This story is the second chapter to the series of "Changing for the better". Hope you guess enjoy reading this as much as I like writing them. As always I like to have critiques for this if at all possable. I'm still unsure of my writing so anything would help also add comments as well.

Oh, as a side note. I origenaly had this same story up for about 24 hours and had to take it down for major changes to the plot and the storyline. It is now much longer then origenally intended. Sorry to the staff of Yiffstar that read my other one and was about to post it, but as you can see I did it on purpose to make it better.

Sorry, for all the rambling, now on with the story:

Changing for the Better - The Unlucky Meeting

Daniel stepped into the front doors of the school with Trever by his side. He smiled lightly as he caught site of another one of his friends sitting on one of the benches reading next to the stairs. She was a Dalmatian and a rather pretty one at that, but he didn't find her to be more then just a friend. He walked over to her sat down, "Hey Christina."

She looked over her book at the other canine sitting next to her with a bit of a smile on her face. She put the book down to her lap, "Hey Daniel..." She looked over to the lion, "Hey Trever, how was both of your summers?"

Trever looked to Daniel deciding to go first in answering the question. He moved over to a wall and leaned his back to it and then shrugged putting his hands into his pockets, "It was boring as hell for me, never did like the summer." He laughed a bit as he looked from one canine to the other. "...but then again, I really don't like school either, so what can I do?"

Christina giggled slightly at that as he turned and faced Daniel, "...And how about you Wolfy?" She smiled at him a bit more and closed her book putting it to the side of her along with her backpack. She had a bit of crush on him sense she saw him in their freshman year. She just hasn't gotten the courage to actually come out and say it yet.

He shrugged and laughed slightly, "It's the same as always, but been thinking over what I'm going to do when I get out of high school though."

The Dalmatian tilted her head to the side and cocked a brow, "Really, what do you have in mind?"

"I was planning to be an Architect after I graduate. That's probably why I'm taking something like that when I'm here, to get some extra practice for the real thing." He smiled a bit wider as he thought about it more averting his gaze to somewhere else.

Christina chuckled and nodded as the bell rang singling that they had to go to homeroom to get there class schedules and packets for the upcoming year. "Oh, almost forgot to ask you..." She looked at both boys, "You did receive you homeroom information in the mail right?"

Trever looked over to her and nodded taking out his paw from his pocket revealing the paperwork that was from the mail. He returned it back to his pocket and looked at Danial to see if he had his.

Daniel nodded and swung his backpack over from his back to his lap and searched the front pockets. He smiled as he took out the same paper that the lion just showed. He then put it back into the pocket and zipped it up, "...And if I didn't bring it, I would have remembered where to go anyway, it's not that difficult."

Trever rolled his eyes as he got off the wall, "Smart ass..."

The wolf turned and glared over towards the lion, "Whats that supposed to mean..."

The lion just shook his head, "It's nothing, forget it." He started to walk off down the hall towards his homeroom.

"Remind me why I'm friends with him?"

Christina shook her head and looked at Daniel putting out a paw for him to take, "I don't know." She thought a minute on that question looking up to the ceiling. She then looked back down to the wolf and shrugged. "Luck?"

He chuckled taking her paw and stood up, "Yeah, maybe." He then shrugged as well taking his paw away from her as he got to his feet. "Well, I'll see you at lunch then."

The Dalmatian nodded and blushed slightly as she looked away in a hurry to get her things, "Yeah, at lunch..." She draped her backpack over her shoulder and took off in the other direction towards her homeroom. She was to embarrassed to look at the wolf going another deeper crimson as she thought about his paw in hers.

Daniel watched her go and sighed slightly putting a paw on the back of his head and rubbing it. He then looked down and closed his eyes, "I know what you feel Christina, but quite frankly I'm just not interested." He opened his eyes again as he took one last look to where the Dalmatian made her disappearance and then made his way up the stairs towards his homeroom.

Adrian found himself drifting off into a his fantasy about him and the wolf again as he neared the entrance to the school. He, however, was cut off from his thinking as he heard his name being called from in back of him. He turned around as he had his paw on the handle of the door just about to go inside and saw one of his friends come running up towards him with a smile on his face.

"Hey Adrian, I'm glad to see you came back after what happened last year," He was an odder in the foxes same year and were the best of friends since the beginning of Sophomore year. When he saw Adrian for the first time in the same homeroom, they talked and became fast friends. Later on, they found out that they had pretty much the same classes for the year and also lunch as well. He even new that the fox was gay after a couple of months of getting to know him, though it took him forever to actually get it out of him. He was rather shy about it.

