„Unbelievable..."

Kyurex rolled around in his bed, believing it would help him. Regrettably, it didn't. The problem was that he couldn't fall asleep during the past fifteen minutes due to the constant shouting and cheering going on outside.

The Umbreon drowsily approached the entrance of the cave - attempting to clear his head at the same time.

Kyurex and Co were in Olthagen, one of the biggest cities on the second Island. It was one of the few cities to have a duke as ruler.

Yes - The second Island had such a system. There was also an Emperor - and a whole bunch of other important royal figures who were naturally rarely seen by the civilian eye.

Anyways - today was a special Festival in town and people gathered around from almost everywhere to celebrate the anniversary of a mythical war in which the second Island participated. Pokemon of all kinds were going berserk - feasting even on the streets and going as far as using their moves whenever they felt like it. There were also groups of weird Pokemon who would together play as an orchestra. All this made it clearly impossible to get a good night's sleep - and that was the issue for Kyurex.

Blaze and May - and probably everybody else except the Umbreon were also partying.

It's not that Kyurex absolutely didn't want to go and have fun, the main reason for his absence was due to him giving it his all at the Battle Corner the day before. Ever since his training with Revan the Umbreon focused himself more on winning as much battles as he could. It had been approximately one month since they left Altala and any challenge he would encounter - he would accept it, believing that this was the way of increasing his strength.

They were in two other cities where Kyurex made a name for himself by almost flawlessly winning every battle, it was absurd - and of course his companions couldn't do anything else but be skeptical about the whole thing. It wasn't like him at all to eagerly seek out battles, sure he was strong and had the brains, guts AND will but - not to this extent.

The Umbreon himself wasn't dumb enough to give in to this new lust that he possessed - he knew his teammates were catching wind of his secret intentions - and that's why he decided to calm down before things got out of hand. His knowledge of unknown techniques, enhancement of his own moves, the manipulation of external VI energy...he decided not to overuse these new advantages for the time being.

Ey...

Kyurex shook his head. He still wasn't used to it when Revan suddenly spoke within his mind.

What now? I already told you I'm not in the mood to train today...

There was a small pause.

Let's just finish the Molecule Rebuild Technique. It'll be usef-

Tomorrow...

After waiting for Revan to reply and realizing that the beast already had given up trying to persuade him, he thought about what to do next.

Guess I should check out the Battle Corner....

Olthagen was almost identical to Altala - the same "Hut" system was present here too - there was a Battle Corner and so on - the real big difference was the SIZE. Altala was nothing compared to Olthagen, it was like comparing an Orange with a Watermelon.

The Battle Corner too - was like 2 times the size of Altalas - a real coliseum.

Eh...

Kyurex, after a Twenty-Minute-Walk stood not far away from the big gates of the Battle Corner. The amount of creatures still waiting to get inside overwhelmed his will to try and get in - the Umbreon knew that alone GETTING in line would be a problem. After watching the rowdy crowd for some minutes - he turned around and left, aimlessly walking next to the large wall of the Battle Corner.

But it didn't matter where or how far he went, the shouts and screams and everything else followed him.

I guess I'll just walk around town or something...there's nobody there anyway...

But before he started walking to explore the depths of Olthagen, something caught his attention.

It was night time but - that wasn't a handicap for Kyurexs vision.

A black, canine figure flashed before his eyes - not in front of him - but above him. Since his training with Revan he became sensitive to other strong presences, especially ones with either a lot of VI, or weird type of energy.

The Battle Corners walls were at least 10 meters high - but because Olthagens buildings were very, very close to each other, it didn't seem like a big challenge to jump your way up and then over the wall.

Hmm...I guess that's another way in if you don't want to miss the show...

His head swayed from left to right.

All right - let's check it out.

Letting his curiosity get the best of him he slowly approached one of the buildings nearby, looking for a spot to jump on.

Without giving it much thought he leaped onto the nearest pile of blocks.

Phew....

Kyurex couldn't help but to try and catch his breath. If it wasn't for the last jump where he barely managed to hold on to the edge of the roof - it would have been fine.

He was now exactly at the same location from where the other Pokemon jumped before. The view in front of him was exactly what he had expected. He could see some parts of the Stadium - especially the four towers that stood out.

These were like buildings - part of the big Battle Corner Wall with a roof. That was probably the place the other individual landed on jumping from where Kyurex stood now. There was no doubt that standing on the edge of the flat, stone roof would provide anybody with first class view over the battles.

