I'm back after a couple of weeks of writing this chapter and I got a little side tracked sadly. :(

High-School can do that to you sometimes; that and my friend got me into role-playing at the wrong time at the wrong place. On the bright side: expect to see another furry-fic from me in the near future!! :)

Anyway this is Chapter 2 where Rock finally meets the mysterious creature; hope you guys aren't as surprised as my friend was when I told her.

Enjoy my friends!!

In a life, there are the ones you want to stay away from and then there are the ones you want to be around; surprisingly the Creature: the one who fought belligerently against the Seviper, the one who left the evil serpent eyeless, was something I wanted to be around.

Never in my life have I ever felt so grateful for any being on this Earth; not my Father, not my Grandpa, not even God could even the odds for my gratitude. Well, God would hands down; Grandpa: he would live try to live up to it; my Father; that's like teaching a Magikarp how to fetch: it'll flop around, spewing nothing but nonsense in the end.

I wanted to kiss the ground it walked on but I couldn't; I just stood there, mouth agape & everything. Not a single word came out of either mouth; we just stood there, its ruby gems at my cerulean pools. I felt the same thing in those eyes: youth & innocence, something at the time I could compare myself to. I knew any Pokémon would stand emotionless to any creature that poses a threat but I didn't know what this creature was to begin with. I didn't know if it was a Human, a Pokémon or even an Anthro. I threw that thought away instantly. Mama always told me that Feral Anthros that live in the United States must live away from people so that they & also we can be protected by The Government; I didn't know why at all though but I needed to know who this creature was & why it saved me.

"I..I," my mouth softly blurted out. I took a tiny step forward; wrong move. The Creature took off through the trees & there was no way in a Psyduck's headache that I was letting it escape my gratitude.

I sifted through the trees, catching up to where I'm barely in pursuit of my gratifier. I began to notice that the Creature looked...feminine & human like, with a long, furry tail. That explained everything; it was an Anthro, which only led to skepticism on my part. I remember Father always saying to us: "Those damn Feral-Heads are nowhere near Cottonfield & they never will be. Cottonfield is a place where sophisticated people, Furries or not, can live in peace."

He was right about the first one & he was wrong about the other thing. Cottonfield was far from sophisticated. Cottonfield was one of the most segregated towns in Georgia with only one philosophy: Humans first, Anthro's second. Some of the humans were basically blue-collared; some who were colored were middle to lower class but all the Anthro's: lower class all the way. The blue-collared humans were the common example of being a self-centered snob; they are not open-minded about many things, especially about Religion & Furries. With religion, they will be a little more tolerant about different forms of Christianity but if it's Judaism or Islam, they will say what's on their minds without hearing what they think about it.

The Georgia fog began to envelope my eyes along with the forest; I knew I didn't have much time left. While I was running, I checked my watch, which said 10:15 PM. Time was running out & I had to catch my gratifier; it felt like you were shaking hands with an Octillery with only one hand that couldn't shake all of his tentacles at once but if you shake each one at a time, you'll find an end to shaking hands.

The Creature tripped into a small clearing, still enveloped by the small but dense fog but visible to see its silhouette. As I made it to the clearing, the Creature was about to escape into the forest, away from my gratitude; that's when I found the last tentacle.

"Wait!" My voice ranged out. "I not afraid of you; I just want to thank you!!"

The Creature, still covered in the thick brushy forest, stopped in its tracks. Its silhouette turned to face me; its ruby eyes were filled with both concern & confusion. Finally after a tense minute that a Pikachu couldn't zap out of, it spoke in a soft, gentle voice: "Are you sure you are not afraid of me?" Its concerned eyes blinked.

At first I couldn't believe that it finally stopped just at my words & I was taking a total shot in the dark. I regained my cool but still unsure what to say next. Then I remembered what caused me to come out into the forest in the first place that would've leaded me to where I was at that moment. I took a deep breath and calmly said: "You'll never know unless you find out."

The Creature tensed through the trees and after ten seconds of hesitation, the Creature stepped into the clearing as the fog began to give way to its existence. At that moment, I finally found out what an Angel looks like.

Much to my skepticism, she was an Anthro, but unlike any Anthro I have ever seen in my life. She had snowy white fur that shined in the fog; tomato-red hair, a red zigzagged line on her chest, a pair of white & red pointy ears, that long, bushy tail & those ruby red eyes that sent a pleasurable chill down my spine. My thoughts were blown away at what she was; she was a Zangoose and Zangoose were definitely rare here in Georgia, let alone The Southeastern United States for that matter. Zangoose were known to be notoriously known around here in these parts as folklore to persuade little kids into being good; it never works on me. They, along with their blood rival Seviper, where brought here from Australia during the American Revolution; the Brits thought that if they sent the two into the Colonies, they would pick off the colonists one by one; boy were they wrong. Not only did they kill each other, the colonists trained them to fight against their own benefactors. Soon The Zangoose began to die off during The Battle of Valley Forge; that's when General Washington decided to use the Anthros to his advantage, which helped us win the war. After that, Zangoose began to move westward on but some took a fancy to some soldiers & the two created a new but rare type of Anthro.