The fox smiled lightly and nodded still kind of in that dream like state, "Hey Bryan, yeah I know what you mean, but that was last year."

Bryan shrugged, "Yeah, but it doesn't mean that he won't do it again to you this year. I mean you are..." He whispered the last word going into the foxes year, "gay."

Adrian blushed and put his ears back defensively looking around himself in case anybody heard the odder whisper. Thankfully, to him, that nobody was listening doing their own thing before school started. He then looked back to the odder and perked himself up a bit and nodded. "Yeah that's true, I guess i got to be a bit more careful this time on what I let slip, because the lion found out when I told you in the lunch room."

The odder looked down and shuffled his feet, "Yeah and I'm sorry I made you you tell me there. I could have waited when you would have told me at your house, but I wanted to know right then and there, because I always catch you looking at one certain black wolf that has always crossed your path last year."

The fox nodded slowly to what the odder was saying as he averted his eyes from him and to the ground in thought. His eyes then got big as he remembered and looked up to Bryan, "Wait, the lion, isn't he that wolf's friend?" He was now getting scared.

Bryan then looked up to the fox and saw how scared he was getting just thinking about it. He then shrugged and shook his head. "I have no idea if that lion is his friend your not. Why do you ask that though?" He tilted his head as he watched his friend.

At that moment the bell rang for them to go to their homeroom. Adrian looked up to the bell and sighed a bit and then looked down to the otter. He didn't really notice that he still had his paw on the door while they were talking. He looked down to it and laughed as he opened the door up for the otter, "I'll tell you in home room, just be sure and sit next to me were going to be bored for the next half an hour anyway."

The otter smiled and nodded as he entered the open door the fox was holding for him, "Okay, it's a plan then." He smiled at the canine.

Adrian blushed lightly and started to walk with his friend towards their home room class. He couldn't help but look around himself at all the new things. Posters saying 'welcome back' were hung up along the walls and the helpless looks on freshman's faces always gave him the giggles. Even when he was a sophomore and his first year here. He really had no trouble in finding his classes, but then again he did have some help from the otter next to him as well.

Bryan was looking around himself as well just taking everything in. It was a new year, and in every new year, comes new experiences. He walked along side the fox as they came to the door to their home room. He stepped up and opened the door for Adrian and a couple other furs who needed to be in that specific room.

The fox smiled as he saw the otter hold the door for him. He entered and looked around the room. The furs that were there were just speaking among themselves about what they did over summer to there returning friends. The teacher that was in charge was writing 'welcome back students' on the white board. Adrian saw two open seats right next to each other in the back. He walked over to them as the otter followed putting his stuff down and took a seat.

The otter took the seat right next to the fox putting his stuff down as well. The second bell rang signaling that home room had started. The teacher turned from the board and smiled a comforting smile to the rest of the students. "Hello, my name is Mrs. Pearson, please have a seat and we'll get started with attendance and getting you guys ready for the year. After we are done with getting your schedules and information out, you are free to socialize until the end of home room." She walked over to her desk and sat down taking up the attendance chart as she started to call off names. The otter watched the teacher and though to himself, "Thank god, didn't think she would actually let us."

After the attendance was called and all the rules on guidelines where discussed for the upcoming year. Adrian and Bryan then receive their schedule and other important so they can sign and return them. They had about ten more minutes left until the end of home room as Bryan turned to the fox, "So, what were you going to tell me earlier when the bell rang?"

Adrian looked at the otter and thought about what he asked and remembered, "Oh, umm, I thought I saw that same lion that beat me up last year talking to the same wolf..." He blushed slightly through his fur and leaned in so that only Bryan could hear. "...that I was eyeballing last year and have a crush on."

Bryan watched the fox and pondered on what to say about that little information, "I don't remember seeing a black wolf there when you where getter beat up."

"Yeah..." He returned to his normal position in his seat. "He was absent on that day. The reason why I know is because he wasn't there in the class I had him in."

"Well, if he was there, do you think he would have done something about it?"

"I don't know, that's just it. If he has friends that beat up on someone like me. Then that means that he would be the same way right?" Adrian looked to the otter and was now more scared then ever.

Bryan shook his head, "To tell you the truth Adrian, I don't know how to answer that question. Personally, I don't even know the wolf that you speak of."

Adrian put his head in his paws, "Of course you don't, but how am I going to do this. I can't stop thinking about him."

The otter bit his bottom lip and sighed, "I guess the best thing to do now is just wait and take it easy. Try not to think about it to much for now. Whatever happens, happens. As for the lion being his friend? He probably is, but that doesn't mean that they think a like." The bell rang for first period as he got finished. The otter stood up and grabbed his backpack and through it around his shoulder. He walked up and put a paw on the foxes shoulder, "Just think about it."

