Groaning slightly, the one laying on the ground, surrounded by the sound of nature, the trees moving slightly in the wind that blew around him, the grass soft underneath his face as his eyes slowly opened; the ray of sunlight hitting his face. Grumbling at the feeling of light in his eyes, he sat up and started to rub his eyes slightly, yawning and shaking his head trying to remember what happened to him, and where he was at the moment. All he could remember was having a fight with his family, they wanted him to do something else with his life, while him, something else.

It's just not fair at all. He muttered inside his head, his eyes closed again. I don't want to be a lawyer like them, I want to see the world and help those who I can... he sighed and rubbed his eyes once more and reopened them, going to see what time his watch held, but he couldn't find his watch, his eyes widened in shock, not because he thought someone had robbed him, but that he was looking at a black claw! Looking down at him; he saw that he was not his old six foot self, but small, maybe close to three feet tall. Shocked he tried to crawl away, but felt pain on his backside as he felt pain. Looking back he saw a long tail, with flames fuming at the end. Almost freaking out, he saw the water near him and got up and ran toward it, falling every once and a while because of the tail, not so use to it as he fell on his knees, and saw what was looking back at him; a black Charmander. The once human brought his claw hand up to his cheek, his body all black save for the underbelly which was yellow, even his eyes were black, the part that were to be white were black so to say, while his pupils a deep gold like shine. His tail even shooting a black and yellow flame, unlike the many other Charmander whose tail flames were red and yellow. He couldn't even speak at what he was seeing, pulling on his cheek he didn't feel anything at first, so he punched himself hard; it hurt.

"Okay so not a dream," he muttered to himself slightly shaking his head. "What the hell happened to me!?" he yelled toward the sky as if thinking he would get the answer from the heavens, but like always, he never did. Sighing he stumbled back down, thinking why he was a Pokémon in the first place. He had always loved Pokémon as a child, begging his mother and father to allow him to become a trainer so that he could go about the world to become stronger, but always, they refused, saying they didn't want their family name to be tainted by something as silly as catching Pokémon to see who is far stronger in battle. He told them that this was his dream, to become the champion, to help those that need help, but as always, they chose his path for him. Maybe this was his chance; he looked up as he thought of this. He wanted a adventure, what better way then to become a Pokémon and help others like him, he knew that there were Pokémon who were abused by their trainers, so maybe he could help said Pokémon while in this form? He smiled at this, even though he got his wish to start an adventure, he really didn't think of becoming a Pokémon, or maybe because of him running away from home to start his own adventure, and the chilled night is just causing this to all be a dream.

"Someone help!" the now Pokémon heard the cry for help and snapped his head to the right, wondering if he just thought up the cry, he did think he was crazy, if he was a Pokémon now, but then again he heard the cry, but this one of pain, followed by a angry like roar. Something made him want to find out what it was, though from hearing that roar, he didn't really want to, but all the same, he got up, and started to make his way toward the sound of screaming.

Running fast, now easily able to run with the tail, the Charmander jumped over fallen trees as he came to a stop behind some bushes, he was amazed at first how his tail flame didn't burn anything at all, so slowly peeking over the bush, he saw what was making all the screaming and roaring. At once he could see that the Pokémon that looked to hurting the other seemed to be a Lucario, but it did not have the yellow or blue fur. Just like him, it was all black; eyes still a deep red as it closed in on it's pray, a small Totodile. This one looked like all the other of its kind, water blue scales with a yellow almost V like shape on its belly toward the chest red eyes also, and red spikes going down it's back. It was huddle underneath a tree, slight blood around its alligator like mouth and body as it shuddered in pain. The Lucario moved forward ever so slightly, a paw up as a black aura was seen flowing around its paws, ready to bring the last blow.

"Stop!" the Charmander had seen enough and jumped out of his hiding place as the Lucario turned back to see the Pokémon, ready to fight for a moment, until it stopped. A slight smile on the muzzle of the Pokémon causing Charmander to move back a bit until it moved away from the Pokémon behind him and grinned more.

"My brother of our master," the voice sounded male. "So nice to join me in this moment, you are still weak I see, come, kill this even weaker Pokémon and make his soul yours!"

"I don't know what you're talking about," he answered back holding his claws up. "But I'm not about to let you harm that Pokémon anymore!" the black Lucario seemed somewhat confused by this remark as it glared.

"You hold the color of our master," He answered. "But you do not follow him?"

"As I said," he answered once more. "I do not know what you're talking about! Now leave that Pokémon alone now!" the Lucario laughed loudly and shook his head slightly.

"And what makes you think you can tell me what to do?" he demanded. "Tell me this, what is your name?"

