#4 of An Intresting Relationship

By reading this story, even if you don't read this diclaimer you are agreeing to the usual legal contract that can be found on almost any story on this sight or my previous works.

Now that the horrible bits out of the way, here is the nice bit. This is chapter 4, this one is short for a reason as it is a two part chapter, as will become obvious. Please leave comments and criticisms (contructive is appreciated) as they help the story to get better! Thanks and as I always say... Enjoy!!!

Chris stood in line at the bank, looking down at a bunch of envelopes and passports and letters clutched in his hands, staring at them as though his gaze alone was powerful enough to make them speak to him, explaining once again what he had to do with them.

"The forms need to go with the letters... No, the passports! Or was it both? Or maybe it was two forms and one passport, or was it both passports the letters and no forms?" he thought all this out in his head, shuffling through the seemingly random assortment of papers in his hands. He said only one word aloud.

"Bugger"

About 10 minutes drive away, or half an hour by the number 17 bus. In his bedroom Sarah stirred lightly in his bed, hugging desperatly onto a pillow, imagining that it was her lover and trying to cling to sleep she opened her eyes slowly and stared fuzzily at the semi-functional digital clock display. She couldn't make out the time it said, what was it? 77:00? No, impossible, there would be 53 extra hours in a day if it said that.

She raised her head, not letting go of the pillow and blinked her eyes several times. The digital read out flickering slightly underneath the fist shaped dent her boyfriend had made over the course of so many years. She sighed and allowed her head to fall back onto the pillow realising that it said 11:00. As more of her vision returned she recalled hazily the memories of several hours previously...

"Oh bugger!" she cried out to the room. "I was supposed to go to the bank this week! I had to put some money into a friends account, it was supposed to be done two days ago!" she made to clamber out of the bed, but she felt a warm and gentle grip pull her back.

"Hey, you've been working hard all week, I'm sure she'll understand." she made to get up again. So he pulled her gently back again and pressed on. "I'll go to the bank and do it for you, you just tell me what needs doing and you can stay here and go back to sleep."

"But I-" Chris pressed his finger softly but fimly to her lips.

"No buts" he said "You deserve a rest."

So she agreed to let him go to the bank in her place, telling him exactly what needed doing and how to do it. He got out of bed, got dressed (slower than usual, so she could enjoy the view) and kissed her lightly on the lips as she fell slowly back into the realm of sleep.

"Yo, dude! The lines moving." Chris got a tap on the shoulder from a Gazelle, directing his gaze forward with a fist like hoof.

"Oh, sorry" was his brief apology, still gazing down at the mass of information in his hand that was threatening to destroy his mind, and for what he felt was also plotting to destroy the universe along with it.

"So was it the form and passports or the passports and forms... or maybe it was the pink form with the yellow letter..." he looked up after contemplating his own thought process. First of all he had just suggested two options to himself that were exactly the same. And secondly all of these pieces of paper were colourless. Chris decided he was losing it and decided that he would buy a new set of marbles from the toystore on the way home. Thus he went back to the non-sensical arguements between him and his own self-concious.

Back in the peace and tranquility of her home away from home, which happened to be next door. Sarah slipped out of her lovers t-shirt and climbed into the nice warm bath she had drawn her self. Reveling in the tingling sensation of the warm water against her skin. She hadn't used her dragoness form in about a month, or her anthro form for that matter, sometimes she just thought it was nice to be human, and to feel the warmth of another persons skin against hers, rather than the dull sense of near-numbess that her scales granted her whenever she tried to hug Chris. Thinking of him she wished he was here now, to enjoy the warm waters of this relaxing bath with her. But no, he was out being his usual kind-hearted self.

He had imposed his personality on her ever since thier first date, six months had past since that beautiful day, and that magical evening. She remembered the first night they slept together, he was shy and gentle, but at the same time caring and open. He was the dream guy that every girl wished they had, kind, caring, sensitive, always wanting to make her happy and sex wasn't the only thing on his mind, more often than not she was the one who started thier long sleepless nights.

Sarah was jerked from this day dream by the most perculiar feeling that emenated from her stomach. Staring down past the strands of her red hair and listhening intently to the silence of the bathroom she waited...

Moments passed, and nothing. Just as she started to relax she felt it again, but this time it was stronger, more focused. As though something was kicking her from the inside. She sat bolt upright in the bath and placed her hands on her stomach, feeling for anything wrong, but everything was normal, all she could feel were her strong abdominal muscles followed by a brief empty space...

Sarah shrieked out in pain as it felt like a tiny sharp claw ripped into the inside of her stomach. But the pain vanished as quickly as it came and she fell back into bath, breathing heavily.

He'd figured it out! The catastrophe of mis-information that had swirled in his mind was now a straight and clean path of knowledge and logic. Chris almost smiled to himself as he felt a surge of pride at figuring out the the puzzle from hell.