The fox looked up at Bryan and smiled. The otter always new what to say to make things a bit better of him. He nodded and stood up grabbing his backpack and puts it over his shoulder. "thanks, I will."

They both walked out of the classroom together while looking to see where there going next.

Bryan frowned slightly, "It looks like I have physics first period this year."

Adrian looked over the otters shoulder to his schedule and then down his own, "Yeah, i have math first this year, but look, it seems that we have three periods with each other." He looked back over to Bryan's paper. "Umm, third, fifth, and sixth period to be precise and it looks like we have lunch together as well."

The otter laughed and nodded, "That's always nice to hear that we have classes together and lunch. As of now, I need to get to physics. See you later." He turned into another hall entirely.

"Yeah, see you." He smiled to himself and continued to his own class.

Daniel came out of the classroom he went to for home room after the bell rang looking at his schedule. "Lets see..." He looked it over and was happy at what he saw. "Perfect, all the classes I wanted for this year including weight training in my sixth period class." He fold the paper and place it in his pocket for future reference as he memorized the room number to his next period.

The black canine walked along the halls and looked around himself. He placed his paws into his pockets as he watched all the students trying to get to their classes on time. He smiled slightly to himself seeing the confused faces of the freshman seeming to be completely lost and scared. He then remembered back to when he was a freshman and he was exactly the same as them, not knowing where to go and acted so completely helpless. He shook his head and snickered at the thought.

He came to his first period class with about a minute to spare as he sat down in one of the seats in the first row. He placed his backpack down to the side of him and looked up to the white board. It said 'Welcome students' and under it was also written 'to world literature'. the wolf chuckled to himself slightly and shook his head thinking. "An English course, this shouldn't be to difficult." He got out a pencil and a notebook just in case.

The teacher stood up as the bell rang and the class quieted down almost instantly when he did. He was a rather old wolf in his mid-fifties, had spectacles, and was pure white of what Daniel could see. "Good morning class, my name is Mr.Thompson, and I'm going to be your English teacher for the year. Now, I know that you guys are seniors and are ready to be done with school, but there's still some things to cover before you actually go out into the real world." He went over to one of the doors and switched off the lights. He then returned to a projector in the middle of the room and switched it on. "What I want you to do for me today is just take notes on the rules and guidelines of what we are expecting of you this year."

Daniel sighed slightly to himself as he started to take down notes that the teacher was giving them. This took all class period hearing him talk about the rules and regulations. in fact, the first half of the day was just like this, taking notes and listen to the teacher talk until the end of the period.

It was finally time for lunch as the bell rang for the end of third period. He packed up all the things he was using and slipped the backpack over his shoulder. He followed a couple including his friend Christina which had the same class with him that period. He followed her out and walked with her to the cafeteria, "So, have you heard from Trever at all today? Does he have any of your classes?"

Christina looked to the wolf and shook her head, "No, I haven't seen or heard from him except this morning."

Daniel crossed his arms over his chest, "Hmm, well that's a bit odd, even for him, I wonder whats up? Normally I would see him in the halls."

They were near the cafeteria when they heard a loud crash coming from the locker area and high pierced yelp straight after it. both canines looked at each other with wide eyes and started to run towards the sound. There were already dozens of furs around an area as a sound of a punch hit a fur straight in the muzzle. "How does it feel fag to be the center of attention for today..." This voice came from a fur Daniel and Christina new to well as they pushed through the crowd. As they got there the lion struck the whimper fox hard in the muzzle a second time giving the fox a bloody nose.

"Trever, what the hell are you doing?" The wolf stood there stunned looking between the lion and the fox he was holding.

Adrian walked into his first period math class taking a seat in one of the desks in the center of the room. He placed his backpack down and unzipped it getting the supplies he needed. He then looked around himself and watched as other students started to file in through the door. He then averted his gaze and looked at the white bored and noticed that there was a couple easy problems. The teacher must have already put them up there for the start of class warm-ups.

The bell rang after a few more minutes and the teacher stood up from her desk in the back and started to walk up to great the class in the front. She was a brown and black middle-aged raccoon. "Welcome back, hope you guys had a nice summer without any learning."

The class quited down as the raccoon talked and gave an absentminded nod to her question.

"Well, it's always nice to see new students every year," She looked around the classroom at every face face there and then nodded to herself. "I hope I can help you with anything you questions on. Now, if you would kindly do the warm-up problems on the board while I take attendance." She walked back to her desk and started roll call.

