Obsessions: chapter 1.1

Story by Seventh Architect on SoFurry

Yes, chapter 1.1. This is a two story thing inspired by The Number 23 (the movie, not the actual number for people who don't understand) Though, I know I was promising a story on the teaser for A dream so wonderful... but the damned movie inspired me more with fresh, malleable inspiration that will produce a full two stories. And that's pretty epic to me.

And I bring bad news as well. I have reached a writer's block. This will be my very first one in over five months!!! Well, since I started writing my stories. Instead I have this sory and another chapter to it to follow PLUS another story that will probably be just as epically long.

Jacob picked up his glasses, putting them on as he stretched his arms and back. The mornings were never his favorite but he wanted to get up early. The room filled ith his friends was covered in nearly every spot where everyone decided to lay down. His best friend, Laura, laid next to him, happy that she could be next to him all night. IT was the first time they were aloud to actually spend the night together in the entire time they have been together. Jacob being sixteen and the same for Laura. So it struck suspicious thoughts into both of their parents' minds.

"Ey Laura."

"I've been waiting for you to wake up. I had fun last night."

"Well it was a wild party. Seven other people in a big gaming party on the world's greatest army game. It couldn't be any less fun without that much people and you there."

"Aww. You make me blush."

*She sat up and stretched herself. *

"So what do you wanna do today while we still have the freedom?"

"Hmm. I do need some new books. And the kind I've had my eye on have been in the new age parts of the more ancient section of the library downtown. Lots of dust. They don't even have barcodes!"

"Thats mah girl! Always digging in books. Like my own little bookworm."

"Eeheh. You know it. I'll go and get dressed real quick and we can take the quick route there."

"I'll get dressed too. I'm interested in these new books. And what do you mean the short route?"

"Remember the new teleporter tech that the cellular energetics department released yesterday thats worth several thousand dollars?"

"You got one didn't you...?"

"Heck yeah! Not only that but I've been charging it all night! It's good enough for about three trips."

"Wow. I'll hurry up and change into something and tell dad that I'm going to the library with you."

"Ok. I'll be back in a few minutes."

She got up out of her sleeping bag and walked into the bathroom, picking up a small bag on the way in. Jacob grabbed his own blanket and went into his room to change.

*The two both met outside, wearing thick sets of clothing for the winter day they were to tread. Jacob in a red sweater and blue jeans, Laura in an unzipped coat, black shirt, and tight jeans that went to her ankles. *

"So. What does it look like and how well does it work?"

"Hmm. Lets see...This watch is it."

She held her arm up and showed the really high tech looking wristband with a counter on it. It counted down by seconds, fitted with a full eighteen hours.

"This little thng doesn't tell real time but it has a countdown to tell how much longer it will be alive with a charge enough to teleport a single person. After that, the planetary teleportation module will become inactive and the amount of charge left depends on how much the person using it can travel in a single jump."

"Wow. High tech indeed. So, we gonna go or not?"

"Yep. Hold my hand and we can go."

She held her hand out and Jacob took it, feeling a slight shock as they were atomized into energy particles in a flash of light. The way there was quick, reappearing outside the library.

"We're here!"

"Awesome. That was...A little weird but still cool."

"Now come on, those books are awaitin."

She jerked him forward, pulling him through the doors and half running, half walking to the deepest sections of the library. Jacob could see the excitement in her eyes. And he loved every bit of it. It's one of the many reasons why they are together. Their favorite reason being that both loved to read books based on a very specific genre, fantasy, fiction, some way to get away from their boring world. The trip was a few minutes long, having to go deeper into the lower archives of the libraries sub rooms down below the surface a few stories below. It was dusty nearly everywhere, there being only footsteps of the last person to venture this deep into the library, Laura's footsteps.

"So how deep are we going?"

Laura stopped at an aisle of books, peering down at the long structures the books were in which lead deep into the darkness where the lights haven't been changed.

"Not far. In fact, these books are so deep that the librarian that used to read the boos from this library didn't even know of these. Nor did they show up in the computer's archives. She said that I could take any book, just as long as I return it."

"So she just lets you take them...Wow. They are really old."

"By the dates and writing style, they were written over a hundred years ago. But not past a hundred fifty."

Laura ran down the aisle, picked out the bookmark she had left along with a single book bound in a dark brown leather. She wiped the dust from it and underneath, the leather look brand new, like no age had befallen it's texture. She opened it up and the pages look like they were not over a few days old.

"This book has interested me the most. But I'm here for seven. Remember that game we used to play where we read the old books of latin and played around like they were spells when we were like, seven?"

"Yeah."

"Books like that down here are of real magic spells. Or thats what they say. I'm thinking of using them in books that I wish to write in the future."

"So you're a writer now huh?"

"I've been writing stories for years silly! I thought I told you that when I slipped you one of them during algebra class!"

"Oh that. I haven't had time to read it between the time that you gave it to me and the time that the teacher took it from me."

