Chapter 14: A Single Light.

Chapter 14: A Single Light.

"Sound and light; dazed the memorial of shard and night lay above, the light shone down, piercing through the shadowed trees and the darkened foliage. A cold shiver ran through, just holding the frozen and torn body next to me. Her breathing was rasped, and the night cold enough to make fog from it. The blood that tinged her fur red was no longer fresh, instead the dried and flaking blood was still held on the ends, tearing away with every step of the way. It took long enough to make the bleeding stop, long enough to get away from them. The striking hooves of feral horses could still be heard from half the world over; light thumps against the soil were the first signal, their breathing was the second. Swords still gleamed through the forest as we made our way from them; still seen even getting to the mountains pass. We made it so far, yet it still wasn't enough."

"Senshi No Hato."

"She repeated the words again and again. The phrase was strained, almost forced out until she had to break the syllables up to say it. I tried to shush her, keep her from speaking; but she only kept talking, whispering it softly in my ear. Snow made our; made my footsteps crunch against the snowy blanket."

A voice spoke in a cold tone, a memoir of my past. Thinking hard enough, I could see where I was. A wooden banister and staircase led to the only other floor of an inn. A fire burned silently with only the crackle of sparks every now and then, and a brown-cloaked blazed and white furred figure sat across the table from me. A window stood not too far away with the very rare sight of an oil lamp in front piercing the snow that shattered down and around the outside world. Taking my eyes towards the blaze of warming flame, the edge of a sheathed blade hung across the chair I sat on.

"What happened after?"

Bringing a metal mug to my lips, I studied the oily swirls within the amber drink before swallowing some. The drink was a strong and powerful taste that only helped fuel the thoughts of a poetic sadness.

"Okay." I replied in a soft tone. "Hardly halfway through the frigid air of wind and snow, she stops talking, and listens. Howls emit from the forest around us, just near the breaking point for the morn. In a sudden and quick haste, I moved as far as I could through the black and thick winded snow, and only end up being chocked from the cold, like all air was just ripped from me."

"That's when you saw this demon you speak of... Uh, this so called Reaper."

Revealing a book the size of an old box with nothing but tattered fire burnt pages; the figure was within, and holding great detail. From the eyes, the burning shadows of licked flame, and the odd black staff within its blackened hands.

"Yes, precisely that." The metal mug came up once more, and I again drank heavily from it. The taste was strong enough to make me squint. "I mean it's the only thing we have close to it."

"That's one hell of a story. What about this journal you lost?" He brought his own drink up, just a golden and firm pint of ale.

"How the hell should I know? I simply lost the damn thing anyways."

"Well what about the wars and battles we've been hearing of? We can't just sit here and do nothing about it!"

He was standing now, a canine figure; some form of a half-breed. His paws slammed against the table he spoke.

"Sit down."

I replied to him in a drunken haze.

"For Christ's sake, your own land is being attacked!"

"You really think I give a shit about London!?"

I barked back.

"No, but I at least thought you cared about your friends lad."

"Don't you dare say shit like that! And don't call me lad, your only two years older."

Arguments sprang up between us, like two snakes after one prey. After it only turned into a painful dispute that led him to slamming the tavern's door shut behind him.

The sound bounced before my eyes, and I awoke within thick dust, and the blaze of orange above. Everything was silent, except for the small shuffles of insects around the bridge's wreckage.

'Fuck.'

My head was pounding, light was the main cause of it. On all fours, I studied all around me, until a darkened crevice revealed a tunnel. Looking around again, there was no other path.

'It's a start.'

Stepping into the oddly cold and suddenly air filled passage; my hopes were lifted. After a while, the passage grew dark enough that I could hardly see the walls around me. The ground was covered with the filth of fallen rocks and shattered charcoal like material. Striking a claw against something, my eyes fell towards a wooden stick.

'A torch?'