Adrian quickly finished the warm-up problems with no problem. The teacher was now done with attendance as she was now selecting people to go up to the white board to show off how to do the warm-up problems. The fox was one of the ones who raised his hand to go up. When it came to math, he wasn't scared to show off what he could do. He was always gifted with numbers.

He finished the problem a he looked at the teacher. She looked over his work and smiled at him, "Now that's what I call a problem solver. That was one of the hardest warm-up questions that I have always gave the students to see if they could solve it or not and you solved it like it was the easiest problem in the world. You can sit down now, I know were you stand my boy." She smiled at him as he blushed slightly and returned to his seat getting a bit of snickers from the rest of the class. He didn't care though, he was was happy to do it.

The rest of this class and the next class went by without any problem for the fox. All he really did in his second period class was take notes on rules and guidelines. He found that to be okay, but he couldn't help to feel bored, because he heard it dozens of times already.

Adrien entered his third period class and saw Bryan sitting in one of the back seats. He smiled slightly as he made his way back to him sitting in the empty seat in front of the otter. He placed his backpack down to the side of him as he turned in his seat to look at his friend, "Hey Bryan, how where your first two periods."

Bryan smiled and shrugged, "They where fine, a lot of notes and lectures with the teachers though, boring as hell." He chuckled a bit, "How about you?"

"Yeah, pretty much the same, but I got a huge complement from my math teacher. She said I solved one of the hardest questions she gave. I felt a little special at that moment." The fox laughed slightly.

The otter laughed as well and nodded.

The bell rang at that moment as the teacher stood and started to introduce himself. He was a middle aged Lion and he looked really animated as he walked up and down the roads now just talking about what he did before he was a teacher and about what he would do whenever he found something else to do with his life. He was one of those teachers who loved to talk not just about themselves but about everything around him. Adrian can tell that he is not going to learn anything in this class.

Before long they where now whiting notes on the rules and guidelines of the class just as they would do in the rest of the classes because of the first day. What made this class go by extra slow was the fact that he would go on these sometimes long tangents that would seem years would go by before they were back on track again.

Adrian sighed as he stepped out of the door to of that classroom head off to the cafeteria with the otter at his side. "Man, that was a pain in the ass..."

Bryan rolled his eyes and nodded in agreement. "Yeah, that class is going to be hell, you gotta love history..." He said as an after thought being sarcastic.

The both of them were almost to the cafeteria when they both heard a voice speak from behind them, "Well well well, if it isn't the fagot couple."

The fox stopped as he looked to the back of him to see the lion with his back up against the lockers with his arms crossed over his chest. He was looking straight at them along with other passing by furs. He automatically put his tail in between his legs and his ears down defensively as he heard the lion speak to them, him mostly.

The otter looked around the same time the fox did and got wide eyed and thought, "Shit, bad timing for the two of us." He then looked to the fox and saw him react in a way that he only saw him react when he was scared or nervous. He leaned down and whispered into the foxes ear, "I'm going to go get the dean, please hold off until I do. I don't think this is going to end well." With that he started to walk fast down the hall and out of sight.

The fox nodded thinking that it was a good idea at least for that minute he did. He watched the lion not moving to scared to do anything.

The lion smirked and chuckled as he started to walk over to the scared fox, "Hmm, I wonder where your friend is going." He stopped at the fox and looked down at him, "It doesn't matter to me at the moment."

"Please, just leave me alone... I don't want any trouble." Adrian tried pleading for his life knowing that that action never worked.

Trever just laughed and grabbed the collar of the foxes shirt and left him a couple inches off the ground." I don't think so..." Everyone in the hall was watching them now.

Adrian put his paws to the lions in his grasp and whimpered, "Please, let me go..."

The lion slammed the fox into the locker causing him to yelp in pain as he closed his eyes and waited for whatever would come his way. He felt a punch land hard on the right side of his muzzle.

"How does it feel fag to be the center of attention for today..." There came another punch this time it hitting him more in the nose causing it to bleed.

"Trever, what the hell are you doing?" The fox twitched his ears a little as he looked over to see the carrier of the voice. He gasped lightly seeing the black wolf before him he had dreams about. He also saw a rather pretty Dalmatian at his side presumably another one of his friends. He was rather glad they where here as he started to laugh to himself on the inside.

The lion looked back towards the wolf with a smirk, "What does it looked like I'm doing." He looked back to the fox and landed a hard blow into the stomach making the fox yelp taking the air out of him, "Why don't you come up here and join me?"

Christina yelped as well and turned her head to the side closing her eyes as the blow made contact, "Damn it, Trever stop..." She looked over to Daniel with tears almost in her eyes, "Daniel, do something..."

