#20 of Tora

Yes, I almost didn't think I'd get this out, cuz I had writer's block toward the end. Needless to say, I absolutely destroyed that block by going on a trip to the mall and listening to my tunes. Yay! So don't let me keep you waiting with my little words up here. Remember, the author, me, likes it when you comment and vote. It make him happy, so don't forget to do that.

**********8**********

With the crisis over and put behind them, Chris, Alice, and their pokémon enjoyed a delicious lunch at a nearby outdoor restaurant. The events of the day weren't told to Lani yet. He wanted to wait until they got back to their room before he asks any questions regarding the photograph of her with a wanted criminal. For now, he'd just enjoy the rest of the day. At the same time, Aaron talked to Tora about his request of her. It wasn't really anything demanding. He asked if she wanted to go out on a midnight walk. She agreed of course, never having gone strolling in the middle of the night before. Chris gave them the okay to stay out late and warned them to be careful. Aaron assured him that he'll look after her and that they won't stay out for too long.

Once everyone finished their lunch, Chris and Alice decided to spend the rest of the day relaxing at the park with their pokémon. Most of them enjoyed just lying on the grass, but, to no one's surprise, Jari had too much energy and was ready to fight. He wanted a fight with someone's pidgeotto this time. Unfortunately for Alice, she didn't make it in time before Jari swung his bone at it. The bird managed to avoid the intended attack. Its trainer saw the exchange and was set on battling if he and his pokémon were going to be attacked out of nowhere. Alice couldn't talk her way out of it and sighed at a very possible defeat. The cubone wasn't exactly where she wanted him to be, but she hoped that his luck and determination would come out. They were at an extreme disadvantage fighting a flying type. The other people cleared an area big enough for them.

On the sidelines, Chris sort of felt sorry for Alice for getting dragged into a battle. Next to him, he heard Kishan, Fang, and Lani taking bets on who'll win. Fang was the only one who bet on Jari. The wager was half of the other's dinner, so the stakes were pretty high. April didn't want to partake in it and chose to lie on his lap while she took a nap. Aaron, Tora, and Kaden were watching next to him with just as much interest as he did, although Kaden seemed to look a little apologetic at having failed his guardian duties.

"Darn it, Jari! Why did you have to go and do that?" Alice exclaimed. "I was looking forward to having a relaxing afternoon."

"That big turkey looked at me funny! I can't let him get away with looking down on me, the world's greatest warrior!" Jari shouted back. Even though she couldn't understand him, she figured that what he said had to have been a petty excuse to look for a fight. She just sighed and looked back at her opponents, who were ready to get started.

"Whatever. Just try not to pick anymore fights after this."

"No promises!" he replied as he faced his feathered opponent.

"Pidgeotto, start things off with gust!" the trainer commanded. The brown feathered bird took off into the air and flapped its powerful wings. The near typhoon-like winds were enough to make everyone in its path brace themselves, except for Jari. The cubone simply stood there without moving an inch, not even blinking.

"A breeze like this is not even worth recognizing!" Jari shouted.

"Jari, use Focus energy," Alice said.

"About time you said something." Jari took a deep breath and got his adrenaline pumping. Without waiting for another command, he ran toward his opponent.

"Jari, I didn't tell you to go yet!"

"You need to get better control of your pokémon," the trainer commented. "Or else this is going to be completely one-sided. Quick attack, pidgeotto!" The large bird stopped flapping its wings and made a dive toward the cubone. The avian was extremely quick and Alice had only a moment to tell Jari to dodge before it was too late. Jari however wouldn't listen and continued his charge. Just as the bird was within a ten foot range, Jari turned his body sideways with his left foot stopping his movement and struck a pose with his bone raised over his head held tightly in both paws. The trainer saw Jari getting into attack position, but it was far too late to tell his pokémon to stop. Jari brought his club down and up, catching the bird on the upswing and sending it flying like a professional golfer would a golf ball.

Jaws dropped at the sound of the impact and even more so when the bird fell and didn't get back up. Jari got out of his final pose and expertly twirled his bone before pointing it at the trainer triumphantly.

