Chapter 6

"Yelmi's Destiny"

Everyone watched as his head was twisted all the way around by Gondau's large rubble hand. Salena watched as his body fell to the ground, her eyes wide as she saw blood coming from his mouth. She tried to hold in her sadness but she couldn't help but let her tears out as she saw her one and only friend lying on the ground dead. Gondau roared with victory as he raised his arms up as everyone except for Salena cheered.

As his life slowly faded away he heard a voice in his mind. It spoke in a deep tone as it chuckled.

"Do you wish for power young one?" it asked.

All he did was let out a groan of pain, it felt so bad, he didn't want to die yet. He hadn't got to live a full life yet. The blade of his sword started to turn back as a dark aura surrounded his body. Everyone didn't seem to notice at first but as it crept from the cage and into the audience everyone stopped cheering and watched as the body of Yelmi started rising. His body radiated with dark aura as he took his head and twisted it back around with a loud snap. Salena along with Gondau turned their eyes to him as he cracked his knuckles.

"That's impossible, I broke your neck, your suppose to be head!"

Yelmi wasn't his old self anymore, his normal blue eyes was shaded with black, his hair was black and the small blade of the sword he carried now was the blade of a buster sword. He grinned as black smoke slipped between his teeth.

"What's wrong, it looks like you've seen a ghost." he replied to his opponent with a wicked grin.

Gondau was about to step out of the cage, he didn't like what he was feeling, a dark presence overlooked everyone.

"Don't you dare think of leaving, we have a match to finish!"

He stepped closer as Gondau pulled at the door. The judge of the fight reached for his key, but it slipped. He pounded at the gate before Yelmi took his by his shoulder. He gripped it tightly and flung him like a stick across the cage. Was that the true Yelmi, Salena wondered as she watched with fear. Everyone watched as he trashed his opponent, punching his face, chest, and stomach. Even when he had a chance to attack Yelmi would just grab his arm and twist it as hard as he could until the bones broke. He punched and kicked as blood spilled from his mouth. He didn't care about his life, he didn't care about anyone's life, he just wanted the taste of vengeance.

"Please, have mercy." he pleaded as he groaned, his ribs, his arms and legs were all broken, he was trapped.

"Sorry, all out of mercy." he raised his blade, but just as he was about to slice Gondau in half he heard a familiar yell.

"Yelmi, please stop this!"

He looked to his right and saw someone who didn't look all the familiar to him, but he felt like he had known her. He lowered his blade onto to faze through the cage and into the crowd leaving Gondau to his fate. Everyone parted as he walked through the crowd towards Salena. She had a plan that had a chance at working. Once he was in front of her she instantly wrapped her arms around him and pulled him in for a hug. Was it working? It felt like it at first but then he struggled and broke free of her grasp before raising his blade to her. She closed her eyes before she heard him grunt. After a few seconds she opened her eyes. He was on the ground, his hair back to it's blond color and the sword was back to it's original form.

"Nice try, but you can't release him with a simple hug." someone said as she looked up.

A tall, old woman stood before as she looked down at the unconscious boy on the ground.

"He was a fool for excepting such a deal."

Salena watched as she picked him up and threw him over her shoulder, for a old woman she was sure strong, she much have had been around four thousands of years if she looked that old.

"Wait, where are you taking him?" Salena asked as she walked up behind her.

"There is something you need to know, this boy may be the only hope for the world of magic kind."

Now that she thought back to it the fortune teller had told her that everyone would need him, that he would fall to darkness. It must had been a coincidence, who was she kidding she saw how he acted back there. She followed the old woman into a rundown shack. It wasn't the tidiest of places, but it looked clean enough. Before she set Yelmi down on the dusty couch she took the sword from it's scabbard and let out a gasp.

"Hey wait, that's Yelmi's."

"Not necessarily girl, this is none other than the blade of Oblivion, the ruler of the shadow beasts."

She had never heard of this Oblivion guy before.

"He was once a cruel and ruthless tyrant. He would sacrifice his own kind just so that he could please the demons of the underworld. Their flesh tore from their bodies, their bones made into sharp daggers and their meat used for dinner."

"How do you know all this about him, did you know him personally?"

"Yes, in fact I was once his wife." she replied before pulling her hood down revealing her long white hair and beautiful green eyes.

"Relax, I'm not hereto kill you or your boyfriend, in fact I'm here to do the exact opposite. You see, long ago the four great kings had found a way to seal away Oblivion forever using his own sword, it came with a high price. In return for sealing Oblivion they had to give up their lives. They did so, leaving their sons to inherit their thrones. Oblivion was sealed away, that was until a certain young man released him."

She looked to Yelmi who was cuddling a pillow, it was kind of weird but cute.

"I noticed him change in the match also, just as you did. This blade is no ordinary blade. It feeds on raw emotion and when it feels that it's user is weak or is about to pass away it gives him the choice of gaining more power than that of Oblivion himself. While it may seem like a good thing it's not. Oblivion was made up of raw anger and hatred towards all other magic users thus the blade fed him the power he wanted, however with your friend there is seems different. The power to protect and the power to take vengeance. If he is to ever gain control of the blade he has to learn to control it and maybe he would be able to control what you saw before."

"If what you say is true then can't the kings just seal him away again?"

"I'm afraid not, the seal prevents him from being sealed again, and judging by the symbol again I would say it still has three years until the seal vanishes. Do not worry though, he is still massively weak from being sealed away, it will take him years to regain the power he lost. I will tell you this though, if Yelmi wants to set things right he needs to kill Oblivion."
