a little sneak preview of this long as hell story:
Mark looked up, fear in Karen's eyes as she looked at the piece of paper. Then a smile formed on her face.
"I...Mark...I'm pregnant."
He was astounded, happy that he knew that he was to be a father. But then Oleasen's words went through his mind again.
"Do not get her pregnant. If you do, you will regret it."
It played in his head over and over, fear started striking against his mind. Tears formed in her eyes and she ran out of his sight down the hall before he could go after her. She disappeared from him for several days, not even showing up to family dinners. He began to get worried and went looking for her. He lloked all around the city, finding her bound and her mouth covered. He ran then stopped as the glimmering blade went in fron of her throat. it was about eight inches long at best. Not a single knick on it and it looked to be razor sharp. Karen's brother stepped to her side.
"I told you what would happen, you didn't listen, I told you be careful, you didn't listen. Now. You will pay the price. Your life or hers?"
Twas a hardened decision for mark. He would either betray her or force her to live a life a lone raising a bastard child.
"You don't have to do this. Please. Just let her go and all will be ok."
"It is against the law of our kind, our religion. You will pay the price."
He pressed the tip gently to her side, moving the blade across her stonach slowly, cutting through the fabric...
