Riok, the muscular black dragon armed with a javelin gun, edged into the main entry room of the Unitology church; he was quickly followed in by Dianos, a slightly larger Sangheili armed with a pulse rifle, both had a plasma cutter on their right hip. The pair were clad in advanced suits; Dianos' helmet modified to look like the traditional ranger helmet of his people and Riok's was shaped to fit his draconic head but leave his two horns on the outside.

Both of them had been friends since their teens and had always agreed they'd meet up if a zombie apocalypse happened, they'd never expected it to happen however...

"I don't like this." Riok said, knowing how the Unitologists felt about the Necromorphs and feeling disgusted by it; he'd seen graffiti in a kid's room that his parents had done asking the Necromorphs to take them and their son and make him great, the kid had scrawled his own note on the back of the door where his parents wouldn't see it.

"Please keep me and mummy and daddy safe from the monsters." It read; Riok could almost hear the kid saying it when he read it.

"C'mon, the main power conduit should run directly under the main hall...If it still works, we can reroute it to power the communication device on the top floor of the apartments." Riok said, moving forwards with his weapon levelled as he scanned over the desk in front of them and took a cool, calming, breath to just steady his nerves and cleanse his mind.

In a place where everything had been turned upside down, spun round and then slanted, no chances could be taken in any choice; after all, there is no second chance when it comes to survival.

"Those bastards started all this..." He said; reaching the desk and pushing the dead vixen off her chair, her head was wrapped in bandages so it was clear she'd been prepared for the Necromorphs. He picked up her text log and read it. The log was only short but did contain a few useful snippets of information about a group of Necromorphs in the area that had found a way into the church and were coming and going at will. Riok tossed it to Dianos so he could read it, before letting Dianos take the lead.

"I could go for a KFC right about now...big fat chicken burger or entire bucket to myself...just some good tasty food." Riok said, watching the rear as Dianos moved forwards. Riok could indeed go for something to eat, but it was more about doing an activity he was familiar with and knew was safe to calm his already paranoid self. Riok often double, or even triple, checked things within the shortest space of time. He wasn't easily scared but he was paranoid when things felt wrong, which were inevitable in a place like this.

"Good old British Fish and Chips for me..." Dianos replied; Riok smirked. Thankfully, Dianos always cheered Riok up. Dianos was also a very cautious Sangheili, but knew he was in safe hands with Riok's paranoia of checking things and his own precautions. Dianos himself was very fun loving, much like Riok, and we currently trying to keep a level head where Riok's imagination was running away with himself a little bit; imagination was almost as dangerous as the Necromorphs at time, but both supported and reassured each other which kept the group strong and resilient.

"Good British food." Riok replied with a smile, glancing to his left and swearing he saw something dart past in the shadows behind the statues on either side of the corridor.

"The fuck?" He asked; Dianos turned to cover him as Riok edged closer only to find nothing. The gap behind the statue was too small for anything anyway...hopefully. The two formed up again and slowly ascended the stairs to the gallery overlooking the main hall, quickly making progress inside and finding more prepared bodies.

The hall was a large circular space with a purple carpet, the same as almost all carpet in this damn place, around the edges on the bottom and top areas were consecutive archways that people could go through to the wings of the room down stairs and made up the balcony up here with railings to prevent injury.

"What drives them to do this?" Dianos asked, already knowing the answer. Riok just shrugged and kept going.

"Who cares...we need to keep going." Riok said; reminding Dianos not too pay heed to the people's suicidal decisions. As the pair progressed, the air around them seemed to thicken and become even eerier as the moved down into the open hallways on either side of the main hall. Dianos suddenly raised his weapon and discharged a few rounds to right between two statues, the sudden light of the muzzle flairs lighting up the area and casting deathly shadows of Unitologist items and statues around the place before everything fell silent again and only the sound of their breathing remained.

Dianos slowly lowered his weapon after realising he was just being jumpy, the tingle of nervousness and adrenaline covering his body as the darkness and silence took hold of the two again.

