Hello everyone! I've been one with the furries for a few years now, but this is my very first attempt at writing, well anything. So comments and criticisms would be much appreciated! And don't bother being gentle about it because if it really sucks so much then I need to fix it fast, right? Its marked adult for bad language and possible future smut.

Updates will probably be slow, that is if I get enough support to continue this at all, but with all that said I really do hope y'all enjoy my, probably too short, story!

Much Love,

Watcher15

P.s. anything in this is what Aren is thinking

Its really hard to keep a straight face when you're getting lectured over "trespassing" on school grounds, a school he goes to, by a very over weight bovine woman, who's vast array of chins sway, vibrate, and jiggle in all manners of floppy fat ways. Or at least it is for...

"Aren Joshua Parker!" half yelled the previously mentioned bovine.

"yes, Mrs. Flemmings?" answered the, now, not so amused young bat.

"Are you even paying attention to what I'm telling you!? Trespassing is a serious offense! Your lucky the school decided to handle this ourselves or you could be facing legal charges! It may be the last time you go to this school, but that's no reason for you to throw away your whole future by being labeled a delinquent!"

Wincing inwardly at the mention of his imminent move, then a little bafflement at her attitude. Really? His whole future? And does she really think that it would be that horrible for him to get away from this dump of a school? Aren tried his best to keep the recently found distain from his voice as he replied

"I really truly am just... oh so sorry for my behavior Mrs. Flemmings, I just wanted to see this place one last time before I left." which in all honesty wasn't all that far from the truth. In some twisted way he would still miss this place. Now that he wasn't just staring at mrs. Flemmings numerous chins he could also see the rest of her face, which was mostly white with large black spots blotted on her otherwise pure white fur like someone had pored ink on her for being too annoying. He also noted her would-be pretty brown eyes, if they hadn't been surrounded with an incredibly bright shade of blue eye shadow that only brought more attention to her drooping eyelids and make up encrusted eyelashes that looked like they were so hard and fake that they were going to fall off at any moment.

"Oh honey" said the overweight bovine. Aren growled, but quietly, he didn't want her to hear or his bluff might not work "I know it must be hard for you to have to go like this" lady, Aren thought, you have no idea what you're saying do you? She must have seen something in his expression that seemed to appease her anger, what that was Aren didn't know but he wasn't one to complain.

The righteous anger from before which had been slowly deflating, was now nonexistent in her expression as she said

"It really does sadden me to see one of my own-" her own? I was never yours, thought Aren vehemently " have to go like this." she really does look sad, thought Aren. But why? What is it to her? She only knew my name because she pulled my school files and connected it with all those nasty rumors that had been just flying about town. And why does she keep saying "like this". As if she hadn't taken part in the gossip. Like she wasn't exactly the same as the rest of those bastards.

"I'm afraid I don't know what you mean" Aren finally said aloud after what must have been an uncomfortably long silence on his part. "My father was offered a job and in this economy, with the pay being better we all jumped at it." just keep with the story. At this point making a scene wouldn't solve anything, and the more innocent she thinks you are right now the better.

Mrs. Flemmings looked quite taken aback at his response. Without seeming to think she blurted out

"So you aren't a fag?"

Aren knew it. She's the same as all the others, the ones who drive him away. The fucking fat cow that had dragged him to her office was looking down at her desk in shock.

And why shouldn't she be? Her, and everyone else's favorite little faggot claims innocents? Impossible! Before she could get over her outburst Aren bolted. He left without a sound and was out of the school faster then the cow could process his unexpected reaction.

At the edge of the school grounds Aren slowed. All this was impossible.

How did everyone know?

Mrs. Flemmings was truly shocked at herself and was about to apologize profusely, but never got the chance. Within the few seconds it took her to compose herself and look up, Aren was long gone. She was enraged with herself, why had she said that? She had no problems with gays of any kind, going out of her way to advocate their rights. After all her sister had just recently come to visit with her lover- a tall, very female rabbit. What the hell had made her say such an unthoughtful thing? That wasn't her. She could never say something so callus.

She was about to get up and make the boy see how she really felt when, seemingly out of no where stepped an intimidating wolf.

His species and gender were the only things she made out of him before darkness began to creep across her vision and an overwhelming tiredness seeped into her body. Right before she completely slipped off she could have sworn she heard a deep voice say

"it's better this way...we can keep him safe..."

And notice how it seemed to be more for the wolf's benefit then her own. The blackness took over.

_That bitch.

That Bitch!_

Aren barely took notice of his surroundings as he made his way home from his highschool. Or rather his old highschool. He probably wouldn't be coming back. He had known how she and everyone else thought of him in this god forsaken town, but for someone, especially a teacher from the school, to throw it in his face like that! He could understand that sort of thing, hell he even expected it at this point, at least from the kids and other teenagers. But he had expected more from the adults. Or maybe just hoped. When had things gotten so bad? It was insane! Just a few weeks ago he was normal. A few weeks ago he was as happy as any teen could claim to be! Then it started. The wispers. The rumors. his friends started avoiding him, his teachers started picking at every little mistake he made, looking for excuses to punish him. The rest of the student body called out names. Faggot. Queer. Cock sucker. His life became a living hell. Soon it wasn't just at school but everywhere he went.

