Drake wasn't your average vampire. For starters he had a normal roommate. The fact that he had a roommate was surprising. Most vampires being solitary in nature unless when they had pets. Still, his roommate was normal. He lived in a near normal apartment building in a near normal neighborhood. The only difference was that his room had huge heavy blinds for the day and the fact that he went out only at night for school and such. In fact, he thought his whole life was normal. If only he knew how wrong he was.

Yep Risuke was the normal one. As normal as a twacked out college student grey wolf could be anyway. Yeah so his roommate had a few odd habits... who cares? But yeah, he was just average - as average as could be. But, like anyone else, he had his deep secrets, but no one had to know those. The only thing semi odd about him was that compared to the short grey fur covering his body, his almost jet black ears stood out enormously.

Drake yawned as he rolled over onto his side in his huge bed. He didn't sleep in a coffin unless truly necessary. The sun light part of being a vampire was right. Well... to a point. He would certainly burn pretty badly, 3rd degree to be exact, that is, if he was in it too long. Die? Probably not, as long as he was moved out of the sun. But the burns could eventually kill him if they got passed his ability to regenerate. Stake through the heart? Well anyone would die if that happened. Garlic? Most definitely not. Drake loved Garlic Bread actually. Crosses or Holy Water? Nope. Quite the contrary. In fact, he even wore a cross around his neck.

Still, even after knowing all this, he was alone. Very alone, even with his roommate just down the hall from him.

"Risuke, sitting on the kitchen table of the apartment, scratched his head tiredly a he read the papers clutched in his grey paws" The fact that he had to click on the light in the kitchen alerted him that the sun was going down. His tail swayed lightly over the surface of the table as he thought idly that Drake would be getting up soon.

Drake rolled to his other side, obviously not wanting to wake up. Still, he knew he had to soon enough. One thing came to his mind when he began to wake up and that was what some girls had said about him at school the other day. "You know, he has never had a pet, girlfriend or a boyfriend." One of them said. "Oh really? That is so unlike a vampire." Another replied. They all nodded as Drake got out of ear shot. It was just things he never considered or even cared for. Looking down at his pillow though as he was getting up, he felt as empty as the large bed felt.

Spreading out on the table Risuke laid back lazily as he read. So it wasn't the best manners, it was his damn place, well along with Drakes. He groaned a bit as he dropped the papers and pulled out his cell phone when the piercing polyphonic alerted him to a voice mail. He grudgingly put it to his ear as he accessed the voice box closing his eyes putting a paw over his face.

Drake got up throwing the sheets off his naked body as he grabbed some clothes and went to shower. Feeling refreshed and combing his hair, which was white and cut short, he finished and came out into the kitchen. The Dragon, noticing Risuke was on the phone, didn't say anything as he entered.

A bit after he had heard Drake enter, Risuke hung up with a groan. He sat up and focused his green eyes lazily on the dragon. "Why do girls never seem to get the message when you tell them you're not interested?" He asked, not really expecting more than a shrug from his roommate. The voice mail had been another girl wanting to go out.

Drake shrugged as a response to Risuke. He had made himself a bowl of cereal and was slowly eating while the spoon was magically feeding him. He knew that by now Risuke was used to his use of magic so he used it freely when he could. With his hands free he had picked up the paper on the counter and was reading it.

Just because he was used to it didn't mean that every night Risuke didn't watch, trying to find the hidden strings and mirrors. After a bit of watching the spoon, he went back to his reading of his school work. He wiggled his foot paws lazily off the edge of the table for awhile before looking to his roommate. "Anything interesting today? I didn't get a chance to read it" He told him, referring to the paper the other had picked up.

Drake shrugged again. "Not really. Just the same old talk about wars in other parts of the world. That kind of thing." Don't get the idea that Drake was antisocial. He wouldn't be good friends with Risuke if that were the case. He knew Risuke for a very long time, which would explain why they were roommates. He was just more quiet then most is all.

Risuke sighed. "Oh well, Peace doesn't come from one peace rally." he commented. The wolf personally thought all this fighting in the world was ridiculous. But to each their own, really. "So anything new in school?" He asked. He asked every once in awhile since they didn't go to the same school.

Drake just grinned a bit knowing Risuke was wondering what his paranormal school was like. "Pretty much normal like yours." Was his reply as he was just playing with Risuke. He chuckled a bit. "Just some new spells to learn really followed by study of other historical paranormal figures. Odd how many of the normal events in history has had something paranormal behind it." That was kind of his major, paranormal history.

Risuke smirked "YEa real normal." He commented. "MY school doesn't have spells and magic flying around, With who knows what else." He told him grinning lightly his ears twitching excitedly. "SO who's the figure of the week this time?" he asked.