The wall had a sling for one, every twenty steps another was just visible beside me. Continuing down the path, there came a time where these slings were no longer there, though there was still an endless path to walk through. Placing my paw down, a sudden sting caused my fur to stand up. Bring my leg back up; blood started to drip silently to the floor. The dirt and filth stuck and already started to cover the small cut.

'Great.'

Bringing my paw back to the ground, a faint light seemed to come from behind and ahead. A blaze of vibrant green stunning me with the crossing blend of violet, red, and blue caught my view. Like lines engraved against the walls, they flowed through like water filling every gap and spot. The tunnel was darkly lit, and I could at least see around me. The veins covered the walls, roof, and floor leading further into the temptation of shadow. A small shaking made me turn to the sediments of rock where I came from.

'Guess I can't backtrack.'

The sounds of tapping from dripping water caught my attention; the cavern was boiling hot and my throat was already dry. Reaching a small clean puddle ahead, I drank what I could siphon from it. Staring back down the path, another set of lights seemed to come from ahead. Hardly placing thought before stepping, I could hardly cry as I fell down a blackened shaft. Only the sudden splash of water rippled a cold shot against my boiling skin that forced my breath away. Bringing my head up, I stared into the wonder of stars above me. Like fireflies in the night, ghostly blue wisps followed and danced through the air. My eyes were wide with wonder and curiosity. A small chuckle out came from me as one brushed up against my fur, the warmth of the spirit protected me from the frigid water. A single oddly shaped wisp circled around me playfully, just staring into me as I stared into it. The blue flame like light had an orb of pure white within it, like a single eye.

"Do you know where I can go?"

My mind was hit by some old fables from my past, how some wisps would help lost travelers find their way, as others tried to lead them astray. The wisp jigged up, hovering slowly over to another tunnel that was revealed by its light. Following it, the water around me hardly moved, as if frozen solid. Looking at the clay colored ground, mixed with the darker stones of obsidian deposits. At times walking down, precious and shiny gems came to my view. From rubies to diamonds, even oddly found ones like bloodstone and aquamarine. The wisps light seemed to glow dimmer every now and then, but other then it; it's ghastly blue light remained. A shuffle stopped me as we entered into a large, open cavern.

'More torch slings? Someone's already been through here too? Why wouldn't they mine what was behind me?'

Just questions that came up alongside with the ping of metal on stone my mind played tricks on me.

'Blood; a pulsating shudder from the risen bow that struck against the threads of solitude'

It pounded my skull with the sound of a violin, a quick and long well versed tune that created darkness around me. Light rose, and not from the oddly flamed wisp near me.

Other ghosts appeared, going into the soil of rock and grave. A tear through the earth revealed an odd shape, something that shocked my fears and raced my heart. A skeleton from an animal I've never seen, tall bony fingers and the decaying of flesh that dropped from its rotted core. The eyes glowed with an eerie white, and the figure was about five, maybe six feet tall and stood on two legs. Another metallic ping sounded like a clock striking its bell came from behind me; the sight of stone was all the corner of my eyes found. More of the skeletons came from ahead, some of their bones where shattered, others broken. Like a nightmare of hate, the shard of a wisps jealousy they swayed staring at the darkness. The blue flame above me hovered towards a metal wheel, like a crank connected to the side of a rock. A rusty lever lay next to the wheel, a tall piece of oxidized metal that sprung from the ground. A creature jumped fourth, and it only took the lightest strike to make its brittle bones break and fall. Attacking them until only dust was left. The sound was behind me now, a ping echoing through the cavern. Turning in a shivering haste, my breath was taken as a pick axe struck for me. Shriveled hands grasped a thick wooden handle, skin so dry and tight that the bones were bulging out from it. Feet were slightly curved with five individual toes on each, ribs were sunken and the heart still lay within it. Eyes were a dazed white, the eerie spirit's wisp that controlled it. My eyes fell to the dried hands that held the pickaxe; counting a total of eight fingers; some were mangled and twisted, others were cut and torn; and two thumbs. I watched as the pickaxe rose again, and struck the stone next to me with a ping. Dried blood was around the mouth and from cuts and indents on the body. Skin was pale though the dirt and coal turned it dark, and the creature was furless, hairless even. The creature was nothing but a darkened decaying body. Driving down, a loud crack was heard from the rock behind me, circling around I tackled, knocking the creature to the ground. The chest and back was first to rise, then the head; broken and shattered, flopped entirely backwards with the sickening sound of cracking. A loud sound like metal cranking against itself caught my attention. Daring a quick glance, the flaming wisp pushed against the lever, aiding the sight of the boulder moving. Flashes from the pickaxe came at me. I jumped from them and ran like hell.

