It had been a few weeks since Phil had showed off his shooting skills, and the group had just finished their training. Every fur had a duffel bag full of tactical gear that was given to them from the range. Over the course of those few weeks, they learned how to shoot, basic hand to hand combat, navigation, and other tactical and survival needs. They were on their way back to the caverns on the underground train. Vadim was wondering what was going to happen next.

"So Ivan, what now?" Vadim asked.

Ivan kept a straight face. "Just do what you would normally do, there's an evil ferret that needs to be taken down. But first, you will need good weapons. I suggest you go to the palace and take some from the front entrance barracks. We've done it before, and it's not too hard. The weapons room is the room right next to the front door, just getting past the walls of the palace is the problem."

Vadim slowly nodded. "Can you help us do it?"

"Haha, no. Think of this as your first real life training mission, after everything I taught you guys you should do fine. I really need to get back to my family and life as a fox that welcomes newcomers to the caverns."

"Wait, you have a family?" Vadim replied.

"Yes, I have a wife and a son. I never mention them because it gets too personal for me. Now we will be arriving shortly, once we do we will part ways. If you ever truly need me, just call me. Also, when you guys finish a mission, I would like one of you to write a report on what happened and send it to my phone. Understood?"

Vadim nodded quickly. "Yes Ivan. Also, Ivan?" The older arctic fox looked at Vadim. "Thank you for everything you have done for us." Vadim then gave him a hug and a pat on the back, which Ivan wasn't expecting.

"I can see that you are special, Vadim. My job is to help the newcomers, but I knew when I saw you that you are different. I really believe that you and your team can stop this monster."

Vadim got a big smile on his face as the rail cars rolled up to the end of the rail. "Wow, well that's a bit of motivation." He said as his tail started wagging.

The group all got off of the train and walked in to town, stopping at the hotel they first arrived at. They all said goodbye to Ivan, who was headed back to his home somewhere in the cavern. Vadim was already formulating a plan to do the mission that night.

"Ok Phil, I know we just came from that area, but I need you to go back home and get guns for everyone here. It's 5 PM now, I figured we can get a start in about an hour after you come back and we get some food. Pavel, go with him, I need a bit of alone time with Sig."

The raccoon nodded and started heading off with his fox. "We'll meet back here, ok?"

Vadim nodded as he and Sig started walking towards the edge of the lake. There was a small park next to the lake with some trees and other plants along with a few benches. A plaque explaining how the low light from the holes above gave the plants just enough sunlight to survive. Vadim and Sig sat down on a bench, and Vadim grabbed Sig's paw tightly.

"Sigvard, these last few weeks together have been amazing. I have never felt this way about anyone before, but I know what I am feeling right now. You're kind, handsome, and treat me like the best fox in the world. So, will you be my mate?" Vadim asked as he kissed Sig's paw.

Sig stretched a big smile across his face and blushed deeply. "Yes Vadim, I would love to be your mate." With that the two foxes locked lips and gave each other a deep, passionate kiss. That kiss turned in to a warm hug, and then they both licked each others muzzles.

"Let's go back to the restaurant in the hotel and order our food. I'll text Phil and ask what he and Pavel want to eat, and we'll order it for them." Sig just sat there, smiling and staring in to Vadim's eyes as he got up. "Come on hun."

The pair walked the short distance back to the restaurant and walked inside. They ordered their food and talked as they waited for Phil and Pavel to show up. About twenty minutes later, they showed up just in time for the food to come. The foxes all ate chicken as the raccoon enjoyed some sushi. Vadim decided to tell them the next phase of his plan.

"Ok, now the next thing we need to do is find a way in to the armory in the front of the palace. Ivan said there is a wall we will need to get past, and evidently the armory is right there. But, I would also like to recon the palace some to get an idea of what we are dealing with here. Does that sound good to everyone?" The whole group nodded as they finished their meals. "Good, now let's finish up and get ready to go."

*************************************************************************************

It was now 9:30 P.M, and the three foxes and raccoon were all in front of the palace in some trees. They were perched on top of a hill to get a good vantage point. Before them was a wall ten feet high and went over a half of a mile in each direction. 100 yards beyond that wall was another wall, seeming to be about 15 feet high, and just beyond that was the massive palace. The palace was huge, with rooms everywhere and spire pointed tips for the separate parts of the building. It all looked like an Indonesian temple.

Phil was spotting some guards on the first wall with a spotting scope, and noticed that every few minutes there would be a gap in the patrols that they could use to slip by. They were right next to a road which led in to the palace through a gate. Behind the first wall was a building, which he assumed was the armory, as well as a parking lot filled with various military and police vehicles. He then started to spot the wall that was further away, and noticed a break in patrols there as well. A few trees dotted in front of the palace and behind the bigger wall.

