Silnis

...

Silnis

*****

"Thanks for everything today Markus, it was the most fun that I've had in years!" I thanked him as we pulled up in front of my house.

"It was my pleasure. After all, I'd do anything for you, my sweet and sexy wolf," Markus said, nipping at my neck playfully. I giggled before giving him a peck on the cheek, stepping out of the car.

"You got my phone number?" I asked, making sure just in case I got bored and wanted to talk to him.

"Yeah, you got mine?" he asked back. I gave him a nod before waving bye as he drove down the road. I sighed contently as I went inside, my mom bombarding me with questions as soon I stepped inside.

"Did you two have fun? Where did you two go? You've got to tell me everything!" she asked, Aaron mouthing that she was crazy. I couldn't help but chuckle as I told my mom everything that we did today, from going to Jagged Mountain to dinner at Star's Place.

"It was amazing mom! I could tell he really loved me and I love him too!" I told her, squealing with her.

"Oh, honey, I'm so happy for you! It looks like all you needed was a little love, that's all!" she said, giving me a hug.

"I know...I guess that was all that I really needed...love," I said to myself, smiling as I thought about Markus' words from before.

"I love you and always will, I promise you," He really did love me to make a promise like that. I guess he really was my soulmate, the one that I've been dreaming of lately. He was so nice, so loving, and always looking out for me. Where had he been all my life?

"You get to bed now sweetie, I'm sure you're exhausted from everything you two did today," my mom suggested.

"Yeah, I am pretty tired," I agreed, heading upstairs to my room as I plopped down in bed. Suddenly, my cellphone vibrated, flipping it out to see who texted me.

"luv u ;D" it read, knowing who it was.

"luv u 2" I typed back, getting a cute response back.

"luv u more"

"luv u better than Azn food" I typed, chuckling.

"rly?" he asked, making me laugh.

"no, still luv Azn food better" I teased.

"fair enough" he typed back.

"tomorrow's Sunday, u got anything planned for us?" I asked, wondering what we would do tomorrow.

"want 2 come over n meet my parents?" he asked.

"sure, I want to meet them" I said.

"great, see you tomorrow darling, luv u"

"luv u 2" I typed, about to go to sleep when Markus messaged me again.

"what's ur birthstone?" he asked, confused at the question.

"ruby, why u ask?"

"just wondering, sweet dreams darling" I just shrugged and stripped off my jeans and shirt, sleeping in my briefs. I soon drifted off to sleep, dreams about me and Markus in the far future with rings in both of our fingers. I saw us living together in a small house in a small neighborhood, the both of us happy of where we lived. Markus was the one working while I was the one doing all the cooking and cleaning, the both of us always happy to see each other after a day of hard work. I smiled in my sleep as the dream progressed, showing our happy life together.

Markus

*****

I got up as early as possible so I could pick Silnis up from his house. It was Sunday and we both agreed that he should meet my parents, since I've already met his family. I drove to his house and knocked on the door, being greeted by a sleepy eyed Silnis wearing a blue bath robe.

"Markus...what are doing here so early? It's only 6:43am...," he grumbled, yawning as he leaned against the door frame.

"Didn't you want to meet my parents?" I asked.

"Sure I do, but I doubt they're awake. Heck, even my whole family isn't awake yet," Silnis said, rubbing his eyes.

"Oh yeah, I guess I was just so excited for you to meet my parents that I forgot that they slept in on weekends. Well...I'm sorry if I bothered you. I'll see you in a few more hours," I apologized, excusing myself just as Silnis grabbed my hand and pulled me into his house.

"Since you're already here, and woke me up, you can make yourself at home. You want anything to eat?" he asked, shuffling towards the kitchen.

"Anything you can make would be good," I told him, plopping down on the living room couch. I heard the clanging of pots and pans as Silnis muttered to himself, turning on the stove and grabbing something from the fridge. I was bored sitting here by myself, so I walked over to the kitchen and saw Silnis in front of the stove, cooking what smelled like pancakes, bacon, and eggs.

"That smells so good," I complimented, standing behind him as I watched him cook three things at once. I had my arms around him, nipping at his neck as he murred and giggled.

"Stop that...I can't cook while you're doing that to me," he said, flipping over a pancake and stirring the bacon.

"You so talented, you know. You can sing like an angel and cook like a pro chef," I complimented him, giving him an affectionate lick.

