A Vision Of The Future
I stood there watching the rain fall from the sky and there was thunder loud banging thunder. It was as if the great kings were furious and angry and apart of him felt feared by the anger. He held his staff tightly almost as if he were going to be whisked away with the wind itself, The clouds darkened and before him a large figure came his way it was a lioness with the purest green eyes he had ever seen but her eyes were filled with pure evil and darkness and even a spite of hatred one he had not seen in so long. His legs quivered in fear as the creature stepped closer to him the lioness had no fear or even pity in her eyes as she raised her paw up in the air unsheathed her claws and swiped direcly at him.
Rafiki awoke feeling his heart pound in his chest and hearing it through his ears he had never had such a terrible nightmare even when scar had taken over the pride lands. Rafiki sighed and stood up he had been having that dream ever since he heard Kiara was exspect cubs and now he feared because her date to drop was any moment now and he was starting to think maybe it was a sign of evil coming to the pridelands once again. Rafiki stared outside from his tree the sun shined brightly telling him today would be a bright new start it was then he looked at the paintings on his wall to see that he had created, Kiara was with Kovu atop pride rock and everything had been perfect since that day. It was then he heard the flapping coming towards his tree" Rafiki come quick come quick" He peeked out of his tree to see Zazu panting away on one of the branches" What is the matter with you Zazu..I had just gotten up youll wake the gods themselves with that shouting" I told the old bird but he shrugged it off" You must come quick Kiara has given birth to her cubs and they need you to perform the ceramony tommorow..but first they need you to come judge the cubs and quickly" And with that he flew off.
I was somewhat terrified to even go see them with what the dreams coming every night it was almost impossible not to be frightened by the future but he shrugged it off and made his way to pride rock. Once at pride rock I saw simba standing at the entrance with Nala awaiting me no doubt and Nala had came up and given me a hug and welcomed me home" You look so tired Rafiki.. were you up all night or was it those silly nightmares again." Rafiki sighed" The nightmares my queen..but you see im starting to think there not just silly nightmares anymore.. it could be something more.." Simba looked over at Rafiki with worry" What do you mean something more..?" Rafiki looked over at the old king" I fear it may have something to do with Kiara's children my king..i fear one of them might become evil.." He mumbled but Simba heard everyword and was outraged" Thats impossible we will raise the cubs in the ways of the wise kings.. just like my father did with me.." Nala nuzzled him attempting to calm him and Rafiki understood why he was angry but did not press that part of the subject" I understand King lets hope that works.. now let me see the new born cubs.." He walked inside making his way to the worn out queen who had her paws huddled together with two soft bundles curled into her. Rafiki looked over at Kovu and smiled gently" Congratulations Kovu and Kiara.. you must be very proud of such beautiful cubs.." Kovu smiled he did indeed feel proud to be a father and Kiara though tired managed to smile as well" Thank you for coming on such short notice Rafiki.."
Rafiki chuckled" It is no problem this thing happened on your birth and on Simba's i am use to it Kiara.." He looked down at the cubs one was a light colour like Nala with a brownish red mane on his head" My that one will grow to have a magnificent mane.. he will grow to be a strong lion.." Kovu smiled as did Kiara. I looked over at the other cub who seemed to be somewhat a spitting image of Kiara only her eyes were dark brown on the outside with two dark brown specks on her eye brows. Rafiki looked down at her and she looked in Rafiki's direction opening her eyes, Rafiki's eyes widened in fear as he backed up slightly. Kiara and Kovu looked at him worried as did Simba and Nala" Rafiki are you okay you look like you seen scar's spirit.." Rafiki looked at them briefly" Im starting to think i have too.." He shook his head gently" Her eyes are a strange green colour reminded me of a dream i had recently is all.. its probably nothing.." He only said this to calm them down but somewhere inside him he knew it wasn't true it was something. He looked at the male" I think he should become king.." Everyone was confused" But Rafiki there twins.. maybe we should let them both take control of the pride" Kiara said" I Don't want them to end up like my father and his brother" Simba cut in gently looking at Rafiki with stern eyes.
Rafiki sighed" I fear your daughter might not be fit to be queen.." Kovu growled slightly" What do you mean how dar-" Simba growled" Kovu enough.." Kovu kept silent and Rafiki apologized" I mean no disrespect to either of you..i just wish to see what she will be like when she is older..see if her personality is assuring.." Kovu was going to ask what was going on but Vitani had showed up with a few lion and lionesses no one had exspected atleast not Kovu or Simba. Vitani had showed up with Nimbala, Sinabi, Fisadi and Keisha, Nimbala and Sinabi congradulated there Sister on her birthing and even Nimbala congradulated Kovu but they still weren't on the best talking terms. Sinabi looked at her sister and Kiara chuckled" Won't be long before you drop too eh Sinabi.." Sinabi let out a small chuckle herself as her stomach was big, she almost looked like she would drop at any second but she still had a week or two left before that happened. Sinabi nodded" Yes but not for another week or so.." Sinabi said as she looked at her mate Fisade with a warm smile and Fisadi nuzzled her gently feeling proud himself and his cubs were not even born yet. Kiara nodded and looked at Nimbala who seemed to be glaring at Kovu" So Nimbala how are you and Keisha doing.." Keisha smiled alittle and looked over at Nimbala who smiled" Were doning fine but we are here to see you and your cubs my dear sister" Nimbala looked down at the cubs" So what are you going to call them..?" Nimbala asked slighlty curious and wishing not to start anything between him and her mate.