"Next!"

"Oh no, pidgeotto!" The trainer quickly scooped up his pokémon and started running toward the pokémon center. There was a small round of applause from the crowd as they slowly disburse and go about their business.

"That's right, you all saw it! There's no one that can beat me! I'm the greatest warrior ever!"

"I don't believe it," Lani said, amazed at the outcome.

"Me neither," Kishan commented with the same disbelief. "Who would've thought he had a chance to win against a flying type?"

"That doesn't right now because now that he's won..." Both of them turned to Fang, who had the biggest grin they had ever seen. "We've lost half our dinner," they both sighed.

"I can honestly say that I didn't see that coming," Aaron said.

"I don't think any of us can say we did," Tora said. "Still, it doesn't mean he can gloat like that." They watched as Jari continued his boasting while Alice was scolding him on not listening to her.

"I'd let him have his moment. Besides, including the training, he hasn't had the best winning streak and his extreme confidence doesn't allow him to feel down when he does lose."

"I guess, but I still think he should tone it down some."

"True enough."

The rest of the day went as smoothly as it could get from there. Come dinner time, Fang was especially excited because he got a second helping of food thanks to the earlier bet, leaving Lani and Kishan fairly disappointed. Chris was as excited as ever for his first gym match. He could hardly contain himself to even sit still. Eventually, there came the time to part ways with Alice and he went into his room for the night. He immediately gave each of his pokémon a bath to wash away the grime of the day. Afterwards, he returned Kaden and Lani to their balls to rest until tomorrow. By now, it was about 9:30pm and he was finally winding down. He flopped backwards on his bed with an exhausted sigh. Tora and Aaron were sitting by his head.

"Are you ready for tomorrow?" Aaron asked.

"I did enough training for it, so I better be ready," Chris replied. "And speaking of getting ready, what are you gonna do for two and a half hours?"

"Er... We're just going to head out now. Midnight is kind of late anyway," Tora replied.

"Oh, well I guess I'll be seeing you later then." He gave Tora one last hug before they vanished from the room.

The next thing Tora realizes is that they're in the middle of a forest. "So this is where we're walking?" Tora asked.

"I figured it would be better than walking in the middle of the city," Aaron answered. "Besides, this way we can be alone and don't have to worry about anyone interrupting us."

"What do mean by 'interrupting us'? What do thinks' gonna happen on this walk?"

"I didn't mean anything by it. It's just that I want it to be just us tonight. Come on, let's get moving." Aaron started walking with Tora right beside him. For the most part, it was quiet, but neither was too concerned about talking. The occasional glances at each other were always met with small smiles. The moonlight helped them see what was in front of them. As time went on, Tora was feeling more and more awkward with each glance. She knew that it was probably the silence getting to her since they haven't really had a time when they've been silent around each other for so long. She tried striking up a conversation a couple times, but couldn't think of anything worthwhile to say, which she thought was pretty pathetic. Then the words 'interrupting us' came up in her head again. Although he made it clear that he meant nothing by it, she could never tell when it came to him. Half of the things he says are only to tease her.

"Ya' know, that's not always a bad thing," Aaron said, which made the chu jump.

"What did I tell you about-"

"Reading your mind? Sorry, I couldn't help it; your thoughts are really loud. But is that what you really think?"

"Um... sometimes..." she said hesitantly.

"Jeez, you say it like you don't mean it. I know I tease you sometimes, but only out of fun and because I like you.

"I know. It's just that I couldn't think of anything to say and I... kind of got stuck on what you said earlier..." Aaron stopped walking and turned to the chu with a smirk.

"It's not too late for something to happen. The night is still young and there's no one around to hear us." Tora felt her face heat up a little.

"You know what; I think I'm starting to like the quiet walk we were having, so..." Aaron crotched down and began slowly advancing toward Tora with a low growl in his throat, like a predator cornering his prey. Tora nervously started backing away from him. There was a certain look in his eyes that sent chills down her spines. Whether they were good or bad chills, she wasn't completely sure. All she knew was that if she didn't get away, then something was going to happen.

"You're right on that part, my lovely chu."

