Well I now it took me so long but hey, I promised before I would upload the next Chapter in this fic and I will, seeing I wanna see how this turns out.

This Chapter will be the beginning of a three-part event that will lead to a climax that will leave Rock & Snow's bond stronger than ever and my intention was to make this one whole chapter but you can thank High School for that! ;p

Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon nor have any affiliation with The Pokemon Company; all rights go to Satoshi Tajiri & any relgion mention and referenced in this fic do not reflect any views on that religion is about whatsoever.

Enjoy!!

Have you ever had a promise you would always keep? I have that promise & as a man-or boy-of my word, I would and will keep that promise.

Ever since that night, I would always meet with Snow at our meeting spot we called the Light Oak because at night, the leaves would give off a light brighter than an Ampharos in the Statue of Liberty. It housed a small clearing with a log that provided comfort sitting or lying, some flowers sprouting in small motley of arrangements & a little brook that babbles from one part of the clearing to the outer edge of the other side. It may have looked small but it was big enough to have Sunday Church inside it. To top it all off, you had a rooftop view of the large white circle in the nighttime sky. It was a beautiful thing, especially on some nights that were special.

Spending time in that clearing was like getting your first gym badge after all that work for what seemed to be nothing. Me & Snow played Tag, Marco Polo in the trees, we even raced each other once in a while to see who I faster; I would win those. On some nights we even wrestled to see who would be stronger; I would rather not say who wins those however. And usually when we want to enjoy our company, we just sit by the log-usually she would be on the top & usually I would be on the bottom-and teach us things about each other. Snow would tell me what to do when you have to reinforce your den from blowing away, what berries are right, what berries can kill you and when you want to go for a dip without being stalked by a hungry Arbok or having a tasty meal after having a nice swim. Knowing Snow, she always wants her snakes thick & tender, with enough meat to satisfy her needs; while it would be enough for a Munchlax to sleep on, she could eat without gaining a single pound on her body.

I would talk to her about my family; sometimes about my Father's religious antics & my Brother's sucking up to my father's religious antics. I even told her the story about my Brother Jeremy's birthday when Jeremy got a Pokéball from Uncle Arthur. My Father got into an oddball faster than a Murkrow on a scarecrow. Mama told him that a Pokéball was alright, whereas he said: "The Bible doesn't allow People to own objects that help claim 'monsters;' it's a sin of God!"

Uncle Arthur shouted: "Where in the Bible does it say that?!" which made my Father run into the living room and he came back with his Bible; when he did, he slipped on some spilt Ice Cream & landed a face planter into the leftover chocolate cake. Seven layers of Chocolaty goodness, all mashed into my Father's neurotic facial expressions. When he got off the counter, the layers got all over his favorite shirt in which caused him to shout "God Dammit!" real loud. Mama and Grandma put their hands over me and Jeremy; too little too late for Konrad in my opinion. As Mama took her hands off my ear, my Jigglypuff-like giggling ceasing, Uncle Arthur let out a satisfying chuckle and said in a teasing manner: "You know little brother; I'd watch what you say because swearing on The Lord is a sin of The Bible."

She would start laughing like a Charmander taking a bath in some cold water. Humans would always have a special interest in Snow's heart especially where Humans live. Usually she would beg for me to tell her about the other human settlements and if I didn't, the witty Zangoose would-no will-give me an assuring pounce that tells me otherwise.

After maybe the seventeenth 'no,' I figured 'what the Steelix; I've got nothing to lose' so I decided to talk to her about the mother of all human settlements. I would talk to her about the city of:

"New York," I said to her as I lied against the dead tree trunk. "It's a city with so much excitement." My mouth spoke with the excitement, remembering when my Uncle took me to the iconic city for my fourth birthday. "It is a place with so many different people; with different cloths, different ways to talk and with the largest objects higher than the trees."

Snow looked up curiously at the trees & gasped lightly. "Bigger than any tree in the forest?"