"Oh. I thought you turned that in to the English teacher as a great idea to be on her wall of great stories!"

"Sorry bout that."

"Well it's ok. You didn't know."

Laura ran down the aisle and disappeared, reappearing a few seconds later with three books and setting them on the old cart. Se disappeared again and reappeared with four more and stacked them in two stacks.

"Mind helping me?"

"Why not?"

He picked up the right stack of books and she picked up the left half, both returning to the top floor and ground floor of the library within half an hour. The decline seemed only to be minutes while the climb back to the desk was nearly endless as excitement washed over both. Laura set her half on the table and wrote down the titles of all eight books on a piece of paper, sliding it to the librarian.

"I'll return these to the library in a few weeks if thats ok. I don't wish to take these from other children. I'll even put them ack in the spots I found them for you since they have no barcodes."

"Oh, these are from the lower sub levels. I thank you for being kind missy. Thank you very much. And..."

"And what?"

"Oh dear. Are you sure you wish to take that book?"

"Yeah. It seems very inspiring for writing stories."

"I'm not sure thats a...you know what. I don't wish to do that to a young writer like yourself. You need these books. While i've never really read these, I have heard what my own grandfather said about them. They were, not for young people, he said. But you aren't a young one anymore. You should take life by the reigns and ride through your destiny. Go child."

The librarian's smile ensured safety to the two but behind it, the face wearing it said different, scared of what might happen. Laura shrugged it off and they both left. The trip hom was to be different. They were going to have to carry the books by hand because the teleporter transported only the people in tact with each other, based on the settings, and their clothing. Anything else would drop like they were dropped literally. Though it seemed just as quick as they got there, lasting only a few seconds in their mind but really being about five minutes. Once home, two of the other guests had left while three were up and the rest asleep.

"Whoa guys, you really need to break that habit of bring dusty old books home.", one said.

"Well, we do have such habits."

"Well, we do have such habits."

They spoke in complete unison, laughing about it afterwards. Laura was immediately drowned in the thought of the books and laid them out on the table. They all were different colors, being of the color spectrum itself except for the leather bound one which looked brand new.

"I think it's kinda odd that it looks brand new.", Jacob said.

"Well, I think it looks kinda cool. Makes it look pretty."

She opened up the yellow book and flipped to a small section, pointing to the words written in english.

"This book is a mage's book, meant for one of lightning. All who read this and recite these spells will be labled as a lightning mage.", Laura read aloud, "Sounds kinda cool. But while looking through these, I had found something that linked to these books by the writer of the leather bound one, saying things about the seven books like he thought magic was real."

"Wow. That is intense even for a non believer. Did you find anything else?"

"I found this one thing that interested me the most. The page of desires. It shows what you desire most. I looked at it and turns out, you are not what I desire most. What I desire most is a magical life spent with you.", Laura smiled.

"Aww. Hey, lets check the index or table of contents."

"It has neither. Nor any page numbers or chapters. Hold on, I bookmarked a page the last visit I made. It sounded awesome enough to be in my story."

*Laura flipped through the leather bound book and opened it up to a page that was really far into the book and halfway through the teaft, the letters where in thick writing and spelled out, 'For a life of magical love and wonder...' *

"This right here. I read it over and over and it's just so cool. It says that those who wish for a world enchanted with the possibilities of magic can experience it like a real adventure and even alter the world to do so. But it's magic, as it says. Magic doesn't work."

She rested her elbow on the book and her chin on her hand.

"I wish magic were real."

The pages sent a wave of energy across the table, shocking the table to change even as the book flittered to the very end of the book. Laura hugged Jacob tightly and nearly cried. She was scared. Though Jacob stood strong, hugging her protectively.

"Whoa dude. It's ever done that before."

"It's weird though. The table changed into a stone carving with what I recognize as old runes etched in the sides. It even spells out, by what I can decipher, 'breakfast, dinner, and supper.'"

"Whoah, even freakier."

Laura turned around and came face to face with a cup, hitting it over but nothing spilled. In fact, it stayed suspended in the air. She looked around and all the people in the home were frozen except for the stone creatures which had been collected by Jacob's parents and him over the years. They roamed around like they were in a home they knew for centuries, curling up in a spot or playing with one another.

"Wha...?", Laura mouthed.

"The book...It's gotta be the book!", Jacob said.

He looked at the back of the book which it had fluttered to and the calligraphy spelled out:

In this book, you see reall magic written by real sages and mages and witches and warlocks. Everything is real and will happen. This book itself is a spell. Just touch, say, "I wish..." then what you want and the closest spell will come up. Simple as that. But be warned. Once you make the first wish, your ancestral bloodline will be reawakened. All your life before will have to be discarded for a time, set aside for the path you must take for the truth to unfold. In the world you will be sent, magic is thought of as the answer to everything. You must stay for as long needed, never really aging. But be warned of this world as well. There, there is nothing fake, there, anything can happen, there, you may wish to stay. Stay if you wish, or leave if you like. For further instructions and information of the second world, refer to DETAILS ON THE SECOND WORLD.