Rather than complain about him reading her mind again, she bolted to her left in a desperate run to escape. Aaron was quick to follow behind with the same predatory look. The chu ran through bushes and ducked under low-hanging branches. She made a few sharp turns to throw her pursuer off her trail, but he stuck with her every step of the way. Every time she checked to see how close he was, he seemed to be getting closer and closer. Anxiety and adrenaline coursed through her body at the thought of the espeon finally catching her. She thought of several possibilities at what he might, and could, do to her once he caught her, all ranging from playful acts to lustful ones. Each one was more appealing than the last and it made her... excited, so much so that she almost laughed out loud. She wanted to see how bad he really wanted to catch her.

Tora jumped, latching onto a tree and swiftly climbing up. Aaron was surprised at her action, but smiled at her challenge. "So that's how it's going to be, huh?" he thought. Since he couldn't climb up using his current form, he transformed into a grovyle and made a huge leap onto the lowest branch. He saw that Tora was a couple trees ahead of him. "Too naïve." He dashed after her, catching up in just two leaps on her right. "Looks like I've got you." Tora cast at sideways glance at him.

"Not yet," she said. Just as they were about to jump to the next tree, Tora instead jumped down and made a sharp right once she touched the ground. She was sure that would put some distance between them and slowed her pace a little to recover some energy. She soon found out that doing that was a mistake. Aaron's reflexes were sharp and it took him no time at all to catch up to her. She saw him appear out the corner of her eye in his raichu form and nearly screamed when he leaped at her, but she managed dodge him by jumping over him. He crashed into a bush, giving Tora enough time to shake him off. "That was too close," she thought.

"I'm getting closer," Aaron said telepathically. "Just make it easy on yourself and let me have you."

"If you want me so badly, you're going to have to catch me," she retorted. She picked up the pace and made a couple wide turns to make sure to throw him off her trail.

After a couple minutes of not seeing him, the chu was sure Aaron had given up, which was somewhat disappointing to her. It was then a familiar, yet out of place smell hit her. Although she had only smelt it once, there was no mistaking it. She charged through a group of shrubs and was met with a strange site. The grassy land of the forest she was running on ended. There was only white sand and the sight of an ocean. The night sky was lit up by millions of stars with the moon looking abnormally large. It was almost like she was back on Mt Moon. She stopped her running to absorb her surroundings and rest. She could see small waves crashing on the shore and feel a continuous warm breeze all over her fur. It felt nice to her after all that running.

"Running? Oh-" A slight shuffle in the sand told her that it was already too late. She turned to see Aaron standing about five feet from her. There was absolutely nowhere to run anymore. She was too tired to do much more anyway. Aaron crept toward the defenseless chu with a hungry look in his eyes. Once he got close enough, he rubbed her cheek gently with his paw.

"I've caught you," he said. "I don't know why you ran from me. All I wanted to show you was a little bit of lovin'." Aaron leaned in and kissed her for the first time on her lips. Both of their faces heated up as he did this. Despite how easily he had gone through with it, Aaron was completely nervous about it. He knew that it was probably a little sudden to step up his affection like this, but he wanted her to know that he wanted more from her.

Tora was surprise at the sudden kiss, but didn't pull away. She knew in the back of her mind that there always a reason why he does what he does, or says what he says. It just usually takes her for him to actually do something until she finally gets what he wants. She could blame that the hints he was giving her were probably too subtle or that she herself was just too oblivious to notice them, but it was just the right amount of both that made their relationship that much more adventurous for them. Gradually, she kissed him back and the two lovers stayed that way for a whole two minutes.

When they finally broke the kiss, they took in much needed air into their lungs and stared at each other. Aaron looked at the ground nervously once he recovered. "So, uh... did you..."

"Yes, Aaron, you got it across just fine," she said as she hugged him. Aaron felt like he was on top of the world. He kissed her face multiple times to show her how happy he was. Tora giggled and let him do what he wanted. "Say, where are we anyway?" Aaron stopped his kissing.

"We're on my island," he answered. It took Tora a minute to fully get what he meant by his island.

"You mean..."

