continents dismay.

The imperials were not stupid however, and were made aware that they were being spied on, instigating this as an act of war. The republic was aware they didn't stand a chance against the imperials and rushed to the star league for aid. Much to their dismay, the League was also in rage about their stolen tech, but instead of joining the fight they became utterly neutral, shutting themselves away to prevent their precious tech from falling in the hands of others again. The Kages refused to help, saying that as long as the issue did not involve them they would not participate.

The republic expected the attack to be on their side first, being the second strongest in the world. Imagine the shock when the imperial army instead turned around and attacked the league. The attack was completely out of the blue and by surprise, leaving he League no chance to endure, and because they refused to ally with republic, even with their technological power there were utterly defeat, placing their nation under Imperial control. The war began as the Republic and a newly allied but battered league fought the Imperials on common grounds. The battles were drawn on victories and losses, though it became apparent that the Imperials were winning, if not slowly.

These fights affected the smaller parts of the world, millions of people, most innocent, dyeing in the conflicts. The Imperials desired conquest, the Republic and league desired victory, and the Kage wanted neutrality. The common grounds can't be decided. Technology wasn't the only thing that affected this however, introducing Mutants into play.

Its unknown was or how the mutations began, but overtime some of the people of this world began to discover their powers, many being unique in own or some utilizing magic. Claiming to be heroes or villains, they either fought for their nation's accord or for their own personal gain. That was the morality they lived by.

The world... is marred by hatred and war,

And it must be resolved...by force if necessary. Thus began the Colossus intervention...

Explosion sounded off from all directions, mixed with the cries of civilians alike. The small city in the forest was now the hue of black and red as the flames scored the many destroyed buildings of the people who lived their. They tried to defend, but it was suicide, the enemy were in tanks, and ships; all they had were their guns, and the few people who can use them. As another explosion was heard, 4 small shapes were seen running through the alleys of the streets, four anthros but children of young age. The one in the front was a Maned wolf, leading them to what he hoped was outside the city. His name is Devian Petrov.

His counterparts followed him out of fear of dying that day, himself just as penetrated by fear and grief, his parents dead along with most of his friends during the conflict. As they ran they came across a charred but otherwise stable construct, they stopped to rest for a second, all of them panting and shouldering their guns, the screams of terror and the smell of death penetrating and traumatizing them.

Devian finally spoke, brushing his brown hair from his eyes as he asked them, "you guys alright?" They all nodded, a small cheetah, a shaking mink, and the tallest... a Komodo dragon, who was peering outside the exit to keep an eye out, his gaze steely.

Devian panted, sitting down, "we have to get out of this city, its apparent their killing all of the civilians here and if we stay its certain death."

"How are we though?" the mink spoke frightfully, "the imperials attacked on all sides, if we try and run to the outskirts we'll be killed like everyone else!"

"He has a point." The cheetah spoke, his voice weak, "and we are doomed either way, I say we should hide from all of this, find a good place untouched and hope..."

"Hope that they will ignore it? Don't be an idiot." The Komodo spoke coldly, his gaze not leaving the red horizon, "they are leveling the entire village, making sure no one survives, for some unknown reason, so going to hide is just an act of suicide anyway."

The mink whimpered, holding his gun tightly as the cheetah snorted but said no more. Devian eyed the komodo, speaking calmly, "how are you holding up my friend?"

Dual Salsevar sniffed, the komodo eyeing Devian, "I'm fine, I'm the most durable here so you don't have to worry about me, comrade." Devian sighed with relief, glad Dual was still with him, but the problem wasn't over.

Sitting up he holstered tapped his gun, reloading it while commenting, "don't worry, I know a way out anyway...were going to go through the sewer system." The mink looked up in surprise, a somewhat hopeful look on his face, but cheetah scoffed, commenting, "Impossible, the factory monitors the system was blown up, there's no way into the sewers... unless you want to walk out there and open a drain, other than that we are doomed."

Devian shook his head, "there's more than one way, the central plaza has a open fountain with a cable door, leads right in."

The cheetah scoffed his tone angry somewhat, "but that's where the attack is most concentrated, suicide!"

"It's our only chance..." Dual spoke once more, taking a moment to eye the cheetah with his steely gaze, shutting him up.

Devian nodded, "it may be but it's our only shot, we need to get to the central plaza, the fighting will cover us until we make it to the door, until watch your backs!" he had to shout as an explosion deafened the sound around him, it was close.

"Time to move," Dual shouted calmly, firing out the opening. "A-alright!" the mink stuttered, standing up. The cheetah said nothing, but stared at Devian as the wolf brought up his gun, firing and hitting an imperial soldier from his distance through the window.