The last part was written in bold letters of red, typed even. Jacob flittered hurriedly through the book then remembered what the message said.

"I wish to know about the second world."

He let go of the pages and they flittered back and forth, searching as if they didn't even know until the pages seemed to even rip from the book itself. They all folded and created a single page that spelled out every word and paragraph needed. And it was short but specific:

Read this carefully and heed it well! Do not divert from what I write int his message! I, the writer of this book have tread this path already and have been there and done many a things. My name is known of glory in one kingdom and of hatred in another. But I must say now, lovers who enter...be careful. The sex is real alright. Tested it myself with my finace. But there is a little thing about everyday things in the real world that retains here, consider it wisely. It can ruin everything from your life entirely to just accidentally doing the wrong thing. You can have children, yes, but the chances in the second world are much, much, MUCH higher than in the real world. The reason why, I will allow you to figure out yourself. Other reasons you should look after. The blood is real and so is the pain. But it's different. Healing is easier now. So soon, fearing death will not be as alarming. A broken bone is nothing compared to losing a limb which is nothing compared to lossing half your body. But all can heal. Gold is not as much worth you think, so is work. It's a world to teach people of magic. This world is a place where you are only taught to learn magic. Pets you never thought existed are possible. Stone dragons? Gargoyles, even werewolves are pets here, but thought more of as people. Be careful very much here, upsetting the wrong person could make an entire town hate you which will eventually get around to the kingdoms themselves. They can also be brought back with you as well. This is where a storybook comes alive, literally. But here, sex and rape is more frequent than you think. Modesty doesn't even exist in most parts. People will just mate in the streets. You may find your own urges highten. I say this because this world is filled with more rapes than you could imagine. I have stopped quite many in just one day! And I hope that who reads this, will carry on in my footsteps. Though I refuse to learn one last bit of magic to stay here with my new found love. It pains me to never see my family again. But I know that time still passes. It's like you went missing a long time before finding this world. I only make this guide as a way to inform and tell you of the second world and warn you. If you read this, then you are interested. If you are interested, then you are worthy. If you are worthy, then meet me in the darkened glades. There this can become a conversation if you wish. If you find seven books, each on the subject of a single mage's abilities, then you have found a gold mine and I can forge them into one book with a small spell. I live forever now due to my potions. And for that, I can do this task which you may seek. But bring more spell books. You will need all the help you can get.

It was a weird message and really long paragraph that followed after explaining many things on magic but Jacob was wrenched from it when he realized what was happening.

"Laura. We are in trouble indeed."

He closed the book.

"What makes you think that?! Oh lemme guess, everyones frozen!"

"No. We are going to disappear, rather we like it or not. By opening the book, we signed a contract and will have to learn magic or never return home. But the world beyond is filled with sex, literally. Modesty is nothing there. So it's going to make it harder. There is also a reason for it to come. I don't know what, but it said it was secret. We have a problem Laura. We are going into a world we do not know."

"Holy shit dude. You just wanna have sex don't you? And let me guess, this is another one of your hypnosis tricks that you pulled last summer to get me to hand you a few...things."

"I promised I'd never do it again and that's a promise I'll keep. But this. This formed paragraph right here was written by this book's author. And it seems he knows of magic, knowing that it exists in this world and the second world. Laura. The fact that you found that book, was fate screwing us over. I'm afraid me and you are going to be fending off rapists, sex driven males and females, and even the urge to do what the author calls mating. Like animals. It's hints at something. But I don't wish to find out unless something big is involved on it. I'm sorry though Laura. I really am."

Laura looked at her reflection in the mirror which hung on the wall then down.

"No. It's my fault. My obsessions with writing got us into this. I guess that this is our price to pay for what we have done in the past."

"Laura, don't. I...It's neither of our faults. How about that, lets not blame ourselves or anyone else."

"Yeah. I don't feel like...doing anything sexual though. I'd doubt that I'd have any 'urges' the author says I'll have."

"Me neither. But lets go already. We have to get it done. and it says nothing of returning any other way, so I guess we have no choice."

"Fine."

The scene changed and everything around them was just a darkened room with torches burning with blue flames.

"You have accepted your fate. And for that you have come closer to becoming great magic users.", a voice bellowed from the darkness.

A wall moved to them, stopping about a foot away. Two items,a set of robes, one meant for a male, one for a female, both too large for either Jacob or Laura, floated over to them, and dropped as the held out their hands.

"What the...? This isn't even my size."

"Mine looks to be for someone of a much buffer caliber than me."

"Sorry humans. But you apparently were not informed.", the voice bellowed once more.

A troll walked from the shadows and pulled out a scroll, reading what it said then took out a wand.

"Two dragons it is. Shortages call for it. Haven't had new recruits for years."

He waved it above the two, and he disappeared.

"What was...that..."

"Laura...I don't feel so good."

