The Best Retainer

Story by Vincent Wolfe on SoFurry

As the sun's last rays dipped below the horizon Vincent sat in front of the oscillating fan trying to cool off. It had been a hot summer, even by Floridian standards and the promise of night fall was something the black wolf could appreciate.

He cleared his throat gazing out the window as he sipped the last drops of bourbon from his glass and set it on the table before wiping the sweat from his brow. His eyes drifted across the rather sparse apartment to the six inch black and white screen TV then over to the kitchen with the fifteen year old fridge that he was convinced was on permanent defrost mode. It figured nothing in that apartment worked the way it should, but very little had since he'd moved to Florida.

Two months back he'd passed the bar and in his mind was on his way to big cases, contract negotiations, and wills. Unfortunately, the area was crawling with lawyers who had thought the exact same thing and were working for bigger firms and in turn the vast majority of the clients. As things stood the black wolf was barely getting by and had twice had to use the fire escape to avoid the landlady and her demands for back rent.

Vincent sighed as he stood up walking into the kitchen and grabbing his wallet. He opened it and smiled weakly looking at its contents: twenty dollars, a driver's license, on business card, and an Indian head penny. "Well, guys," he said addressing the money in his wallet, "I'm not going to sit around here all night. You two may not be with me when I'm back but, I'll go nuts if I stay cooped up here."

With that Vincent tucked his wallet into his khakis. He then walked to the bathroom, not bothering to turn the light on turned on some cold water sticking his head under the tap before leaning back and combing his dark brown hair. After this he grabbed what turned out to be a white linen shirt, and hastily pulling it over his fairly well chiseled torso before slipping on some shoes and heading down stairs.

The black wolf hastily exited the building making sure to get enough of a head start on his landlady incase she wanted to waylay him from what would hopefully be a nice night out. As he his building he thought he heard someone calling his name from behind. Not looking back he ran across the street to the parking lot, keys in hand, as he ran to the black Delta 88 that had seen better days.

In an instant he flung the door open slid in and slammed it shut. He turned the key in the ignition looking up to see his landlady running as fast as her middle aged legs could carry her. After the second crank the engine turned over with a thunderous roar and Vincent exited the parking lot just avoiding his cursing landlady before heading left to the only place his money was still good at anymore a little tiki themed bar near the beach, called Kailua Joe's.

The drive there was calming as the night wind whipped through the windows of the large rust stained car. He turned on the radio but only got static leaving him to hum along to a version of Margaritaville in his head. By the time he reached the bar he'd moved on to the Rolling Stones muttering the song Shattered as he parked the car. Kailua Joe's was the kind of place that might have been popular in the 1950s. The bizarre mixture of tropical greens and pinks were enough to make most folks a bit queasy. Across from the bar a poorly painted view of the ocean sprawled across a concrete wall. The parts that weren't concrete were covered in bamboo and the occasional painted mask. Vincent however, wasn't there for the decor he was there for the drinks and Kailua Joe's had cheap ones.

"Hey Mickey," called Vincent to an overweight, middle aged rat.

The bartender came over, "Vincent, still trying to be a lawyer huh?"

"Haven't given up yet, though my wallet and landlady wish I would."

"Speaking of your landlady, you know she called down here. She said that if you don't come up with five hundred bucks in two days she's going to toss you out."

Vincent smiled cynically, "Ah she loves me so. You know, if anything in that place actually worked other than me I'd be more than willing to cough up the dough.

"Well, anyway that's the message."

"Thanks Mick. Looks like I'll be moving into my office for awhile until someone either dies or gets in trouble and needs someone fairly inexpensive and reliable."

"Reliable," said Mickey with a teasing smirk "Aren't you a lawyer?"

"Okay, inexpensive then," conceded the black wolf.

Vincent looked across at the bartender, "So down to business."

"The usual?"

Vincent nodded, "Yeah, cheapest bourbon, scotch and beer you have."

"Take it easy this time Vince. I don't want you getting into an accident."

"Thanks dad," said Vincent jokingly, "But you see I'm still on the same liver and I'm looking to upgrade as soon as possible."

Mickey poured him the drinks and Vincent downed the bourbon and scotch quickly and nursed the beer as he looked around the bar. Even with the ceiling fans going and the lights dim the place was still warm. As his blue eyes drifted over to the far end of the bar Vincent saw a girl he'd never seen before his gaze settling on her.

She was a puma her long brown hair arranged just so, framing her face in a way that harkened back to a time when women were both sensual and sexual without having to try too hard. Around her neck was a black choker and the short black cocktail dress covered her just well enough to leave some to imagination yet, while revealing what promise might be in store for the lucky guy who would have her, even if for just a night.

Vincent swallowed hard on his beer putting the bottle on the bar before waving Mickey over. As the old rat walked up to him Vincent pointed discretely in her direction, "You've been holding out on me. Who is that?"

Mickey smirked, "That right there is Mocha. She's out of your league. Cripes, she's out of everyone's league in this joint. You know thirty years and forty pounds ago I probably could have got her, now though, I just serve the drinks."