"Yep; this is where I was born. If you want, we can come back here in the daytime and I can show you around."

"I'd like that. So did you plan this entire trip out?" Aaron laughed at her.

"Well, I knew you would either let me do what I wanted to with you or run away. I was hoping for the latter because it would give me more time to gather my nerves..."

"You didn't really have to go through all this trouble just for this."

"But... if I don't impress you with my awesome schemes for love and affection, then how else am I going to do it?" The chu was mostly sure that he was just trying to be cute more than serious right now, but decided to humor him anyway.

"Normal guys usually try impressing a girl by taking them to a surprise dinner or giving them a really nice gift, but I guess you're not a normal guy."

"Is that bad?"

"No, I like that you keep me on my toes. It'd be boring if you were predictable. I like you just the way you are."

"Sweet, now I don't have to impress you anymore," he laughed.

"I don't think you could ever stop impressing me." The two shared one last kiss before returning back to the pokémon center.

The next morning, Chris was up earlier than he usually was. He spent his time going over his strategies for the match over and over again in his head. He even paced around the room, until Tora woke up and told him to take a shower to relax. It worked much to everyone's relief. As soon as he got dressed, he met Alice in the cafeteria for breakfast. She gave him a couple last minute pointers to help him out. The group headed out the pokémon center at around 10:30 am. By the time they reached the gym doors, Chris had steeled his nerves and became confident that he was going to win. With Alice, Aaron and Tora by his side, he entered the gym in high spirits.

The gym leader, Brock looked as if he was waiting for him. "I see you've finally shown up," he said. "Any later and I would've thought you backed out."

"Didn't I already tell you? I said that I was going to beat you and take that badge of yours. I intend to keep my word on that," Chris replied. Brock smirked.

"And I see you're as confident as ever. I'll see if I can change that once the match starts." Chris took his place in the challengers' box opposite of Brock, while the others went to sit in the stands. The kid referee announced the standard gym battle rules and gave the signal to start.

"Go graveler!" Brock shouted as he brought out his pokémon. The giant boulder stomped its feet to show off its strength. Chris tossed out his first choice as well.

"Let's shake things up, Kaden," he said. The blue beetle popped out of his ball ready to fight.

"A power battle, eh? You sure are one gutsy kid, but I guess I should've seen this coming. Okay then; Graveler, use Stone edge!" The giant rock pokémon surrounded itself with glowing white rocks before they stopped their glowing and shoot toward the heracross.

"Hide behind the rocks," Chris said, taking advantage of the rocky field. Kaden flew behind the rock beside him. It was big enough to shield him from the gravelers' attack.

"Impressive. Not only are you gutsy, but you use your head too," Brock complimented.

"I aim to please."

"Just don't think that that will help you much in this battle. Rollout graveler!" Graveler tucked in its arms and legs and rolled toward the place Kaden was hiding.

"Move it, Kaden!" Kaden flew out of the way in time to avoid the rolling boulder as it smashed its way through his hiding place like it wasn't even there.

"Whoa, that's strong." "Use Brick break!" Kaden flew at the graveler on its return trip to him with a glowing claw. Unfortunately, as soon as he struck, his claw bounced off due to the high speed rotation of the rock pokémon's body and was hit by the Rollout attack. The bug was knocked back quite a bit as he skidded on the ground. The damage was bad, but it was nothing he couldn't take again. "Kaden, look out," Chris warned. The heracross turned too late and was hit again, this time with much more power than before. Kaden flew through the air and landed in front of Chris with the wind knocked out of him. He had never felt a blow like that before in his life. It felt like he had taken a headbutt from a steelix. "You okay?"

"Could be better," Kaden replied.

Chris knew the next one would be at least twice as strong as the last one. If it were to hit Kaden like that again, the damage would be almost impossible to recover from. Since they couldn't simply dodge it forever, and Brick break seemed to be useless right now, there was only one thing they could do. The graveler came around for the next hit.