Both fell against something. Laura a wall and Jacob, a column. Laura felt hot flashes running through her body as it gre large, the bones reshaping and her face stretching forward into a snout. She fell over as her clothing ripped from her own massive size, and scales pushed forth from her skin, feeling like painful razors. Jacob was much large, gaining massive muscles which were conceiled under a thick shielding of leathery skin. They produced a soft underbelly for both but the scales around them felt just as soft, new, like a newborn dragon's. Both screamed out, each of their spines splitting and allowing for more segments to form, creating a thin whip-like tail for Laura and a long, massive bulk of a tail for Jacob. Two female foxes helped Laura up and two males wolves helped Jacob up as they finished their transformations, growing out very large wings and huffing heavily and loudly from the quick changes.

"Don't worry...Laura...I'll...Help you up...", Jacob panted.

"sorry, but neither of you are ready to help eachother, physically, at all.", one of the wolves said.

Their robes were fitted on them like they were being dressed up like dolls. They were both hoisted up onto two beds separate from each other and then wheeled forward onto the next area.

"Guys, guys. Slow down. There is no need to rush."

"It's the work Sebastian. We have no choice.", a fox replied.

"Whatever."

They both blacked out and registered nothing beyond that, seeing nothing but pitch blac for several seconds before jerking up into a sitting motion. But there was something different. There was no one else where they were. They were in separate sleeping quarters. Jacob in a tent, and Laura in a tent. Jacob's being blue and Laura's pink.

"Wha...?"

"Laura! Where are you?"

"I...I'm in a pink tent...Where are you?"

"A blue one. Why are we separated?"

*"Hey! You two! Silence!", a voice came from outside. *

Jacob exited his tent and came face to face with a large brute of a dragon which stared down upon him intently.

"Why are you talking to a female? You know you are not allowed! Get over to the shack. It's forty lashings. And you missy! You know you are not to speak to males as well, you're on dish duty for the next fort night!"

Harsh punishments and harsh labor...It all seemed familiar to Jacob. Though, their clothing was different from others'. They wore grey clothing, wile Jacob and Laura wore Black clothing.

*"Hey you! Who the hell do you thin you are?! Leave the new ones alone!", another person said. *

It was a female down the lane.

"Oh! So you'd take their punishment instead?", the dragon proposed.

"...Yes."

"Then get over to the shack. Forty lashings, and the dish duty for a fort night. By yourself, for a fort night."

"...Yes sir."

She was taken by guards to a shack which had blood dripping from the boards. whatever happened in there was nothing pretty. The scars that showed outside her robes proved it. The dragon began walking.

"Welcome to hell."

Laura and Jacob looked at each other, shocked by what just happened. and for the first time they took into consideration, what was around them. It was...nearly a baren wasteland. But more secure and mud covered the ground all around. They all looked to be prisoners. And so were the couple. Jacob opened his mouth to speak to Laura but the smaller dragon next to him shook his head wildly.

"No...", he said weakly.

*Jacob shut his mouth. *

"Can you tell me of what is happening?"

"Y-yes...You are in a prison camp. Far into the reaches of the Garathion rainforest. Or atleast that is what is was. We are not aloud to leave, nor live life like real prisoners. We are given harsh chores and punishments for the smallest things. It's all because of that tyrant Arantasc!...But we manage. You are lucky my own love has a big enough heart to take your lashings and your love's chores. Though she is too generous. She can no longer use magic to keep herself alive anymore. It's all gone, dried up. And..."

A tear streaked down the frail dragon's cheek.

"She will not make it past tomorrow."

"Wait. This is a test isn't it?"

"No. This is real. You are from the real world. But this is a prison. You were supposed to appear in a beautiful rainforest. But landed here instead. I'm sorry, but you were doomed the second you found a portal here."

Jacob was grabbed by the arm and picked up, easily handled like a lightweight.

"I'm sorry friend. But...there are even punishments for males speaking to males..."

The frail dragon was dragged off as well.

"I guess new or not, you need to be tought a lesson. And doing it publicly should do well enough. Magic leeching tendrils work the best when bringing pain."

Jacob's arms were held out by the two guard's powerful arms as the Overwatch readied the whip. He swung it back and whipped it forward, bringing the end across Jacob's back and leaving a deep gash in his back which began healing quickly.

"Heheh. A strong one. Twenty more then."

Crack after crack, the whip made another deep gash which ran deep before healing up as the overwatch brought the whip back and forth over his still delicate scaly flesh. Jacob could not help the pain at all and each crack brought out a cry of pain each time. His robes must have been soaked by blood, and they were. Once he was dropped, his face was smeared in the mud and his wet and bloddy robes clinged to his back, bringing even more pain.

"Wh...Why? Why do you torture..."

Jacob got up slowly, breathing heavily from the massive dose of pain he had to endure.

"...Us? It...It brings nothing but hatred to you and everyone."

He turned to face the overwatch and stared at the massive tree with hate spelled all over his face. He grimaced at the tree and the tree only grimaced back.

