I sat in the window of the activity hall, holding a book in one paw. My blue fur shining in the sunlight, my large, wolf muscles seeming to fit perfectly to the partially see-through shirt I was wearing. I had my tail in my lap so I wouldn't have another incident of a pup stomping on it. I was the most silent of the group of other pups and teenagers in the activity hall of the orphanage I now reside at. I sat far away from the other group of teenagers, ever since they alienated me from their group. Every so often a family or two would stroll through, watching and talking to all the other kids and sometimes even teenagers, except me. I had never been a talker, all I did almost every day felt like clockwork. Sit in the window, grab the book I had been reading, and then read until it was time to leave and avoid as much communication as possible. But today, I had only read for a few minutes, and decided to actually seem adoptable for once.

It was thirty minutes until lunch; I had scanned around the room, my hazel eyes glimmering in the sun rays streaming through the window. I noticed a new family was looking around. A red fox looked around the room, the tuft of hair on his head was multicolored, each strip of hair a different color of the rainbow. He wore a fishnet shirt under his leather jacket that was 3 times too big for him. He was holding onto the arm of a goliath like lion, his mane the color of a morning sun. He was not wearing anything for the cold weather, but it was because he had given his jacket to the fox. I could hear the lions purring from across the room as he wrapped his long tail around the fox while he hugged him back with his god-like arms. Then, behind them was a tiger. He seemed to be a bit chubby, but not overweight. His jade eyes glazed over the room until he set his eyes upon me. I looked back at him and let out a soft smile to him. He began to speed up to meet me; his jacket that he was wearing billowed behind him softly as the patter of his foot pads tapped on the tile floor.

He smiled at me again. "Hi." He said, a bit nervous. The two others stayed back, wanting us to talk together. "Hey there, How are you?" I said myself a bit nervous as well. He sat next to me in the window, his tail flicking back and forth next to mine. "I'm doing well. My name's Danny, and yours?" he replied, smiling a big, toothy grin. I watched his tail flick back and forth like a pendulum, almost being hypnotized by it. I shook myself and snapped out of it. "Rei." I said, smiling back at him. We kept on with our small talk, having a laugh about how the other teenagers are idiots. The fox and lion motioned Danny back to them to leave. I waved bye to him, told him I would see him around, even though I didn't even know if he would be back to talk again or not.