Vincent smiled as she looked in his direction her amber eyes catching his for an instant before they fixed on something else. "I'm going to talk with her Mick."

Mickey snorted, "Good luck with that. She came here with a guy and kicked him to the curb once he thought he could get more than she was willing to give."

"It's just talk Mickey, if nothing happens, nothing happens. But, who knows right?"

Mickey just shrugged as Vincent walked across the bar towards her. "Nice night," said the black wolf.

"It was until my company turned out to be all hands. Then you show up from across a crowded bar."

"Kismet?"

"Maybe a little bit of beer courage on your part," she said with a smile, "But I'm doing okay right now I'm not looking to meet any strange guys."

"Well that makes two of us," said the wolf smiling back.

The puma chuckled, "Well, my name is Mocha and yours is?"

"Vincent. Vincent Wolfe, attorney at law."

"Oh I'm sorry to hear that."

"Why's that?"

"Well, it's not exactly the most noble of professions is it?"

Vincent shrugged a bit sighing, "Well a guy has to make a living right?"

"How good of an attorney are you?"

"My clients, what few there are, have been satisfied with the results."

"Is that so?"

Vincent sighed a bit and Mocha grabbed his arm gently, "I'm an actress and a model and for what it's worth it can be a tough but, rewarding job too."

The black wolf smiled and leaned against the bar, "For you, I doubt you have much trouble at all. I mean, you seem like you can take care of yourself and honestly I have no doubt that you are capable of finding the work you want."

Mocha smiled again, "Thank you. You're very sweet. Vincent right?"

Vincent nodded, "You got it."

"Well Vincent, it's been a pleasure meeting you, but I think I'm going to call it a night. I do have an early morning."

"I see well," said Vincent reaching in and pulling out his business card, "In case you want to get a hold of me for any reason, I can be reached there."

Mocha took the card and put it in her purse, "Again thank you, I'll see you around." With that Mocha walked out of the bar Vincent's eyes following her the entire way.

"Yeah see you around," said the dark wolf sighing having heard that a few times before from clients who never called back.

"Tough break kid," said Mickey coming over to him.

"Yeah well like you said, she's out of my league right?"

"Yeah, and don't worry about paying tonight. It's on me."

"Thanks Mick. I appreciate it."

Vincent left Kailua Joe's and sat in his car staring out at the cloudless night from the parking lot. The moon was large and full and the air was starting to cool off. As Vincent started his car he decided he'd drive along the coast for a bit and enjoy it.

As the cool air through the car again Vincent cursed himself for not closing the deal with Mocha. She was beautiful and could handle herself; she was definitely one in a million and he'd blown it. Vincent sighed to himself as he tried the radio again getting nothing. As he gazed ahead he saw some hazard lights flashing in the distance.

Vincent slowed down to see if whoever it was needed help. While he didn't have a cel phone he could at least change a tire or take the driver someplace safe to get help. As he pulled up on the car, a brand new Red BMW he saw that three of the tires appeared to be missing.

He got out of his car and hurried to the driver who still sat in the car clutching the wheel. Vincent could see it was a woman from behind. As he got to the driver side door of the car, much to his surprise it was Mocha. "What happened?"

"Vincent," asked the shaken up puma.

"In the flesh. What happened?"

He opened the door for her and helped her out of the car. "I just had new tires put on her today," said Mocha shaking the adrenaline still pumping through her veins.

"Are you okay? No cuts, bruises, severed limbs anything like that?"

"No, no I'm okay just, I mean, I could have died."

"Yeah no kidding," said the wolf putting his arm around her and holding her close, "Do you have a cel phone?"

"I left it at home. Do you?"

"No," sighed Vincent, "Look I can take you some place safe, a drugstore or something."

"Take me home," said Mocha wrapping her arms around him, "Just take me home."

Vincent nodded and muttered an okay as he took her to his car. At first she looked at the old 88 with some worry until he said, "It's not the looks of the car, it's the fact that it runs. Come on let's go."

Mocha guided them to where she was staying, a large mansion located on Tybalt Island. Vincent whistled as he pulled up in front of the large marble porch parking his car and gazing at a house fit for a president. "You own this," he asked dumbfounded.

"No, I'm renting it with a girlfriend of mine for the summer. We figured that it would be nice to actually live in the lap of luxury for awhile."

"You don't normally?"

"Well, it's colder up where I live and while I do quite well, I don't have a beach... mansion."

They entered the mansion the large white marble staircase and entry way made Vincent secretly gasp. He felt uncomfortable being in such a nice home but masked it as well as he could while Mocha called someone to tow the car. After she was done she smiled and wrapped her arms around him.

"My knight in a rusted Delta 88."

Vincent blushed a bit at first and hugged her back. As he held her he gently rubbed her back as he inhaled her sweet scent, "I'm just glad you're okay."

She sighed softly and gently pushed herself away from him. "How much, for a retainer?"

"Excuse me?"

"How much will it cost for me to retain your services?"

Vincent paused for a moment as the intoxicating aroma left his mind, his blood taking the long way around to get back to his brain. "Oh," he finally said, "Five hundred dollars would do it."