"Let's go!"

The small figure stood on the tallest building, watching with distaste as the Imperial forces continued reeking havoc among the city. The reason was known to him but he knew it could not justify killing everyone there. He adjusted his mask, looking around carefully for his real reason for being here, carefully adjusting his sight to ignore the machines of war. His vision was drawn to four targets on foot, moving toward the central city, which mystified him. Certainly they knew it was suicide? He moved to the edge of the building, watching their progress, especially the komodo dragon and the wolf, they seemed to be the only ones with experience in the matter...

Interesting, perhaps these two were...

He suddenly blinked, looking through the holes in his mask as several airships began firing missiles at the southern part of the town. Two of them turned tail and headed toward the building he was on. Sighing he began walking forward, observing as one fired a missile at the top of the building. It was apparent he was not noticed and the pilots were only trying to level it, however...

As the missile approached his hand glowed a slight purple, then he placed it out in front of him as the missile impacted with it. It continued firing up as it flew into his hand without exploding. He examined it for a second, watching it until it fizzled. The pilots must have been surprised, as the two turned around again to investigate.

Mistake on their part.

He flipped the large bomb around, pointing forward then throwing it like a spear. The missile sped forward and collided with the first plane, exploding on impact. The second one panicked and attempted to turn around but suddenly stopped, the ship glowing purple for a slight second before it hurtled straight toward the ground, exploding on impact. The man hid his hands under his cloak, his body glowing in the similar hue as he suddenly phased, then vanished, leaving the rest of the squadron at fault before they bombed the building out of notice.

Devian panted, skipping a few steps as he hit the wall, looking around it, then pointed for them to follow. They all nodded, following him around the corner as they made their way toward the plaza. Dual coughed slightly as they aimed for a building on the edge of the plaza, the explosions ricketing off as they made their way inside, it was partially destroyed with a caved in roof. As they finally stopped inside to take a breather, the mink proceeded to throw up at this moment. They had encountered several charred and grisly bodies along the way, everyone had been shaken by the sight.

Devian looked out the blasted out window, then gritted his teeth, "damn it, this might be harder than we thought..."

Several tanks and squads of men were situated around the fountain, fighting off locals turned militia and clearly having the defensive advantage.

The cheetah poked his head out and growled, "told you, how are we suppose to get past that???"

The mink was shaking, "we're going to die here..." Dual was un-phased, his eyes scanning the group, his mind formulating a plan.

As the group rested he spoke up, "I have an idea..." They all looked up at the Komodo dragon, two conflicted, one with a resolve. Dual sighed, "I am the most practical and enduring one here, there is an opening in the street on the south side, with the door leading to the sewer on the north side of the fountain... I want you guys to get ready to run toward while I fire off a few explosions and distract the apparent threat."

"No," Devian growled, "I'm not losing another friend out here, I've already lost too much."

"You got a better idea?" Dual looked at him calmly, watching his friend become conflicted like the rest. There was no other way, he knew. Sighing in defeat, Devian replied quietly, "No, but..."

"Good luck then, wait for the explosion to sound off, then run for it." Without another word, Dual was gone, running to his position as Devian was only left to stare at the space he left behind. The cheetah frowned, "why would he..." "No more words," the wolf spoke softly, standing up, "get ready..."

The small masked figure hopped down a few more buildings, keeping his distance as he looked about, watching the conflict as the four made their way to the heavily guarded central plaza. He observed quietly, tilting his head as the large komodo dragon in the group suddenly split away, making his way to the southern street opening. "What is he..." the boy inquired before suddenly several explosion sounded off, noticing the one in question firing down the street as the imperials were drawn toward his sudden act.

He then noticed the other three running toward the fountain, firing on some leftover troops that stayed behind. The wolf reached down, pulling open a door. "I see..." the boy inquired, nodding his head, "he sacrificed himself to allow the others to escape...these are the two who are meant to..." He turned, watching as the next scene astounded him to no end...

Dual grunted, running behind the cover as several explosions followed him, fire coming from all sides. He grunted in pain, several wounds n his body as he clutched them, stemming the blood flow. He looked over slightly, nodding with satisfaction as the three made their way to the door.

"They made it... take care Devian," he commented sadly. Accepting his fate, he walked out from his cover, the firing stopped as the imperials looked surprise that the man they were fighting was just one man. One of the tanks pointed its turret at him.

Dual looked up at the sky, smiling, "but don't worry my friend, I promise one thing though..." The turret seemed to explode as the shell left its barrel, hurtling toward the Lizard. Time seemed to slow as the shell rocketed toward him. The lizard suddenly felt a strange surge of strength as he caught the shell, impacting against his body he slid back a few feet.