Of course Kyurex thought about the probability of being exposed but to his luck - there were two wide pillars on both ends of the structure holding large flames - probably to make the building stand out.

The Umbreon got ready - and darted off.

"Woo!"

He barely managed to land on all fours - a fact that made his furr stand up. That was a bit too risky - he could've fallen about 10 meters downwards.

And right after the first surprise he felt his spine twingle once again - the reason being the realization of how many Pokemon were present - and just how large the place in itself was. Large.....gigantic....

He quickly hid behind one of the pillars, trying to stay unnoticed. There was no sign of anybody else being present which made Kyurex wonder: Why didn't others use this place to watch? What a waste...

He silently started to enjoy the view.

There was a Cacturne - and a -

Woah...is that a Hitmontop?? I've never seen one before...

Kyurex immediately imagined himself being in their place - knowing that it must be a an overwhelming feeling with such a crowd watching. He couldn't help but feel excited - was the Bronze tournament going to be even bigger than this?

The screams and shouts of the crowd were regulated by the action. Every time one of the competitors would get hit or so something impressive - the fans went wild.

Interesting...

The Cacturne seemed to be very skilled - not giving the Hitmontop a chance to get near to do close combat. His opponent seemed busy enough dodging the Cacturne's Pin Missile to worry about attacking - shortly put, Kyurex was surprised how easily the Grass-Type maneuvered its attacks.

"Daaaaaaamn....That Hitmontop is getting it!!"

Blaze looked like he was dancing, moving his body back and forth between the other Pokemon. May on the other hand tried to keep quiet and watch the match.

Another blow from the Cacturne decided the match, triggering screeching shouts from all over the place.

May desperately avoided being squashed by the spectators who were going wild without a reserve.

"My god..."

She wondered if Blaze was having the same struggles, but after looking at her teammate, she knew there was no need to worry.

"Awwww yeah!!!"

"Calm down already...you're going to hit someone..."

"I'm too nice to hit people yo...I'm even too nice to hit myself..."

"Wha-?" May shook her head, knowing that she shouldn't try and comprehend everything Blaze spouted. The cheering crowd eventually calmed down and the next two creatures entered the stadium.

"Say Blaze...do you think we should check on Kyu?" The Mightyena asked with some discomfort in her voice.

"He's tired and exhausted - probably sleeping his ass off - he's fine, trust me." Blaze responded rather quickly, still keeping his focus on the upcoming match. One competitor was a Tropius, the other was a Zebstrika. Both of them gradually approached each other to the center of the field.

"OOOH MAN - A Zebstrika!" Blaze - and the entire public were starting to get tense with excitement. It was somehow motivating to watch fellow Pokemon battle - it created the lust to become stronger - and it also tingled with ones curiosity making them anticipate the moves of both fighters.

"Blaze, what if he goes wandering off as usual?" May was still concerned with Kyurex, not really paying attention like the rest of the crowd.

But Blaze himself was too caught up with all the cheering to pay her words any attention.

"Okay my fellow fans!! Today we have a special guest here with us..."

Kyurex was still stupefied from all the action. In the end, the Tropius had won the match by use sheer persistence. IT was amazing, he actually thought of some new ideas for his own future battles. The Umbreon lazily turned his eyes at the narrator, who was, like all the other narrators from before - a Machamp. The six armed creature then suddenly pointed at Kyurex. The whole crowd turned towards the tower the Umbreon was using to spectate from.

"Our special guest is...."

WHAT!!? NO WAY!

Kyurexs furr now literally stood up, and he pressed himself behind one of the pillars. His heart was beating abnormally. Was he really found out? He started to sweat by thinking about how much creatures were looking in his direction.

"The DUCHESS OF OLTHAGEN!!"

Before Kyurex could sound his prayers the whole stadium erupted in cheers, shouts and loud noices of all types. It was chaos for all eardrums in existence.

Duchess of Olthagen?

Kyurex collapsed onto the ground - letting the relief calm his nerves.

Sometimes I think to highly of myself....yeah...not healthy.

It seemed like the whole stadium was watching him but the Umbreon understood that everyone was just dying to see the Duchess. He even got curios himself.

He then realized that he must be on the roof under which the Duchess was standing.

I can't see her like this! I wonder what she is....

He slowly approached the edge...guessing that the crowd was too busy to pay him any attention. Lucky for him the stone roof wasn't as thick as he had expected, so he was able to peek by letting his head hang down.

He had to deal with the fact that everything was upside down.

Hmmm.....

A lot of fighting types...probably body guards and there, in the middle was something that actually surprised Kyurex.

