Babe? Yeah? Let's keep our stories between 3000 and 5000 words, alright? Why? Because our last chapter was extremely long. Aww! But I like extremely long. I'll show you extremely long... I mean, enjoy our story while I do business with my pup.

Chapter 3

It's fall and the trees are being stripped of their leaves and painted with bright colors of the leaves; the ground is also painted by bright colors from the remnants of the trees, but not California. California might have some trees like that, but usually everything turns green instead of brown, since the seasonal "winter rain" usually starts up at this time, instead of snow. It's Wednesday, October 14th; Traska and Ajax have been friends for more than two months, at least-more than friends, they're best friends; great friends to say the least.

Everyday, after their classes, they would hang out and study at Ajax's dorm room, helping each other as best as they could. After they finish their homework they would go out and walk down to a very popular local café.... Starbucks.... and talk about their day; the latest gossip; the weather; the weird guy that keeps staring at a fur across the room for some reason. But today, however, today was something different. Today had a weird spark to it, as it seemed to buzz though the air like a bee flying around and bumping into things. Ajax feels it, more so than Traska, and gets giddier as minute goes by.

Today the tiger and the collie are sitting in the café, both drinking hot chocolate. Both have been quiet for quite awhile, but something seemed to be floating in the air, as if something needed to be opened-like a child waiting to open his presents on Christmas day. Feeling awkward at the silence, Traska decides to break the ice by doing the-ever-so-famous "So."

"So?" Ajax looked up from his notepad.

"What's up, we've been quiet for over an hour now?"

The collie shrugged. "I don't know, it's just," he pondered his next words. "I guess I'm just frivolous today."

The tiger nodded. "Is it because it's your birthday tomorrow?" Ajax's eyes widen and a large ear-to-ear smile appeared on his muzzle as he nodded quickly. "Ah," Traska said taking a sip from his hot chocolate. "Thought so."

The canine stared at Traska with sparkling eyes. "I'm finally turning 18!" The feline chuckled and scuff. "What?"

"Nothing, it's not that impressive," he thought and shrugged. "All though you can finally buy some things though."

"Yeah," Ajax sighed happily, tilting his head back and forth in agreement. "But there's this thing that I have wrong with me. I don't like odd numbers." Traska gave a chuckle. "Like when I'm turned 13, everyday I would say: 'GOD I WISH I WERE 14!'"

"You're weird." The tiger smiled.

"AND you're just noticing this?"

"No, I'm just stating the obvious."

"Well congratulations Captain Obvious, you've been promoted to Major Obvious!"

Traska chuckled and smiled widely. "Why thank you, Sergeant Sarcastic!" The collie facepawed and groaned, while the tiger laughed out loud.

"Whatever," the canine groaned. "It's just my birthday tomorrow." Traska stopped laughing and looked at Ajax with a smile, and a sparkle in his eye. The collie, feeling slightly awkward with Traska's twinkle, slightly stuttered as he spoke. "C-can I help you?"

"Do you want to do something special for your birthday?"

Ajax blinked. "I-is this a date?" he thought, and couldn't help but to blush. "L-like w-what?"

"Well since you're turning 18 we can probably go to that club that just opened up called 'Furs Paws 'n' Tails'."

"Oh!" the collie exclaimed with the same twinkle in his eye, and began to blush a bit more. "The Bi club?" Traska nodded. "But don't you have to be 21 just to enter?"

The tiger shook his head. "Not at all, some clubs allow anyone under 21, 18 the minimum; they just give you a wristband that says I'M 18, NO ALCOHOL PLEASE!"

Ajax chuckled and nodded. "Ok."

"So what do you say? You in?"

Ajax thought about it for a moment; even though it wasn't sort of like a date, maybe this could the way to hint at that he's gay. The only question was: 'how do I do that?' Unconsciously the collie nodded dumbly as he was in his incoherent thought process (or his IQ Fizz that he so commonly calls it-daydreaming for short).