"Endure and stop it!" Kaden flew to the center of the field and braced himself for the worst. Once contact was made, he was pushed back several feet. It took all his strength to just slow his sliding to a complete stop. His claws were scraping against the graveler's rocky body, but he didn't mind if it meant not getting run over. The two managed to stay in a stalemate for a little while, but the graveler started rapidly slowing its attack to a complete halt, much to Kaden's relief.

"Graveler, what's wrong?" Brock asked worriedly, since he didn't call off the attack. It became clear once the rock pokémon got up and started swaying left to right. "No way..." Chris had a huge smile. The graveler had actually become dizzy.

"Brick break, Kaden! And don't let up!" The blue beetle went to work chopping away at the pokémon with several Brick breaks from both claws. Graveler had no time to react to any of its Brock's commands and was knocked out in no time at all.

"Graveler is unable to battle! The winner of this round is Chris!" the referee announced, which was followed up by cheering from the stands. Kaden was spent. The battle was way harder than he thought it'd be.

"Kaden, you did a great job. Get some rest," Chris said as he pointed Kaden's ball at the exhausted bug. Kaden gave him a slight nod before he was engulfed in a red light and returned.

"That was some fine battling you did," Brock praised as he returned his pokémon. "But don't think this next one will be as easy." He sent out his last pokémon, onix. The giant rock snake let out a mighty roar. Chris sent out Lani. The small dragon sized up her opponent and looked slightly uneasy.

"Chris, it looks a lot bigger than I imagined," she said nervously.

"Don't worry about its size. Try to imagine it being a giant plushy doll," he told her. Lani looked at the massive pokémon one more time and tried it.

"That... doesn't really help much if I know it could eat me."

"It's not going to eat you. Now look sharp. All you have to do is win this and we can celebrate with something special afterwards."

"Yeah, okay, I'll get this over with. But I want a cupcake when this is over."

"Anything you want. Alright, we're ready!"

"Good; then I'll make the first move. Onix, Slam it!" Brock shouted. Onix brought its lower body around to strike Lani.

"Dodge and use Aqua tail!" The small dragon had no problems avoiding the giant snake thanks to greater speed. The impact of the missed attack shook the ground. Lani wrapped her tail in swirling water and hit the onix's body. The giant barely flinched, but made no other indication of taking damage.

"You'll need to hit a lot harder than that if you want to win. Even with your water attack, onix's body is extremely tough and can take damage like that easily." Lani growled in frustration at having her attack brushed off like that.

"Then we'll just have to up the number then. Keep using Aqua tail!"

"Sandstorm!" Onix managed to stop Lani mid-attack with its Sandstorm. The constant sand in her eyes kept her immobile and from seeing anything. "Now use Stone-edge!"

"Lani, you've got to move!" Chris cried out, but the dragon had no idea where to run to. She wasn't given any time to think on it and was sent rolling backwards as she pelted with a dozen sharp rocks. "Can you get up?"

"That... hurt," Lani growled. "What a cheap move."

"Don't worry; I already thought of a way to beat it." It was the same combination that beat the other trainer. The sandstorm would protect onix by keeping the opponents from getting close and he'd use Stone-edge to attack while they were still on the defensive. It was a good plan, but it still has its holes. "We can't do anything out here, so we just have to get in closer. Charge forward with Extreme speed!" Lani vanished from sight and headed straight to the sandstorm.

"Stop it with another Stone-edge!" Brock said. Onix shot a dozen sharp rocks through its twisting shield in a horizontal line in front of it. Two of the projectiles almost hit Lani and forced her to change direction. She managed to get to the middle of the field, where it would start getting difficult to see.

"Now use Twister!" The dragon kept the momentum going as she covered herself in her own vortex. It shielded her from the irritating sand and allowed her to press forward unhindered. Even the dozen sharpened rocks shot at her were blown away. She blew through the sandstorm and was face to face with the giant rock snake. "Aqua tail!" She didn't need to be told what to do next. She powered up her Aqua tail to the fullest and used her greater speed to score multiple hits as she traveled up its body. The onix roared in pain as it tried to shake her off. Brock was almost speechless as the tables seemed to have turned on him.