Wait...is that....an Espeon??

Indeed it was. Beautiful figure, perfect Tail ears...everything.

Huh??

The light blue color that resided within the Espeons eyes somehow, reminded Kyurex of someone but, he wasn't sure. Her face..

Wait...It can't be...

The Umbreon lifted his head, standing back up on all fours. He shook his head.

How strange....

The crowd grew louder with every approach of the Duchess. Kyurex was still confused about everything.

"Her majesty has an interest in seeing two particular individuals. As you all know, our young ruler comes from within the depths of the Star Forest."

Kyurex - getting tired of all these occurring strangeness couldn't believe his ears.

So it probably IS her.....

...

......

........

DAMN!!

The crowd carefully listened to the narrator.

"We would kindly ask the two chosen fighters, if you are here tonight, to obey the Duchess wish and compete in this stadium once you are called."

Kyurex felt his throat getting sucked together - he had a bad feeling about this, and the silent crowd didn't make the feeling any better.

"The first participant is...with a row of 17 wins and 1 loss at the Battle corners, coming from the Star Forest - KYUREX FROM TEAM 76!!!"

The Umbreon nearly swallowed his tongue.

DAMN!!!

It really is her...but why is she a Duchess!!?? What the hell!?? Why does she want me to battle??! WHY ME AGAIN!? Uggh.....should of stayed in the cave.

"What the...from Star Forest?" Mays ears sharpened to the maximum. Blaze was also somewhat astonished about the unexpected news.

"Kyu? Why the hell is he getting all the attention again? Ah man...I can't believe he's sleeping right now!! I want this respect!!!" Blaze raged back and forth.

"Well....the authorities probably have their eyes on him, I mean....17 wins and 1 loss? That's really amazing if you think about it, still....what the hell is going on."

May and Blaze were simply put, confused.

Oh hell no!!! I'm staying right here!

Kyurex waited for the narrator to say something, pinning his body behind the large pillar.

"Well...while we wait for the first fighter, let's announce the second one. With 13 wins and 4 losses, also coming from the Star Forest we have....FLAK FROM TEAM 89!"

Kyurex though this feeling would never stop. It only got more and more weird.

Flak? Damn....now there's like no question about it! It's her! She's a Duchess alright....ah man nothing makes any sense really....better get out of here-

Something then caught his attention - it was a sudden wave of noise that came forth from the viewers. Kyurex had to take a look at the stadium.

Man....

It was definitely his old friend - Flak. He wasn't really used to seeing him as a Jolteon but he was sure it was him. The electric type sternly made his way to the center of the field. Kyurex somehow felt obliged to do the same but, he couldn't. He didn't want his friends to find out he was actually not sleeping, and he definitely didn't want anybody to find about his convenient place.

"It seems like Kyurex of Team 76 is not present...a pity that is. A pity indeed. Oh well..."

Why do they think I'm in Olthagen anyway?

A Pidgeotto descended from the tower Kyurex was standing on to sit on one of the Machamps arms. The Duchess probably had a message.

"Oh okay......Our majesty has chosen a new fighter....with 24 wins and 7 losses....BLAZE FROM TEAM 76!!"

...

......

Am I dreaming or something???

Kyurex couldn't keep up his mind with all these new circumstances/changes but something told him that this was not good. He didn't want his team to have an even bigger grudge with his old friends. Because even though they didn't see him as one, to him they were still close companions. The fact that the Duchess was somehow strongly related to Kyurexs past became more clear with every minute. He...his friends... the Star Forest.

I have to go down there.....

But I can't!

He walked around in circles.

And then he saw it...The crowd also started cheering again. A dark figure crossed the stadium, steadily approaching Flak. Kyurex didn't have to see it to know that Blaze was devilishly grinning.

Blaze!! Damn...think...think...

There was actually close to no time for any decisions, but no matter what thoughts were going wild ijn the Umbreons head, he knew he couldn't let the two battle.

Suddenly, the whole crowd faced the Umbreon once again, surprising him once more. This time, the crowd echoed in surprised and shouts started to pop up from everywhere. The narrator also seemed shocked.

"Oh my god...someone has attempted to attack the Duchess! The guards are on his tail!"

"Huh?"

Before Kyurex could understand what was going on a canine creature jumped onto the roof, landing right in front of Kyurex.

"Oh?" The stranger was shortly taken by surprise of the Umbreons presence.