"My name?" asked the small black lizard as he took a step back with his foot to get ready to fight, though he couldn't fight well enough, maybe he could give the blue Pokémon enough time to escape. "My name is Brandon," he answered as the Lucario smiled.

"Good," he answered. "Then I will crave that name into the stone I will make for you once I kill you!" at once he jumped toward Brandon throat, yelping slightly in surprised, the black Charmander rolled out of the way before the Pokémon could slash at him with his paws. Running toward the Shadow Pokémon, Brandon jumped and punched him in the gut as hard as he could, but it seemed to have little to no effect at all. Lucario grinning grabbed the human now Pokémon throat and threw him beside the blue Totodile. Groaning, he stood up slowly, shaking his head slightly, he would not give up at all, he would fight and make sure that this Pokémon would get out safely!

"Get...out of here," Brandon gasped holding on to his chest before falling to one knee. "I don't know how long I can keep him off of you!" the blue Pokémon turned to him with a shock look as he too stood up.

"Why are you helping me?" he questioned. "Aren't you one of them?" again that same question as Brandon shook his head, the Lucario moving closer to the kill.

"I already said no," he answered in a somewhat snarl. "Now get out of here!" only nodding, the Totodile got up and made his escape, slightly limping from the pain as the Lucario snarled and clutched his paws.

"You will regret letting him escape whelping!" he growled before attack Brandon again.

As the Totodile ran off, he stopped by a tree to catch his breath, the soft sound of thuds being heard behind him made him close his eyes; his claw ranking into the tree as he heard a cry of pain from the Charmander known as Brandon, who was no doubt going to lose his life trying to save him. Opening his red eyes, he turned back toward where he ran, and started to run back.

Brandon once more found the taste of dirt in his mouth, being belly down on the ground, he coughed up slight blood as the Lucario picked him up by his neck once more and started to squeeze him, a cry of pain escaping Brandon lips as the Lucario started to laugh, until roaring in pain. Brandon opened his eyes, not realizing that he had them closed to see that the Totodile that ran off, had bitten the Lucario on the head, quite deeply too seeing how he couldn't even see his teethes. Dropping Brandon, he Lucario screamed more, trying to yank the Pokémon off his head, Brandon now seeing his chance, head butted him hard in the gut, causing him o stumble back, the Totodile releasing his grip and falling on his side. Brandon went over to help him up as Lucario howled in pain, clutching his head.

"I thought I told you to get out of here?" demanded Brandon as he held his left arm in his right, it was slightly hurting, but nothing a little rest after this fight would cure, if they made it that is.

"I...I couldn't let you die for trying to save me," he answered looking down slightly. "I...couldn't live with myself if I allowed that to happen!"

"If he gets his way," pointed out Brandon, pointing to the Lucario. "He'll take care of that for us." The Pokémon once more turned to the Lucario as he gulped in slight fear but nodded.

"Well...I'm going to help," he answered nodding his head. "Maybe with the two of us, we may have a chance!" Brandon saw him shaking a bit; the thought of fighting a monster like this scared him too, but smiled at the Pokémon bravely and nodded.

"You got a name?" asked Brandon turning fully to the Lucario who snarled at the two once more.

"Max," he answered as Brandon nodded.

"Brandon," he answered back as they looked to each other slightly from the corner of their eyes and nodded sharply to the other.

"You shall meet your dooms!" screamed the black Lucario as he ran after the two.

(Greatest battle music of all time: Heart of Courage)

The two jumped away where they once were as Lucario landed where they were, snarling as he brought his paws together, pulling them away slowly as a long thick bone was seen in his paws. Grinning he went for Max, swinging the bone like a bat, Brandon seeing this ran and jumped onto his shoulders, causing the Pokémon to roar in anger and start to trash around, Brandon wrapping his legs around his neck and bit down on the head as well. Once more the Pokémon was submitted to screaming out loudly in pain, trying hard to get the fire lizard off his head as Max head butted him in the gut just like Brandon did. This time, he was able to grab the one on his head, being the lizard and yanked him off, slight pain coming from his head, but he ignored it for the while as he threw Brandon to a nearby tree, causing him to cry out in pain, his back hitting the tree as he fell toward the ground. He heard the sound of Max chocking, looking up to see that Lucario had him by the neck, chocking him with one paw as he glared all the harder. Brandon stood up, he couldn't even move anymore, but he couldn't let Max die, not like this. Opening his mouth to scream from him to stop, Brandon exhaled out hard, a black fuming torrent of flames flew out of his mouth, and was still going, this was not just ember, and this was flamethrower! The moment it hit the Pokémon, it let out an all mighty screech of pain as he dropped Max onto the ground, the flames licked from his right side up to his face, screaming out more as he ran toward the trees, jumping from branch to branch before he was gone. Brandon felt weak, he couldn't stand anymore, falling on his side, his eyes fell as sleep took over him, the last thing he saw was Max running up to him, kneeling down beside him.