"EVERYBODY GET ON THE FLOOR NOW!"

Chris and every other head in the bank turned to look at the source of the disturbance. There, stood as plain as day were two men dressed in black and wearing matching balacava's, one of which was pointing a 9mm handgun at the speechless crowd.

Chris was thinking the same thing as everybody else in the bank. A robbery? No chance, no one robbed banks in Swindon! No one even got mugged. Well... not north of Pinehurst anyway. There had to be a group of teamsters with a cameraman and various extras hidden in the bank crowd ready to yell out "Surprise! Your on TV!"

The second masked-man, looked from his accomplice to the bank crowd, he groaned his dissaproval and raised his pistol into the air. He fired two rounds into the ceiling, shattering the illusion of a practical joke and sending everyone except the bank tellers to the floor.

Chris, along with one or two other people looked up at the ceiling as two specks of dust fell down onto the gunmans shoulders, leaving two bulletholes in the ceiling. This was no hoax. It was real.

"Ok, everyone stays quiet, we leave and you people get to live." the gunman who had fired the shots spoke aloud to the crowd. He paused and fired a round dangerously close to an antro-zebra's head. "No hero's"

Sarah, clean and dressed flopped down onto the sofa with a late breakfast and turned on the TV. The pain in her stomach had subsided and had not occured again since she got out of the bath. She flicked lazily through the channels, making a mental note to go to the Doctors later in the afternoon.

Chris stared up from the floor at the bank robbers, ten minutes ago they had ordered the terrified bank staff to start shoveling money into sacks. Which they made a nervous job of doing. A life of playing video games was starting to catch up to him, and he was noticing several things, one was that this was planned, second was that the older criminal was the one in charge, he was quick, decisive and intelligent, the other was the younger robber seemed to be almost naive, bordering on stupid. And the third was a small blinking light in the corner of the room...

"This is the Police! We have the place surrounded! Throw down your weapons and exit the building!"

A voice blasted through the bank doors on the waves of a mega-phone, the younger robber snapped at this sudden complication.

"Who the fuck set off the alarm!?" he yelled, pointing his gun along the row of bank tellers. His partner grabbed his arm, pulling him to the floor.

"Don't be stupid!" he said harsly, sitting in a one legged crouch. "This just became a hostage situation, and if we play this right we get a whole lot more than we bargained for! But that doesn't happen if you keep being a dumbass!"

With that he crouch-walked over to the door of the bank, leaving his younger partner to stand by the newly dubbed hostages.

He slowly put his arm against the glass door and pushed it too. "Alright we got around 30 people in here!" he yelled out into the street. "And your gonna give us what we want and this whole thing is going to end nice and peacefully, but if you try anything stupid, your gonna have yourselves a bank full of corpses!"

He crouched back over to the tills and spoke to his partner.

"This just got a whole lot more complicated."

Sarah was sat at her home, or rather Chris's home, staring at the TV when the phone rang, she got up giving a small growl of frustration and picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Sarah, is that you?"

It was Mandie, one of her friends who she had given Chris's number too, so that she could reach her if she wasn't at home, or down by the field.

"Yeah, it's me. Whats up?" she said thoughtfully, walking with the wireless handset back over to the sofa.

"Girl! Flip on the news channel!" the excited disembodied voice yelled into her ear.

Sarah tapped in the code for the news channel onto the TV remote. An image flashed onto the screen of a male lion newsreporter stood at the end of a street in town. He was wearing a custom suit and several police cars with lights flashing were visible in the background.

"As a reminder for those of you just joining us, I am Arthur Mane reporting to you live from just outside Swindon's biggest Halifax branch, where as you can see behind me" he threw out his arm to indicate the police cars with his paw. "a daring daylight robbery is taking place!"

Sarah sat up in her seat and watched with a renewed intrest, stuff like this never happened in Swindon.

"Reports from police and eye-witnesses who were outside the bank before the first shots were fired-"

"Dam" Sarah thought to herself. "This is serious!"

"-say that two or more gunmen are holding an estimated 30 plus people hostage-"

Sarah's mind went blank at the word "hostage" as the full realisation of the situation struck her like a bolt of lightning. The man she loved was probably inside that building.

"Chris!" was the only word she spoke out loud.

"Chris? What about him?" came a distant voice from somewhere that sounded far away.

But Sarah merely dropped the phone as her mind went blank with fear. Her body driven purely by instinct she rushed over to the front door, and practically ripped it off of it's hinges in her desperation to get outside. As soon as her feet touched the paved path leading to his house, she leapt forward into the air, her body shifting and contorting quickly into the shape of a complete Dragon, emerald green scales flashing in the sun, she landed on the floor and using her powerful new muscles to propel herself into the air, she spread her wings and soared into the sky.