The boulder closed with a loud crash and all that was here was that one wisp, and an entire room that was made like a cozy home. A medium sized room with basic necessities; a single wooded bed, a small wooden table with a red hardcover book, and a bookshelf that held a majority of things. Wind, fresh air, and a small rock held the crack of moon light. The wisp stayed by me, looking around for something. Bringing something towards me from a body's silhouette, a small clear crystal like pendant hung without a chain.

"I'm sorry; I have nothing to put it on."

I spoke softly with a naive tone, and looked back at the red hardcover book on the table. The wind howled through the night and the book unlatched from a small lock I didn't see, and flipped open. Curiously I walked over, and started scanning the well handwritten entry. A picture frame stood next to the book gathering dust, blowing on it; the dust flew away, and showed me the faces of more of those skin-like creatures. One with tall blonde hair was smiling towards me, with a younger short brown haired one smiling as well. A small note on it caught my interest.

'No matter where you go, we will always be with you. P.s. Please write to us when you get to L.A, it would be great to hear from you love.'

Staring hard within the picture, a blue box like form lay behind them, the glass windows, the black rubber tir-

'How the fuck is there a car in this picture?'

It sounded like Blake's voice talking to me. Looking at the book, the pages were wet, and some ink was illegible. An odd small black box was next to the book, and as I studied the writing I noticed that it was choppy itself as if it sounded like a lunatic was talking.

'Shad-' it cut off with the unreadable symbols that were once ink. '- surrounding me, strangl- me and the rest of m- Lost we are, darkn- tha- withi- the Strazhi's soul.'

'Strazhi?'

The words were an implement of fear that shivered through me, looking at the dead figure in the corner, something metal was within one hand. The chamber was straight with a rise at the front and a cylinder that circled around its handle. The hammer above it was cocked and pulled back; that's when I started seeing a past that wasn't mine.

"I'm sorry sir, did I interrupt?"

My voice rang through an empty college room. A person stood holding what I saw before and wore a tan suit and tie.

"No, I'm just amazed you could pick off all that from this old thing."

"It's a Webley revolver mark one, invented in the eighteen-seventies, it uses point four fifty-five ammunition and was adopted by Britain's army and navy in eighteen eighty seven."

"How would you know this?"

"Father had a hobby with gun collecting and gun restoration. That gun was the only one he never could acquire."

A shockingly painful flash of images that dug into my head from Blake's past. Staring around the figure, littered stray bullets were all that were fumbled and tossed around it.

'Whatever tried to kill it must've alerted him before hand.'

The light suddenly faded towards a dim shard, turning towards the flame, the small crystal was pulsating light around, shining it in odd rays. Moonlight still endlessly flowed through the start of a deserts night, picking up the small crystal with my muzzle, I wedged my way through the small crevice and found myself stuck within a huge gorge. A river was not too far down, but it seemed to go too endlessly onto the horizon; howls kept emitting from the cliffside, and up above I could see a large platform, connecting both sides of the gorge together. Placing the crystal down, and holding my head back, I replied to the call, and waited for the sender. Hearing another howl, I replied once more, holding my head up to the white crescent moon that shone upon me.

"Senshi!"

Karisif's voice echoed from above. Staring into the black furred fox, I called back to him, and studied the treacherous and narrow passage upwards beside me. Picking the wisp up, I started to slowly climb up until I reached the top, only to be greeted by Karisif and Jiveria, along with the other two.

