It had been a few days since Vadim dyed his fur, and he was set to have dinner and speak with another arctic fox that night. He was excited, the last time he spoke with one was the day of the massacre and he never thought he would speak to one again. James had asked the family to dress nice for the occasion, to show respects to their guest of the evening. He had asked earlier to borrow a dress shirt, tie, and slacks from Sig, who happily agreed. The two foxes were in Sig's room getting dressed and preparing for the evening. Sig watched Vadim tie a perfect Double-Windsor knot on his tie, and let out an audible sigh as he looked down at his failure of an attempt at tying one.

"Vaddy, how do you tie a tie?" Sig asked as he gave Vadim a perplexed look.

"Well, I'll truly show you another day, but as of right now just give it to me." Sig handed him the tie, and after a minute Vadim had it done. He handed the tie back to Sig, who loosened it and put it around the collar of his blue dress shirt. After a little adjusting, Sig had a blue dress shirt with a red tie and black pants, and Vadim had a red dress shirt with a blue tie and black pants. The two walked in to the dining area just as there was a knock on the door.

James, who was also dressed up, opened the door and let in a stunning grey fox in his mid thirties. Vadim couldn't believe how complex his fur was, thinking to himself that it must have taken hours to complete. Vadim couldn't help but admire his grey tail with the black stripe and tip. The new fox shook paws with James, who pointed him to Vadim. He walked up to Vadim and shook his paw.

"Pleasure to meet you, you must be Vadim. My name is Ilari Khavin."

Vadim smiled, not hearing a name from his home country in years. "Yes Ilari, I am Vadim Sosnovka. Shall we sit down and talk a little more?"

"That would be splendid." Sig was already at the table as Vadim and Ilari sat down. The house smelled of delicious chicken as Carol cooked, and Vadim couldn't wait until it was ready.

"I must ask, Ilari. How did you do such a fine job on your coat?" Vadim asked as he admired his fur a bit more.

"Well, my sister was a professional fur specialist. She used to dye my fur to look like this every few months, which is one of the reasons I survived the... Well, you know." Both foxes went silent for a second and looked around the room. "Of course, my name was a dead giveaway, so I changed that to Jimmy Fields."

"I know how that is, I changed my name to Addan Miller. Although I've been under the radar up until last week, so nobody knew who I was." Sig, who was sitting next to Vadim, lightly grabbed Vadim's knee and squeezed a little.

"That's good, fake names help a lot in this day and age for us. Anyways, my sister taught me how to dye my fur. I haven't seen her since the... Bad day. But I'm sure she is ok, because she talked about leaving this place if anything bad ever happened. She knew the way out of here, but nobody knows how she knew. I guess it's' our cities best kept secret haha."

Vadim pondered about this for a little bit before replying. "Hmm... A secret way out you say?"

"Yes, although nobody knows what she was talking about. I had tried to call her, when cell phones were legal of course, to ask if she was ok. She answered, but only briefly saying she was going to be ok and she was going to a place with no service. Not long afterwards all cell phones were shut down. So what's your story?"

Vadim contained his drool as Carol finished dinner and brought it to the table. "I'm actually the son of the ambassador of our homeland."

Ilari facepawed himself as he exclaimed: "Of course! That last name, I should have known. He was ambassador for Kybera for five years before the betrayal, right?"

"Yes, that is right." Vadim said with a smile.

"You're father was a good male. He knew the ties between our country and this one weren't the best, but he was doing everything in his power to make things better. I guess our leader didn't think it was enough."

"Is... That why he betrayed us all?" Vadim got a sad look on his face as he said this.

"Yes Vadim, our leader knew about what our country did to this one many years ago. But he couldn't let it go, he killed us to avenge this country. He won't admit it, but it's the truth."

The rest of the family sat down as Vadim took in everything. "That's just... Too sad. We'll talk a little more after dinner. I'm starving right now."

As the five foxes ate their chicken dinner, Vadim debated whether or not he should tell Ilari about the plans he and Sig made a few nights before. On the plus side, he could help them out tremendously. But at the same time, if he told authorities then it would be game over for him and Sig. But Vadim knew better, this guy was on his side, he knew he could trust him. Vadim finished off his chicken after Ilari did, and licked his fingers clean.

"Ilari, would you mind if we took a short walk together?" Vadim had been anxious for a little bit about this.

"Of course." The fox said with a smile. The two vacated the apartment and went in to the elevator. Vadim pushed the button to head to the ground floor as Ilari broke the silence.

"So what is it you wanted, young one?"