"Your spirit is not yet broken? Hmm. The female. Yes. Hold the female."

The tree turned his back to Jacob and readied the whip again as the two guards held Laura with her back turned to the tree, perfect for him to lash it across her back. Jacob could not tell what, but something had snapped then. His sensitive, pacifist self left his mind and a big hearted and protective fellow took his place.

"Do not! Touch one hair on her head!!", Jacob warned.

"Oh? It seems he is getting a little angry. Better make it fifty lashings."

The tree swung the whip back and lashed it across Laura's back, leaving a deep gash that did not heal but blood leaked freely of. Jacob watched as the whip lashed back and forth three more times then another part of his mind snapped off, being replaced by more of the dragon origin. He grabbed the whip, pulling the tree into the mud out of pure anger. He slammed his foot down onto the back of the tree's head then spoke words of power, not even knowing their origin, nor ever learning them.

"Has'pheno solona!!!"

*The tree cracked throughout it's now hollow frame and crumbled into dust, his foot freely falling into the mud. Three guards all tackled him at once and held him still as Laura was dropped, blood flowing from her wounds. A humongous jackyl appeared from around the corner, gazing at the two. *

"throw the female in the medical tent, fix her up and put her on dropping sweeping for a month. Lock the male up."

"You touch a single hair on her head and...and..."

Fire fumed from his mouth with every word, anger clearly coursing through his bloo and veins like a toxin, fueling the needed strength.

"No...no..."

Jacob calmed, taking a few deep breaths.

"I...do whatever you wish with me instead. Just...just leave my love alone, she has enough to deal with."

"I don't usually take deals from prisoners and any who try, get punished. Throw him into the shack. A hundred lashings. But. I do have a heart. This clearly is not a war bred female. Tell me, who gave her these lashings?"

"He is dead. I killed him.", Jacob answered.

"I thank you for killing him, but you are getting no mercy from me. I am the leader of this camp, the sheriff, the big fuzz as some of you call it. I am the most ruthless of them all and I warn you now, you better watch what you say around me."

The guards dragged them away from each other. Jacob struggled all he could but there was nothing the could do but watch as they were dragged from one another. They loved each other more than you'd think a young couple did. It was like a bond between two people that which would be found in a married couple. Love so strong even time and death are nothing to them. Jacob was dragged to the bloody shack and the smell of decay reached his nose, causing him to nearly lose his lunch. But he held it down. The female from earlier was taken from the shack, her back bloody but her mind still a happy go lucky look playing on her face. That is, till she saw Jacob. His eyes spoke enough to her. Hatred, pain, and suffering for him. She frowned then walked the way to her tent. It was the first time that anyone there had seen her frown in over a year. It only made them all even more uneasy.

"What have I gotten myself into?"

Jacob was tied by the hands and suspended where a bll at the other end pulled out a razor blade tipped whip. He swung it back then forward lashing it over Jacob's already bloody back. But it didn't heal this time. Jacob didn't have the energy. Each lashing came and he screamed out in pain, till his voice was hoarse. He felt each lashing, striking him hard and arching his torn up back.

"Ninety seven...Ninety eight...Ninety nine...One hundred."

He counted the last twenty, having no reason to scream but a reason to find out when he was going to get out. They wiped his back of all blood with a dirty towel causing a sting each dab, then a healer fixed his wounds into partially healed cuts, making it so he would not bleed to death, then threw him out. Jacob was not able to stand but instead, the other prisoners helped pick him up and bring him to his tent. He expected to just be laid down but they helped him sit up and face the same female from before. Her frown had not disappeared and she was actually crying. No shakes came frome her body nor did she make a sound. But she still had tears streaking down her cheeks.

"You...what did you do?", she whispered.

"I...Could not see my lover tortured or in as much pain as I felt. It was unbearable to even watch her take only four lashings.", Jacob answered.

"I have been here for more than a century. Helping others live without any hope or faith. But you have brought that back to me. I can't leave, but I have ust stopped using magic to just, give up. I can't go further. It's too unbearable to see others die every day. But...I must live. We all must. You have brought me and many others hope when you made that spell. No one has seen anyone make a spell that does that nor even make a spell. You have much potential. And it can lead to escape. you have been through much today though. So you must know what to do."

The next three hours, they stayed, shispering to each other and discussing how to act in the prison. Back to Laura, she was cringing from pain, gripping the bed sheats hard enough to rip through them and biting down on a thick block of would which she had bit halfway through already. It was all to bare the pain which the healers brought from her wounds as they dabbed them with alcohol.

"Ok. Done.", said one healer.

"You can let go of the wood block."

Laura let go of the bite she had on it and the healers took it, throwing it in the wood pile.

"Girl. I can see much going on. You have a wonderful lover that is fighting for you on such short notice! You two are not only meant for each other, but whatever pain is brought upon you will push him further and further to helping destroy this camp. We will be free. Freedom. For the first time in over centuries time.I have nearly given up, allowing myself to starve to death and my own magic be taken for the king's evil use. But no more. You are our way out. And I'm sure of it. We will hide you, put you where you will not be seen for a long time, then get your lover."

