White Wolf

Chapter 1 Wild, you may call me, but I call myself free. The wind whistles through my fur and the dry, dirt caress's the underneath of my white paws as I run. The forest trees are somewhat living and the winter air is bitterly cold. The cold bites the tip of my nose, as it begins to snow. My ears twitch, as I hear a faraway howl, familiar, it sounds. I slow down to a steady walk to listen to it more. I lower my tail and raise my head as I answer with a low, steady howl, and return to the pack.

The forest seemed quiet, and not your normal calmness bird-chirping quiet. No, it was dangerously quiet, and I didn't like it. I padded quietly behind the trees, peering slowly around them, trying to figure out why it was this quiet. It's foggy now, but I remember seeing, what our kind, calls them, two-legs. The smell was horrible and they had cages filled with my pack. I was angry and I wasn't going to let any of them get away with them. I padded out of the darkness, snarling my ears lowered back and my tail straight out.

Most didn't notice, but one. I leaned down and jumped at him. His scream was terrifying to the others who turned around as my teeth sank into his shoulder. One pulled out a boom stick, the two legs, called a gun. I dropped the guy as the blood dropped from my mouth and onto the freshly fallen snow. I stared at them snarling looking for a way to get my pack out and away. I kept hearing them talking to each other, more like yelling. Don't kill it! Don't kill her! How did they know I was female? Why didn't they want me dead? I just slaughtered one of their kind, why was I different? The one guy with the gun pulled out the golden bullets out of it and inserted what look like a red bullet with needles at the tip, or a tranquilizer. At the time, I didn't know what it was, and what it did. I didn't care and I sure as hell wasn't going to take a chance. I leaped again, aiming for what seemed like the leader of the group, but then he shot and it went black.

I woke up in a small, dark room with one window in the ceiling. It was almost pitch black, except for the bright light from the crescent moon above me. There was a door and the room smelled like wolf blood and my pack. I immediately grew anger and I slowly tried to get up. I knew I was in trouble and I needed a way out. Instincts told me to attack, but something inside me said hide! Looking around I see nothing and as I hear footsteps drawing nearer to the door, I whine at the moon, scared.

All the sudden, from what seems like, the moon felt like it was drawing me closer. My body stretched as the fur on my body disappeared. Fingers grew out my front paws and my tail disappeared and i grew toes and a head of hair. The door open and the two-legs stood in shock to see the wolf they caught, gone. In its place, a white haired teenaged girl, who was scared and hurt. One of the guys, smelled like the guys at the forest, the other one was different.

The way the other man looked, he was wearing a suit, a white suit and glasses that covered his eyes. What interested me the most was his scar on his neck, it looked as if he was attacked by some demon. As I'm glancing at the guy, the shorter one blurts out in surprise," I swear the she wolf was here....we had her, i swear!"

"SHUT UP!" the bigger guy replied with a smack to the guys face.

Something inside me growled, the way the two- legs treated each other disgusted me and so like my stupid self i stood up slowly, not used to my two-legged body and yelled," STOP!" Pain struck my body as the man glanced at me, with hatred. Instead of apologizing and backing off, like any other would, i stood my ground. The guy smiled and turned around and replied, "We'll meet again white wolf." And then it was black once more.

I woke up in a place that looked horrible and the smell was devastating. And what interested me the most, was there were several or hundreds of what seemed like grimy, dirty two-legs, or for better words now, humans. Their clothes were torn in places as if they've been worn forever. Some humans didn't even have clothes, just sheets tied to their sides to keep them from being nude. These humans interested me, and they seemed interested in me as well, except one. The vibe from him felt dangerous, and again I felt anger rise, but not for long, something was approaching.

It wasn't danger, because I instantly felt calmer when a hand was placed on my shoulder. I'm not sure why, but when I turned around the man i was looking at seemed familiar and the woman on his side as well. And when he spoke, his low voice reminded me of yesterday afternoon, the low howl.

"Alpha!" I basically threw myself at him, so excited that he wasn't dead. But what scared me the most was, why were we human? And where were the others? He pulled me off shook his head, and i knew what he was going to say was not going to be good.

"Beta, we need to tal..." "Is it about the pack?" "No, the pack is fine, it's about you and what you're destined to do and become..."

Something felt new inside, and the moon wasn't helping. Alpha looked strange, and his mood was different.

"Beta, your name is Luna, as in the moon savior. And we've actually been protecting you from evils harm, but now since the two-legs have seen you and now know where you are, we cannot protect you any longer. It is painful to say this, but you are on your own now." Before he left, he gave me the necklace from the legacy. It was bright blue with swirls carved in the middle.

I looked up to ask what he meant, but he vanished. For the first time in a long time, I began to cry...

CHAPTER 2

For what seemed like two minutes, something approached me and then pulled me close. I would have back handed whoever it was on a normal day, but this was no normal day. My alpha left me and I'm still not sure why. The guy that was holding me lifted my chin up so that he could look me in the eyes. To my surprise, it was the same guy that gave me that bad vibe beforehand. I backed off as I studied him, and he smiled.