"Ok team, I got it. We first get over this wall, and then we stay hidden in those vehicles as we slowly make our way to the second wall. Once we climb over that, I presume there is a garden there because I can see some trees. From there we can climb to one of those spire points which may have a good view of the inside of the palace. Once we are done reconing the palace, we make our way back to the armory and we grab as much stuff as we can carry and take off. Any questions?" The three foxes shook their heads. "Let's move."

Phil quickly packed away the spotting scope and ran with the rest of the team to the side of the wall. They saw the shadows of the guards pass, and then Sig threw a grappling hook with a rope to the top of the wall. With a clank, it caught and was hooked tight. The group quickly scaled the wall and then scaled back down with another rope. They ducked and stayed hidden as they ran the 100 yards to the other wall. Just before that wall, they stayed low behind a squad car and waited for the guards to pass, before grappling up that wall as well. The group then dropped from that wall and in to some shrubs below them. The palace was now right in front of their faces, not more than 30 feet away. They made their way around the side of the palace where there were no visible lights through the windows, and threw another grapple to the rooftop.

One by one they ascended, Phil being first and Vadim being last. When they made their way to the top, Phil had made the right assumption. Below them where the roof was lower, the roof was full of panels of glass that was over a massive corridor and dining area. There was a huge table big enough for over 50 furs and big chandeliers hanging from beams that went across the glass ceiling. The team observed everything in the room; the hallways leading to the rest of the palace, the giant chair that probably sat the seat of their dictator ferret, and all of the decorations in the rustic room. After a few minutes of watching, a door opened up below them from a hallway and a young male marten walked in, followed by two Doberman guards. Vadim recognized the sharp dressed ermine instantly.

"Sig, that's the same marten from the news a few weeks ago." Vadim said. "I really wonder what relation he has with the ferret."

Sig slowly nodded. "You're right."

Just then the marten stopped and looked at the ceiling. The group quickly ducked behind the roof. Phil decided to speak up after this happened.

"Well, we better get moving. We saw what we needed to see."

Vadim was the first to rappel down the side of the palace, and then ran to the wall and got ready. Just as Sig was coming down, a guard shined a bright flashlight on him from the wall. Without thinking twice Phil unholstered his silenced pistol and shot the guard in the head. Another guard had seen what happened and made a run to a lookout post on the wall.

"We need to get out of here now!" Phil yelled as he practically jumped from the top of the palace, grabbing the rope as went he down. Pavel was soon to follow as Vadim grappled over the wall and started climbing. He then dropped down from the wall just as sirens started to blare all around the palace. The fox started to think ahead and formulated a plan.

"Get everyone to the front of the armory!" He yelled to his friends. The arctic fox sprinted as he took out his own pistol towards the armory. He swiftly entered and shot a guard that was gearing up to come outside. He quickly looked around and noticed a door that read "BASEMENT". Praying it was unlocked, he turned the handle with a click, and swung the door open. The room was about 10'x10' and was dimly lit, but had several crates and gun racks full of weapons. He quickly trotted down the steps just as another guard, a bull dog, ran in. Vadim quickly shot him and continued to look around the room. Finally he came across what looked like a medicine cabinet. The vulpine pawed it open, and before him were many different sets of keys. He found one that was marked '5 TON' and grabbed it. Just as he turned and ran back up, the rest of the group showed up.

"Phil, Pavel. Start grabbing weapons and put them at the door leading outside. Sig, follow me."

Vadim and Sig ran outside and quickly found a large Military truck that had a canvas cover on the back. The arctic fox fumbled the key in to the door, which unlocked as he gave a sigh of relief.

"Sig, watch my back as you go back to the armory and get ready to start loading up, ok?"

He nodded as Vadim started the 5 ton truck and pulled it around, scraping against a couple of other vehicles in the lot. He noticed a lot of flashlights coming from the palace and picked up his pace. When he got to the armory, Sig instantly started piling weapons in the back. Vadim ran back inside as Phil and Pavel were clearing out the racks, and he noticed several crates and figured they were probably ammo. He grabbed a quite heavy crate and brought it up the stairs, and then put it in the truck as well.

"Listen up everyone, get these crates too, we have less than a minute before the guards get here, move quickly." Vadim told his group.

Within that minute they cleared the basement of the ten crates and weapons it had inside. Phil and Pavel hopped in the covered back of the truck, while Sig sat up front and Vadim drove. He put the truck in reverse and then slammed it forward, picking up speed.

"Hold on tight back there!" Sig yelled as he fastened his seatbelt.

The truck crashed through the gate with a loud bang and drove off. Vadim knew they weren't out of the woods yet, though.

"Phil." Vadim yelled through an open back window that led to the truck bed. "Get one of those rifles loaded up and be ready to fire on some vehicles chasing us."

Phil picked up a rifle as he responded. "You got it, buddy."

"And Sig." Vadim turned to Sig."Call Ivan and ask where we should park this beast where it is safe."