"So. How do you know that we can do this?"

"Hello. We are mages. We have near infinite power, but use it for healing instead as cover. Your age is sixteen, recently changed too. You are perfect, of the peak ages of breeding. You have a wonderful mate. I wouldn't see why you overthrow the tyrant himself and become th enew royal family. Doing so, you'd be viewed as the strongest of two. you and your mate."

"Why are you calling me and Jacob mates?"

"Because it fits better than boyfriend and girlfriend. You will be hidden by magic, you can move around, but only in here. The mud outside will make tracks that anyone can easily see. You walking out will not work. They use that against us. If anything, we need to keep you two above us all and protected more."

"But why do we have to help? Why not get the entire camp to just overthrow the guards and warden and overwatch?"

"Because they have us beat. Their whips are tipped in magic sapping tendrils. One whip and we are weak enough to be beaten with ease. Our magic is no longer strong enough."

"So we are a source of magic strong enough. But that is not the only thing that concerns me. The Jacob I know, has never thought of harming another human being in his life, nor anything that is living and can carry it's own weight. But that changed. He even killed that living tree...And...It's not right. He even flipped when they lashed me with the whip. More than I've ever seen him get angry. He literally tackled and took down a foe more than twice his size. There is something chaning. Probably in me too."

"Human? Pacifist? I know what you are. You have come from the real world. While the second world is filled with magic, the real world still sounds better and I have wished to return there."

"Return? So you are from the real world?"

"Yes. But I landed in this spot when they were building it. About a hundred years ago. I need to get through your head that there is no way to fight any sexual urges. They are mpossible. I got knocked up just a few years ago. But my child disappeared after they took him. I wish to see him again but...I don't know where he is nor if he is alive."

"Thats hardcore. Listen. He listens to me, Jacob. so I can get him to do this just with a couple words. He already wishes to do it and the smallest thing could set him off. So we have a weapon."

"Perfect. We just hope that Leita does her part and talks to him."

"Then we can only wait."

*In his tent, jacob was covered in a small rag that was set fire to then run over his body. He could feel the warmth as it washed over him but his scales became stiffer, Hurting his body as they rooted in deeper, taking stronger holds. *

"You are a dragon of the older generations, able to walk among flames if you wish. And the more you walk in flames, the harder your scales become. You are a walking gold mine of Magic, you easily made a spell like you had known it by heart. You are our savior. We have been waiting here, doing what they say, allowing ourselves to be abused because of how harsh it is. But now that you're here, we will be fine."

Leita tested the hardness of his scales. They hardened alright. And Leita tested that by attempting to drive a rail spike into his back but failed.

"That kinda hurt. What was that?"

"Railroad spike. Believe me. In this world, you are a tank.."

"Damn."

"Yes. Your scales are not fully hardened but enough to withstand the fight that you will be in."

"Why am I helping you?"

"Because you're finace, girlfriend, mate, whatever you wish to call her will be in jeopardy until you do."

"Laura..."

"Yes. Again. Rest now. I'll be back with another rag tomorrow. By that time, we will be ready. You need to try and make a new spell. One that can help us escape."

"I am too weak. Give me some time to rest and I'll do something."

"I'll stall as much as needed. Rest now. I must tell Rick of the good news."

"Rick. The one who is your proclaimed mate?"

"We've been together in the same tent a few times so I guess you could say that."

"Heeh. Well, there is one thing I can say. He is lucky to have you."

"Thank you. Coming from him, that would mean a little more than that, but it still means a lot."

She left, hurrying out as the overwatch passed and her footsteps quieted. Jacob couldn't stay awake much longer after that, falling asleep fairly quickly. Plunging into the darkness which was relief for him. But it was short lived. He was woken by Leita who tossed him a few glowing orbs. He couldn't even catch them and they melded with him.

"You should have enough energy and your wounds have healed. You have half an hour before the overwatch comes to wake us. Well, the new one atleast. This fight will not be fought alone. We all wish to escape as soon as possible."

*In the kitchen, Laura was hurriedly moving back and forth between areas, bringing dishes from place to place and bringing food to other places. The younger tree which was the overwatch passed by and the other females cast the spell on her. She quickly stood up in the corner and the tree left without noticing. *

"It's clear. take this orb to your mate. He should be ready except for one thing, hope. He needs you to be safe and we will do that."

They cast another spell and she appeared in his tent, astonished by the quick meeting they were given with such ease.

"Jacob..."

She hugged him and he hugged back, holding her possessively.

"The deed is not yet done."

*He parted from her and thenthought, mustering up as much wisdom as before. He thought of what his new spell would do, the perfect spell. *

"Got it. The sell is ready. Once the overwatch passes by, we will start the escape. But it's going to have a side effect. I'm not sure how to explain it. But I can hear his footsteps. So it's time. Tombota vateri!"