The sudden outburst of gunfire had put both of the pair off, Riok took the lead without a word and moved quickly through the hall of the church to the far side, like he didn't want to be exposed to the statues or the marker in the carpet for long He looked back to the centre of the room and pointed at the large image of a black marker woven into the carpet there.

"Not for us, not now, not ever." He said; clenching a fist and bending is arm a little to inspire a little confidence in their plan. Riok tapped the switch to open the door and it slid open with a hiss.

Dianos quickly moved in and crouched next to the statue to the left of the door and checked his side of the corridor while Riok did the same but for the right hand side.

Slowly, placing one talloned foot in front of the other, making as little noise as possible as she watched the two move through the door, she moved ahead. Slowly, moving over to a statue of a hooded figure holding a miniature black marker in its hands, she tested the statue to ensure it would take her weight and climbed up it before jumping to the balcony looking down on the main hall where a preacher would stand. The door was jammed open so she moved through and found herself in a long corridor above the pair. She pulled in her limbs and charged off down it.

Riok and Dianos looked, and aimed, up when they heard the soft thudding on the carpet of the corridor above them and waited for it to vanish before moving ahead.

A few unnatural sounds in the distance slowed the group down when the fear set in again. Riok visibly pulled his weapon and arms closer to him while hunching over slightly and Dianos hugged the body and stock of his weapon even tighter.

When they moved on, without warning, the screeching and roaring of Necormorphs filled their ears as an infector and three slashers burst from the ceiling and walls around them.

"Help!" Riok called out as a slasher grabbed his weapon and tried to disarm him. Dianos sprayed the slasher with rounds but the weapon jerked from Riok's hands, the loaded spear coming lose. The weapon hit the ground and Riok ducked a horizontal slash before dropping to his knees, grabbing the lose javelin and drove it home through the Necromorph's chest, shattering what little was left of its rib cage and inners, before pulling out and repeatedly stabbing the Necromorph in various places over his chest, lower body and legs. Riok finished by roaring and driving the javelin upwards through the Necromorph's head.

Next up with the infector, leaping through the air and grabbing onto Dianos' back before pulling back to strike.

In a sudden, time slowing, burst of adrenalin, Riok pulled out his plasma cutter and sent a hot horizontal line of plasma through the infector's proboscis. The infector, heavily wounded by the attack, was thrown to the ground over Dianos' head and it scuttled away before Dianos could finish it when a slashed grabbed Riok from behind.

Riok grabbed the arms of the Necromorph before they could cut him up, but the uncrushable resilience of the Necromorphs kept the slasher going against Riok's fairly strong, but weakening, arms. Riok struggled, but the blades of the slasher were in front of him so he couldn't escape.

Dianos aimed his pulse rifle and fired off a small burst into the Necromorph's left arm, severing it and sending some blood spewing from the stump that was left an allowing Riok to overpower the right arm, shove the Necromorph to the wall and start pounding its face in with his fist.

"Die!" Riok shouted, almost sounding a little bit too bloodthirsty, as he started to beat the Necromorph to death.

Dianos turned to face the last slasher, but instead met with the face of a leaper. Dianos screamed in terror as he was knocked to the ground, his weapon firing wildly as he went down.

A stray bullet hit the decompression window at the end of the corridor and the window shattered and was sucked out into the depths of space. Before anyone could really react, they were being pulled along the floor, the wounded slasher and leaper were discarded and fed to the void by the pair. Dianos grabbed a statue's leg while Riok was dragged down the corridor a bit before grabbing onto a different statue. The infector blew past from further up the hallway but clung Riok's leg and started trying to climbing him. Riok's shot had taken off most of the proboscis, but the infector seemed determined to still infect Riok.

Panicking, the waves of hot fear rushing around his body, Riok began kicking at the infector to keep it down, while Dianos shot at the door mechanism.

Dianos landed multiple hits, but the door wouldn't close. A second later a wall locker flew past him; it must have come off the wall at the other end of the corridor.

"Look out!" Dianos called out, but Riok was too distracted and looked up just in time to be hit by the locker.