Brandon dreams seemed much weirder then usually, he felt like it was real, but at the same time, he knew that it was not. Looking around him, he saw what looked to be a light fazing of fog surrounding all around him, he shook his head as he felt as if something was inside his head, but then, stopped when he heard something. The sound of what seemed to be footsteps, coming closer and closer toward him. But the sound echoed from everywhere, it could've been anywhere and he wouldn't have known. Fear rippled though his body as he gulped worried about what he would be seeing, or not seeing if this thing whatever it was could kill him.

"Do not fear," a voice came from all around the human now Pokémon as he looked around in confusion. "I have not come here to harm you, but to warn you."

"Warn me," question Brandon. "Warn me about what?"

"Great darkness is coming to this land once more young one," The voice spot again. "Though you have the body of a Shadow Pokémon, your heart is all but pure of light."

"Shadow Pokémon?" he asked in confusion as the voice only grunted in agreement.

"Pokémon whose heart have fallen into the blackness of hatred and greed, they care for only pain, and more power, which their master can give them." Brandon was still confused about what was going on until he remembered something.

"Wait," he called out. "Why am I a Pokémon, why am I here?"

"That, you must find out on your own," the voice answered. "But know this, there are two more pure light warriors that must be found, and it is your duty to find them!"

At once Brandon shot up and awake, he didn't know if he could sweat, but if he was still human he would be sweating right now. Looking around he found himself inside, the room looked to be all but one, a large circle like room, like a hut of some sort. The insides were of a nice blue wall, on the side, a fireplace was seen with a burning red and orange flame, licking up into the stone tower to allow the smoke to leak out. Looking down he seemed to be laying on a nest, surprising it was nice and cozy for him, and like he found out before, his tail flame didn't burn anything.

"Oh you're awake!" Brandon looked over toward the front door, in walking in Max, he looked better then when he last remembered, not a bruise or cut on him at all. He carried in a large plate of large apples, larger then what Brandon was use to seeing. Walking toward the one who saved him, he placed the apples on the ground and sat on the nest next to him and started to eat at one of the apples. Looking to see that Brandon was not eating, he gulped what he already had in his mouth and passed him one. "Hungry?" he asked holding it up as Brandon looked at it for a moment, and then took at and started to eat it; it was delicious. He started to eat it faster now, not realizing how hungry he really was, soon the two had eaten all but one apple, Max was about to take it, before looking at Brandon and cut it in half, giving the other half to Brandon who nodded and ate it.

"Thanks," Brandon answered still sitting up as he sighed.

"I should be the one thanking you," Max answered looking at Brandon; he was still slightly scared of the Pokémon, whose body was as black as the one who attacked him. "I mean, you saved me by using a flamethrower attack!"

"Yeah I guess I did huh?" he smiled a bit, remembering how it, he was amazed at how he could do such a feat, he knew that only strong Pokémon could do such a attack, so how was he able to? Was he really that strong?

"So Brandon, what are you?"

"I'm a human," at once Max started to laugh, but when Brandon turned to him with his eyes half closed like he did when he was annoyed, one eye ridge raised up, did Max stop laughing.

"You're...not lying?"

"No," Max held a somewhat shocked and scared face at the same time. "I mean, I just woke up where you were at when we met, I don't even know how I became a Pokémon..."

"We need to go and see Master at once!" Max cried jumping up on his feet. "Man Master is going to give me such a yelling..."

"Who is?" asked Brandon also standing. "And why is he?"

"She," Max corrected him. "Master is well, a master at the art of the Rescue Team. She is also the only one around here that can allow our Spirit Weapons to be awakened!" Brandon was even more confused. "I'll explain when we get there, come on!"

"You've really done it this time Max..." the Totodile Pokémon held his head down as his master who had trained him to fight as best as he could, looked down on him. Brandon stood beside him, watching as the natural color Lucario, a female this time with her voice shook her head slightly walking away from them both. Max had led Brandon to the small town Dojo where he was being trained to awaken his Spirit Weapon, something that Brandon still had no idea on what it was. He was going to step up for Max, to tell the Lucario about what had happen, how Max helped him drive off the Shadow Pokémon, but Max saw this and shook his head, his eyes darting back down to the floor. "But," the Pokémon went on with a soft sigh. "I am just grateful that you were not harmed, but still, what made you think that you could fight a Shadow Pokémon on your own?"