*A shockwave passed from his tent, visible by onely those it was meant for. Every prisoner, dying or frail, was revived. Boney structures and faded clothing changed back to their color, dotting every yard with black structures which were the prisoners. Jacob looked at Laura with a happy mind, no longer angered nor sad. The effects of the spell had taken it's toll on him and Laura both. she was right next to him so it was bound to happen. They both exited the tent, chuckling as he twirled her out and brought her closer. *

"No!!! Interactions!!!"

The tree brough his whip out and cracked it forward but Jacob caught it, growling viciously.

"I wouldn't want such a loyal tree to end up like the other overwatch would I?"

Laura chuckled and looked at the angry tree.

"Nope!"

He jerked the whip from the tree and it crumbled, hit by the spell's effect as well. But it may be the luckiest they get. Guards began pouring into the area, closing on the two. But befor eany could even touch either of them, they were thrown back, propelled by a magic aura expelled by Jacob.

"Shall we go my love?"

"Only to the end of time. Ooh! Can we grab up a few weapons?"

"To mame or kill love?"

"Mmm, both."

They acted like they were completely oblivious to their surroundings, not knowing of the battle going on between the other prisoners and the guards. They just walked through, prancing almost and jumping over prisoner and guard that got in the way, playing as if children again. It began to quickly dissipate though, ecoming nothing more than the two watching the people around them as they neared the gate. All the guards were either dead, cowering, or subdued by magical chains. It was then that the two realized what was happening and looked about the field.

"Whatever you did, helped a lot. We are near invincible now. Lets find that jackyl and bring him to his knees.", Laura stated.

"Good idea. I want revenge for him and his harsh punishments. A hundred lashings is nothing to me now. I can wishstand the pain now. I even started to get umb at the near end of my lashings last night. How about we bring a little something from home?"

"Yeah. I wish we had those books."

"I was talking about the band! Teleportation and all."

"Good point. But it's supposed to be linked to a satellite. There are none here."

"Then lets just go on. If you find it, there's no use in taking it."

"I know. Lets get this done so we can start whatever it is that will get us home."

"Ok then."

As they thought of a plan, the other prisoners looked at them all in awe. Jacob had created a spell that revived dying people, even returned the life to worn down and people with malnutrition. To them, he was a god, and Laura was his goddess. Leita walked to Jacob and so did one of the healers.

"Jacob and Laura, you have not even been here a day, and you two have turned the odds against the guards, the overwatch and even the Jackyl leader. I thank you and will be in your debt for a century's time before I have repayed you.", Leita said, "And it's all because you saved me and my mate. I thank you very much."

"You are very welcome. We don't like to see people suffering. even homeless people. We once took a homeless woman into our home and helped her back on her feet, turning her from being a homeless, street wandering woman to a successful person. We now call her Aunt Aina.", Laura answered.

"Well, as soon as we are done remembering, we need to run by the cut off areas of the camp. I have heard infant cries at night and even children wandering in some areas. I have reasons to believe that is where they keep the children born here and the children they are nursing.", the healer said.

"I've never heard your name."

"Tealera."

"Thank you. I do owe you for helping. and the best I could do is reunite you with your child and get you out of here."

"Thank you."

"Ok people! Time to go! I'll go check the severed areas for the children."

*They all moved to separate areas, pulling away boards from the walls to get from section to section. But section after section there was only space, nothing found but blocks and cuts between section and section. Like making a maze. All hope was givven up till they looked at the warden's tower. Around the warden, who was sitting at the top of the tower, were several children. Counted, there were seventy three children. Some whining, some crying, some just not speaking at all. *

"Looks like we have a few trouble makers. Because you care about these children so much, they die."

He picked up one after another, throwing them over the edge. All the prisoners weretossed into chaos, reaching forth but forced back by the walls lined with railroad spikes. It was bloody on both sides. But th illusion was only of what Jacob intended. He cast a pillowing spell just in time to catch the children but they seemed to stay quiet after falling. After the last child fell, all the prisoners were filled with cries for lost children and scared screams, beating even more hatred into Jacob's mind. He stood from his crouched position and pushed to the front of the crowd.

"Listen to me you worhtless piece of shit animal!!! I am not only pissed at the actions the actions you have taken, but also ashamed to be in the same kingdom of taxa as your sorry ass. You bring disgrace to every animal living in this world and beyond. our own king is no better!! But I tell you now. After witnessing this last resort you pulled, I was further disgusted. But you have nothing mroe to worry about fearing death. You have me to fear now. Campalo sau!!!"

The gates blasted from their position and the children and mothers and fathers ran to collect eachother in their arms, turning back to face the enemy in his tower. Jacob spread his wings and flw up, casting a small spell of body manipulation.

"Tenvisca."

His body swirled in blackness, flesh dripping from his bones as he expanded and grew to a size twice as large and landed on the edge of the balcony. He screached aloud at the Jackyl, striking fear into even the prisoners' hearts as he engulfed the jackyl.