"You okay?"

The short furred, long eared wolf spoke out to me; eyes were dark with the chilling sense of paranoia. He was shaking slightly, and not from the cold.

"Are you okay?"

My reply stunned him.

"What? Yeah I'm fine."

He was quick on the drawback, and then stayed quiet afterwards.

Traveling within the dunes, the moon was halfway through the skies before anyone spoke.

"So where are we going?"

Kiyoko's sister stopped, and stared to Jiveria.

"You see those mountains way down there."

"Just barely."

"That's where we are headed. My sister told me to go there."

Keeping my pace, the wisps crystal would light up and shine every now and then, unseen by anybody around me. The cavern still confused me, leading me to the loss of thoughts and guidance. Familiar howls came from a closed distance and the short furred wolf would call back to them.

"Your mate?"

Words that I brought up to break the tense silence brought a stronger chilled emotion to us.

"Yes."

Staring into the stars in the skies, clouds almost started to form above us. Fresh air filled my lungs, just deep breaths to get the dust out.

"Have any of you ran into anything out here?"

I asked.

"Nothing, I would've figured they'd follow us after we got out of the mine."

She spoke with a wavered tone listening to the word around us.

"Well I-"

She shushed me, listening to the sounds around us. Focusing hard, I heard the faint sounds of movement, thumping against the sands.

"You had to ask that question."

She bolted through the sands; we followed her into the direction of desert mountains far ahead.

"It was a fluke! How would I've known that they would?"

I replied back, running as fast as my legs would let me. The pounding of horses could finally be heard clearly about a couple hundred strides away, looking towards the moon on my left, a basin of rocks hung low to the ground, the wide and narrow passage ways provided cover from the sands.

"Over there!"

I called out to her. She turned her head towards the closer cover.

"Move over there!"

Reaching the edge of the rocks shadow, the forms were in the back, blades gleamed within the moonlight. Staring at them, they didn't look like the people before.

"Oh no no."

His voice caught my attention.

"What?"

I replied.

"Natives of the sands."

"What?"

I replied again, watching as a darkened shaft flew fourth. The stone head shot by, breaking upon the rocks around us. More arrows shot forward, striking wildly around.

"Into the rocks!"

In a rough tone a voice made us move forward. The tall close narrowed path had walls that reached to the stars, though we were hardly able to move into it when a stream of gold struck down for us. Bone and flesh hung to us with the sight of milky eyes, clouded eyes. Teeth disfigured and body mangled in a majority of ways, the demon from before stood; Fylakas's chain hung loosely around its neck. Its muzzle hung low, growling and gagging out old blood that once flowed through the dog's veins. A shuddering of breath, his eyes fell away from the demon facing the shafts that dug into the rocks around us. Gazing towards the arriving forms, the moonlight reflected from the bright gold chain blinding me for a moment's time. Demonic barking could be heard from all around me. It was a sudden unwilling sound that dug into my ears, mocking me and tried destroying the thoughts of focus and sanity. That violin played slowly, driving like the arrows around us; sharply pained and stunned by the sound, I locked all fours down to the cold earth below me. Memory, snow pelted my fur as I carried the frozen figure. My legs gave way, submitting to the cold of the night. Frozen tears fell from my face for her words were no longer spoken. Shadow emitted from ahead, eyes were sharply blood stained and narrowed to me. Body was engulfed with the flame, though it appeared like the paced waves of oceans water.

'He never came for me.'

A cold realization came to mind that stopped my breath from then, and stopped it now.

'He came for her.'

A shiver brought me to reality, staring at the slowed world around me; I looked at who could've been chosen. Karisif and Jiveria were perfectly fine; Kiyoko's sister was dodging the arrows that shot by, staring at me in confusion now and then. Yet he stood, frozen and cold fear shaking his body and thoughts. The hellhound charged ahead and jumped trying to get past as I countered by jumping up at it. Striking it back, the hound landed on all fours. The burning ailment from the touch stung into my paws and legs, almost shackling me down. A distorted voice talked out, causing me to flinch from the demonic sound.

