Fiery Twilight Chapter 1
THUNK!
Twilight Sparkle, Ponyville's resident bookworm, was jarred awake by the sound of something hitting the roof. She sighed and walked out onto the balcony, already going on her first guess. "Are you alright up there, Rainbow Dash? It sounded like you had a hard landing up there." Her voice was tinged with irritation, understandable considering that someone's crash landing interrupted her sleep.
She was shocked, however, when she found that the voice belonged to a colt, instead of her daredevil friend, who seemed to have a penchant for crashing into the library.
"First of all, who is this Rainbow Dash? Second, could you help me out a little? i seem to be stuck, and levitation spells were never my strong spot." The colt then grunted as he tried to free himself from his current predicament. Twilight popped up to where the colt was. What she saw made her burst out laughing.
The poor unicorn colt had essentially become an equine dart. His horn was currently lodged in the roof of the library, and remained there despite the owner's best efforts to remove it. This resulted in the colt's head forced against the roof and his hooves in the air. After she got the laughter out of her system, she help the colt get his horn unstuck, and managed to get a good look at him. His mane, as well as his tail, seemed to be made out of fire.
The colt snapped her back to reality when he spoke up. "My name is Firebolt. May i ask where i am?"
Twilight looked at him, slightly dumbfounded. "You are in Ponyville, Firebolt, and more specifically on the roof of the library, and my current residence. Also, are your mane and tail made of what i think they are?"
The colt nodded as he replied, "Yep, it's fire, caused by a rare genetic mutation. Apparently it also boosts my resistance to heat, which is really beneficial to my metalworking job." Firebolt smiled as he saw Twilight's eyes light up,. "You seam like a smart filly. wanna help me study the mutation?"
He never got a spoken answer. Instead, Twilight used her teleportation spell to bring him down to the lab to start her studies on this fascinating colt.