How did they know? He'd gone through painstaking lengths to hide it, not even using his computer for anything of the like for fear of being cought. Getting cought had been his worst fear, he had known that it would be like this. Aren's rage quickly turned to depression. His darkest secret had been broadcasted across town and he didn't even know how. When his parents heard they did everything they could to help but...they didn't look at him anymore. Couldn't. His parents planned a move. They were going somewhere new, new and far, far away. It hurt him almost as much as the insults to see his parents like this. Moving away from their perfect home in the perfect town- which had made them ecstatic ever since they had moved in while his mom was pregnant with him. The once happy couple had begun to fight over every little thing. And he knew that they had been happy here. They had everything they ever dreamed of, the older bats used to beam at everyone who walked past, used to be so full of life. But now they were husks of what they had once been. Because of him. If he wasn't...like this...they would still be happy. They would be able to smile like they used t... Aren's thoughts were cut off as he saw that he was back at his house. With a sigh of relief that was again cut short as he looked around. Surprise permeated his dower mood as he looked around and saw that the sky had darkened into almost complete black, not really a problem for him being a bat and all, but after all school was quite a ways from his home. His dark mood banished momentarily with his arrival home Aren jumped the few steps onto his small porch and he opened the door and stepped into his living room.

He imiditely knew something was off. Everything looked, well, normal. And right then things were as far from normal as they could get.

Where are all the boxes? they were all supposed to leave in the morning. All the stuff his parents had sent ahead in the moving trucks was back. All the furniture, even all the pictures and paintings were back on the walls, right where they used to be. What the hell is going on?!

"Aren? Ah...Aren, come in here. We need to talk."

This isn't good. His mom, she didn't... sound right. Not knowing what else to do he walked around the wall into the living room. The odd comfort that seeing his home the way it all ways has been turned from the surprise he still felt to a writhing sick feeling filling his belly with worms and his arms and legs with led. Something was very, very wrong.

"m..mom? W..what's going on?" Aren's question was left hanging in the air like the blade of a guillotine waiting to cut off...something. What, Aren wasn't sure he wanted to know.

"You'll never believe what happened while you were at school!" his mother said, seeming oblivious to the growing horror on her son's face, "a man approached your father and I about a wonderful sounding school!" Aren wasn't sure what he was hearing. What about a school? Hadn't they already confirmed his transfer to the school in the new town? Bakersfield, or something? He could never remember the name.

The worms seemed to writhe their way down his stomach across his body, filling his bones with an unplaceable panic that wouldn't let him keep still.

"What about the new school? All the transcripts? Where are all the moving trucks?! Why isn't anything packed?!" Aren's panic made it's way into his voice, he wasn't quite sure what he was saying any more, and his mother didn't seem to see the fear. She just seemed really excited. Desperately he looked to his father but all he saw there was a blank look. He almost would look bored if his eyes didn't seem so dull, almost doll like. He didn't speak, or look at him for that matter. But his mom on the other paw was giddy with excitement at this point, "That's the best part! It's a boarding school! You can get away from all this silliness" the pit in Aren's stomach dropped further, his mother, the one who had seemingly been the most affected by all of this, losing her vast social life, her good nature, even her general happiness had been striped away from her leaving her worse off then even Aren himself, who had taken the brunt of the so called beating. Calling this silly. "You can come back in the summer and over the breaks when all this nonsense has passed. It's perfect! We even get to keep the house!"

Aren knew his mom had put a lot of herself in this house, but how could she still want to be here? She had been the one to suggest leaving before it had truly become a viable option. But now... She looked so damned happy, like none of the rumors or ridicule had ever happened.

"m..Mom, just..what are you saying?"

His moms smile never faltered, never lost the ecstatic edge that hadn't left her face since Aren had gotten home as she said, "oh dear...do I need to spell it out for you?" gesturing between herself and his father "we're sending you away. We don't want a faggot son living in this house, or ruining this town. Your things have allready been sent there."

This was impossible.

It was wrong.

His parents loved him.

They do, don't they?

Almost like she hadn't just said that his mom smiled like she used to, like she did when he brought home a good grade or when his father brought her flowers and said "And don't forget to write! Remember that mommy will always love y-" she was cut off as a dark shape fell on Aren from behind. Aren was in a state of shock. How could his mom say something like that and then tell him she loved him without even pausing. All his panicked energy seemed to drain out of Aren leaving a dull ache of horror. Tears burned his eyes as he turned to look at the massive wolf now standing behind him. Aren's emotions were completely out of whack as he tried to process his parents apparent abandonment and the loving tone they used for it. Now add in a strange, not to mention huge, wolf standing too close to him. Aren didn't know exactly when they started to but tears were streaming down his face as he was now forced to make eye contact with the wolf, his closeness and size making it a necessity for Aren to look straight up causing a small pain in the back of his neck. His mothers strange silence ended when she said,

"Ah! Aren this is the man we spoke to! He even offered to take you to your new school himself! Tonight no less! How kind, so nice and forthcoming!"

Aren saw the wolf for what he really was now- what was once just an unwelcome stranger was now a makeshift kidnapper. Aren wanted to struggle, to fight against this atrocity but found he couldn't. All the pain he felt prevented him from doing much of anything at all really. Actually Aren for all appearances looked remarkably composed, except for his wet cheeks. His hands didn't shake even though he knew that he wouldn't be able to hold anything in them, his legs were steady when he turned and they didn't quiver even though they felt like they were about to give way under him, his face showed no emotion other then slight surprise at seeing a strange wolf in his house, but his eyes, his eyes showed everything he felt as well as it would if he really were screaming and crying on the floor.

The wolf almost flinched when his eyes met Aren's but years of hiding that sort of reaction suppressed it, barely. He had thought the boy was taking this almost too well but now he was more worried if he really had gone too far this time. The wolf spoke, "My name is Garret and you will be coming with me tonight." it wasn't a question or even an order, just a statement, a simple observation.

Aren nodded.
