I stared at the dragon, trying to figure a way out that didn't involve getting eaten. I was about to try to push the dragon off me when it got off me.

"Sorry about that." Said the dragon, which sounded male."Didn't mean to land on you."

I started, not expecting him to talk. I tried to respond, but all that came out was "Ungh."

He started laughing, something that threw me off even more than talking.

"First time teleporting , eh? Yup, that'll throw you off every time."

I found my voice. Still not entirely sure that he wasn't going to eat me, I was polite.

"Where are we?"

Well, politer. This question threw him. He glanced at me questionably.

"You truly don't know?"

"No." I said, trying to stand. He gave me a hand up.

"Well, this is the most prestigious school of magic."He said with a flair of his arms.

After seeing a dragon, this didn't surprise me.

"Magic?" I asked, interested.

This question seemed to surprise him even more than the first one had.

"Magic is where we use the energy that ebbs and flows everywhere, stronger in some places and weaker in others. Everyone knows this."He looked at me, a question in his eyes. "What planet are you from?"

I told him.

If I had thought that the questions before threw him, this caused him to go into a , I'm not really sure what it was, but I think it was a panic attack. he grabbed my arm, starting to pull me towards the largest building around. He was muttering to himself, but I managed to get the gist.

Me being here was bad. Very bad.

This made me a little mad. What had I done? I hadn't been here five minutes!

We entered through big, fancy doors, the ones that you see in the old cathedrals. Up the stairs, through another door, and was told to sit.

"I have to go talk to somebody, stay here and i'll send someone with food." He left.

Unable to, no, unwilling to accept what had happened, I wandered, I explored the room. Interesting item littered the wall, desk, even the floor! I moved to exam the mirrors intricate edging, when my reflection caught my eye. My body was like the dragon's! Bipedal, but comfortable on all four. Tail big enough for balance, but not big enough to drag. My mind tried to deny this, but I could feel that this was true.

Shrugging( as this was certainly surprising, but after all that?) I went back to my exploring. After about five minutes, food arrived, in the form of raw meat. Before I realized what my body was doing, I had instinctively snapped up the meat. Immediately, my mind gagged, but my new body enjoyed it. I sat, unwilling to move while I contemplated what a mess I had gotten myself into.

The first dragon I had met entered, along with a new one. I compared the two, know that my mind was calming down. Not as much as would have liked, but enough.

The dragon were similar, but also different. The first one was bronze in color, with gold colored flecks. The second was smaller, and was green and blue. They sat down behind the desk, facing me. The first one I had met spoke first.

"I realize that I haven't introduced my self, and to save time, I will introduce myself and the headmaster at the same time. I am he who is called Walker, and the headmaster is Mr. Staris."

I realized that I should do the same. " I'm Jim."

Walker spoke. "Well Jim, can you explain to me the circumstances that brought you here?"I agreed. I explained how I had caught across a field, gotten mugged, and almost killed. I ended with saying. "My necklace glowed, and knocked out a gang member."

Mr.Staris nodded. " Your necklace is your point of magic." As if that explained everything. Seeing my expressing, he elaborated. "Magic is an energy all around us, yes?

I nodded.

"Only certain people can use it, and even fewer can use it without a point of magic. What it does is gathers enough energy to complete a spell."

I nodded, it was simple enough to understand.

"But..." He cut me off with a wave of his hand.

"There will be enough time to answer your questions later, but for now there is only one. Will you stay here and study with us?"

I gaped.

Walker continued. "Here you will learn swordsmanship, continue your education, albeit in our form, and of corse magic, among other things.

This was all more than I could hope for.

"Of course!"

Mr. Staris smiled, trying to be friendly, but it was more discerning that confirming.

"Walker, will you show our friend the school, while going over the rules and expectations?

"Yes, Headmaster."

As I walked off, thinking about my future, I felt a presence touch my mind. I opened up, to see if my suspensions were correct. They were.

"You again?" said the voice from my head.

"Yes."