"Sig and I are not going to stand around as our leader does these things. We are going to do something about it."

Ilari perked his ears straight up. "I'm all ears."

"We are planning on starting a revolution, by slowly taking out military and police officials to show how weak they can be. We hope it sends a message to not be pushed down by our leader, and hopefully our people will revolt." The elevator hit the ground floor, and Vadim was about to step out before the fox stopped him.

"Wait. I was hoping you would say this, so I brought some things in my car for you two." He pushed the button that said 'Garage' on the elevator and they headed down another floor. "If you are a true Sosnovka, then you know how to fight, right?" The elevator opened and they stepped in to a multi-level garage complex. Ilari pulled out his keys and pressed the unlock button, and a car flashed six spaces away from them.

"Yes, of course I do." Vadim became giddy with anticipation as Ilari opened his trunk and pulled out a large black duffle bag.

"Good. In here I have several weapons. Unfortunately, they are not modern firearms. But they are silent killers; like swords, daggers, a small bow, and etcetera. Of course, you can't open this here, but check them out later. Also, I have this." Ilari pulled out another big duffle bag that was camouflage colored.

"This bag is full of different clothes I have acquired over the years, from camo to trench coats and other clothes. There are also a few ghillie suits in small bags in there, but they won't be necessary until you get firearms. Which reminds me, every one of the personnel that you take out, make sure to grab their firearms and whatever gear you can. You won't be able to use them safely unless you find a way out of the city. And you make sure you tell me if you do. I want to help more, but I need to keep a low profile and stick with my job. If I quit randomly, it could lead someone on."

Vadim sat there for a second, completely shocked at what happened. "I'm... I'm lost for words. This is more than enough help. How will I get this inside though?"

"Just tell them I gave you some stuff from our homeland. They won't question, I've known them for years. Now let's get back up there before we raise any suspicions."

Vadim got a big smile on his face as they walked towards the elevator. "If I find a way out of here, you will be one of the first furs I tell."

When the two foxes entered the apartment, the family was eating dessert. James looked at the two bags Vadim was holding and questioned him.

"What do you have there, Vadim?"

Vadim smiled at him coyly. "Just some stuff from the motherland. I'll be right back." Sig got up and followed him to his room as James continued to eat his dessert. As usual, Carol was giving Vadim her expressionless stare. After Vadim dropped off the stuff in his closet, he turned around to have Sig in his face.

"Whatcha got there, cutie?" Vadim giggled and smiled at the question.

"Well, it's a big help to our plan. I'll show you later though, we need to get back out there and wait until Ilari leaves."

After another hour of talking with the family and Ilari, it came time for Ilari to go home. He said his goodbyes, and finally Sig and Vadim could get some alone time. The pair went in to Vadim's room and shut the door behind them, then grabbed the black duffle bag. He opened the large zipper to reveal several weapons. The first one he pulled out was a fighting knife with a leather handle, and on the blade above the handle it said 'Ka-Bar'. The blade was about 7 inches long, and the whole knife looked like it had barely been used. The next thing he pulled out was a dagger, it looked pretty old but it was still in good condition. There were several other blades inside along with the bow and a few arrows that were mentioned.

"Well Sig, it's a start. Let's move on to the other bag, it has a lot of clothes and other gear inside of it." Vadim opened the next bag, and there were several sets of digital camouflage, in all sorts of colors. There were also four ghillie suits, still in the small bags they came in, and some dark clothing. At the bottom there were a few small backpacks and a couple of vests for more gear.

"Vadim, this is perfect. So when do we start?" Vadim nuzzled Sig a little and put his arm around him.

"I'm hoping this weekend, I'll train you how to use a blade before then, but you can just give me back up for the first couple of missions. The next few nights I will recon the area and see how the patrols of the police are and such. We'll start out small, and work our way up from there. But one thing to remember, either kill or be killed. We are doing this to save the lives of the innocent."

"Yes Vadim, I am aware. Did he say where he got all of this stuff from?" Sig tilted his head at Vadim.

"He never did, but he mentioned that his sister escaped the city somehow, we need to find out how. Oh, and also, he said to get as much gear as possible from any fur that we take out. And if we find a firearm, to not use it until we find a way out of the city. But, if my life depends on it, I will use it."

Sig yawned before responding. "Ok, I wonder how she escaped? We'll talk more about it tomorrow though, I need sleep for school."

"I'm feeling quite tired myself, goodnight Sig."

The two foxes gave each other a tight, warm hug. "Good night Vaddy."
