#2 of An Intresting Relationship

Second Chapter in the story, all my creation blah-blah-blah. Hope you guys like it, I'm having a bit of trouble getting the length into the chapters, but that will probably sort it's self out when the story gets a bit more complex. If you haven't read the first chapter I suggest you do so now! Please leave comments and tell me how good/bad it is and how it can be improved. Enjoy!

  • * * Chris paced up and down the length of his living room, talking seemingly to the room at large. "Ok, so what if it's a date? It's just a night out. Nothing wrong with that." he paused slightly, but before anything could answer he continued "But what if it's a joke? What if I go around and no one's there? Or if it's a false address? Ah! Why am I obsessing over this!?" He hurled himself down onto the sofa and looked down. "What do you think?" The Cat simply rolled off the sofa, landed on Chris's feet and carried on sleeping. Chris sighed and looked down. "Well thats your answer to everything" he said scowling. The Cat did not react. It was five minutes to 8, so Chris made sure he was dressed appropriatly, nothing too casual, but nothing too serious. Just going out with a girl... A really pretty girl. Steeling his resolve and looking to the Cat for a last word of comfort, which it didn't give seeing as it was still asleep. Chris opened the front door, closed it behind him, and leaned over the fence. He knocked 3 times on the door, after a few awkward seconds of waiting the door opened and standing there was his date for the evening. "Hey" she said, then looking at him awkwardly, "What are you doing in my neighbours garden?" "I live here" Chris replied casually. "Really!?" she said in a tone of genuine surprise. "I never knew that..." "Yeah well..." Chris murmered looking for something to say "Nice pair of shoes" The Dragoness looked at him for a second and then giggled. "Thanks, so where are we going?" "Well I thought we could go to that restaurant that opened a couple of weeks ago, you know the one down Pinehurst?" "Oh I love it there" she reached over the fence and grabbed his arm, dragging him down the path "Come on, lets go" Half an hour later he and Sarah were sat in a semi-crowded restaurant which had a large open dance floor, and various types of music drumming out over a 32 speaker sound system. He looked over at her, watching her tap her fingers to the music on the table, she was looking out at the couples and people on the dance floor, Chris gazed over noticing a particularly agile Wolf which was performing some astounding break-dancing that most humans could only accomplish with great difficulty. Dragging his eyes back over to his date he waited a few moments before asking hesitantly. "So... why don't you tell me a bit about yourself?" The emerald green Dragoness looked around at him, even caught off guard he couldn't quite take his mind off of how beautiful she looked. "Um... Well I was born in Preston, thats kinda north of Wales, my mum and dad moved the family down here a few years ago. So compared to a lot of people I'm still kinda new here, I joined a sports club in school and even after we all left we still meet up almost every other day for some kinda game. But you sorta already knew that didn't you?" She laughed gently and placed her clawed hand on the back of his head, lightly scratching the aera where the two balls had damaged his skull. Chris laughed as he gently reached up and took her hand in his, lowering it down to the table. "Yeah I did." He said still smiling, "So whats it like being a Dragon?" he asked, trying to find something to keep the conversation going. "It's good, better than most people think it would be at least, my parents were both human so they were both surprised when the Doctor's in the hospital handed them a small green lizard in a blanket." she paused thoughtfully a small smile on grew across her face. "But I'm really lucky, I can shapeshift into different forms, if I wanted to I could turn into a full Dragon, or completely human, I can even take on features of both. But this anthro form is my favourite, I guess it comes with the whole magic thing..." "Wow, that's amazing, I've never heard of a furry who could control thier..." he cut himself off, the food had arrived. A large male Lion set down a plate of pasta with a small side salad and a plate of steak and vegetables. "Thanks" the couple said to the waiter as he left them to enjoy thier meal and attend other customers. "This looks delicious" Chris said staring down at his pasta. "Yeah it does" Sarah remarked. "Could I have my hand back so I can eat it?" Chris looked up and realised that he hadn't taken his hand off of hers the whole time they had been talking, he removed and looked busy with his plate, trying to hide the embarassment on his face. The two talked throughout the meal, discussing family friends and common intrests, by the end of it they were laughing and joking like the best of friends. When two empty plates sat between them, Sarah's ears twitched and she looked toward the dance floor "Oh, I love this song!" she said suddenly taking his hand. "Dance with me?" "I don't know how" Chris replied with a half-hearted smile. "Oh come on, it's easy! Here I'll show you" She led him gently over to the dance floor, no sooner had they got onto the floor then the music changed into a slower paced peaceful tune, Chris noticed that people and furries left the floor to return to thier tables in various numbers. Leaving only couples stood on the floor... Sarah, unfazed by the turn of events turned to him and said "This is better, slow dances