"That's not much."

"Well, we can figure something out later as far as my hourly fees go," said Vincent sighing a bit trying to keep his mind focused.

"Good well then I guess it's goodnight," she said gently caressing his chest causing his flesh to come alive with excitement, "Right?"

"It doesn't have to be," said Vincent slowly taking into consideration what he was doing.

"Oh," she said an easy smile crossing her lips as she slowly swayed her hips taking half a step to him, "Then what does my knight and lawyer have in mind?"

Vincent didn't say a word and closed the distance between the two of them. His lips pressed to her, kissing her firmly the kiss slowly deepening as their bodies pressed together. Slowly, as the kiss broke Mocha nipped his lower lip and smiled, "I like the way you think."

As Vincent leaned in to kiss her again she pushed back gently purring, "Not here you beast, let's go to my room."

Vincent smiled, "I like the way you think too."

"I knew you would."

They ran up the stairs Vincent close behind her. As Mocha made a left towards two large doors one of her heels broke as she toppled forward Vincent caught her and held her up. "Careful, now. Is this the one?" She nodded.

Vincent lifted her up and carried her to the doors. As he gazed into her amber eyes he could feel his heart pounding like a drum. He nudged the door open as best as he could and entered the plush purple and white bedroom of Mocha. As he laid her on the bed she wrapper her arms around him kissing him deeply, her tongue exploring his muzzle as he huffed pulling his shirt off before caressing her sides.

Mocha smiled fingering his chest as he leaned into kiss her again. As they kissed harder, more passionately the small spark between them was growing in strength and intensity. His hand clutched her sides as he took hold of her dress unzipping the back quickly as she slid out of it before tossing her shoes aside.

Vincent grinned like an idiot staring at the lithe, powerful yet beautiful curves of Mocha, amazed at how ever part of her could be both firm and soft at the same time. As he gazed he slowly started to undo his pants. "No, Vince, let me, " Mocha whispered.

Mocha sat up kneeling on the bed as she slowly undid his khakis, letting them fall to the floor her fingers gently caressing his lupine length that lay hidden behind the dark blue boxer shorts. Vincent closed his eyes ever so slightly as he could feel his need for her building.

She smiled up at him and slid his boxers off and gently massaged his length and sac as he rumbled softly to her. "Oh honey," said Mocha, "I haven't even done anything yet." As she said this she slowly ran her tongue over the tip of his shaft, swirling it around gently. Vincent huffed, as her tongue tickled his length.

Mocha purred as her lips slowly wrapped around his length. Her tongue continued to caress his sensitive underside as she slowly bobbed over the thick lupine flesh. Vincent's eyes closed and he gasped moaning softly her hand gently massaging over his hips and orbs as he huffed holding her shoulders and head lost in a sea of bliss, his length throbbing in her tight, warm muzzle.

As he groaned he slowly pulled away from her, his long, hard shaft bobbing in front of her. "Something wrong," she asked.

"Not at all," he said smiling and crawling over her, kissing his way from her tummy to her breasts. She gasped loudly as he rubbed her inner thigh slowly and nipped one of her nipples sucking it, as his paw slowly moved from her inner thigh to her sex.

His lips again travelled upwards as he kissed and sucked on her neck and shoulder slowly grinding against her as his fingers massaged her clit insistently. She gasped and groaned loudly raking her nails along his back as he huffed over top of her. Mocha then squeezed his fingers as they began to probe within her walls as one of her arms reached down and pushed the invading fingers away.

"No more foreplay. I want you now!"

Vincent grinned and readjusted his position lining his sex up with hers. As he rocked his hips forward he kissed her lips deeply his tongue caressing hers as he entered her with a firm thrust followed by another and another. They both gasped as he wrapped his arms around her and she squeezed her sex around his.

Mocha rocked back her breasts pressing against his chest as her legs squeezed his. She moaned loudly pulling away from his kiss and biting his neck as he huffed in her ear his hips grinding harder and faster against her tawny fur. Vincent moaned feeling his body tensing as he redoubled his efforts.

Mocha rocked back arching her chest to the ceiling. She was close and she knew it. "Don't stop! Oh God, don't stop baby I'm close!"

Vincent grunted and nodded as the sheen of sweat coated his fur as he bucked into her growling ferally, "Me too baby! Me too!"

As they ground against each other the flames of their desire consumed them both. Mocha yowled, her orgasm racking her body, her sex clenching Vincent's length like a vice. "Oh God Vince!"

As she clamped about him he arched forward howling as he sprayed his thick lupine load deep within her sex. The sounds of their climax echoed throughout the bed room as they continued to thrust and grind until they collapsed on to the bed panting.

Vincent softly caressed Mocha's cheek before pulling her to him. Mocha and Vincent wrapped around each other, holding themselves closely to one another as they cuddled panting. "That was, Mocha you're amazing."

Mocha smiled, "You're not so bad yourself hon."

Vincent kissed her kips softly, "You can retain me anytime for as long as you want."

The puma giggled, "Oh, I think that can be arranged."