Drake chuckled. "Well you do know you could just take the paranormal tests to see if you have any magic in you." He was both being serious and kidding with Risuke on this as he had seen Risuke look at his spell books before completely lost. "Just some German Witch who apparently lead to the rise of Nazism." He replied to the last statement.

Risuke nodded. "Yea, like there's an ounce of magic in these paws." He said chuckling. "Nazism? Wow, The old History teacher never mentioned any witches." He commented grinning.

Drake shrugged. "Just goes to show how much your government likes to cover up the truth. I mean you thought Hitler was bad. She was worse." He replied. "Especially seeing as she was the one behind him." Drake finished his cereal and noticed a black envelope addressed to him on the counter. He picked it up and then noticed the time. "I need to get going." he said quickly grabbing his bags and out the door he went not even bothering to open the letter yet.

Risuke listened intently and the blinked when the other ran out quite suddenly. His eyes immediately fell onto the letter his ears twitching with his curiosity. He slid off the table and walked over to the counter and picked up the letter eyeing it curiously... Drake wouldn't mind if he opened it, right?

Drake caught the late night bus in time dropping him off in of all places near a cemetery. Walking into it he walked through an illusion wall to a set of stairs leading to the school he went to. Sighing he had no idea that the letter he left behind was going to change both his and his roommates life forever.

Risuke continued to eye the letter for awhile. Soon enough his curiosity got the better of him and he dragged a claw tip along one side tearing it open and pulled out a cream colored letter with black written letters explaining how Drake was going to be watched as living with a normal being was against certain laws and they were trying to figure out if Risuke was his pet. Risuke ran his eyes over the paper several times. 'pet? Drake never said anything about not really being allowed to live with me....' HE thought lazily. He sighed putting the letter back in the envelope. 'Oh well, Drake will figure it out' He said and started to wander lazily off towards his bedroom and bed.

Drake couldn't shake off the feeling all night that he was being watched or at least something huge had happened. The nice thing about night courses was that they were surprisingly short. Bad part was the homework. Grudgingly he walked through the apartment door early in the morning before the sun came up noticing the letter opened on counter. Walking over a bit annoyed with Risuke for opening it, he looked at it. His eyes nearly popped out of their sockets as he screamed nearly fainting from what the letter said.

Risuke was torn from his quiet sleep at the scream and tore the sheets from his fur clad body and ran out to the kitchen. "Drake?" He asked panting glancing around the room looking for the cause of the scream.

Drake was standing there not even responding to Risuke's question of him being alright. His hands were shacking with the letter in them as his face was paler then usual. Almost dead-like.

Risuke walked over to place a paw gently on The others shoulder. "Drake?" HE asked again, He eyed the letter, not really contemplating the big deal of the letter.

It took a while for Drake to comprehend anything other then his and his roommates lives about to end. He nearly fell when he finally came to holding onto to Risuke for support. "Did......... did you read this?" he asked slowly moving to sit down at the table.

Risuke nodded slowly. "Yea...." He told him. "You left so quickly, And I figured you wouldn't mind." He told him helping the other to the table. His tail and ears where twitching nervously now.

Drake looked up at Risuke noticing how the wolf looked like he didn't know what was going on. "I would sit down for this if I was you Risuke. I can tell you don't understand what is going on here."

Risuke cocked an eyebrow and sat down looking at drake. "Ok..." He said nervously. Drake sighed putting the letter down finally. "Do you know what a "pet" is? I mean when it is applied to a vampire and another person."

Risuke nodded hesitantly. "Well I've heard its sort of like a slave servant type thing." He told him, but the look on his face said he wasn't quite sure, when it was applied to a vampire.

Drake nodded. "Some what. A pet can be a slave or a servant, but ultimately a pet is a sexual servant of a vampire. Not a mate really, but someone who has been pseudo-turned by a vampire to be their entertainment or servant in that capacity." He paused for a bit to let it settle into Risuke. "The Council thinks your mine, my pet I mean."

Risuke leaned back in his chair as he listened. "Ok and since I'm not actually your pet?...." He cocked an eyebrow looking at him. "I'm getting the drift that this is bad..." He added.

Drake nodded to Risuke's statement. "Very bad actually." He sighed. "I better start in the beginning, so you understand better. For starters according to the Council I'm not suppose to be staying with anyone who is normal. In fact it is one of the laws. Thus they want to come by and check up on things to see if you are in fact my pet, which as you pointed out you are not." He sighed again looking down at his claws. "A pet is someone who has been turned into a vampire-like servant by a vampire to both have a servant and a sex toy of sorts. The pet will do anything the vampire desires because they have very little free will. Of course they have free will, but when the vampire commands the pet to do something they will. Often this involves something sexual in nature as that is the difference between a pet and a servant."