"I'm sorry Master," he answered back, he told Brandon that while under her training, until he received his Spirit Weapon, he would have to call her Master as a form of respite. "I didn't plan on looking for a fight, I was out training my mind, clearing it as you said when I was attacked by the Shadow Pokémon, I tried to run, but he was too fast; if it wasn't for Brandon," he told her pointing to the black Charmander. "I don't think I would've been here right now!" the Lucario turned to Brandon for the first time now, eyeing him up and down as he walked before him and crossed her arms.

"Your aura is unlike I have felt in your kind Brandon," she sated. "And it's not because you hold the body of a Shadow Pokémon."

"Well that's why we're here master!" Max piped up. "Brandon here said that he's a human!"

"A human?" she asked, not shocked like Max was, but sort of worried in her voice. "Is this true Brandon, or is this a cruel joke that you play?"

"This is no joke," he answered with a sharp nod. "I am, or was a human, I..."

"Don't know how or why you are here?" she finished as he looked up in confusion at how she knew how he felt. "You are not the first to have this happen to them, many years ago, hundreds of years in fact, this happened before; twice in fact."

"Really?" he answered in shock as she nodded, walking to a wall and pulling at the cloth that covered it, a window there as she looked out, paws behind her back as she nodded, her eyes closed.

"Yes, the first time, a human and a Pokémon formed a Recues team together, much like ours is today, but unlike us, they did not have to SW's. Details are screechy on why the human was sent here, but because of that human and the Pokémon he formed a team with, they battled many Legendarily Pokémon, even Rayquaza stopping a comet that were to destroy the world." She took a deep breath and went on again. "The second time was different; this human came from the future, with a Pokémon named Grovyle. He all but last his name, which we can't seem to know now, at first everyone thought that Grovyle was stealing our world treasure known as the Time Gears, to make the world stand at a stand still, but in fact, he was stealing them to stop the world from fully freezing time! In the end, he returned to the future, his human friend stayed behind with the Pokémon who found him when he too became a Pokémon." She turned back to Brandon and Max, who turned to each other then back to her. "Don't you see what I am saying, every time a human came here, transformed into a Pokémon, and something had threatened the world? I believe with all these Shadow Pokémon roaming around, that it is your duty, along with Max, to stop them!"

"Wait...me too?" asked Max as Lucario nodded her head.

"Yes, every time the first Pokémon that came along with the human who was a Pokémon, they always played a vital role in saving the world, this was not fate, nor chance that you two met, no, this was destiny!" Max and Brandon looked to each other once more, Max with a look of shock, and Brandon in denial.

"I don't mean to sound rude or anything," Brandon stated. "But this sounds a lot like a bowl of bull shit to me!" he answered with his arms crossed. "All this about destiny, no I don't buy it at all!"

"You don't have to," Lucario answered. "But know this, no matter what you do, your destiny will come for you, both of you." She sighed and uncrossed her arms as she turned away. "I offer you my teachings as I have to Max, you may need it. As Max had told me, which Shadow Lucario had his one Spirit Weapon, the Bone Club, you both will need your own, and to do that...I'll have to just force it out of you both."

"You can do that?" asked Max as she only nodded. "Then why didn't you do that for me long ago?"

"Before I wanted to make you a little bit stronger, now we really have a reason for me to allow you to form a team and to wield a SW; now, just close your eyes both of you, and bring your hands out." Both did as they were told as darkness surrounded them from the lack of light. Lucario closed her eyes as well, bringing both of her paws together, palm to palm as she started to draw the power within her; her paws glowing brighter and brighter as she moved closer to the two before her. The two felt her laid a paw on each of their chest, the light moving deep within them as they felt small pain, not enough to make them back away in fear. When she pulled away, she smiled as she saw their Spirit Weapons began to transform into their paws.

Max felt a hilt his on his paws, clutching It tightly as one side felt heavier, opening his eyes, he was surprised to see what seemed to be a war hammer, each side larger then the base of the weapon. The hilt long enough that he could hold it in anyway he wished to. Brandon's own weapon formed on his hand as well. Opening his eyes, he saw a sword's hilt, the sword itself very long, both edges sharp to the point he thought he would cut himself just by looking at it.

"These are just the basic form of your weapons," Lucario spoke softly seeming out of power as she lent on a wall. "As you grow, so shall your SW, when you evolve, so shall they. And before you go," she answered sitting up and going to a small desk and pulled out two gloves. "Wearing these will prove that you two are a Recues team, what will you call yourselves?" Both Brandon and Max looked to each other, a name coming to Brandon as he asked him, he smiled and liked the name as he looked to Lucario and nodded.

"Team Legendz," he answered as she too nodded.