"Your too late, he was dead long before you met him."

The dog's head swayed side to side, staring at me and him.

"No. He was alive and safe when I met him."

Laughter rang out though it was more like a choked howl.

"Foolish pup, I should've killed you when I had my chance."

Growls sparked us and he shot forward, aiming for a kill. Dodging back, I countered with a frontal strike to the face. Digging claws into the skin, the blood that oozed out burned to touch. A sigh of pain came from me as a light sprang up from near us.

'The crystal!' The diamond like form started to glow, and a marking came from my leg.

"What?"

He spoke the same words I did and backed a step away. The ominous glow from before was back, the shape of a rune's shard started pulsating from under my skin. The blue light engulfed around my face, and as I stared into my body, the fur on my chest became gold, as the rest turned white. My face and legs was blended with both and the blue markings from me became brighter. A barking sound caused his body to become engulfed with the worm like constrict of a demons shell; skin, bone, muscle, and blood surrounded him with a darkened aura of hell and hate. Everything turned silent; the world around us became dark and lost. Our gazes were locked, and the sight drove us into familiar ground. He charged within the shadows, driving fang and claw downwards. Sidesteps led to my counter that drove deep behind and with my chance I dug my claws in and tore downwards. The pain was no longer there, though I could see how it stung him.

"Not as much fun receiving it?"

I spoke as if innocently asking him. His chuckle led to constrict a barbed rope-like shadow darting for me. Watching the blood-soaked shard of twisted flesh drive for me, I ducked low as it almost struck, and pared across it. Slicing the tentacle like form in half, the other shard dissipated into the crevice of shadows. Laughter sprung from me, a small darkened chuckle that rippled and cracked the darkened sphere around us. With every crack, blood flowed downwards filling every broken and tied pain between everyone. I could see the past of the others; he was forcefully chosen to leave himself from his mate and offspring after he fell ill. He walked within the endless sands of isolation and was finally caught by those people. He was forced to fight and kill, and eventually penned up and passed on, only to hear the brutally painful cries of those he left; of those he only wanted to protect from the plague that ravished and tore his body apart.

"You sssee now."

His form was changed into a coiled and hissed snake.

"He'ss already dead."

The evidence was clearly here, the sight, the memories, the final night of his life.

"Then he was wrongfully stripped of his life."

I growled at the withering figure. The aura from my rune like marks still glowed strong within the darkness. His form changed to the bird, soaring high above the broken and shattered lightened cracks above me.

"I'm sorry, I must take him." He dove down, landing hardly a foot away. "...Unless... You'd want to take his place."

Silence formed around the shadows of light. Staring between the cracks; the world lay out there, all of them still around fighting off there assailants.

"He has a family."

I spoke quietly.

"Precisely the reason why I can take him. Life is a rare thing, if he didn't have an offspring; we'd consider letting him cheat death."

I sighed, staring into the milky eyes of the dead.

"It's not my decision to make, it's his."

"Very well, let's see how this situation here takes place." Placing Fylakas's chain to the ground by my feet, he stared with a smile. "I believe that belongs to you... Mortal, you should keep it... Good bye."