That new type of Anthro was a Zangoose Anthro but this Anthro was not like the ones on Television, they were Feral-Anthros; living in the environments of their Pokémon brethren. Most were known to be real eye-candy but this one was basically as old as me: 5 years old & counting. She wasn't wearing any clothes but she didn't need them; she was a five year old covered in fur so there's nothing to hide. Even so, I was lucky I wasn't drooling like a Snorlax at a Kentucky Fried Chicken.

She looked at me worriedly, her right arm timidly around her left one with tail swaying nervously. "Now are you afraid of me?" She asked in her soft voice.

I eyed her, softly that is. If I said yes than I would've been a complete liar. And I'm never a liar when the truth is in my eyes. I shook my head at her response. "No I'm not," I said straightforwardly, "And I was never afraid."

She eyed me cautiously, trying to find any resource within my eyes to use against me; anything that said I was a liar, that I was greedy like a Mewoth at a bank. The stares between us were engaged in a more communicative way.

Are you? She glared.

My eyes never blinked for a second. No I am not, I glared honestly.

She began to relax, beginning to realize that I wasn't afraid of her; that I could be trusted. That's when I said: "You know, for a second there I thought you were going to eat me; if you do, I'll give you a bellyache."

She let out a childish giggle, sporting a toothy smile; I smiled back in return. The Anthro looked at me, her red eyes deep with fascination. "You know, I've never been close to a human like you before that didn't run away when they look at me."

My smile gleamed with pride. "My Mama says I'm 'one of a kind.'"

She giggled again & looked at me, her tail moving to a light rhythm. Just by looking into her eyes told me that she wasn't like other girls; most of the girls here in Cottenfield were bubbly with the whole Southern Belle persona wrapped around their minds. This girl; however, she looked like she could beat you in an arm-wrestling match while having some ice-cream in the other hand.

She gave a goofy smile before speaking. "You definitely are different," She said with a tomboyish accent. "What's your name?"

I thought about saying my whole name, but I figured that it would be confusing. "My name is Rock," I told her. "What's your name?"

Her eyes remained eccentric. "My name is Snow."

"It's nice to meet you Snow." I held out my left hand as to shake hers; all she did was look at me like a Mr. Mime at Cirque du Solei show. "You're supposed to shake my hand," I explained, "It's how we humans greet people we first meet."

"Oh," she mouthed with realization. She raised her left human-like paw & combined it with mine; I shook her hand gingerly. I was really fascinated by this creature, especially her name. "I like your name," my big mouth blurted out before I could cover it. She eyed my confusedly, which cause me to studder like a Ludicolo at Ballet lessons; at least I wasn't falling over every five seconds. "I...I main it goes well with your fur and..." She pounced on me before I could even continue. I was basically the helpless prey to a witty predator on top of me. Her eyes sparkled playfully. "I like your name too; humans tend to have weird names on occasions." I scratched the back of my head embarrassingly as she continued: "You want to know something else?"

I raised an eyebrow. "What?" I asked.

She came closer, her feral-feminine, playful face sporting a sly smile. As her ruby eyes looked into mine, she poked one of her claws on my chest softly; she giggled cheerfully. "Tag, you're it!"

She jumped off of me & ran to the other side of the clearing. I jumped up quickly. "You're in for it now!" I shouted at her.

She stuck her tongue at me teasingly. "Why don't you prove it to me 'human'?" She said 'human' in an edgy but playful way.

My eyes gleamed in her playful manner. "I will," I replied back. I began to chase her around, determined to tag her back. We played like that for half the night, tagging me than tagging her until we had a continuous pattern that didn't detract from the fun. After that, we lied next to each other; both of us fresh out of air. I checked my watch & it was 10:50 PM; my eyes widened larger than a Hoothoot. I turned to Snow. "I have to go home."

She frowned at me; it was clear that she didn't want me to leave so soon but she nodded understandably. "I wish you could stay for a little while longer."

I stood up slowly, showing that I also didn't want to leave, having to deal with my family; mainly my Father & Konrad, was something I would gladly sacrifice for a piece of that pie. That's when I realized something. "I can come back every night and we can play tag, just like we did tonight."

Her eyes shined brightly at the thought. She stood up to face me. "Do you promise Rock?" She held out her pinky claw as if a pinky promise was to be made.

The pinky promise was completed when I combined hers with mine. "I promise."

That night was the beginning to a beautiful friendship.

Okay that is chapter 2; I hope you all weren't as shocked as I thought you'd be. Either way, Rock's best friend is an Anthropormorphic Zangoose named Snow & she becomes important for Rock in the next chapter. Not revealing any information in the next on but I will give a little spoiler: It is an important day for many of America's integrity; enough said to that.

Hope you liked it; Later!! :)