"Great!" the tiger exclaimed, which snapped the collie out of his thought. "Since tomorrow is Wednesday the party is probably going to be short. Or unless you want to celebrate it on a Friday or Saturday?"

The collie raised his paw and tilted it back and forth. "Meh, I rather do it on the day of my birthday. And I don't want like a total celebration."

The tiger shrugged and nodded, "Then tomorrow it is."

The next day, clouds loomed overhead and covered the sun, the feel of rain hung in the air. Ajax and Traska were walking back to the dorm after class; the collie's tail swayed happily from side to side and there was a slight bounce in his step.

"Excited for tonight?" the tiger smiled.

"Yeah, but kind of nervous at the same time."

"Oh," Traska raised an eyebrow. "And why's that?"

The collie took deep breath. "I don't know, maybe it's because it's my first time inside of a club... and it's also my birthday!" Ajax squealed. The tiger chuckled and stopped outside the entrance to the dorm's foyer. The pup stopped just before opening the door and looked behind him with his eyebrow raised.

"I'm going home right quick," Traska said with his head slightly tilted to the left.

"Why?"

"I want to get dressed up all club like, whatever that is."

The collie raised his eyebrow and nodded slowly. "Uh-huh."

"I'll be back," assured the feline. Ajax nodded and smiled, saying ok quietly. The tiger turned started walking towards the student parking lot.

<><><>

Ajax watched the tiger walk slowly back to his car for a moment more, before pulling the door open and walked into the foyer. He sighed as he ignored the different furs sitting around the lobby, talking, studying, and scheming. His mind was boggled on how he could come out to Traska... and maybe admit his feelings to the well-built feline.

"There has got to be a way I could tell him... but how?" he thought to himself. He sighed once again and walked up the stairs to the third floor of the building.

As he made his way to his door, his mind whirled around the subject about coming out. But another situation quickly bothered him. What if the tiger was straight and tried hooking him up with a girl? Ajax couldn't live in such a lie, and he would be too scared to tell him the truth.

He shook his head and unlocked the door to his now all-too-familiar room. Once inside, the smell of canine and musk overpowered his nostrils, making him feel at home in his natural aroma. He flopped himself on his bed and sighed loudly, stretching his back from the long day.

"So...what to wear?" he thought aloud to himself. "I'm going to a club, so nothing really fancy..."

Ajax got back up and went over to his wardrobe. He opened it and sorted through his clothes, commenting dully on each.

"Nope... fad... ugly... seriously? ...Nah-ah..." he numerated.

The collie stopped his movements when he spotted a particular set of clothes. He raised his eyebrow and grinned.

"Perfect..."

<><><>

Traska walked up to Ajax's room and knocked on the door. "Yo, puppy?!" he called out. The tiger had a slight whiff of cologne wafting off his body, dressed in new dark blue jeans that he had been saving, just for a special occasion, a plain white-T for an under shirt and a green and black unbuttoned plaid shirt on.

The collie jumped as he added the finishing touches to his garb and shouted back.

"Yeah! Just give me a sec!" He quickly rushed off to get his keys, wallet, and cell phone. After making sure he had everything, he readjusted his clothing before clearing his throat and opening the door, blushing slightly at the sight of the well dressed tiger and smiling shyly at him.

Traska smiled. "You look good for just going to a club," he chuckled softly, his voice was low, to an almost growl like effect.

"Thanks," the collie smiled, stepping out of his room and closing the door, and started walking down the hall. Traska raised an eyebrow and stared at the collie, eyeing him up and down. The tiger started at the collie's shoes and went up. He wore white Nike shoes, compared to his black skater shoes; black pants to a slightly toned ass-Traska blushed slightly as his caught himself being transfixed on Ajax's tail, which was swaying slightly from side-to-side as he walked. Ajax wore a black, plain T-shirt with a long sleeved white shirt underneath. Around his neck he wore a white scarf, and what caught the tiger's attention was the collie's white fedora with a black band that ran along the brim of the hat. The tiger blushed and he caught himself almost giving out a wolf's whistle. Traska took a deep breath and followed the collie, taking large steps to catch up with him. "If only, if only..." he thought.