Daniel grasped his fists and walked over to the the feline, "Because I'm not a bastard like you are."

Trever laughed and looked to the wolf that was right behind him letting the fox go, "Oh, now we result into name calling." He turned completely around and without warning the lion punched the wolf in the muzzle causing him to fall onto the ground in a heap, "That was for being a smart ass this morning."

Christina yelped and went to the wolf''s side, "Daniel, are you okay?"

Daniel sat up and rubbed the spot on where the lion punch him, "Yeah, I'll be fine." He got up, "Stand back, I don't want you to get hurt." He watched the the lion closely.

The fox was still gasping for breath and had his eyes closed, but he heard everything that was going on around him. He was still quite happy though he had no way of showing it right now.

The Dalmatians eyes went wide, "Daniel, you can't be serious?"

The wolf nodded, "Someone has to teach him a lesson and it can't be from a teacher."

Trever smirked and watched the wolf carefully, "I knew you where something when I first saw you, but now, defending a fagot, how low that you actually are." He gave another fast punch to the head.

Daniel ducked, "What the hell is that supposed to mean," He said as gave a right uppercut into the chin of the feline sending him into the lockers behind him and onto the ground. He stood up and walked over to him watching him on the ground his eyes narrowed.

The lion smirked as he rubbed his chin and looked up to the opposing wolf and started to stand up, "Not bad for a fagot."

Christina tilted her head as he heard the lion. She raised an eyebrow and her eyes narrowed slightly listen now intently.

The black wolf narrowed his eyes some more and grabbed the collar of the lion's shirt and slammed him into the lockers just like he did to the fox. "What did you call me?" He growled through his teeth.

Trever laughed and smirked more, "I called you a fagot, I new from the first time I saw you that you where gay. Though you never said it, but I new."

Daniel sighed as he looked down and thought a moment and then nodded, "Yeah, your right, I am gay, but whats a bastard like you going to do about it?"

Adrian gasping finally went down as he opened his eyes and looked up. He saw the wolf pinning the lion into the lockers with just his paw and his body weight. Man did that wolf look strong and sexy in his eyes. He then started to cough as the blow t his stomach didn't really help him any. He leaned up onto the lockers still in sitting position coughing into his paw. He coughed up small amounts of blood as he thought to himself, "Oh shit..."

Christina shook her head in disbelief as she heard the words coming out of the wolf's mouth and thought, "No way, he can't be. That means I fell for a guy who isn't even interested in females. Damn, it looks like I have to talk to him about this later." She sighed as she heard the fox over by the locker starting to cough uncontrollably. She gasped as she looked over to him. She hurried to his side and leaned down. "Are you okay?"

The fox looked up to her and nodded as he coughed out more blood.

The Damnation gasped and bit her lip as she saw the blood. She shook her head, "No your not, damn..."

Just then there was a loud whistle that sounded through the halls that quieted everybody down from the chanting of the word 'fight'. The dean was walking up to where the fight was taking place as the the crowed let her through along with the nurse and Bryan at her side.

Bryan looked over to the fox and the Damnation on the floor as he gasped and rushed over to their side. "Are you okay...?"

The fox was about to answer but Christina cut him off putting a hand on the foxes shoulder. She then looked to the otter and shook her head. "He's coughing up blood, he needs medical attention."

At that moment the nurse came over and examined him. She bit her bottom lip and turned to the Dalmatian and the otter, "Can you help me get him to the my office I think I can help him as best as I can."

The dean looked at the nurse for a minute and then turned to all the students and shouted so that all of them could hear, "All of you return to lunch or your respective classes. This will be handled without your presence." The dean looked to the the four that were by the locker, "Except you two." She was referring to the wolf and the lion.

As the crowed slowly started to disappear the two furs helped hoist up Adrian between them and car fully carried him towards the nurses office. The Nurse was following close behind them making sure the fox was okay.

At that moment Daniel let the lion go as he stepped back and faced the three adults that were standing there. He then sighed and lowered his head to putting his ears back defensively and put his tail in between his legs at the stare of all of them. He had no words to express what just happened so he kept his mouth shut.

Trever, on the other hand, smirked as he saw saw the wolf cringe in fear from the adults. His expression totally changed as he looked at the adults himself and he noticed that he was given an even deadlier stare from them. He then looked down knowing full well how deep in trouble he was.

The dean crossed her arms and looked at the two of them shaking her head angrily, "After all my years of being at this school, this was the first time I've ever seen a fight on the very first day. You two must be ashamed of yourselves"

Daniel whimpered slightly as he looked to the ground still with nothing to say.