Kiara smiled and looked down at them" Kovu and i were dicussing it while mom and dad waited for Rafiki to show up..and we decided that he.." She nudged the light tan cub gently" Will be named after our uncle Meehtu who we never got a chance to meet.." Nala smiled sadly at the remeberence of her brother. Kiara then looked at her mother and smiled" And as for her" She looked over at the female cub" We decided to combine our names with our Brother Kopa..and calling her Kotara.." Simba smiled and nuzzled Kiara gently along with Nala" They would proud to be named after such beautiful cubs Kiara.." Simba said as he looked down at them.
Rafiki watched them though he wished he could be happy a part of him feared it would never happen on the count that the dream seemed to be haunting him more and more. Rafiki feared for the pride lands and for Simba and for the rest of them as well. What would become of them and the future of Pride rock only time would tell and time was the one thing he wasn't sure he had.
Days had passed and the cubs grew up abit and were walking around exsploring there pride lands. Over the time they grew Rafiki had paid close attention to Kotara and Meehtu and they seemed like regular innocent cubs so maybe his vision was wrong. One day during a nice summer morning Kiara and Nala were lounging about when there cubs came up to them it seems that Kotara had made a strange new friend who had strange colour eyes but Kiara ignored it for now his name was Nur and him and Kotara were playing at the time until Meehtu asked to hear more about the great kings. Kiara smiled" Well i do have a story but.." She looked at her mother who gave her a worried look but nodded" They need to hear it Kiara.. so i will tell them.." Meehtu walked over to Nala and sat down next to him curious about the story Kotara and Nur also sat down but they werent all that interested in hearing just yet.
Nala sighed" It started out when Simba and I were cubs way before kiara was even born..his father was a great king and looked after pride rock with a great presence and great dignity..he had a brother." She lowered her ears" Simba loved his uncle very much but he wasn't what he seemed he was an evil source.. one who wanted to rule the pride for his own gain and his own greed.." Kotara soon got abit interested as did Nur because he had heard this story from another point of veiw just to see if it was true. Nala looked at them and smiled sadly" His greed consumed him and he made deals and said things he couldn't mean or keep.." She looked down at Kiara who showed some sympathy in her eyes" He killed his own brother and almost killed simba just so he could become king.." Kotara listened and decided to speak up" Was he a good king.." Nur looked at Nala abit insulted by her refrence to Farai's father. Nala looked at her and shook her head" No he was a terrible king, he was ruthless and mean and he didn't care for anyone but himself ..his own greed even got him to kill my little brother Mheetu.." Meehtu looked at her sadly and lowered his ears.
Nala shook that thought out of her head" He brought Hyena's to the pride lands and that brought him to his end well that and his greed, when simba came to take over the pride lands and fought scar who ended up trying to turn agenst the hyena's to save himself but in the end the hyenas and fire killed him" Kiara watched her mother continue the story" And thus simba took the place as king.." Kotara tilted her head and Nur growled he had enough" Thats not true!" Kiara and Nala and the cubs looked over at him in confusion" My father told me about Scar and though the pride lands did die it wasn't his fault it was the dry time!" Nala shook her head" You obviously have been told lies it was because Scar didn't take good care of the pride lands and they slowly died and the animals left the lands because of it.. and because of scar" Nur growled" Your wrong!" With that he ran off.
Kotara looked at him feeling bad and fallowed after him pretty much ignoring her mother and grandmother making sure her friend was okay. She found Nur sitting in the grass alone and he was somewhat sniffling to himself. Kotara walked over to him" Nur..are you okay..?" Nur looked at her" NO im not okay your grandmother told lies Scar wasn't bad he was missunderstood thats what my step dad always said.." Kotara looked at him" Your step dad knew scar..?" Nur shrugged" He did know his first love Zira the lioness who told the true story to Farai and Farai told it to me.." Kotara was curious to know the real story" Can i meet your step dad.. i want to hear the real story of the real king." Nur looked at her" Only if you promise not to tell them where he lives.." Kotara nodded" Promise" And with that they were off into the outlands.
Kotara soon met a dark brown lion with an even darker mane, his green eyes peirced through her and almost frightened her making her want to run but she stood still. Farai grinned" So you want to hear the real story of the true king isn't that right..?" Kotara swallowed hard and nodded" Yes sir.." Farai chuckled" Don't call me sir.. my name is Farai..and how do i know i can trust you" Kotara looked at him" Because Nur is my friend an-" Kotara was cut off by Farai's laughing" He's not just your friend dear.." Kotara tilted her head" What..?" Farai smirked" your daddy has been keeping secrets from you and your mother.. you see Nur here is his son" Kotara's eyes widened in surprise but Farai continued" Which means he is your..?" He looked at her as she spoke" My brother.." Farai smirked" half brother but yes brother none the less..and your father abandoned him isn't that just awful.."
Kotara was about to defend her father when she looked at Nur and realized it he wasn't lying. Kotara could see so many similarties to her father it almost scared her to a degree" Your right.." Nur looked at her" Farai had adopted me when your father ..our father abandoned me .." He looked down" He wouldn't even look at me when Farai told him the truth about my mom he just left and Farai has been my dad ever since.." Farai nodded sympathy showing his features slightly" My poor Nur.. his father was such a jerk to him.. leaving him alone not even his own grandmother wanted anything to do with him.." Kotara listened to Farai's every word and believed him too. Kotara growled lightly and stepped forward to Farai" I Want to know the real story.." Farai meerly grinned at her" Alright child i will tell you the real story.."
And thats where it began..