I nodded. "And everywhere you go; there are Pokémon at every corner." I sighed, remembering all of the many kinds of Pokémon that I saw. There were Pidove's everywhere in New York; my advice: always look up because you never know when you'll receive little white present on your head. There were Meowth rummaging through dumpster in the alleyways, Aipoms & Hitmontops breakdancing with street performers in Harlem, Smeargles painting on the walls in Soho & Mr. Mime doing extravagant circus shows in Central Park. Central Park would always be filled with Pokemon with various Sunkern gliding through the forests, Bellossom dancing in some of the meadows, Chimecho messing around with some of the nearby Park goers & also some of the Pollywhirls in the lake and at night, there would be carriages pulled by Ponytas people could ride inside. I looked at Snow, my five year old eyes sparkling like a Pachirisu eyeing an acorn. "It's a very magical place Snow & when I'm older, I'm going back there for one reason."

Snow's eyes glittered with fascination. "What's that reason Rock?"

I giggled like a Jigglypuff once again, my anticipation clearly getting the best of me. I jumped up & shouted: "I'm going to climb The World Trade Center!"

Snow chuckled at my action but was as confused as a Sktty fetching a ball. "What's the World Trade Center?"

I turned to her as my excitement was still keeping the best of me. "The World Trade Center is the biggest objects in New York, bigger than all of the objects combined!" My hands were extending out as far as a Ditto on a flagpole, stretching out through the wind. "They are two tall skyscrapers, so tall that when you look up at them, you'll break your neck just by looking at them." I continued. "My uncle works there up on the highest part & he gets to travel the world because of his job." I sighed, remembering seeing his office building, it was on the South Tower in the 92th floor; it was an insurance company known as Pluribus and it dealt with providing care to different people around the world, which lead to my uncle's frequent travels.

Snow shuddered, rubbing her neck nervously; her bushy tail twitching slowly. "I'd love to go with you to New York and see you climb it," her voice edged in a playful manner. "Considering that you can't climb the Light Oak."

I turned to her, looking at her in that same playful yet determined look. "I can climb it faster than you."

She stuck her tongue at me. "Get your brain out of the Muk," she teased. "Everyone knows a Zangoose can beat a Human and Humans can't." She said in a sing-song voice.

"I'm going to make you eat those words," I growled. At the same moment, I quickly got my head start up the oak tree.

Snow gasped. "No fair," She shouted as she began climb after me.

My hands were already reaching the second highest branch she threw herself up the large oak. I sat down and looked down at her climbing; my tongue giving her a raspberry. "Ha ha," My voice now copying her sing-song voice. "You can't beat me; I'm a better climber."

That made Snow snicker slowly; she dropped down and looked up at me, her face was as devious as a Gligar with a pair of scissors. "Well if I cannot go up." She extended her claws slowly. "I'll make you come down." She started slashing at the thick oak wood.

My eyes widened; hearing those hard, sharp claws grind against the wood. It was as nerve wrecking as seeing a Gengar while hopped on laughing gas. "Okay you win." My voice showing anxiety as I quickly jumped down from the tree. As I got up, my eyes got unfocused as I once again got another assuring pounce from my witty friend. My breath leaving me as she lied on top of me as her toothy smile began glowing in a teasing manner.

She stifled a couple of giggles. "Now who won again Rock?"

I rolled my eyes. "You did Snow."

The witty Zangoose smiled once more, satisfied at my humble response. "That's right." Her tail wagged slowly. "At least we know you can climb the Light Oak without falling; now all you have to do is not fall when you climb the real thing."

I nodded in approval at the thought, clearly knowing in my heart that one day I would look up at those rectangular elevators in the sky and I would reach that penthouse suite with Snow & my family looking up at with all of New York extoling me to reach higher. I could see it now inside my five year old mind that that dream would spread its wings in the clear blue sky.

Sadly, that big dream of mine fell from the heavens on Tuesday, September 11, 2001: The one little moment that became the worse day of my life.

Okay, after this I may start doing more original work but since hardly anyone commented on it yet, I may just continue on this but I really worked hard on that Short Story in my archive and I am hoping any of you would read it and tell me what you think because that will actually brighten my mood. :)

Anyway tell me what you think, enjoy life!!