"You have shown you are worthless to others by throwing helpless children into a leap of faith. You, my friend will not die, but you can see now that I wish to make you pay. And that I shall do. Mos'cen tasva!"

Light shrouded the jackyl, taking hold and forming chains around his entire body to the point where he could not move and they melded with him, pushing the hex and curses combined into his mind.

"From now on, you shall know love, then watch as your new found love life will tremble and fall, unable to build any higher and watch as your own love is tortured to death by the natural forces. Not only that, but you shall also feel the pain of watching your own family die from old age as you do not. And no longer shall your magic work. You shall not fear death, but you shall fear me, and I can tell that in every shadowy corner you will see me crawl from the thinnest shadow and inflict unholy pain upon you, never ending."

Down ont he ground, Jacob stood still, holding his own love in his arms and a scream sounded from above. A scream of fear.

"What was that?", Laura asked.

"Torture fit for someone like him.", Jacob answered.

They kissed, one time all to short though, and reached further, bringing each other into a liplock that was tight, not letting any air escape. Their hands explored eachothrs' body, reaching for places never explored even. The children all had been turned away and two stags pulled the two apart. Both gasped for air as they found relief of whatever just happened.

"I've known this would happen, I knew it!", Jacob facepalmed.

"That was...Wonderful though...Why would you refuse that?", Laura asked.

"You two should find atleast some modesty. Hide in a tent or something, but not in front of the children!", one of the prisoners called out.

Jacob was let go and he stood up, holding his hands in the air.

"Ahm cool, Ahm cool."

"Ok then. You might wanna try not to for a long time and consider it first before even hugging each other.", a stag imformed.

"Good tip, but the book called out danger when it talked about that."

"Book? You mean leather bound and brand new?", a guard asked.

"Why do yu know of the book?"

"We have been watching it appear in every weird place in the camp. It's like it has a mind of it's own. If you know of it then take it, that thing is scary."

"Thank you. I guess that I'll have to find it."

*He turned to Laura who was still in a partial high, leaning on one of the healers for support. He took her into his arms and picked her up off the ground, holding her princess style. *

"Lets find the book and you need to try and calm down."

"Why...? You were enjoying it too!"

Jacob walked out of the area they were in and entered the warden's office, setting Laura down on the couch which laid in the middle of the room.

"You see, here, sexual urges are multiplied more than tenfold. It says so in the book's pages. Not only that but conceiving a child is much higher as well. If we get deep into these sexual desires, no matter how wonderful it is, we may screw up more than we could imagine."

"I...Had no clue."

"which means that a simple kiss for good work or just to give a kiss could turn into a family matter altogether."

"Let's just find that book, get this done and get home before I actually drag you to bed."

"We really are like animals if we do. Let's keep it at the fact that we are not animals and actually human. There it is."

He lifted the bookcase and the spellbook which brought them here lay flat, covered in dust as if it had been there for a long time. He dusted it off and tossed it to Laura.

"Say, 'I wish to know about the second world."

"I wish to know about te second world."

The book did it's dramatic effect and she read the entire note.

"So. Sex here is nothing mroe than an everyday activity basically. As well as rape, fucking, and making love falling under that category of chores to do a day for some people. It's pretty epic here. But I don't feel like having to deal with a child right now."

"Actually..."

"Jacob Benson Schwanven! You did not just say that!"

"Hold on. I mean, yeah, we have dated for several years, even been together as just best friends for elleven years! And our parents think we are still children."

"It's too keep us from messing around like this. Believe me, if my dad found out you had sex with me he'd probably throw you in a box if I got pregnant."

"this is kinda about getting pregnant."

"No!! I'll have none of this talk, after reading that passage, I just...Can't take all this. We just liberated an entire prison camp for cryin out loud!!! This is all too much. If anything else happens I might just give up completely. End my own life maybe..."

"Whoa Laura, don't do anything so drastic. Think of all the people that love you, including me. I wish to spend the rest of my life with you, and you know it."

"I...You're right. what was I thinking. We need to find some place to rest. I'm really tired from just the amount of labor forced on me. Not only that but we need a place to hide. If this camp was found empty and inactive by the tyrant then we are screwed, big time. We can discuss things later but right now, either make somethig or find something for us to live in."

"I've got it. Can't make something unless I got the materials. So I'll twist a bunch of trees together. It will be perfect."

"Living in a bunch of twisted tres seems a little suspicious."

"Not trees, TREE."

It donned on her. He was talking about a giant tree. There have been lots of grande trees in stories she had read. It was perfect.

"Lets go, we have the book, and if we have the book, we have spells. Spells that don't cost half my own stamina to create."

"You are going a little on the tired side then."

"Yes. Now lets find the spell."

I'm stopping there because there is way more planned in this and I want to put it as a two piece, or even a three piece story. Tell me if anything is rushed, of any spell errors, or even grammar errors. Mails does not mean males...