Ajax looked over his shoulder to smile at the large cat. He politely waited for him to catch up, tapping his paws to an unknown rhythm on the side of his legs. Once Traska caught up to him, he started his march again, heading down to the lobby and outside in the parking lot.

"So, which car is yours?" he asked, looking around at the different vehicles parked neatly.

"Over there, the white Honda Civic." he said, pointing over to some distant car as he walked expertly towards it.

The collie blinked as he followed him. "I'm sorry; I don't know much about cars. All I know is its white..." Aj admitted.

Traska chuckled and he stopped in front of a white car, written "Honda Civic" on the back of it. "This car."

Ajax slowly nodded as he made his way to the passenger side of it. He heard the door click and opened it, sitting inside the car quaintly. He twitched his nose as he waited for the tiger to start up the vehicle and pull out of the parking lot.

As they drove down the oddly quiet streets, Ajax was silent as he lost himself in thought. His mind questioned different ways to come out to the tiger, and maybe a possibility of admitting his feelings to the striped hunk beast beside him. He glanced over at him, Traska too busy to notice his loving stare on him. He scanned his well-built frame, giving him a manlier look that made the collie drool on himself at times. His clothing added a bit of a casual class to him, another turn on for the canine since he didn't only look for physique. The thin small glasses on his muzzle gave him an intelligent look, and-with all honesty-made him look even cuter.

Aj sighed to himself as he looked back at the road. He wasn't exactly sure if he impressed Traska since the orange cat never gave him an exact sign of liking his clothing. Sure he had said he looked nice before commenting on the fact they were only going to a club.

The road turned right and Traska slowed the car down in front a brown bricked building, a large neon light on the front of it with pink, blue and yellow colors proudly disposing the words: "Furs, Paws 'n Tails". On the front stood a red archway where a large panda bear stood proudly in his security uniform, letting people in and sometimes giving the famous wristband that Ajax would have to wear, not that he minded since he despised alcohol. Loud music was heard from the inside and the collie twitched his ears to the rhythm.

The striped feline parked the car on the side of the road and got out, unlocking the doors and letting Ajax get out as well. They walked down towards the club and stood in front of it, gazing at it for a while.

"Wow." let the canine go. "Sounds fun in there..." he smiled. Traska nodded to his statement when a white fox passed the two, looking over his shoulder at the collie.

"Hey there!" he called, turning around and walking up to him. "You're cute, wanna dance later inside?" he said, a large grin on his muzzle.

Ajax blushed ferociously red and blinked at the arctic fox.

"I...uh...well...I'm not really...um...interested...thank you though...I'm very, um, flattered." he stuttered, watching him with wide eyes.

The fox's eyes made their way to the tiger and he nodded curtly.

"Ah, I see. You're with your boyfriend." he scanned the tiger. "I can get why you'd rather be with him." the white fur raised his eyebrow with a grin.

Traska's ears flicked and a faint blush crept over his muzzle, the collie unaware of it though from the sheer surprise of the situation.

"He's not my, um, boyfriend! We're just friends!" Ajax said the blush over his muzzle even redder than before.

The fox pouted and eyed both. "Aw, well that's a shame. You both look good together. Anyways, see you inside!" he called, leaving the two stunned and standing awkwardly.

"I...I look good with Traska?" Ajax thought to himself, his eyes wide and his body paralyzed from the incident.

The feline, on the other hand, shrugged and started to walk towards the entrance. Aj blinked and followed behind him, blushing immensely. When they got to the glass doors, a tall and large panda bear that stood on the side came up to them and asked for identification. The tiger took his wallet out calmly and showed him his driver's license, and he was let through. The collie walked up to him, taking his wallet out and showed him his library card, the only thing he had as an ID. The panda nodded and took out a small neon yellow wristband written "I'M 18, NO ALCOHOL PLEASE!" and strapped it around his right wrist.

