#7 of Snow Bunny

Six adolescent wolf demons came walking up the hill. One of them was crawling on the snow, dark grey hair falling over his eyes. His head moved slightly as he sniffed, tracking something.

But out of the rest five was one who stood out most to Liolyn's spying eyes. It was the pure white hair and gently tanned skin that immediately caught the cat's attention.

Moku.

Liolyn's eyes flashed up to look at the other demon that was hiding. Kadell's eyes weren't leaving the center wolf demon. Liolyn followed his stare to the boy. Liolyn immediately labeled the white, silver tipped hair wolf as the leader of the little party by the way the others were standing around him.

One of the boys standing to his right whispered. "Do you really think there's a cat demon out here, Derek?"

The leader, Derek, growled. "Don't even begin to question me, Ludus. I heard grandfather talking about it with some of the others. There's a cat wondering the mountains. Isn't there, Barex?"

Barex, the one tracking, sat up to sniff the wind. "Well, there's something out here. I can smell it. I just don't know what it is."

"And because we've never met a cat demon that mysterious scent could very well be the cat."

Moku stopped walking, rubbing his arm nervously. "Let's go back."

They stopped and Derek growled. "And why should we do that?"

"Because we're in Kadell's territory. He'll be mad if he finds us here."

"No, we are in the wolf demon's territory. Kadell has no claim to this land."

Moku looked pleadingly up at the taller boy. "But he'll kill us if he finds us here. He's claimed these lands as his own and he's attacked trespassers before."

Derek smirked and came up to the scared pup. "But that's why you're here, Moku. So he won't hurt us. If we give him your body he'll let us pass."

Moku blushed with embarrassment. "But-"

"Come on. Up front with me, pussy boy." He smacked the smaller wolf on the rear, making Moku jump and yelp.

Liolyn's eyes went to Kadell and he saw the wolf's lip curl back to reveal long, pointed fangs. Liolyn growled silently with jealousy and went back to watching the approaching wolves.

Barex was moving a little faster on the ground, smelling more furiously until he reached the caved in crater that Liolyn and Kadell had formed only minutes before. He snorted as if to get the smell out of his nose and shook his head, bringing it up. He sniffed experimentally, getting closer to the ground before his brown eyes rolled into the back of his head and he shivered.

He started to roll into the messed up snow, raising a powder cloud.

The other boys came to halt as they watched the other rolling in the snow, his body no longer visible in the cloud. When the snow was settled, Barex was buried in it before he burst out, shaking powder out of his hair.

Ludus looked at him strangely. "Okaaaay... what was that?"

"Mmm... sex..."

"No way!" Derek pushed his way to the front and collapsed on the ground, sniffing the snow. "Holy crap! It is!" He smiled. "Sweet!" He began to roll in the snow also.

Liolyn raised a brow as the boys began to roll in the residue of his and Kadell's hump fest. He looked up at Kadell to see the wolf cover his eyes with his hand. Liolyn could catch the blush all the way from his hiding place.

Moku groaned and shook his head disapprovingly as the boys began to fight over it and dig deeper, discovering that the deeper they went the more prominent the smell. "You guys, can we please move on? Who knows what you're rolling in." He smirked. "Five bucks says it's semen."

There was a pause as the snow settled before loud yelps of disgust and a rush to get whatever snow there was off of them. Moku giggled before something caught his interest. He fell on all fours and sniffed the snow experimentally.

"Eew! Moku! You said it yourself! Who knows what you're smelling." Ludus said.

Derek smirked. "Yeah he does. And that's why he's smelling it."

Moku growled. "Shut up, Derek! I just thought it was weird that I don't smell any female."

Barex was still laying in the snow, sprawled, his sensitive nose catching the overwhelming scent. "That may be because of the length. After a while the scents mingle together and all you get is the musk. Mmm... musk..."

Moku sat up. "True..."

Derek bared his fangs in a toothy grin. "Disappointed?"

"No!"

"I bet you were half wishing it was your wet dream, Kadell."

"Shut up, Derek!"

"You're not denying it."

"Just leave me alone."