The orb shattered, sending blackened glass outwards. Moonlight struck against my body, and those marks were no longer there. The golden chain glittered by my feet, and the wisp's crystal lay not too far away. The faded blue light grew stronger with the chain near it, pawing the crystal towards it; I fumbled for a second and put the wisp upon it. Putting the chain on, I bolted to my friend's aid. His body was struck to the side, as a blade careened down. Charging through the wind and whistle of arrows, yips and calls from the creatures started up. Red and yellow tattered cloth was wrapped around, doused within the sands of time. An odd thin blade was in there glove covered hands. Looking at me, it whipped against the wind, the ruggedly sharp blade shot by missing me entirely. A wild strike led towards another poorly controlled attack. Hardly needing to dodge, my body dove forward, and my claws dug into the cloth. Tearing deeper into the fabric, I shredded my claws in; dragging it to the ground. He stood up almost shocked from the sight, almost a whimpering sound rose as I started ripping further into the cloth. Hands resisted my strength, though I still tore through; driving my razered claws into the lower chest of the animal. A female cried out, alerting the others attacking the rest. The focus was on me, and others shot blades towards my direction. Jumping off a blade slit across, cutting my chest. The sting made my fur stand on end. Snarling at the animal something caught my eye. An arrow shot fourth something I couldn't jump back to. Seconds felt like minutes, just an awaited shock of adrenaline and panic that flowed through my body. The body was an obstruction of view darted by, fur that covered my body from the short shot arrow.

"No!"

A foolish bark out led me to charging at the bow. Jumping low, I dug deep between the legs, cutting the left thigh with my claws. Drawing blood blades sliced out, and struck their ally down. Hollow was the sound of his cry, empty with the painful shock of death and betrayal. Falling back the cloak struck the sands with a quiet thump, while the wolf slumped down with the arrow driven through his chest. Growling at the final two, one's blade began to falter; a simple sign of weakness and fear that caught my eye. Swords raised against the gleam of the moon, their reflection softer then the stars in the night. Lights struck my eyes, the shining blades that hit all around. Nothing but a fury of strikes that aimed for me, until they ran off; fear shocked through them. Cuts formed across my face and body, streams of red trickled with the warmth of life that was within. A shocking formed silence between everything until the sounds of pants came through. His body started to shift, fall like the sands. Walking up to him, his eyes studied my face and the stars around it.

"Why did you want to help me?"

His voice was soft, his body twitched with the thoughts and final sights of his life.

"I still do."

My sincere whisper was caught by the wind.

"I was supposed to be gone a long time ago. I remember her calling all those years ago. I remember going to sleep and I finally felt comfort, I finally felt like I was home."

A held sigh came from me as I only stared at him and his words.

"I was with them. I could hear them talk, I could see my daughter grow up, and I could be there with my mate every long and lonesome night."

His words began to break up. Taking my eyes to the arrow, no blood flowed from the wound; his body simply started to break into ashes, ashes that flowed with the breeze.

"I- I want you to have this."

The bracelet fell at my feet, and when I looked up; only the wind was heard.

"You're being tested."

Kiyoko's sister spoke as she watched the ashes reach for the skies.

"A higher power wants you for something."

I didn't speak, I hardly breathed as she started her way to the mountains. The bracelet was a perfect fit around my left paw though it fit no other.

'Odd, it's like it changes its size.'

Following her, everything was whispered, yet the only people speaking were Karisif and Jivera who sluggishly followed closely along. The rocks were larger than I thought; though it was expected from the distance we all traveled. By now the morn was just starting to arrive, though after he left; the howls were no longer heard. The rocks held a large crevice; darkness was what covered the inside. She walked into the oddly shaped rock, and after a moment; we all followed her. Shadows danced across the walls, a fire rested around a pit of rocks.

"Valkyrie."

Her voice teased my thoughts. Her voice was a soft warm concerning sound that stopped even the coldest of chills. Watching the flames kick up, she almost looked the same, with the exception of red hair like fur that came from her. Her back was tinged with and odd pattern of red and black. Her muzzle down was entirely snow white, and her eyes were still that stunning emerald green that I stared at before. Everything before seemed like a bad dream; as if I was simply seeing things. A soft smile came from me, though it faded at a clearer view of her chest. A very dark red scar, long and thin from what was pared across it before was formed across her white fur, hidden by the shard of her snowy pelt.

'The Strahzi's sword mark.'

A shiver ran through me. She held her own smile, until her eyes fell upon Karisif and Jivera.

"Why the hell did you bring those two lunatics here?"