Everything slowed nearly to a halt as Dianos watched his friend lose his grip and slowly slip towards the broken window. The infector was already ahead of him, after losing the fight, but Riok was falling almost like a ragdoll through the corridor until he passed through the broken window and the door slid closed.

Dianos lay there on the floor, breathing heavily as he realised his friend was now dead; Riok was knocked out, or worse, in a vacuum and Dianos physically couldn't get to him.

"RIOK!" Dianos cried, running to the decompression door and pounding on it while shouting into his radio for Riok to respond

"C'mon buddy, you're still alive! Talk to me!" He pleaded "You can't be dead! You got me this far!"

There was no response from the body slowly floating away into space; Riok was gone. Dianos leant against the door before slowly rolling over on it and sliding down it and pulling his legs in. He wanted to cry, but couldn't bring himself to, the tears were there but he didn't want to let them fall. Riok had meant so much to him, as a friend, and now he was dead and Dianos had nobody left to talk to.

Dianos had no idea how long he'd spent in the curled up position, eyes watering but refusing to cry, before eventually standing but drifting around by the door because he felt unable to leave.

Dianos eventually drifted out of the corridor of his friend's demise, his mind still clouded and heavy with sorry and regret as he blamed himself and headed for the basement before eventually finding the right door.

Dianos looked down into the yawing moth of the basement of the church; somewhere in there was the power conduit and its controls. Even without his best friend, Dianos had to push on for his own survival. Riok didn't deserve what he got, but the fact was that he got it anyway and Dianos was forced to accept that fact no matter how much he wanted to deny it or go out and find Riok.

Taking a breath, and saying a brief word for Riok, Dianos aimed his pulse rifle down the stairs and the darkness was forced away.

Slowly, cautiously, Dianos descended the stairs to the underground storage room. The room was small, cramped and oblong in shape; cryo coffins and the machines and tools used to maintain and prepare them stared at Dianos from all angles as they lurked in the darkness.

Dianos outstretched his hand and his blue locator suddenly came to life, lighting up a small area around him in a weak blue light and sending a blue line off deeper into the depths of the basement to show him where to go. He took a breath and brought one shaky leg to move and place his left foot in front of his right, quickly followed by his right, then his left and then his right again.

"This isn't so bad." The big Sangheili thought to himself, as he gained in spirit and confidence as he found he could place one foot in front of the other and move through the room with ease.

The air was no longer thick, the darkness was no longer so dark and the paralysing venom of fear was no longer so potent. For once since this terrifying ordeal started, Dianos felt ok, he felt strong and he felt in control; something he would hang onto with all his might until he was far far far away from this nightmare and everything associated with it.

When Dianos reached the controls he breathed a sigh of relief to find them still operational. He quickly started typing and rerouted the power from the church's tram system to the residential block next to the church.

The conduit hummed loudly and Dianos smiled, he may just get through this in one peace. The cold click of a talon on the stone floor caused him to freeze and look to his right.

"REEEEEEEAHHHHH!"

Everything went black only a moment after the Stalker stepped round the corner and charged before Dianos could defend himself.

Dianos groaned loudly as he came too, everything blurred and double as he looked around the room. The events in the church seemed like a distant memory and he had no idea where he was. Slowly, his vision returned to normal and he looked around. He was in one of the rooms in the church; everything in the room was totally wrecked other than the bed and several candles on shelves which lit the room. Dianos was on his back on the fairly soft bed and went to sit up.

WHAM!

Dianos was straight back down again and face to face with his captor.

The Stalker from the church.

The Stalker was a reptile of some sort, scales of faded blue covering its body, flattened ramming skull and bizarre mouth. The infection mustn't have spread too far or gotten too advanced because most of her body was covered by blue or thin, near colourless, scales opposed to just bare flesh, bone and muscle. How did he know it was female? He only had to look at her chest. Instead of the gaping, ripped open, chest of a developed Stalker this one had a pair of juicy, firm, breasts that 'complemented' what was left of her form. Her arms and legs were the most infected and had already developed to the level of a mature Stalker and were going through the change between scales and bare inners.

Dianos started to struggle, but the powerful hand on his chest kept him down. Before he knew what was going on, Dianos groaned.