"Come on, Moku. We all know you would get on all fours for the bastard."

Moku snapped back. "Just like you would, you inbred mutt."

There was a hush. "What was that?"

Moku was as still as a rabbit sensing danger. He slowly turned to face Derek so that he couldn't be attacked from behind. "I-I'm sorry, Derek. I didn't mean it. I was angry."

Moku crawled backwards, getting closer to the ground in submission as Derek advanced. "You little man whore bitch. Who do you think you are?"

Moku whimpered. "I'm sorry."

"That's not good enough."

Moku yelped as Derek pounced. Snow rose up as the boys fought, whimpers and yelps of pain filling the air. Liolyn could catch the coppery scent of blood and wanted to help the pup.

Derek snarled as he raised the bleeding boy up by the neck and punched him back on the ground. He was straddling the beaten wolf and he growled. "You know grandfather used to tell me the old way they took care of defiant pups like you. He said it was very effective. Shall we try?"

Moku's eyes snapped open and he tried to scramble up from under the wolf. Derek grabbed him and pinning him down but couldn't get a good hold of the yelping boy. He growled as Moku squirmed even more, clawing at the ground.

All the sudden the pup got extremely still. Derek sensed the tension in the boy before Moku gave a small squeak and started to scramble back, pushing Derek down and was practically in the other boy's lap. Derek growled, confused, before grabbing the boy and holding him still against his body.

"What are you-? Moku! Calm dowwwwwnn oh fuck."

The other boys followed their leader's stare and gasped.

Before them stood a tanned demon, multi colored tail swishing back and forth. Tips of fur rimmed ears glowed from the setting sun behind him. They could see the outline of strong muscles and white claws. They couldn't clearly see the cat's face beside those glowing gold eyes that stared at them. The rest of the demon remained unclear but they could hear the deep rumble of a growl.

The boys went completely still as the sun sunk lower. The only movement was the cat's tail that was picking up snow with every flick.

Moku's back was pressing harder against Derek's chest as the wolf pup tried to bolt but Derek's arm was wrapped around his stomach, holding him there. Derek was in so much of a shock that he couldn't even think. He trembled slightly, claws flexing out of instinct.

Liolyn's cool golden stare slid over each wolf. He waited for them to make the first move.

Ludus slowly lowered himself to the ground to whisper into Derek's ear. "Let's run, Derek. Quickly."

Derek didn't speak.

Another one slowly lowered also and whispered. "No, we can't out run a cat demon. They're too fast. We'd get killed in no time."

"But we can't stay here, Ethan! It hasn't attacked yet. It might be as surprised as we are."

"Or he's waiting for us to run first. I heard that you can't outrun a cat unless it charges first."

Kadell raised a brow. Smart boy.

"We're in Kadell's territory." Moku whispered, pressing harder against Derek, his heels digging into the snow. "He should be steps behind the cat. He would know if a cat demon was in his territory."

Derek hissed back. "Stop talking about Kadell!" Sharp claws sliced into Moku's ribs, causing him to yelp.

The cat hissed, sharp canines showing. He went down slightly in a defensive position, one clawed hand drawn back.

The wolves had flinched back about a foot.

Ludus whimpered softly. "Let's go, Derek. We can get the others."

Derek growled, eyes narrowing in rage at the cat demon.

Liolyn cocked his head to the side as pin points of silver appeared in the gray irises. His eyes flashed up to where Kadell was glaring murderously at him. There was the same glowing silver.

The wolf mouthed. "Get the fuck up here NOW."

Liolyn's eyes went back to the pups and he could have sworn he heard the silent roar of anger from his lover.

Barex hissed. "Let's get the fuck out of here!"

"No."

"Derek!"

Derek snarled and the entire group, including their fearless leader, flinched back as the cat demon snarled back. Somehow when Liolyn did it, it had a whole new level to danger to it.

Derek felt Moku's hands close around the leather of his pants, gripping it. The boy gave a soft whimper. "Derek..."

Gray eyes flashed down at the white haired boy and saw fear written all over his face. He slowly slid his claws out of the boy's bleeding side and rubbed his ribs comfortingly with his thumb. His thigh slid to the side and nudged the boy in a substitution for a nuzzle.