"What? I'm not going to bite...hard," he laughs and I relaxed and laughed along with him. From the studies of him and the smell from him I immediately knew he was a wolf like me, and I wanted to know why.

"Sorry, I'm L..."

"I know who you are, your Luna the moon savior."

"See, that's the problem, I didn't even know who I was till just now and I'm not quite sure why I'm in this body either."

"Ah, so you haven't quite awakened, hmmm follow me; I know a place we can stay tonight. Oh by the way I'm Jayson, but you can call me Jay."

I nodded and followed him through the allies and passageways of this little, old town. Why I trusted him, I had no idea. But he was all I had and maybe the only one that could tell me what Alpha meant about me being moon savior. He led me to this little abandoned building that had wood covering the windows and doors. He ripped some off, so that we could enter and opened the door. "Ladies first," he winked and I smiled I guess beggars can't be choosers. I entered the building and noticed that this wasn't his first time, living here. There were chairs and tables and I think what it seemed like a stolen TV in the back corner. I looked at him and back, I was amazed by the way the inside looked.

"Wow, I didn't expect it to be nice in here. This can't be your first time living here."

"No, it's not in fact someone else lives here. And I'm sure he'd be delighted to meet you."

Something busted for what seemed like the back door open and walked in. He was taller than jay and he had no hair, but he had ink all down his right arm and his muscles were ginormous. He looked at me and dropped his food that he had in his left hand.

"Could this really be? Are you...? Jay! Is she our savior?"

Jay smiled and nodded his head back at the man. The man got down on his knees and transformed into a gray and black striped wolf. He padded to me and as I sat down in a chair, he placed his head on my lap. I placed my hand on his head, rubbing his head and as I looked up at jay, I felt something inside me awake slightly.

"How did you do that?"

Jay took the necklace from my hand and placed it around my neck and then he too transformed into a full black wolf. They looked at me and as I looked back I felt something new and awakening inside me. Again the moon felt like it was pulling me close, and I transformed into my normal body.

"I'm back. But how? What if I need to become human once more?"

"Luna! Calm, if you need to be human think human if you need wolf think wolf. It's that simple. Now let me introduce myself, I'm Bones. I look like a mean guy, but I assure you, I'm a big sweetheart."

I smiled and did what he said, just to make sure that he wasn't lying. I thought human and I became human once more. I paced the room as I thought about what Alpha had said and I think Jay noticed me stressing out, because he wrapped his arms around me and kept telling me its ok you'll be fine. I finally began to calm when Bones yelled,"Hey pups! Come eat!"

I wondered into what they called the kitchen but just look like a table in the south corner, but it didn't bother me much. I sat down in a wooden chair and looked around. Jay sat next to me as bones, put on the table a large buck. Not haven eaten in the last two days my stomach growls and my eyes grow huge. Jay laughs and bones smirks.

"Someone seems hungry," Jay nudges me with more laughter.

"Go ahead grab a leg, you look like you need one," Bones motioned me and I grabbed the left back leg and ripped it off the body. The sound of the bones breaking made me feel more hunger, and as bit into the leg and my teeth sank in, the blood rushed in my mouth and down my throat. I chewed the meat and swallowed.

"Luna, when was the last time you ate?" Bones looked at me concerned as jay toyed with me, trying to take the leg. Jay shifted to wolf and pried the leg and ran. I snarled still hungry, and not finding his game, as fun as he thought.

"2 days," I shifted wolf and chased Jay. Snarling I leaped and tackled him. My teeth sank into his neck and then remembering, it was jay, I backed off.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry I didn't me..."

Jay whimpered and shifted back. Looking at me and smiled. "Its fine, it's my fault for taking your kill anyways."

He patted my back and got his own leg and I grabbed my deer leg and finished it. It was a long night and I was prepared to wake up and ask them what Alpha meant. I closed my eyes and curled in a ball, and slept.

Chapter 3

I woke up in the forest, home! I looked around for my new friends Jay and Bones, but they were gone. All I saw were trees among trees. The sky was red and there was no moon, something shuffled in the bushes behind, I snarled as I turned around slowly. I attacked the bushes, to find nothing. Hearing what seem like animals and humans in a "battle to the end", the ground felt like it was cracking underneath and the sky began to cry. As I looked over the ledge, there was blood shed amongst the grass and open plains. Humans were killing the innocent and wolves were killing their own kind and humans. It was like all hell literally went loose. There was no peace, but plenty of fire. The end was coming nearer and the moon was disappearing. I wanted to back off, run away, but I couldn't get my body to move, not even my eyes. All I could do was watch the world die. I watching in dreadful amazement, until I heard a yip from a far and a scream the voice sounded familiar, and when my body turned to look I grew so much anger, I felt as if I was boiling. The same man, with the scar on his neck, had killed my family, and my only two friends. The moon was gone by then and it got really dark. Everything got quiet, as everyone looked at me amazed and scared. I opened my mouth and it felt like I was going to unleash a great power inside me, but everything vanished. All I could hear was, "Luna! Luna! Wake up! Wake up! It's just a dream! Wake up!"