"Get out of there with Dig!" he yelled in desperation. Onix roared and dove at the ground. Lani however wasn't going to let it get away that easily and continued with her barrage as the giant burrowed its way underground. She let up as soon as the tail started disappearing into the ground. The sandstorm died down as well. The dragon let out a long-held breath. It took a lot out of her to do something like that, but it was worth it because she knew the onix was worse off.

"Stay alert Lani. It can pop up at any time," Chris said. She immediately tensed and looked for any sign of it appearing again.

"I've got to say, I haven't been pushed this far in a good minute," Brock said. "You and your pokémon are pretty strong."

"We've been training for this day, so they should be more than strong enough to beat you."

"'More than strong enough?' We'll see about that if you manage to beat me." Just as he finished his sentence, the ground under Lani began to shake violently. She was quick to react and moved away in time to avoid being tackled from underground by onix. "Stone-edge!"

"Twister!" Lani's wall of wind deflected the sharp rocks once again.

"Quick, Slam it!" Onix brought its' lower body around for a large sweeping motion, breaking nearby boulders along the way.

"Dodge it with Extreme speed and use Aqua tail!" Lani avoided the wide swing and appeared at the rock snake's midsection with a powered-up aqua tail ready to deal some major damage. She wasted no time in assaulting it with her attack. The onix roared out and fell to the ground, unable to move any longer.

The referee raised his hands.

"Onix is unable to battle! The winner of this battle is Chris!" Both Chris and Lani felt relief sweep over their heads, which was accompanied by a little cheering from the stands. Brock returned his prize pokémon to its ball, not down at all from being defeated. Chris walked in the middle of the field where Lani was and picked her up.

"You were awesome," he said rubbing her head.

"So... I can get... a cupcake now?" she asked catching her breath. Chris smiled at her.

"Anything you want; just after I get you and Kaden healed up." She nodded and was returned back into her pokéball. Brock walked up to Chris with a satisfied grin on his face.

"You did a really nice job in beating me today," he said. "You showed some real courage and technique just now. Although the technique wasn't the best in the world, it's still praiseworthy and will only get better if you work at it. As proof of defeating me, I present you with the Boulder badge." Brock reached in his pocket and pulled out a small gray badge. Chris took it and held it up. The sense of accomplishment he felt was unbelievable. There was no doubt that they were going to celebrate this as the first of many victories. He thanked Brock for the badge and met everyone near the entrance. Tora hugged him excitedly, congratulating him on the win. Aaron said his congrats as well.

"Congratulations on the win," Alice said excitedly. "That was impressive stuff you guys did. Next thing you know, you'll be getting your eighth badge and be able to compete in the Pokémon League." Chris chuckled at that.

"Yeah, I can't wait for that day. I'll be the strongest trainer you know." Alice punched him playfully in the arm.

"Get real. Just because you won, doesn't mean you can let that success go to your head. Besides, we'll be seeing who the stronger trainer is at the Pokémon League anyway, so we can have our rematch then."

"That's cool; just don't cry when you lose." They continued going back and forth as they exited the building.

*****8*****

"Ah, what a day," Chris said as he entered his room for the night. He, along with Alice and her pokémon as well, spent the afternoon celebrating on getting the first of eight gym badges. He treated Lani to three cupcakes of her choosing and Kaden to a big bowl of honey. Both of them appreciated their special treat for their hard work. After that, He went with Alice in search of a place to hire them for a day. Since tomorrow was their last day in the Pewter City, it couldn't hurt to earn some cash before they left. They managed to find a couple positions open in a convenience store. Alice took up working at the register, while Chris was stocking shelves. The pay was decent for an eight-hour shift and the work wasn't too demanding.

Tora and Aaron weren't with him. The two decided to spend the evening together for a few hours and won't be back for at least another hour. He was glad that his best friend has found a boyfriend to spend time with, but he couldn't help feeling a little lonely when she was away from him. She was really the only one he ever talks and spends all his time with, so not having her around felt like a part of him was gone. Not everything was bad though. He did get to spend more time with Lani to get to know her better, so that was a plus to him. Now that he thought about it, he still needed to ask her about that picture.