"Thanks, but I wouldn't say all those things about me. I sing well, but not like an angel, and I might cook well, but not like a pro," he corrected, turning his head to give me a kiss. "Oh, by the way, I had a dream about us last night,"

"Really, what was it about?" I asked, curious to know what went on in his dream world.

"Well, we were married and lived in this cute small house in a small neighborhood. You had a job and worked while I stayed at home and cooked and cleaned, you being the man while I was the woman. Anyways, we looked so happy together, you coming home every day and greeting me with a kiss. It was like a perfect world for us, a place where nothing ever went wrong and everything was all sunshine and rainbows," he told me.

"Sunshine and rainbows?" I questioned, chuckling.

"What? I think it sounds nice that way," he defended, plating the food. "Okay, you can eat while I go and get changed," He gave me a swift kiss before heading upstairs, me catching a glance of him taking off his robe before disappearing into his room. Grabbing a plate, I sat down at the table and started eating, finding that it was delicious. I was about half-way done with my plate when Silnis walked down wearing a blue polo shirt and jeans. He grabbed his plate and was busy scarfing it down while I just sat and watched him eat, chuckling as he ate half a pancake in one bite.

"Take it easy Silnis, we've got plenty of time to kill before we have to meet my parents," I reassured, making sure he wasn't going to choke in anything while on a rush.

"Who says I'm rushing? This is how I normally eat," he said, wiping his mouth as he dropped his plate in the sink. "Do you want to go on a walk around town before going to your place?"

"Sure, why not," I agreed, taking his hand as I led him out the door.

Luke

*****

I had a bouquet of carnations in my hands as I walked down to Silnis' house, a big grin on my face as I hoped that today would be the day when Silnis would finally forgive me and come back with me. I was nearing his house when I saw that wolf, Markus, coming out of Silnis' house with him behind. They were holding hands and Silnis was giggling, a sound that I haven't heard in a long time. I just stood frozen as I saw Silnis jump on Markus' back, playfully laughing as Markus piggybacked him. I couldn't believe it, they were...together. I was about to turn around and run when I heard Silnis call my name, though it wasn't the usual angry tone he would normally use on me.

"Luke...what are you doing here?" he asked, walking over to me. I didn't know what to say so I just held out the flowers to him, getting a small giggle as he thanked me and took them, his hands touching mine for only a second. This was...weird. He wouldn't act this way around me before. Did he...change?

"You're welcome...Silnis," I said, Markus standing defensively behind him. He didn't look angry, just stern and watchful.

"So, what are doing here?" Silnis asked again, giving me a small smile. My face grew hot when I saw his smile...so cute...just like I remembered.

"I was going to come visit you when I saw you two come outside, though I was expecting you to start yelling and throwing stuff at me...," I explained, starting to turn to walk away when Silnis grabbed my hand.

"Wait...I want to say something to you Luke," I heard him say, turning my attention back to him.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Well...I've been thinking a lot about this but...I think I need to stop acting like such a jerk to you and forgive you," he said, looking right into my eyes.

"R...really!? So...does this mean we can together again?!" I asked, getting my hopes up.

"No...I'm sorry Luke, but we can at least be friends. I may have forgiven you for cheating on me, but I can't come back to you. All this time I was blinded with such anger and hate for you that I just couldn't be near you, but now I've changed and I see how much of a jerk I was to you, always yelling and telling you to stay away from me. Now I'm asking you, would you forgive me for being the insensitive jerk that I was to you?" he said, bowing his head as he waited for my answer. I thought about what he said. He couldn't come back to me, but he wants us to be friends. He apologized for being insensitive of my feelings and being a jerk. He even wanted me to forgive him for being those things, things that never suited him in the first place. I pondered my choices before looking at Silnis, giving him a smile on my own before pulling him in for a hug.

"Yes, I forgive you," I said, hearing him give a content sigh before hugging me back.

"I'm glad," he said, giving me a peck on the cheek.

"We may not be together anymore, but being your friend is good enough for me," I said, "What made you change your mind anyways?"

"Well...a certain someone gave me back the fire that I needed to realize that maybe I can have a good life, with him and my friends," Silnis told me, stepping back into Markus' arms as he nuzzled him affectionately. I didn't feel a bit jealous that Silnis had found someone else, but maybe I just wasn't meant for him. Maybe we were only meant to be friends this whole time.

"Hey, Markus, take care of him for me, and if you need any ideas then just give me a ring. I'll gladly tell you everything you need to know about him," I said, getting a nod from him as I turned to leave. Silnis, I'm glad you found someone else who can make you happier than I could.