"... I'll go out with a bang..." He threw the shell back, a smile of victory on his face as the men resumed opening fire at him, no place for him to hide this time. Suddenly the world seemed to revole and spins as he felt himself falling backwards, debris flying around everywhere. He felt gentle small hands catch him, but he didn't care...

...as his eyes dimmed into blackness he caught sight of something purple, but it was too hazy to tell.

"I've found my juggernaut..."

Devian rushed toward the door as the explosion echoed off, firing down at several imperials who had stayed behind. He pointed and fired at one, hitting him in the head, then fired at the other without aiming, hitting him in his side through his chest. The other three turned but the cheetah and mink had decided to help at this point, taking them out after a quick firefight. Devian ushered them toward the door, feeling the tears rush down his face as the sounds of firing and explosions were more concentrated in Dual's direction...he knew it was inevitable... but he promised Dual he wouldn't be alone...

As he threw open the door, the cheetah and the mink made their way inside, turning back to Devian as he said, "the system should take you guys out of here, keep going down the left tunnel until you find a sign with a A-7 on it, then go past it and climb up the ladder, that leads you to the factory on the other side of the mountain."

"That's sounds like a long way then," the cheetah nodded, but then he narrowed his eyes, "wait, 'we'? what about...?"

Devian smiled, "I have nothing now, my resolve ends here with you two...good luck."

"Wait..." the mink protested but the cheetah stopped him, "no its his choice, don't ignore his last request Ming." Ming shuddered, tears streaming from his eyes, "but..." The cheetah ushered him into the tunnel, looking back at the wolf as he asked, "what is your name?"

"Devian" the wolf replied, smiling as the explosions continued to press around him and to the south. The cheetah stared for a second, then nodded, "you will be remembered Devian...thank you." He nodded once more, smiling a little as he shut the door. Devian watched it for a few seconds, then placed a grenade on it, stepping around the fountain, pointing his gun as the grenade went off behind him, sealing the entrance so no one followed the two he just rescued.

On cue the imperials turned around, just as he rushed forward, opening fire. His eyes glowed green for a few seconds as he charged in, firing and hitting several imperials. The fired back, he felt himself being a hit a few times but he ignored it, his rifle out of ammo as he pulled his pistols, blunt shots flying everywhere as he found himself counting down. Each shot that left his pistol was in conscience, bodies falling to the ground, firing still in his direction. He finally came out of his concentration, falling on his knees with several bullet wounds in his legs and stomach.

Coughing blood, knowing this was the end he attempted to fire one more shot but the gun was itself shot out of his hands. He felt another shot hit him in the chest, causing him to fall on his back in the water of the fountain.

"I have no regret..." Devian smiled, "Mother...Father...Dual...Amy... I'm coming."

He felt explosions behind him, wondering if the tanks were firing at him now but missing poorly. "No... that's not...right..." he gasped, his voice guttural from his wounds. He tried looking around but could see only the top of the fountain from his position and the sides of the building. Yells of Imperials hit the air, debris was...floating? He squinted his eyes as large chunks of what appeared to be parts of the town filled his vision in front of him.

He suddenly felt this pressure, as though he himself was being lifted...wait he was floating?? He gasped, coughing blood, still facing the fountain, but he was no able to see. To his shock and his suspicions confirmed, several parts of the town were ripped from the ground, the enormous pressure he felt on constant as he noticed a destroyed tank, its turret missing float by. Screams, not of the civilians, but of the invading force rent the air, the airships stopping in their tracks and hurtling straight to the ground, tanks coming apart instantly and flying off the ground, enemy soldiers being crushed in the weight or hit by debris.

His eyes widened, his body was light as air as he felt himself slowly turn, viewing the devastation around him. As he was slowly turned back to the fountain, nothing could display his shock at what he was seeing before him. "Who are..." he attempted his eyes wide now with fear and wonder.

Standing at the tip of the fountain, holding in his arms a much larger, battered and wounded Dual, was a hooded and cloak figure, smaller than he was but holding the komodo dragon like he was as light as paper. He was wearing a mask, decorations of purple marking along the white rounded mask with two round eyeholes carved in, two equally purple irises with strange symbols in the middle near the pupil. The masked boy was glowing the equal color, exempting an aura of power as it spread around him. Dual watched in awe as the boy's aura became large and more resilient, debris floating around him in his power. It was an amazing sight, but also at fault as the exhaustion from his wounds bore little, making him slip away in unconsciousness.

As the darkness overtook, he felt a warm small hand on his forehead...

"I am Valingarmada, and I have found you...my Marksman."