He went over to his bag and pulled it out from the side pocket. No matter how much he looked at it, he couldn't find anything out of place other than the date in the corner. "I don't know why I torture myself like this. I won't get any answers unless I ask her," he thought. As he went to sit on the bed, he pulled out her ball and released her on the floor. The young dragon took a look around the room before settling on Chris.

"Hey Chris," she said happily.

"Hey Lani," he greeted back. "We've gotten to know each other pretty well and you know that I wouldn't do anything to make you uncomfortable, right?" The dragon nodded, but was wondering what he was getting at. "I was wondering if you'd answer a question I have about your life before we met."

"Sure, what do you want to know?" Chris hesitated a moment before holding out the picture in front her. "Do you remember taking this with someone named Jason and his pokémon?" The first thing that Chris noticed was the shocked expression the dragon had. Then it quickly changed to fear and, even faster than that, anger.

"Where the fuck did you get that?!" she shouted with little sparks of electricity coming off her fins. Chris flinched a little at her outburst, since she hasn't gotten angry, or swore, at him before. "How do you know his name?! Did you see him?!"

"Yeah I saw him today, but can you calm down and-"

"Don't tell me to fucking calm down! You don't know what he did! I hate him; with every fiber of my being. He single-handedly destroyed my life! He deserves to fucking die and burn in Hell getting ass-raped by Giratina!" Chris wasn't completely sure how to deal with the situation right now. She had never said anything remotely close to what she was saying now. He definitely didn't want to say anything that might make her angrier, but keeping her as she is now is just as dangerous.

"I'm sorry about that," he said sincerely. "I don't know what he did, but let me explain why I want to know." He told her the events of yesterday, of what he experienced and what he was told. As he was telling her this, she managed to calm down enough to not feeling like destroying the room. "So that's what happened. I'll understand if you don't want to talk about it." Lani sat there thinking over what he said. She wondered why Jason went to such lengths to get her. She didn't know too much about him other than his connection to her former trainer. Even so, she thought that none of this would've happened if something wasn't for her. He at least deserved an explanation as to what her relationship to him was, since he was almost arrested and had his trainer's license permanently taken away for having her.

"It's alright," she said calmly. "I'll tell everything you want to know."

"Are you sure? If it's too much to talk about-"

"I said it's fine. To answer your question; yes, that's me in the picture, but that was taken the first day I met him. As you already know, I used to 'service' a few people and pokémon all the before I met you." Chris nodded slowly, feeling a little awkward. "He and his pokémon were some of those few. I thought they were nice at first because they played games with me when I went outside. They said that my mouth was just as good as getting them off as any other cunt and that I was better than most of the more experienced pokémon." Chris wasn't really sure which made him more uncomfortable; the knowledge that she was amazing at pleasing others with her mouth or that she had no problem talking about it so openly.

"Anyway, I thought that they were just another group of soon-to-be regulars. I didn't have too many worries since the work was short and easy, but things started to change."

"What happened?"

"Jason and his pokémon were starting to be more demanding of me, asking me to do things I didn't know or want to do. They didn't want to play with me outside as much as they did before and this was when I've known them for only three weeks. My brother was starting to get worried about me when I told him what was going on. He told mom, and she starting arguing with Chad about it."

"Wait, who's Chad?"

"That's the name of my former trainer. You didn't know?" Chris shook his head. "Oh, I'll tell you more about him later. So after they argued about it, my brother had to go with me when I went to go see them. My brother was always protective of me. He was always nearby to make sure nothing got out of hand and I was thankful for that. I wasn't all that good with saying no because I wanted everyone to keep praising me and to stay happy, but I was just being stupid and making things harder on my brother. He did all the things I couldn't do in my place, which made me feel guilty. He always came back to me saying 'its okay.' or 'I don't mind doing it for you.', but... I'd still feel bad..."

Chris noticed her tone changing when she started talking about her brother. She sounded a lot more somber than before. It was also getting harder for her to keep going with her story. "Do you want to come up on the bed with me?" he asked, knowing that the best thing he could do at the moment was comfort her. The dragon nodded and got on the bed, laying her head on his lap. "Do you want to keep going?" Lani nodded slowly, slightly sighing.

