Rachel

Rachel and Gina moved through the halls with the glee of a new challenge for about the first hour of their hunt. After some time, though, they got bored and began to wonder if this whole scavenger hunt was worth all of the effort they were putting into it.

"So... twenty-four girls, that's eight teams?" Gina asked and her companion nodded. "And we're the only one with two people. I wonder if that's going to give us some sort of point bonus."

"Who knows?" Rachel muttered as she looked up at an enormous fake spider which dangled from the ceiling. "Heads up," she muttered and Gina looked up, flinched, then growled with annoyance.

"This is really lame."

"I know."

"You think they'd have better traps in a house like this," Gina lamented. "I wanna go home."

Rachel nodded in agreement, but then she saw Cindy pass through the corridor they were approaching. "How about we swirly Cindy?" she said in a lower voice. Gina looked forward and then nodded eagerly.

Though they walked in heels, both girls were adept at moving in them while keeping the click-clack click-clack to a minimum. Rachel was having a difficult time not yelling at Gina who was obviously on the threshold of bursting out laughing. Though Gina was a fine partner in crime, Rachel was beginning to wonder is her short friendship with this obviously less intelligent girl was worth it. As they rounded a few corners and almost jumped out of their skin at the sight of a particularly frightening statue of some demon thing. Once Rachel looked into the room for Cindy, however, they came up empty.

"Damn it," Rachel cursed, "she must have seen us."

"Fine," Gina said as she suddenly abandoned stealth, to Rachel's annoyance. "Cindy," she called, "Cindy, where are you, dear? We were hoping you could show us where the bathroom is."

"Gina," Rachel growled without amusement.

"Behind you," Cindy's voice said from the opposite end of the room, "second door on the left."

"Oh, thanks," Gina said with a blink of surprise.

"Care to come with us?" Rachel asked as she watched Gina fall silent.

"No thank you," Cindy said as she read a book. Rachel could see now that Cindy appeared so engrossed in whatever she was reading that she guessed they could begin to converse about anal sex and the waifish little girl would likely nod and say, "yes interesting," without ever paying attention.

The two predatory girls exchanged looks, then smiled as they approached, a plan forming in Rachel's mind. "Have you ever wondered how porcelain is made?" Rachel said as they got closer.

"Uh-huh," Cindy nodded without looking up.

"What about the way they stay so clean? Or maybe just the process of hydroponic farming."

"Uh-huh," Cindy said again as they moved closer.

"Well, maybe we should all talk about this since you seem all knowledgeable and stuff."

No sooner had Rachel finished this sentence then Cindy reached over and pulled a book on the shelf next to her, which clicked. A sudden clatter fell all around them which caused Gina to fall down from the shock of it. Rachel, however, cursed as she crouched to the floor and glared at the nerdy girl through the bars of the metal cage which had just fallen.

"What in the hell?" Rachel shouted as Gina huddled on the floor.

"Got you," Cindy said without changing the pitch of her voice or cracking a smile.

"You little bitch!" Rachel shouted, as her calm exploded in a heap of debris. "We're gonna kick your ass!"

"Then I guess there is no motivation for me to let you two out of there," the normally quiet girl intoned without the slightest hint of emotion.

"No! Rachel, stop!" Gina shouted. "Stop making her angry!"

"She's not angry," Rachel hissed. "Just look at her! She doesn't feel anything! It probably doesn't even compute!"

"Actually," Cindy said flatly, "I am feeling an immense amount of satisfaction at the moment."

"You see," Gina said as Rachel clenched her fists, "stop hassling her!"

"I have decided to honor the both of you by including you in an experiment," Cindy intoned as Gina went pale. "Please step apart," Cindy said as she picked up something which looked like an old bug-killing device from an episode of Loony Toons.

"Fuck you!" Rachel shouted as she charged to the edge of the bars and reached for the obstinate girl. But Cindy was beyond taunting, and as she stared coldly into the cage at them, she lowered her bug sprayer, and proceeded to cover Rachel with an orange powder. In a moment, the red haired test subject was turned away and trying to hold her breath. The mist surrounded her and clung to her skin in close in a way which revolted her. When at last she opened her eyes and dared to breathe again, it took everything Rachel had not to begin a tirade of swearing. Instead she settled for, "What... was that?"

"That would be a special pheromone," Cindy said with a touch of pride in her voice. "Gina is the control group and you are the test group. Please try to react naturally to all external stimuli."

Then, before Rachel could think of another word to say, Cindy pulled another book on the shelf, the floor beneath the the two girls opened, and their screams faded into the blackness below.
