Emma and Seth had been walking for quite some time. Finally, Emma stopped and said,

"We're here!"

Seth looked around. He saw nothing and no one. Nothing in the trees either, there wasn't even anything that looked like a trap door. 'Oh God, I've been "rescued" by a crazy chick that thinks I'm cute...' As they continued walking, Emma waved at people that weren't there, even occasionally saying hello.

"In here." Emma said as she opened an imaginary flap to an imaginary tent. With some difficulty they managed to sit down. Suddenly a voice from nowhere told Seth to close his eyes. Although shocked and somewhat frightened, he did as he was told. Moments later he felt a tingling sensation throughout his body, and without warning the air was filled with noise. Seth quickly opened his eyes to find that he was sitting in a tent and in front of him sat a Keidran. She was some sort of feline, but with a fur pattern like nothing Seth had ever seen. She was all white with blue stripes that went from her nose, over the top of her head, and Seth assumed they continued down her back because they were also on her tail. She also had a few blue spots here and there.

"My name is Rain. Before you ask, that was the suppression field. We couldn't just let scouts discover our base that easily now could we?" Seth couldn't be sure, but he could swear that Rain was glowing slightly. "From the looks of it, you could use a new leg. Am I right?" Seth simply nodded. He was still a bit dazed by everything that was going on, and probably from the blood loss as well. "Good, now just lay back and relax. This won't hurt a bit, or so they tell me." She said with a chuckle.

Seth lay down and relaxed as much as he could, but was still a bit nervous. He flinched a bit when Rain started to remove the bandages.

"~whistle~ that mine sure did a number on you. You're just lucky that was an old, non-magic one. The ones they put down now would have simply vaporized you."

She continued to unwrap his leg and put the cloth aside when she was done. "Alright," Rain said, cracking he knuckles, "let's get this over with."

Her hands hovered over Seth's leg, and both his leg and her hands began to glow a deep blue. Seth closed his eyes and relaxed fully when he felt his leg go numb. It wasn't long before Rain spoke again.

"I'm sorry, but it has been too long since the injury. I could only do so much."

Seth opened his eyes and looked down. His leg now extended all the way to where his ankle should be, but stopped just before the joint. Seeing the sadness in his face, Emma placed an arm around Seth's shoulder and said,

"Don't worry; we have some great engineers here. They'll make you a leg that that is just as good as your old one. No, better!"

Rain chuckled a bit. "That'll have to wait a bit. This poor fellow needs some rest."

Emma pouted a bit but agreed. She went and got some new bandages and a pair of crutches and escorted Seth to her tent.

"So, why am I staying in your tent?"

"It's just temporary. We'll have you your own tent in no time. Now, get some sleep. When you wake up feel free to look around. I'll find you at some point and give you a proper tour."

Seth took of his pack and lay down on the cot, which was surprisingly comfortably for a cot. He figured it was probably enchanted.

He had a dream during that short nap. He was lying on the ground under a tree. He sat up to see that he was on a small patch of grass surrounded by a sidewalk. There were a few brick buildings in two rows with the sidewalk going in between them and a few more off in the distance. There were a lot of humans walking by, taking no notice of him. When he looked around more, Seth also saw Keidran and Basitin walking from building to building. They were all young adults, many of them carrying books. Just then Seth heard a familiar sound off in the distance. It was a bell tower, and from the number of chimes it appeared to be nine o'clock. Soon the number of people walking diminished to just a few and Seth got up and headed to the nearest building. When he got to the building he opened the door and proceeded to wake up. He sat up in the cot and noticed that the shadows had moved lower on the side of the tent. Seth sat and pondered as to what his dream was for a minute before grabbing his crutches and heading out.

Almost immediately Emma spotted him and ran over. "Ah, you're awake! Come on, I want to get your leg measured so they can make it while I show you around."

They entered a rather large tent where a male fox Keidran was waiting for them. The tent was full of all kind of machinery and several work tables. The fox instructed Seth to a nearby bench and he sat down. The fox explained that he was going to scan his leg, or rather his stump, with a laser to get the exact shape. He then had Seth stand up so he could take measurements of his intact leg to figure out how to build the prosthetic limb.

"Alright, that's all the data I need. Come back in a few hours and I should be done."

"Thanks so much Tom!" Emma said before the two of them left the tent. "Now, how about that tour?"

"Sounds great, let's go."