"Things only got worse for us. My brother was so strong and kind. He protected me when they started getting really aggressive. They tried to get me far enough away from him so that he wouldn't trade places with me. Eventually, that weavile got it into his head that he could try to fuck me and got the others in on his plan as well. I haven't done it before and I knew he was going to be rough with me if he ever got that far."

"Did he... ever get that chance?" Chris didn't really mean to ask that. His curiosity had spoken before he could stop it. He immediately regretted it even more when Lani started sniffling.

"N-no... Jason came in the room before he got the chance to try. He heard my brother arguing with the weavile. He knew that no was supposed to go that far with me because of my age and how small I was. Chad told him upfront not to let any of his pokémon go that far, but he didn't care and he noticed how protective my brother was. He came up with the only thing that wouldn't violate his promise with our trainer and still get what they wanted to see." It took Chris a minute to figure out what she meant by that, but when he did, he heart leaped in his throat.

"You... you don't mean..." His suspicions were confirmed with her nodding and wrapping her body around him.

"He told him... to either fuck me... or he'll get a wild pokémon to do it. We couldn't leave because the others were blocking the way out and we definitely couldn't fight them either. I already knew what my brother was thinking and I tried to tell him that I'd be fine, but he said that he'd rather die than know that my first time was to be with anyone as disgustingly perverted and selfish as any of them." Lani was sniffling heavily by now and squeezing almost painfully around Chris' waist.

"Nether of us wanted to do it, but... we did it anyway. It hurt at first like he said it would, but he kept whispering things to me to help make it better for myself. I did everything he told me to do and he didn't rush it. He tried to pull out of me when he felt himself getting close, but he was told to finish inside. He looked at me for the first time since we started and I could see how torn up he was. I never thought that my brother; my strong, kind, protective, brother... could look as helpless as he did. Right before he was done... he said... that he was sorry." She was barely able to get the last part out before she started bawling. "That... hurt me more than anything they could've done to me," she cried.

Chris could do nothing more than hold her as she cried in his lap. This was a lot heavier than anything he could've expected to hear. "Just what kind of life did you have?" he asked himself. That kind of thing can most likely scar anyone for life and she's still moving forward to better herself with that knowledge. There was no doubt that she loved her brother very much and, from what she told him, he loved her just as much. "They don't deserve this." He wondered how Chad could've let this happen to two young pokémon. He grew frustrated and wondered why any of this happened in the first place.

"Am I a... bad girl?" she sniffled. Chris stroked her head.

"No, you're not a bad girl," he replied.

"But... I made my brother cry. He did everything for me and I made him cry. From that day on, I tried to do everything myself so that he doesn't have to worry about me. I acted tough and started talking like them so that they'd back off and wouldn't mess with me. It got to the point where I started acting out all the time and I would get punished for it. That's why I was acting the way I was when we met and why I wanted to get stronger, but I'm still weak..." Chris lifted the sniffling dragon in his arms and held her close to him.

"You're not weak. You're a very strong girl to have been able to put up with that. I'm sure your brother would be proud of you if he could see how much you've grown." Lani nuzzled his neck.

"Thank you. That's nice of you to say..."

"How's about we take a bath to wash away all this sadness?" Lani nodded and was carried into the bathroom. The bath was quiet, both of them reflecting on what was said. Lani kept herself close to Chris for comfort, which he didn't mind. It was the least he could do for her right now.

"Chris... I'm sorry..."

"For what?"

"For yelling at you and swearing a lot. I didn't mean to. I just got mad when I saw his face again."

"That's alright. I didn't know about what happened to you back then and I'm sorry for bringing up bad memories."

After they finished bathing, he brought her on the bed and held her until she fell asleep. It was still a little early in the evening, about 8:23pm, so he wasn't feeling too sleepy right now. His mind was still buzzing with new information. Tora and Aaron came back about ten minutes after the dragon fell asleep. They noticed the somewhat gloomy atmosphere and asked what was wrong. Not wanting to kill their good mood, he said it was nothing and that he might tell them later. With that in mind, the rest of the night went rather smoothly.