It was an Umbreon. The same energy Kyurex had felt before built an aura around the special creature. Why was the new Umbreon special? Because unlike Kyurex, his rings were dark blue, and his eyes generated a light blue brightness.

"Hmph..." The blue Umbreon dashed past Kyurex, who was still trying to get grasp of his intentions.

The whole stadium was now in an uproar and he knew he had little time before the guards would chase after him.

"Damn!" Without giving anything any thought and following his instincts, he sprinted after the blue Umbreon.

Okay....I won't be able to run forever....why am I running anyway?

He thought about it some more.

This isn't good...they could mistake me for the culprit! I guess I have no choice but to get to the real one!

He jumped back to the building's rooftop. It wasn't that hard as before, with all the adrenaline rising in his body.

Agility!!

His legs felt much lighter. Since his training with Revan his agility improved and progressed to another level. He swiftly made his way, jumping from house to house whilst following the special VI that left its trace in the air. His blue friend was now visible and not that far away. Kyurex swiftly jumped from one place to another.

"Nnngh..." Kyurex nearly caught up to his target, provoking the blue Umbreons attention.

"You're fast...but not fast enough..."

It only took a split second and Kyurexs prey totally changed his direction, turning to the right at such fast pace - it was obvious that he too, was using Agility. Kyurex wasn't prepared for it, but nevertheless halted to continue running after his partner. He increased the intensity of his Agility - Now he truly was one with the wind.

He was thankful that the rooftops were clear of Pokemon which were probably all attending the Battle Corner. HE didn't know what would happen if He collided with someone with such speed.

The chase went on for some time, making the city seem endless - but nevertheless - Kyurex caught up until his friend was no more but 5 meters away.

"Hmm..."

The blue canine glanced behind him, noticing the issue. He then turned his head to look forwards again.

"Hehe..."

He felt like playing with his pursuer.

Kyurex also realized it. There was a wide gap between the building they were running on and the building they were running towards to. It was about two meters lower but still quite far away.

The blue Umbreon accelerated his pace to the maximum.

"Huh!!"

Unbelievable...he actually jumped...

Kyurex gritted his teeth. There was no chickening out for him, ever... He gave it his all.

"Nah!!!" he sprinted as fast as he could, getting ready for the moment he would have to put all the force he had into his front paws.

"Hehe..."

The blue Umbreon successfully landed on the other building and instantly turned around, showing his grin. It was obvious that he had something in mind.

Kyurex jumped. His target prepared himself.

"Looks like you're going to make it...or...let's say... WOULD of made it...ICE BEAM!"

The blue Umbreon shot the beam at the ground of the roof, forming a thick wall of ice about two meters high on the edge. Kyurex panicked - not possessing the time to think why would an Umbreon like him would be able to use an Ice Type attack. He had other worries.

Damn!!!

There was no turning back...he was going to crash into the wall at full speed with full power. The only thing that he could hope for was that he could possibly crash through the ice and land onto the building.

"This is going to hurt...." The blue Umbreon shut his eyes, turning his head way.

*CRASH*

"Ungh!!"

The impact was tremendous. Kyurex thought his head was being ripped apart. He slid across the roof, halting right before his prey.

Daaaaaaaamn...........everythings blurry....man...

His vision was smudged - his head was ringing - his conscious was fading. The sound of someone stepping onto shards of ice - breaking them in the process - got louder.

"The name is Frost....don't forget it."

Unngh......

Drip*

Drip*

Drip*

Kyurex meditated in silence. He felt actually quite fresh, even though he was in some dark dungeon behind blood stained metal bars.

He wasn't sure who framed him...and why that guy could use Ice-Type moves...

He wasn't sure about the true identity of the Duchess and what the relationship between her, him, Flak and Blaze was.

May was probably angry with him...again...

He was in prison...and was probably going to be executed...

And all he wanted was to....

So...care to explain once again how we ended up in this, gloomy cell?

Kyurex sighed. The dripping water from the wall was already getting on his nerves, and now even Revan was starting to annoy him.

Weren't you watching?

Eh....nah I was taking a nap actually...

Revan sounded uninterested, more so pissed off.

I got mistaken for a criminal who attempted to assassinate the Duchess it seems. More details?

There was a short pause.

Nah it's okay. Good night.

Kyurex couldn't believe his mentor.

The sound of dripping water continued uninterrupted. Even though the ground beneath the Umbreon was hard and uncomfortable, he didn't move an inch.

Once again I've managed to get myself into the most unbelievable situation ever and as usual, things just get worse and worse....now who would've expected something like THIS? God damn...It's hard being me...