He felt something, cool, long and slender wrap around his length and start to pump it up and down; his length slowly hardening in the touch as they worked him like a professional. Dianos chanced a looked down to see the Stalker's other hand pleasuring him. He then noticed that he'd been stripped off too.

Dianos cringed and the idea of sex with one of these and continued to struggle, she sped up her movements and Dianos' struggling soon died down again when she continued. Horribly, she continued at the quickened pace and Dianos could feel himself starting to enjoy the treatment.

"No!" He growled, trying to sit up and force her off. She retaliated by pushing him back down, roaring in his face and speeding up even more while pressing her fingers firmly into his most sensitive spots.

Dianos groaned loudly as he felt ropes of his seed shoot from his length all over her hand and his torso.

When she didn't stop Dianos held up his hands and asked her to, she hissed at him before pressing her thumb to the sensitive spot on the top of his length and rapidly making him climax all over the both of them again. He shuddered when he came for the second time in such rapid succession and she added more force to pinning him.

Realising what she was doing, Dianos went limp and let her have her way. She slowly slowed down before removing her hands from him and sitting looking down at him.

Dianos thought over the situation and his mind kept getting drawn back to her fingers, she'd been able to apply just the right amount of pressure in the right place to make him cum so hard he almost wanted more.

Smelling his lust, which was easy with her senses, The Stalker crawled back a step or two before lowering herself down. When Dianos saw what was happening, he couldn't help but feel aroused her breasts were lowered around his length and she pressed them around it.

Dianos gasped a little as he felt her smooth, warm, breasts around his length and then her fingers pressing them close to him before starting to titfuck him.

Not wanting to piss her off, for fear she'd make him into some sort of prisoner, Dianos just lay back and enjoyed the feeling of her breasts around his length as his body revelled in the pleasure and asked for more. Dianos looked down at her and came up with an idea; it would free him, piss her off, or arouse her even more. He reached down towards her, gaining a growl and speed increase from her before he gently took hold of her nipples and started to pull and pinch them a bit.

She squeaked in surprise before pushing his arms away and slowly letting him go back to lying down then starting up her titfuck again. Dianos was worried about retaliation so he pulled away when she didn't like what he was doing until her hand shot out and brought his back to her breasts.

She gently chirred as she rubbed and massaged his length with her breasts and he carefully teased her nipples. When they were both working well for each other's pleasure, Dianos keeping his climax at bay for now, The Stalker looked at his length with her bright orange eye before opening her mouth and taking everything outside her breasts into it.

Dianos yelped in fear as he braced for the feel of Necromorph mouth, but groaned loudly when he felt her cool mouth and the amount of saliva she coated his length in while licking and sucking on him. Soon enough, Dianos came again and she eagerly welcomed his seed into her mouth and swallowed it down with a murr of happiness. Once she'd cleaned him off, she crawled up the bed and lay her head gently on his chest before closing her eyes.

Dianos lay there with the Stalker's head resting on his chest as they gently breathed in and out, their warm breath going over his toned chest and feeling like a regular person's would; the warm breathing didn't feel right, it felt mechanical, a simple preserving action opposed to something showing calmness, happiness and relaxation.

He couldn't help but think of poor Riok, blown out into space while knocked out. Poor sod had come so far and they'd been through so much for Riok to be ended by a decompression door that failed to close, an infector and a locker that came loose from the wall. All Dianos had been able to do was watch as his friend met his end.

Sensing his discomfort, the Stalker got to her feet but stayed on all fours before turning her back to him so she was standing on her feet and hands while showing her ass to him.

Her ass seemed only lightly touched by the infection, retaining most of its firmness and colour. She pushed against his length so it was rubbing between her cheeks without actually being pressed in between them, and moved herself up and down so his length was rubbed up and down her rump until fully hard again. Once fully hard, She raised herself more in the air so her rear was above his length and she used one of her large hands to guide his member forwards to her lips, her long and cool fingers wrapping slowly around his length before taking control of it.