Blue eyes looked up at him and Derek gave him a small smile. He hooked his leg with Moku's and pulled, signaling for Moku to get behind him.

Derek slowly stood, glaring at the cat as Moku slid behind the taller boy. There was silence as the wolf pup and the full grown cat stared each other down.

Barex looked from the cat to Derek to the cat and back to Derek. "Well?"

"I don't know. I didn't think this far ahead."

"Derek! You idiot!"

In a flash the cat was gone and snow showered over them. They raised their arms to block the white powder. When they lowered them again, they discovered Derek face to face with the much taller cat.

The wolves looked wide eyes at Liolyn.

There was low growl from the cat demon and the wolves seemed to shrink back. They stood completely frozen with fear, especially Derek, as Liolyn leaned closer to him.

Derek's skin almost crawled with terror as Liolyn slowly leaned his head down, his lips curled back to reveal fangs. Grey eyes shut tightly as Liolyn's head became level with his neck. The cat's face was touching his hair.

Liolyn sniffed, his nose nuzzling the white and silver hair. The scent was similar yet far from Kadell's. It had the same underlining tone but besides that, completely different.

His curiosity finally satisfied, he raised his head and took a step away from the boy. The boy was so terrified that he was trembling, one eye cracking open before both looked up at him wide. The rest didn't look far from the same.

Liolyn roared and the wolves yelped, clamoring over each other to run away as fast as they could.

Liolyn snickered, congratulating himself for scaring the shit out a group of pups, when something smacked him hard over the head.

"OW! Kadell!"

"YOU IDIOT!"

Liolyn scrambled back, wide eyed.

"Do you know what you did?" an enraged Kadell roared. "They know that you're here! They know that you're in my territory! Derek knows you're here!"

"Soooooo..."

"He will tell his bastard grandfather who will fucking hunt you down because you can bet that he'll blame all injuries on you!"

"Oh."

A vein pulsed in Kadell's forehead. "That's it? 'Oh'?"

Liolyn straightened, brushing off the snow. "Well, what do you want me to do about it now?"

Kadell growled.

"Look. I'm sorry. They were bugging you and they needed to go. I couldn't really stand by and watch that jerk off beat the snot out of the little white one. Moku's too cute to be messed up."

Kadell rolled his eyes.

"And besides. I hate lovers' quarrels. They're so stupid, especially this one."

Kadell froze. He arched a brow. "Lovers?"

"Well, yeah. It's kind of obvious. The jerk off so wants Moku. He was teasing him about sexual things and he was so jealous when the kid started to talk about you. And the way he was clutching him and soothing him when he was frightened. It was cute but so cliché. Huh. I wonder if the kid has any idea."

Kadell was very still. His eyes were unfocused as he was putting things together.

"Hey, love. Who was-what's his name? Dark or what ever."

"Derek?"

"Yeah. His hair is tipped like yours and his scent is faintly similar."

"He was my nephew."

Liolyn froze. "Really?"

"Yeah."

"Really."

"...Yes."

"Huh."

"What?"

"Is this from the sister I've hear so much about?"

"No. This is from my younger half brother. He died a couple of years ago."

"The grandfather?"

"His mother's father. That's why Moku called his an 'inbred mutt'. His mother is related. It's distant, but the blood is there." Kadell clenched his fists. "That bastard Raklyn thinks he's a direct descendent but he's so far from the blood line that even his eyes don't completely turn silver. He thinks he controls everything."

"Huh."

The sun fully set and they were draped in a dark haze. Liolyn looked up at the dark sky and only saw clouds. He missed the stars.

His eyes went back to the wolf demon and he smirked.

Kadell didn't flinch as the cat wrapped his arms around his waist. Liolyn took this as a sign of progress and nuzzled him. "Hey Kahdahl..."

Kadell moaned and let his head drop back onto the cat. "Yes?"

"I won."

"What?"

"You didn't pin me. You didn't even completely capture me. So, I won."

Kadell's eyes snapped open.

"This is going to be so much fun."