Chapter 4

I woke up to find Bones and Jay standing over me. I looked around to see that it was nearly dawn and slowly got up. "What happened? What time is it?" I had all sorts of questions going through my head at this point. And I really needed someone to tell me who I was and what my dream was about, and what Alpha meant. My heart was pumping fast, when Bones handed me a glass of water. I took a sip, and looked at them.

"We need to talk, I'm done waiting."

"What do you want to know," Jay looked at me concerned.

"What did Alpha mean about me being the moon savior?"

Bones looked at me, took a deep breath and pulled a chair by and sat down. "See there's a long legacy about the rare white wolf, who saves the world from utter chaos. The white wolf must save the innocent and destroy the evil."

"I visioned the man back in the black room."

They looked as if they just got smacked. If they were wolves, their tails would be in between their legs and their ears would be flattened. I watch them situate uncomfortably for a second. "I'm sorry, did I say something?"

"No it's just, he's boss to the humans, and something about him animals fear."

"Why?"

"I'm not sure why, but anytime I see or sense him

My body tenses and my fur rises and I just...want to," he growls for a moment and throws the empty bottle he was holding beforehand.

As the bottle crashes and bones gets up to kick his chair, I swiftly get up and grab his arm.

"Bones please stop"

For a split second, he looked at me and I saw someone I didn't know even though I haven't known them long. He growled and threw me across the room. My body slammed against the ground. I looked at him hurt and got up slowly. I shifted into my wolf body and as my paws caressed the floor and tears rolled down my muzzle, I ran. I could hear Jay behind me screaming for me to wait! I paused for a minute until I heard snarling and I began to run again.

I didn't know where to go, or where I was going. All I knew was I wanted to get away. My heart pounded as my paws ran as fast as they could. I stopped and looked around, I smelled water and I slowly padded towards it. As I passed some trees, I found a small ledge by a medium sized pond. I shifted back to my two-legged body and walked slowly in the crystal water and sat down and cried.

CHAPTER 5

I felt a stinging pain in my left arm. And as I looked over there was a huge gap dripping of blood. I grabbed my arm and winced. The pain tingled threw my arms and sides. All I wanted to do was scream, but I didn't want to wake anyone in the village. Something moved in the bushes behind me and I felt a little on edge. I shifted wolf and yipped at the wound and then snarled at the bushes. I was unafraid of what was behind there and I wasn't in the mood for some courtesy wolf trappers.

An old grunt softly came out the bushes then out from the bushes a cane and a friendly smile. I lowered my tail and growled softly, still unsure what the old man wanted or needed. He cautiously walked towards me and motioned his hand towards me slowly and calmly said," Oh white wolf, don't be afraid all I want is to help, please." I lowered my ears and stopped growling to sniff his hand, once I sensed no danger from the old man; I licked his hand to tell I was fine with his presence. I shifted human and fell into the water on my knees, growing weaker by the second. The old man put down his walking stick and stepped into the water.

He called himself Odiemus, the healer. He motioned to see my necklace. I handed him my necklace and he smiled.

"I'm sorry for growling at you, I thou.."

"Its fine dear, a wolf should always follow instincts, but I'm glad you did not immediately attack."

I smiled and so did he, as he handed me back my necklace and motioned me too put it back on.

"I feel dizzy," I said softly. He smiled and placed his other foot in the water and began to chant.

"Moon crest Crystal sky let me be the healer of our savior for the rest of my life"

The water began to shine as he began to lift into the air; the sun brought him closer as it got higher. My arm began to tingle for a minute and as I watched him, his arms went back and his head tilted and light came out of his eyes and mouth. He exploded into billions of crystals and my arm healed. As I watched this happen I couldn't move nor scream, it was like watching your dog get hit by a car and not knowing if u should scream or cry. Something dropped in the water where the man used to be standing. I slowly walked over there, and noticed a silver medallion with a clip on it, and as I picked it up I heard a whisper within it. The old man's soul was in it and told me 7 words and those 7 words I won't forget.

"I will always be here for you."

CHAPTER 6

I clipped the medallion on my necklace and smiled. I suddenly realized that it was noon and my stomach was beginning to growl at me. My hunger was killing me and probably eating my insides by now. Even though I already ate not that long ago a wolf's body is always hungry. I shifted wolf and started to pad towards the village again. My body began to tremble as I heard human's feet running towards me with buckets of water and bread or anything that they could get a normal dog to eat, but they all knew I needed fresh cut meat. And not any just meat; deer meat, and only hunters or wolves could catch those wild creatures. As I drank some water from the buckets, I heard my name being called and I scent smelled familiar. Maybe I wasn't as lost as I thought. I looked up to see a worried wolf standing in front of me. It was jay. "Luna!?! Are you alright? I sent Bones out for some food and he wants to apologize to you." He licked my cheek and nuzzled me softly. "Will you please come back?" He lowers down to the floor and lies down on his back, curling his tail in between his legs, a submissive position. I smile and lick his nose. "Only if I get biggest piece."