Dianos braced for what he'd feel, Necromorph nethers best not be as screwed up as the outside of their body. The Stalker slowly shifted their weight back in a sitting down motion and sat down on his length with a low chirr, as it penetrated and hilted inside her.

Dianos groaned as he felt her around his length; she felt much warmer than a living person, but was also much dryer so there was more friction as she sat on his length. She was in a frog like position with her legs bent and spread outwards, her feet on the ground, her arms straight, hands on the ground between his legs which were between her and ass in his lap with his length inside her slit. She looked back over her shoulder at him with another little chirr, before keeping her feet and hands on the floor but rising her rear up off his length until only his head was inside her and starting to give him reverse cowgirl; her ass slapping gently but audibly into his lap each time, her eyes darting between him and her ass on occasion as if to ask if he wanted to take hold of her. Caught up in the moment, and mostly not wanting to piss the creature off, Dianos' hands slowly rose and touched her firm cheeks.

She let out another chirr when his hands made contact and let him spread his hands out over her rump and rub it to his heart's content as she continued to ride his length. She reached back and took hold of one of his forearms, before removing it from her ass and then quickly slapping her ass with his hand before letting out a pleasured hiss; evidently she liked a good combination of hard and soft sex.

Dianos slapped her in a teasing way, gaining a soft growl of approval from her and making her slit feel slightly more lubricated and moist as she became more aroused. How she was this dry after what they'd done so far was a mystery to him, evidently Necromorphs didn't produce much sexual juice until later on in sex.

Dianos groaned a little as her nethers started to grip him tighter and she sped up her bouncing. Dianos put his head back against the cushions and slapped her ass again; once more she hissed and eagerly sped up. Dianos could feel his climax building inside him again as he let himself go and just accepted that the Necromorph pleasuring him was good at what she was doing.

Her hot, lightly moist, inners felt very strange compared to "Living" females who were often wet and not as warm as this; it was a unique feeling where the warmth increased his sensitivity and her lack of lubricant caused much more friction to make use of his extra sensitivity.

Letting the Stalker have her way with him, Dianos closed his eyes and idly spanked her from time to time until he tensed up, roared and is seed exploded into her. The Stalker threw her head back and screeched in both surprise and pleasure when his seed filled her.

The feeling of warmth and such moisture filling her was totally foreign to her new self; she'd never felt this wet before and her right hand crept down to her nethers to explore herself as both their juices mingled.

She pulled off him and stood up. She moved next to the bed and pressed her hands to the wall and pushed her rump towards him.

Again, not wanting to invoke the wrath of the Stalker, Dianos stood and followed her lead. When he didn't react, the Stalker took hold of his length, rubbing her fingers in his seed and working his length a little before guiding it to her rump and pushing it between her cheeks.

Dianos jumped a little and was surprised when it became clear she wanted him in her other hole too. Praying for everything to be ok, Dianos took hold of her waist and slowly pushed forwards to her ring of muscle which he teased with his tip before managing to push inside with a bit of force.

She breathed heavily a she teased her before letting out a little yelp when he entered followed by several orgasmic chirrs as he started to thrust into her and her muscles started to relax for him.

Her ass was even hotter than her nethers and Dianos felt like his length was in some sort of very pleasurable oven. Her tightness gripped every vein and part of his length in a hot and arousing way as he thrust and ground around inside her.

He groaned loudly as he bathed in the adorable feeling of her rump. The heat and tightness caressing him and bringing him very close to climax already.

She craved the feeling of him being this deep in her tightest of places, the friction of his barely lubed length in her hot tunnel sent we almost feral with lust as she ground back against him and growled for more.

Dianos kept wildly thrusting into her until her heat and tightness won him over and he cried out in pleasure as he hilted himself and gave her the most generous filling yet; he covered her walls with his stickiness and just a little burst out from her to give her a wonderful feeling between her cheeks as he pulled out.

Dianos, now tired after the session sat on the bed and only became aware of his surroundings when he was laid down on the bed and the Stalker crawled up next to him before placing one hand on his groin and the other on his chest. She closed her eyes and her breathing slowed as she went to sleep, Dianos closed his eyes to do the same.