Ajax quickly followed the tiger in the club and his jaw dropped at what he saw. Neon blue lights were lit around a dome bar and on one side were males and females interacting, and the other side males and females as well, but interacting with the same sex. The canine blinked and shifted his gaze from one side to the other. Tables stood near the cushioned walls and loud music pumped in his twitching ears. Many furs were either chatting, or dancing, or making out in complete public. The black tiled floor seemed invisible under his feet as he walked along with the tiger up to one of the tables, on the left side of the club. He sat down quickly at the end of it and rested his body on the wall, watching the tiger intently as he sat down with a grin.

"Wow. It's loud here!" stated Ajax, not knowing what to say.

"Yeah I know!" answered back Traska.

Ajax smiled at him as he looked around again, in better detail. White lights hung from a bit everywhere, yet the blue neon from the bar glowed powerfully in the large place. The bar itself was seated mostly with adults, some younger furs trying to hide their bracelet to get a drink.

"You know, they shouldn't even bother trying to hide their wristbands, they flash in the neon lights and so they can easily see them...speaking of which, I'll get myself a drink, you can go chat about if you want!" said the tiger, getting up and making his merry way to the side of the bar.

Ajax blinked as he got up and looked around nervously, shuffling his paws together as he eyed the tiger and slowly made his way to the other side of the club, blushing heavily as a few male eyes fell on him. He noticed a few of them whisper to themselves as they danced or simply sipped at their drinks and his blush grew as he walked amongst the crowd.

A paw clasped itself on his shoulder and he jumped, turning around quickly to see a black wolf, taller than him, smiling toothily at him.

"Hey there, mind if I stick around with you for a while?" he asked the collie, his green eyes staring at his.

"Um...well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to chat a bit..." he chuckled nervously as the wolf brought him to a table with other furs, one bunny, two dogs, both huskies, and a cat. Ajax was pushed rather lightly on the chair and he landed next to the cat, the wolf sitting next to him and squeezing him in between. He blushed heavily as they all eyed him and he gulped.

"Um...I'm Ajax." he waved his paw gently at them, blushing.

<><><>

Thump thump thump thump thump.

The tiger's ears flicked against the beat, ever so naturally. He glided up to the bar and decided what to drink. It wasn't first time drinking, but it was his first time looking at what was what, and looking over the different concoctions. The tiger blinked and stood by the bar eyeing his selections.

As Traska gazed at the assortment of bottle of liquor, his gaze was broken by a 5' 9'' otter who smiled widely at the tiger. His fur shined in the neon lights, showing, what looked to be like, brown, silk fur with golden stripes-a unique feature to this otter indeed. The otter didn't look to much older than he did; his green eyes glistened as his ears perked forward as he started talking to the tiger.

"So what will it be for you today?"

"Durr," The tiger derped and looked past the otter at the bottles. "I don't know! I really never had 'a drink'. Just give me a Coke, or a Pepsi, never was into drink anyhow." The otter nodded and turned, as did Traska. The tiger's ears still flicked towards the blasting bass beat, almost making his vision blurry.

A tap settled across the tiger's shoulder, making him turn around and smile. The otter handed Traska his cola and smiled, before side stepping and helping the next eager customer inline-or in this case, jumping up and down trying to get the bartenders attention.

Traska didn't waste anytime downing his drink. Taking three big gulps he quickly finished it. As he did, he watched the other furs dancing in the "straight" section of the bar. Although he didn't mind it, the tiger seemed... out of place. A euphoric feeling settled the felines stomach, he had reasons to believe to be bi, but he somehow doubted that, good reason too. Ajax was beautiful and perfect to him, "Guess the fox was right, we do look perfect together." He thought to himself, only to sigh and pin his ears back. "If only."

The tiger looked at his glass, which was now empty, and had a sudden urge to use the restroom. Quickly, he placed his glass on the counter, got out his wallet, and took out a twenty, which he placed under the glass, and high-tailed it to the bathroom. Traska quickly, yet carefully, pushed his way through the mingling furs, not minding the glares and stares-he really needed to tinkle.