Risuke nodded slowly after listening to the other. The wolf licked his lips lightly. "And if they figure out I'm not your pet?..." He asked letting it hang.

Drake looked up and then down again. "I'll be arrested and thrown into prison for exposing someone who isn't paranormal to the paranormal world. Further more..... they .... they would kill you." He said that last part with such reluctance because he knew it would scare Risuke

Risuke listened intently his ears perking forward at the others hesitance. He blinked and since he was already leaning back in his chair, The further instinctive movement back sent the Chair tumbling over, with Risuke in it. The wolf went crashing to the floor in a tangle of limbs.

Drake shot up. "You ok Risuke?" he asked. He just stood there though as he knew he was probably the last person Risuke wanted to see or talk to at that moment.

Grumbling and groaning in a little pain, he extricated himself from the chair and stood. Brushing himself off and smoothing his fur, he looked at Drake. "You knew this before we moved in together?" He asked trying to stay calm, but his voice betrayed that he was anything but.

Drake shook his head. "No not really. I've only been a vampire for over a year now. So many things are new to me. If it wasn't for that report on them that I did a while back I wouldn't know half of this stuff." Drake gave an innocent grin and then looked down. "I'm sorry to involve you in this. I know it doesn't mean much, but I do." He looked at the letter. "I didn't know about this law about staying with those who aren't paranormal before. It is very harsh."

Risuke gulped and nodded. "Well you didn't know." HE said softly. "Its not really your fault." He murmured, his green eyes shifting to the floor.

Drake kept looking down. "If I knew I would never had moved in with you. Apparently keeping my world separate from yours is a big thing." He sighed. "The question now is how do we get out of this?"

Risuke hummer thoughtfully. "Well I cant just leave, Cus that'll prove what they're looking for..." He commented. "Since they know I'm living with you, The only way we could not get arrested...." He gulped. "Or killed... Is to make them think I'm your pet... I don't see any other option..." He said softly. He turned walking to the bathroom to get a robe to cover himself.

Drake nodded. "It involves a lot more then you think." he replied. He followed Risuke and stood out in the hallway. "In fact it may involve me biting you which is something I don't want to do."

"Yea, sorry, I know I'm into the whole rough sex thing, but getting bitten by a vampire wasn't on the agenda." He joked trying to cover how nervous he was as he wrapped a robe around his furry body.

Drake nodded and chuckled lightly to that. "Yeah. Which means this is going to involve some serious acting on your part. No one would see the bite marks on a pet anyways." He shrugged. "I won't be asking you to do anything sexual, but how are you into ..... into switching schools?"

Risuke blinked. "uh..." He chewed his bottom lip. "I guess in dire circumstances, extreme measures are necessary." He commented nodding. "Yea, If it means keeping alive."

Drake nodded. "Yeah I guess. It is going to involve a lot of changes." he sighed. "I'm too tired right now to get into all of it." He gave a yawn. "But lets say it will involve a lot. In fact I would recommend you don't go to school or out today because who knows who is watching us now."

Risuke nodded. "Well, Mr. vampire. You woke me up." He told him. "I still got sleeping to do." He told him chuckling as he left the bathroom. "So Ill just turn off my alarm and sleep through the day."

Drake nodded yawning as he stumbled towards his room. He then stopped when he got to the door. "You know this may involve sleeping in the same bed." He said out of the blue before yawning again. "It all depends on if they want to see the apartment."

Risuke shrugged reaching his own bedroom door. "You're cute, Ill deal." He told him flashing him a grin before pushing the door open and disappearing into his room. Flopping on the bed, his mind was racing a mile a minute on what was happening.

Drake didn't know what to take from Risuke's cute comment. It was kind of typical Risuke, but at that moment he didn't know really. He was just too tired though to think about it as he pulled off all his clothes and climbed into bed not noticing he actually had a semi from seeing Risuke in the stat he was in. He really was that tired.

Risuke yanked off his robe and tossed it aside revealing exactly why he had walked away and put the robe on in the first place. All the talk of being a sexual servant to someone had turned him on a bit and his own slick canine member was partially revealed from its furry sheath. He groaned lightly getting comfortable and trying to get back to sleep, He was so tired, he didn't even want to jack at the moment.

Drake was back to sleep in his large empty bed. His mind though wouldn't let him sleep that much. It was going over everything that had happened. He rolled around a couple times before he could finally get some sleep.

Risuke was asleep soundly though his own mind kept him busy with dreams of being a pet to someone, Mainly Drake. He had no idea why the idea intrigued him so much, He had always entertained ideas of it.

Drake was finally out like a light. With the sun up he was instinctively exhausted and wouldn't begin to wake until right when it went down. Still his tail seemed to whack from side to side as his dreams went on about things he had never considered before.