It was strange that even here, in some form, some spark of life was still with these creatures.

After a little nap, Dianos slowly woke, he had no idea what time it was but he knew he had to leave his partner for his own good; hopefully she wouldn't take it too badly and wouldn't spend the rest of her life looking or waiting for him.

Dianos slowly picked up the arm from over his chest and placed it down before removing the other hand from his groin. Dianos slowly sat up and slipped off the bed, desperately trying not to alert the Stalker who was still happily asleep on the bed. He quickly pulled his suit back on and tiptoed out of the room; if he woke her, she may decide to have her way with him again. Dianos managed to escape her lair and breathed a sigh of relief as he stood at the top of a carpeted stairway. Dianos hurried down the stairs with his weapon levelled and reached the door at the bottom which was locked, the power node that powered the door on this side was screwed so he replaced it and the door opened. When the door slid shut behind him, leaving him in yet another typically set out church corridor, a surge of pain went through him. He looked down to see a fairly shallow gash on his right leg, it hurt to move quickly and was likely caused by the Stalker dragging him around. As he moved on, it only took him a moment to realise this was the corridor that Riok was last alive in.

Dianos limped along the corridor where Riok had perished, looking down at the last spot where his friend had been conscious. Just down the corridor a bit, caught on the leg on the next statue was the proboscis of the infector that had caused Riok to be distracted and unable to avoid the locker that sealed his fate.

Dianos shed a lone tear as he looked around the corridor and memories of him and Riok flashed back into his head. Dianos stayed there for a little while, before moving through into an office room and moving to the door opposite him.

A large, blanket like, object flew at him, pinning him down face up on the desk and roaring.

Dianos squirmed and yelled in fear as the leaper pulled its head back to chomp down on him, but a second roar came from behind him.

The draconic figure, his suit covered with blood, swung his arm in a wide ark upwards and plunged the javelin spear through the leaper's head and the force of the strike flipped the leaper off Dianos. In anger the draconic figure flipped the spear round in his hand, so he was holding it like an actually javelin, and slammed it down into the leaper to kill it.

The dragon put his hands on either side of Dianos and looked down at him.

"I got some KFC while I was out, most tasty." Riok said, smiling as he pulled the wrapper from his suit.

"Aww, you forgot my fish and chips." Dianos said, getting up.

"Unfortunately the Stalker behind the counter said that they didn't serve fish and chips." Riok said, deploying his helmet again. Dianos blushed a little under his helmet when Riok mentioned the stalker.

Riok reloaded his javelin launcher and stomped on the remains of the leaper, causing a small medkit to fall from what was once wherever the former person kept it.

Riok tossed the medkit to Dianos and told him to use it. Dianos quickly spread the gel over his wounded leg and a soothing and numbing sensation soon enveloped his wound; his rig also returning to its full green status when it was happy that his wound had been dealt with. Riok's rig was orange, showing he was wounded but being a dragon he refused to show signs of it where he could.

"I saw you get smashed out into space, how did you survive?" Dianos asked, looking over at his resurrected friend.

"Well...it's a long and lucky story." Riok replied with a smile.

One hour previously...

Riok slowly came to in space, his rig saying he only had seventy seconds of oxygen remaining, floating and listening to the complete silence which was only broken by his slow, laboured, breathing as his body started up again. When he was fully aware of what was happening, he found that he was actually listening to music but it was so quiet he'd only just noticed it.

Mad World, the instrumental version.

Riok smiled, remembering how Dianos loved that song due to some old games he'd found; Riok had also played the last one and loved it.

"I'm not dead yet." He breathed gently, still smiling as he remembered about all the good memories with Dianos.

When he realised just how little oxygen he had left, Riok swore and looked around for a way back inside. The only structure with power was the church in front of him and the deep chasm that the trains used under him.

Taking just another moment to bathe in the calmness of a zero G vacuum with the music playing, Riok twisted round and activated his propulsion jets to move down into the train chasm. The chasm was five rails deep which came up to the same level under the church and the platforms had a direct link to the church and to the actual station just outside the church.