The bathrooms were located in the split off section of the club that separated the straights from the... not so straight. As the tiger neared this section, and was just about to round the corner into the hall, something caught his eye and he froze. "Aj?" the feline muddled to himself, his head slightly turned as he peered into the gay section of the bar.

Traska saw Ajax sitting with the group of furs at a booth. The tiger blinked and did a double take. "There's no way. I thought he was..." The tiger sort of shrugged it off and went into the hallway towards the bathroom.

<><><>

Ajax laughed nervously, something seemed wrong about the table he was sitting at; something out of place that he could place a paw on.

"Well, thanks for guys, but I have to leave." The collie said, standing up.

A simultaneous "aww" came from everyone at the table. "Why?" asked the wolf. "Yeah why?" asked the bunny. "Surely you can stay for a bit longer," the cat called.

"No, I have to get back, my friend is probably wondering where I am."

"You're friend?" asked one of the huskies. "I'm pretty sure it's his boyfriend!" stated another. Ajax blushed furiously and started walking off in a slight rage. "Why do people keep saying that Traska is my boyfriend!" he thought angrily, which quickly turned into a calm thought. "Then again," he frowned at the thought. "He probably doesn't like me back."

The canine walked passed the point into the straight bar, looking down slightly at his feet and wasn't really paying any attention to where he was going. Ajax continued walking until he bumped into something. Frightened the collie jumped back and clasped his muzzle. "Oh my god! I'm sorry, are you ok?!"

The fur he bumped into didn't seem too phased at all and looked back at the collie. "Yeah, I'm fine."

"Are you sure, I'm so sorry!"

"No, it's alright." Said the otter, who tilted his head and noticed that the collie was just coming back from the other side. "That side too gay for you?" The otter smirked.

"Wha-?" Ajax asked, slightly befuddled by the otter's question.

"Did you not like that side?" The otter questioned again and pointed across the room.

The canine blinked like a deer in headlights. "Um... no, I did. I just was trying to find my friend."

The otter nodded. "Oh, well I'm sure he's around here somewhere. By the way, I'm Riku." The otter held out his paw.

"H-hi, Riku," Ajax stammered to regain his composure again and took the otters paw and shook it. "I'm Ajax."

"Mmm, I like your name." Riku smiled, his gold fur seemed to shine more.

"T-thanks. I've got to get going,"

The otter nodded and smiled. "Ok, have fun!"

The collie smiled and nodded. "You too." Ajax then turned and started walking back towards the table that he and Traska were at before and sat down.

<><><>

Traska splash his face with water and looked up at the mirror. He watched the drops of water flow down his face. "He's gay," the tiger thought. His emotions were mixed between slightly confused to happy. "He's gay! But... he probably doesn't like me back." The tiger growled softly to himself and wiped his face with his paw and yawned. "Should've done this on a Saturday, but then again. It probably would be filled on Saturday."

The feline yawned again and quickly pushed the thought of Aj being gay out of his mind, for now. "Maybe the fucking otter spiked my drink! Ugh!" He sighed and left the bathroom and slowly went back to the table to wait for the collie. To his surprise, as he neared the table, he saw the collie sitting by himself. Traska sat down with a sigh.

"Took you long enough." The collie smiled widely at him.

"I had to use the bathroom," he yawned. Ajax watched the tiger yawn, which sparked a yawn of his own. The tiger chuckled and smiled. "I think we should go now, maybe continue your birthday celebration somewhere else," He yawned again. Ajax nodded and yawned once more. They both stood up and started walking out towards the exit.

<><><>

Riku stood at the bar again, his shift over barely five minutes ago. He didn't have the urge to go home, at least not just yet. He looked towards the exit and saw the collie walking with the tiger, which sparked something inside him. The otter smirked to himself as he thought. "Maybe they are just friends."
