Chapter 4

"Oblivion"

He relaxed in the comfy chair as he watched her walk into the back room. She sure had a lot of candles, hundreds all over the room. He knew she wasn't an elementist but instead of witch. Witches were not bad people, they a lot of the time helped people in need, but ever so often there would be the one that went bad. He felt that Salena was one of the nicer ones, one that wouldn't want to take his soul. He sat up straight as she walked back with his sword and, around the hilt, the charm Gerald had given him right before he departed.

"Are you ok, you seem kind of tense." she asked, looking him in the eyes.

He had forgotten that the charm hid his magical aura, Oblivion could have been on his way. He took the sword from her and placed the charm back around his neck.

"Yeah, I'm fine, just a little shaken up is all."

"That's good, so where are you from?" she asked, sitting in the chair across from him.

He told her about his parents and where he grew up. He stuttered a bit as he approached the part of being banished. He explained to her what happened and what it could cause because of what he did.

"You don't have to worry, as long as I'm around you will be safe. I may not look like it but I'm one of Ogmins top witches."

"What about the potion, if you are a top witch that shouldn't have been your first potion that worked."

She wiggled in the chair a bit as he asked her the question.

"Well, I'm specialized in magic, I'm not so use to making potions. I once made a potion that turned a man into a fire breathing dragon. That was a bad day for everyone."

Well it did his heart good knowing that she turned a man into a dragon.

"Yelmi, if you want to stay here that's fine with me. I don't mind sharing my bed and I don't want you to get killed out there after you almost got killed the last time." she told him as her cheeks turned red.

Sharing a bed, with her? Wouldn't that be counted as sleeping together? Of course she was very beautiful and was very kind and had big.... He shook his head as he tried to get a grip.

"Hmmmm, I guess I could."

She smiled and pounced on him like a leopard. Squeezing him close to her own body. It wouldn't be that bad. Oblivion would be looking for a very long time since he couldn't find his aura and so would his pawns.

Meanwhile down at the far south of the continent where the fortress of shadows once stood Oblivion and his cohorts plotted. The big man himself sat on, what was once his throne, now a cracked piece of garbage. His minion all entered with him, bowing him him as they awaited orders.

"Friends, welcome back. It's been a long time."

"Almost one thousand years my liege. What is our plan of attack this time?"

"I am afraid that revenge will have to wait. I have yet to regain my power. I need my blade back to complete me."

"Of course sire, but we still have no been able to locate it. It's own aura seems to be covered up by strong magic."

Oblivion was known for losing his temper, but all he did was stroke his goatee. His black and red cloak ablaze with black fire as he got up.

"No matter, we will find the one who possesses it, and when we do we will peal the flesh off his body and use it to make my greater weapon."

They all raised their swords in agreement as their master grinned.

"Or I have a better idea, we could force him to join us. If you say this person is strong enough to cover up both his and my blades dark aura then he must possesses some great amount of magic."

"But sire, what if he doesn't cooperate. Can't we just slice him up and take the sword back?"

As he got up the steps leading down from his throan started to smoke as he stepped on them.

"If he doesn't cooperate, then simply kill him."

Back at Salena's house the sun just gone down and both of them jumped into bed. It didn't feel as strange as he thought, that was until she wrapped an arm around him and pulled his back against her. Very strange, but he was to tired to question what she was doing, his eyes closed as he drifted off to sleep.

It was dark, he couldn't see a thing. He looked all around but couldn't see the light that he was searching for. It felt like he was falling into darkness. His knees shook until the gave out from under him. He looked up and saw two figures standing in front of him, both looking like him in some way. The one with black eyes felt like evil, he wanted power and lots of it. The other had red eyes wanted power, but not to kill, but to protect. They both reached out for him, it felt like he had to choose one or the other. It wasn't until a bright light shined in his eyes that he saw Salena looking over him.

"Yelmi, are you ok? You were groaning a lot last night."

It felt so real, like he really did have to choose.