are easier." She smiled gently as she stepped infront of him and placed his hand on her hip and took his other hand in hers. The two revolved slowly on the spot, occasionally moving past over couple on the floor. "See you can dance." she said teasingly as the music rose to the climax of the song. "Yeah, well... Like you said slow dancing's easy." He felt this quite untrue, he was having astounding difficulty not treading on her feet. He looked up at her only to find that she was already looking at him, thier eyes met and for a brief moment he felt like they were the only two in the room, she slipped her hand out of his and slowly raised her arms and wrapped them around his neck, resting her head over his shoulder and closing her eyes. Chris lowered both of his arms and held them around her waist, enjoying the warmth and comfort of having her warm body pressing against his. The music was reaching it's end and it's climax, Sarah pulled back to look into his eyes, she looked into his handsome blue eyes for a few seconds, and then without warning, she kissed him. He wasn't expecting it, but he certainly didn't mind it, he slowly closed his eyes as he felt her lips press into his and he kissed her back, enjoying the sensation and hoping that the moment would never end. The song finished and Sarah very slowly broke the kiss, she pulled back as he slowly opened his eyes and watched his lips form the word "Wow..." An hour later, after some more talking and dancing they were home, Chris walked her up her driveway and they stopped at her front door. Both turned to the other and said "I had a really great time tonight." then they both laughed as they looked at eachother. Sarah stepped closer to him. "Do you think we could have another night like tonight? she asked him, gazing up into his eyes with a look of nothing but want of an answer. "Of course" he smiled down at her. Then she kissed him again, Chris closed his eyes once again as he felt the sensation of her warm soft lips pressing into his, as his mind slowly numbed from it, he felt her lips parting his, he willingly let his mouth open just a little bit wider. She placed her hand on the back of his neck and pushed her tounge slowly into his mouth. Running it teasingly along his. His mind just shut down as he surrendered to the kiss, feeling nothing but a distinct pleasure and a burning desire to hold her close to him. After a few minutes that would have been awkward to a visitor the kiss ended. And she turned to go into her house, but not before reaching up to his ear, and whispering "Goodnight" "Goodnight" he said, his voice sounded far away, as he watched her close the door on him, looking at him from behind it. After he was sure she had gone in he sat on the fence, and rolled backwards over it, landing on his feet in half a backflip. Straightening up he pushed his door open and went inside. Chris woke up the next morning to the sound of someone knocking on his door front door, he looked over at his alarm clock, the display read 10:15, deciding he could spare a moment out in his boxers he got up and answered the door. It was Sarah, holding his Cat. Chris immeadiatly wished that he had put some clothes on. She looked up and down what she could see of his body poking around the door before speaking. "I found this little guy laying down on my kitchen floor." she said gently stroking the animal half asleep in her arms. "I was just gonna let him go but then I remembered seeing him in your back garden with you a few times, so I thought I'd bring him round." "Oh" Chris spoke slowly, still half asleep. "Thanks... Do you wanna come in?" "Yeah sure" she replied without even thinking about the answer. He opened the door wide and let her step through into his living room. She set the Cat down on the floor, it immeadiatly turned around and headed straight out of the front door, flopping down onto the path hot from the morning sun. Chris shut the door and turned to Sarah. "Excuse me two seconds" he said, Sarah noticed the shade of red his cheeks had turned. Without another word Chris bounded up the stairs. Sarah sat down on the arm of the sofa and waited for his return, which he inevitably did around 2 minutes later. "It took you two minutes to put on a shirt and trousers?" she asked him, wondering what else he paused to do. "Um, yeah..." he looked at her with a curious look on his face. "You seem different". She smiled and stepped up to him. It took Chris 30 seconds to notice the blindingly obvious change. "Your human?" he said in a voice that matched his expression perfectly. "Yes" she replied, enjoying watching his brain work overtime. "I can change what I look like, remember?" she called two dragon wings into existance, erupting from her back and wrapped them around him to give him a gentle reminder. Chris suddenly realised how stunningly beautiful she was now that her wings had pulled him close to her and forced her face to take up most of his view. He gazed into her emerald green eyes and as she drew closer to him he felt her red hair brush lightly over his shoulders. "I'm going down to the field for a game of basketball with the guys." she spoke softly, her lips almost brushing his. "I was hoping you would come?" she looked hopefully into his eyes. "Promise I won't get hit in the head this time?" he said with a grin. "Hmmm..." she wrapped her arms around his neck and looked up at the ceiling pretending to be deep in thought, "I can't promise you that, but I'll be there to catch you if you do." Chris smiled and simply nodded. "Ok". "Good" she said, taking his hand in hers and leading him back to the front door.