He was standing on platform C with forty two seconds remaining. The platform itself was the same as many, a concrete rectangle with benches, bins and advertising boards in the middle for commuters to use and read. A blue train with a white stripe down the middle was stopped at platform E, its doors were open so he could see if they had emergency oxygen for a sudden medical emergency; it would use up most of his time, but it was his only real option. The dragon started to fret over his time, his palms starting to sweat as he bit his lip and gambled with his life.

Riok took to the air again and boosted his way over to the train, loving the speed at which he could move with such simple boosters built into his boots. Once inside the train he landed and looked around. Mercifully, there was an oxygen tank located between the little metal walls that separated the doors from the first seat; Riok snatched it up and resupplied his oxygen to one hundred and sixty seconds before taking a nice deep breath and moving on.

As he boosted his way around the zero G platforms Riok thanked whatever deity was watching over him and exited the station and out into the plaza. The door swiftly shut behind him to prevent the loss of atmosphere and his suit hissed as it changed back to its regular 1G and in atmosphere setting. Without that bottle of oxygen he'd found on the train, Riok would have been a floating corpse by now.

Around Riok was many ransacked shops, two escalators in front of him leading to and from the upper floor and many pools of blood and blood stains around the place; infectors must have picked the place clean due to the lack of bodies.

"Now to find Dianos." Riok mumbled, looking up to the top floor of the plaza and seeing the entrance to the church.

The present...

"And that's what happened to me." Riok said, smiling.

"What about the KFC?" Dianos asked.

"Stalkers don't make good employees, they're too eager to greet customers and take their orders plus they're horrendous at using a till." Riok joked, walking towards the exit of the room. "C'mon I know a shortcut to residential.

The pair, now both happy and confident that they were back together, made quick progress back to residential and got into a service lift that Riok had found. The doors slid closed and they were soon on their way to the roof. The back of the lift was glass and gave a perfect view down onto the two private space pads that had been used during the evacuation by two sister ships. One of the ships was wrecked and in unidentifiable chunks all over the pad with a few drifting away into the vastness of space. Dianos' expression dropped to one of sadness as he placed his hand on the glass and looked at the wreck.

"I'll show you they're fine when we get out of this ok." Riok said quietly, placing his hand on Dianos' shoulder causing him to glance back over his shoulder before looking at the husk again.

Dianos could remember the final conversation with his parents.

"We're on one of the ships at the private pads outside where we lived, get yourself and Riok here before they take off; stay safe an-" The audio call had ended abruptly to the sound of an explosion and static, the pair had even felt the explosion several areas away. Dianos had been distraught that his parents didn't respond to calls and that he couldn't get hold of them at all; Riok kept telling him that his parents were on the transport that escaped and were perfectly safe, he had no way of being sure and Dianos did try and counter by saying things like "What if somebody on the transport was infected?". Dianos' mind was set on the fact that his parents were gone, but Riok refused to let him accept that. As Dianos looked at the wreck he could almost feel something looking back at him, he didn't like it.

Out onto the roof, their suits switching to zero G and vacuum mode when they did.

"There it is!" Riok shouted, pointing at the silver rectangle which controlled the three satellite dishes on the roof. They ran over and the holographic projectors activated and created a screen on top of the device. Riok typed in a message and then spoke it so a signal would be send with the voice message and text message.

If anyone is receiving, we're two uninfected individuals that need extraction from the residential building north of the Unitologist church. Please, respond.

"Now we wait..." Riok replied, walking a few steps away from the device with his weapon held loosely in his arms before sitting down on the ground and looking out over the city.

The spires and towers of the city were still illuminated and many rooms still had windows that were lit up from lights inside. Nobody would have ever thought that such a quaint place would be struck down by such a dark fate. Dianos came and sat down by Riok and held out his right hand.

Riok looked at him before grabbing his hand like they were going to have an arm wrestle.

"We'll be rescued, just you wait." Dianos said, looking at Riok, who slowly and unsurely nodded before breaking the grip and resting his arms on his knees before looking back out over the city. Slowly, a darkness crept over pair and Riok closed his eyes sleepily.
