Chapter 10

"Garret, what the hell happened to you?!" He looked really scared, "Well I was at school yesterday and they called me down to the office saying my parents were here to pick me up early so I packed all my stuff and headed down to the office and what I saw terrified me," I listened, wanting to know more of what lead to his capture and transformation, "Everyone in the office was on the ground and unconscious, but what really scared me was when I saw two men in black suits and sunglasses, one of them was holding a gun to the lady at the front desk and one of the men said, 'Come with us, unless you want to be responsible for this woman's death.' He lifted it up to her head and she started crying, I panicked and answered him, 'Okay, okay I'll come with you, just don't kill her please, she hasn't done anything wrong.' He gave me an evil grin, 'Good choice.' They grabbed my arms and took me away to their black van."

I growled angrily, "They're taking children now? How low will these guys go?" Garret was a little surprised at how upset I was over this but he still continued, "They knocked me out when we got in the van and when I woke up, I was on some table binded to it. It was horrible, I saw all these needles, scalpels, everything you see doctors use in a hospital and much more, but the thing that scared me the most when I woke up was that I was a tiger, and the rest you already know."

I looked over at Nathan, "Great, Nathan's going to end up killing those two men if he ever sees them." Garret looked at him and asked, "What happened to him?"

I rubbed the back of my neck still frustrated about their absolute control over us, "He got in a fight and that bastard Rex shocked him with his collar." I was growling at the reality of Rex's hold on us, 'First chance I get, I'm going to kick his ass.'

I thought to myself but I was interrupted by Garret, "How could you let them do that to him? You always defend Nathan." I sighed and answered, "I know... this was different from a school fight though, it was out of my power and Rex has control over all the collars." He looked disappointed in me, I know I'm supposed to defend him but what could I have done? Walk up to Rex and try to fight him only to get shocked in the end.

"Gabe, do you think we'll ever get out of here?" I looked at Garret and gave him a reassuring smile, "I'm working on it G but we can't do it alone. We need help." He let out a sigh of relief, "Good, I'll help in any way I can." Nathan started to move, he sat up and groaned, "Ah man that hurt! How were you still conscious when Rex shocked you?" I shrugged and said, "I don't know... I guess I just refused to let Rex have that satisfaction."

He nodded and looked at the Bengal tiger, "Who's the new guy?" I tried to answer but Garret blurted out, "I'm Garret!!! They kidnapped me from school Nathan." He stood there with a horrified look on his face, "G-Garret? How the hell could they kidnap you!!! I swear if I get the chance I will tear them apart!!" He clenched his fists and exhaled fire from his nostrils, he looked pissed.

We were interrupted when Rex announced in a booming voice, "Lights out freaks!!!" He started walking down the line of cells, when he passed ours, I thought Nathan was going to break through the barrier and tear Rex's head off, "HEY! You listen here you bastard, if I ever get the chance to kick your ass, don't think I won't take it because I will end you!!! You hurt my little brother, Garret!" I was shocked, I have never seen this side of Nathan before.

He was shaking with rage but Rex didn't seem to notice, "Hmm... Garret, Garret? Oh you mean the new kid we captured and experimented on, yeah I know him, but it's too bad I know he's your brother because now I can use him to get whatever I want from you." He pointed the remote at Garret, "You wouldn't dare!" Rex grinned and answered coldly, "try me."

He pressed the button and Garret panicked, "Nathan? What is he- AHHHHH!!!" Nathan was angrier than before as Rex electrocuted his little brother, "Stop Rex!!! Punish me, he hasn't done anything wrong." Everyone else was watching in fear from their cells.

"But what would be the fun in that? Another freak fears me and you get to watch helplessly as your brother suffers." I couldn't believe how cruel Rex was, I was so angry at him and the fact that I couldn't do anything made me angrier, "Rex he's had enough, let him go."

Garret was screaming louder than before, "You think I'm going to listen to you mutt? No, I have the power and I can use it as I see fit." He lifted his finger from the button and Garret fell to the ground shaking, "I'm bored torturing him anyway, now lights out freaks." He walked out of the cell block and the lights were shut off.

Nathan whispered, "Garret? Garret are you okay?" Garret groaned, "Nooo..." I let out a deep throated growl, "Nathan, we're getting out of this hell hole, but we need to form a group that has me, you, Nate, Hannah, Garret, Luke, Sammy, and that cheetah but I need to talk to him first. I don't even know his name." He answered in a whisper, "I'm in but do you have a plan?"

I sat down on the floor and answered, "I'm working on it, but there are things I need to know like guard shifts and the plan won't work unless we can get rid of these collars," I lied back on the floor, "Nathan we should get some rest so go to sleep."

I rolled onto my side and heard him crawl onto the metal bench, "Hey Gabe?" My ears perked up, "Yeah?", "What do you think will happen to us if we get caught?" I let out a heavy sigh, "You don't have to worry about it because we won't get caught. I won't let you guys get caught even if it means I have to give myself up so you can get away. Now go to sleep." I rolled onto my other side and closed my eyes, drifting off into a deep sleep.

Nathan's POV

I couldn't sleep well, the bench was uncomfortable and I could hear faint screams from the upper floors, but that wasn't what kept me awake. I had too many things on my mind, 'What if Gabe is wrong and we do get caught? What will happen to Gabe and everyone else? What would Rex to do Garret, i don't think I could live with myself if I let anything else happen to him, he is my little brother and my responsibility. And what if we can't get the people Gabe said we need? Will we follow through with the escape plan without them? No, no I just have to think positive, I know Gabe wouldn't do this if he knew we would get caught. If anyone should get us out, it's Gabe.'

I took a deep breath and exhaled fire from my nose, I looked over and saw Gabe moving around restlessly, 'He must have a lot on his mind too.' I looked over at Garret and saw him start to get up, "Go to sleep G, you need rest." he shook his head, "Nathan? Do you think Gabe can help us escape and get us home?"

I looked at him and answered, "I believe he can, I just hope he's thought his plan through and thought of all the possible outcomes. Now go to sleep G, now!" He grumbled as he got onto his bench and fell into a deep sleep. I smiled and layed back onto my bench trying to fall asleep but I couldn't, so I rolled onto my back and stared at the ceiling.

Gabe's POV

** ** I was standing in a big empty space that was completely black, "Oh no, not another one of these dreams." I started walking forward until I heard a loud and evil laughter, I looked around but I couldn't see anyone, "Who are you and why are you laughing?" suddenly Rex appeared, "You failed mutt, your escape plan didn't work and now your friends get to suffer."

All my friends appeared in their cells with terrified looks on their faces. When they looked at me, they gave a disappointed look and simultaneously said, "You said we'd be fine Gabe, that we wouldn't get caught." I looked at all of them, "No.. I didn't, I..." they all said, "You promised we'd be fine, help us."

Rex started laughing, "Yes, help them mutt, save them from a lifetime of painful experiments and brutal punishments." I growled at him, "Shut the hell up!!!" He lifted the remote up and flipped the switch that set their collars off, "NO!!! Stop Rex, they're innocent, let me take their place, I will take all the punishments and experiments you would give them, just let them go!!!"

He laughed harder, "Oh but this is your punishment, you get to stand by helplessly watching your friends suffer." He laughed evily and started growing larger and larger, "This is what happens when you step out of line."

He slowly lifted his foot and went in to stomp me, "NO, NO, NO!!!"

Hey everyone, sorry this took so long but I was on break and I had little motivation to write but I finally finished and I'm proud of it. I own all the rights to my own characters which include Nathan, Garret, Gabe, Nate, Sammy, Hannah, Luke and Connor.