"Kiyoko, I was caught and thrown into those fights."

She had a small gasp, and immediately walked over to her.

"Are you okay?"

She hardly spoke it instead she breathed it out. The sound was shaken with fear and concern.

"I'm fine."

Before she could speak again, her eyes fell upon mine.

"Who the hell is this?"

Her voice changed dramatically, from its soft edged sound to a rough demanding voice.

"That's why I brought them here." Valkyrie turned to me. "Go on." She spoke in an urging voice. Something suddenly felt and sounded odd as I walked into the light, like all this was off once more.

"Yeah, who the hell is it?"

She looked at me for a while, until she saw the golden chain.

"S- Senshi?"

I couldn't tell if it was fear or disbelief. Suddenly becoming flustered, I tried to speak though I could only stutter out.

"Y- You're supposed to be dead."

Dead, the words that made me hear wing beats against the skies. A soft thud made everyone stop speaking.

"Through there, we should leave."

Kiyoko was hardly a whisper, and as we walked into the final darkness of the night, the wisps crystal glowed softly on the chain. Finally noticing that the odd darkness no longer was there; that my sight was clear and the world didn't seem so colorless, a shadow shot down; large at first than shifted into multiple forms.

"Strazhi."

My voice was broken, and we all were placed; surrounded by the sudden shadows. Jivera made an uneasy whimper, as Karisif held a violent growling as the rest of us did. A spoken word made them dissipate shortly after.

"Kíndynos."

One of their voices, and then they were gone.

"Kindynos? What the hell does that mean?"

Valkyrie spoke in confusion, though the language was too familiar. Wing beats struck the skies as the sun still hadn't pierced the horizon.

"Danger."

I whispered it at first, and then called it out as a scaled figure dove down. The earth shook as if a god struck upon it, and through the thrown sands, and anthro figure stood within it.

"Fylakas."

Kiyoko's growling was a violent snarl of hate. Charging at him, he brought a single hand up and swayed it down.

"Sit girl."

The voice stopped her on cue, forcing her to the sands; while she could only try to resist the odd form of power over her. The patter of feet made him turn, Valkyrie charged fourth and struck at him. Tearing only the fur upon his face as he hardly moved to the left. His hands were brought up, and only darkness was shot from it. The color of black, red and odd shaded violet shot out and launched her back. Her body slammed against the hardened sands as she cried out in an overpowering pain. She couldn't move, couldn't stand back up only watch as he pulled out a disfigured bloody blade.

"You little bitch; you aren't interfering with me anymore."

Kiyoko's voice cried out, Karisif and Jivera were in a sudden shock of panic, and Valkyrie was injured, a blade darting for her. Bolting with the rush of hate my claws shot for him as he sidestepped, and pared the blade downwards. The sword should've gone clean through me, though the light, the wisp protected my body, and pulsed him back; his sword reeled behind him from it.

"And who are you?"

Standing in front of Valkyrie, my growling was a low threatening sound that only grew as his eyes caught sight of his chain.

"Senshi?" He stared almost in awe, and then his eyes narrowed to my heart. "You should be dead."

"I've heard it all before you bastard!"

I barked at him, and as I did he began to laugh.

"You're nothing but a fool, that's why you'll fail here."

He grasped Kiyoko by the throat and brought her off her feet. Before being able to cry out her name, his hand lifted and aimed straight past me. Darkness began to form, aiming at Valkyrie who was just able to bring her upper body up. My thoughts were torn in two, and shot of darkness shot out. Jumping to the left, the darkness pierced at my heart, the markings lit up, hidden under my fur. I didn't completely change though, but the power was enough to protect her. He let out a violent grunt, and I saw a light spring up around him.

"No!"

Bolting forward, Karisifs voice was yelling at me, telling me to stop; and before the light engulfed Fylakas and Kiyoko I jumped and the light engulfed all around covering my sight with nothing but the bright shock of white; then everything went towards a familiar darkness.

Hope you liked Chapter 14!