Vadim continued to drive as fast as he could through the windy road that led back in to town, with forest surrounding him the whole way. The road was clear, thankfully, as he barreled down it. The fox noticed flashing lights in his rear view mirror and hoped that Phil was on it. Phil pulled the rifle up and took a few well placed shots through the windshield, and the car rolled to a slow stop.

"Good shooting, coon!" Vadim yelled from the front.

Sig had just dialed Ivan's number and was waiting for him to pick up. Finally he did, and sounded a bit rushed. "Hello?"

"Ivan, this is Sig. We just stole a big truck full with weapons and we are being chased, where should we go?"

There was a small pause before Ivan replied. "Go to the tall building on the corner of 43rd & West Street. Enter that parking garage, it goes underground and from there I will have doors open on the bottom level of it. Just drive in to those doors and make sure no one follows you."

With that the fox hung up the phone and left Sig in a bit of a daze. He quickly shook his head and relayed the news to Vadim. "He said to go in the building on 43rd & West Street, the big one. And then to go to the bottom level of the parking garage where we will see him."

Vadim felt a bit worried. "That's over 10 miles away! Jeez, I hope we make it."

By now they were heading in to the city, and a few cars were driving the roads. Vadim made a sharp turn on to an onramp, and picked up speed. The freeway led to the middle of town, which was now 8 miles away. A cop car was going the opposite direction on the raised freeway, and saw the truck. He quickly turned around and turned his lights on. Phil quickly shot the front tires out, making the car spin out and hit a wall. Not more than a minute later, Vadim could see more cars heading their way from behind.

"Shit." He said out loud. An officer hung out of the passenger window of one of the cars and started shooting at them. Phil fixed this by taking out one of the front tires, which made the car hit another squad car and turned it into the wall. The car hit the wall and jumped in the air, and the speed it was travelling made it start to roll repeatedly. Phil saw the fur that was shooting at him get flung out of the car and then got hit by another squad car that was closing in.

While Phil was keeping the cars at bay, Vadim was busy keeping the truck in control as he weaved through the increasing traffic that was heading in to town. He started panting from the rush he was getting, and then he grabbed Sig's paw and held it tight as he drove on. Phil waited a few seconds for the squad cars to catch up, and then waited for quite a few of them to show up right behind them. He then took out a front tire of the lead car, which spun out and started hitting the other cars, creating a huge wreck that only one vehicle made it out of; a big armored truck.

"Pavel!" Phil yelled. "I'm gonna need something a bit bigger than a gun for this one. Look through these crates and find me something explosive."

Pavel nodded and quickly looked through the crates until he found one full of grenades. "Will this do Phil?"

The raccoon nodded and grabbed a couple of them. He waited for the truck to get a bit closer, and then pulled the pin and tossed a grenade on the hood of it. The grenade rolled and stopped between the windshield and the hood, and the driver tried to turn to make it roll off. He failed, and the grenade exploded, taking out the windshield and everyone in the front seat. The truck rolled to a stop, and it looked like they were in the clear, being only a mile away from the exit.

But, it wasn't over yet. Coming from behind, a helicopter with a spotlight emerged and was racing towards them. Without thinking twice Phil picked the rifle back up and started shooting in to the choppers' windshield where the pilot was. It was to no avail, as the windshield was bulletproof.

"This isn't good Vadim, this chopper is closing in on us." Phil yelled to the front.

Vadim was about to yell back, but then a sudden bolt of lightning struck the helicopter and it exploded in to a ball of flames and debris. The whole group was stunned to see what had just happened not more than 50 yards behind them.

"Holy shit, Vadim. Never mind hahaha!"

Vadim smiled as he pulled off of the freeway and headed the short distance to the building. The fox smashed through the dinky parking gate and then slowed down as he cruised through the underground lot.

"Well team, good job." Vadim told them. "Things got a bit intense back there haha."

Phil nodded and yelled from the back. "I didn't think we would make it for a bit there. How about that freak bolt of lightning? That was a stroke of luck, huh?"

Sig agreed with him. "I didn't even know those clouds were out there."

Vadim got to the bottom level and saw Ivan at the end, standing in a large room. The fox pulled the truck inside, and they all got out as the doors of the room slid closed.

"Well I must say, good job team." Ivan said as he shook paws with Phil. The room started to move downward, and the group realized it was one big elevator. "When we get to the ground floor, just park this beast in the lot. I'm sure you are all tired, so we'll unload it tomorrow."

Sig let out a sigh of relief. "Thank gods, I'm crashing bad from that adrenaline rush."

The group and Ivan chatted more as the elevator descended. When it finally reached the bottom, Vadim parked the truck and went to the hotel with Sig. Phil and Pavel both went to their house and Ivan went to his. Vadim and Sig both quickly hopped in to bed and snuggled each other to sleep, both at peace at last from the day's events and finally being able to sleep together as mates.
