Chapter One

Blood sprayed down, shimmering like rubies in the sun. The crimson life stained the snow, turning white to scarlet and pure into tainted. There was a last bellow of pain before the heavy body thudded to the ground, its weight scattering the snow and tainting it more.

The dark figure stood and turned to the sprawled one.

Brilliant silver met heated gold and a hush spread throughout the forest.

Liolyn slowly shrunk back, his eyes never leaving the wolf demon. His tail curled up between his legs as he slightly cowered. The wolf had just taken down one of the most dangerous prey known to demons without breaking a sweat.

The silver eyes narrowed threateningly and Liolyn bit his lip, remembering the war between his clan and the wolves. They didn't exactly end on good terms two hundred years ago.

The Tigress Clan was a race of big cat demons, such as jaguars, leopards, panthers, and tigers. They were well known for their unparallel agility but even more for their sexcapades. They would sleep with anyone, male or female. They didn't care as long as they got theirs. The southern lands were a place to be feared during mating season.

The Fang Tribe was a race of wolf demons. They were known for their speed and violent, 'show no mercy', behavior. The wolves were territorial and no other demons, the few who were desperate enough to even try, were allowed to settle within the high, rocky mountains of the north. Strangers were not welcome and seldom left in one piece, if not at all.

The war had been long and bloody, the wolves leaving the southern lands in defeat with over half their race dead.

Liolyn shivered, the snow seeping into his thin clothes. He must look pitiful, lying there on his back, shivering. He cursed his curiosity. He had traveled so far north in hopes of seeing a wolf demon.

And he finally found one after months of searching and now he wished he hadn't.

Five minutes earlier...

Liolyn leapt to a high branch of a tree, hoping to escape the freezing snow. He shook his sandy hair, getting the snow out of it. He shivered, glad for the first time in his life that fur lined his ears. They were big and pointed as the end, showing that he was cat demon (besides his obvious cat tail). He started to wish he was covered in fur, instead of just having it on his ears and tail, as snow began to gently fall from the sky.

He was glad it wasn't another blizzard. He almost died in the last one.

He leapt to another branch, landing on all fours, before leaping to the next. He was getting pretty sick and tired of wondering aimlessly around a stupid mountain side in six or more feet of freezing cold snow.

He sniffed sadly. He couldn't feel his tail anymore.

Snow shifted and fell from the pine needles as the cat demon's weight shook the branch. He paused, rubbing his hands together one more time. His feet had lost feeling hours ago but he wasn't going to take off his shoes to rub them. They were the only dry part of his body and they were going to stay that way, damn it!

He yelped as a flash of black below him almost unbalanced him. He saved it by hopping on a low branch, one hand gripping the branch between his feet as the other rested on his knee.

He looked around for the source of his previous balance blunder. Golden eyes scanned the snow below him, finding nothing suspicious or obvious. His eyes locked on a slightly different color of snow.

He slowly prowled out on the branch, keeping low to it. His eyes narrowed as he started to make out a shape before he got near the edge of the branch and saw a patch of black.

He blinked a few times, cat eyes dilating and contracting before making out the shape.

"Holy shit."

A few yards away from Liolyn was the most gorgeous man the cat demon had ever laid eyes upon. Hair that was jet black with brown tips hung messily over his face obstructed Liolyn's view of it. The man was stretched out low on the ground, muscles flexing as he supported his weight on his splayed fingers and balls of his feet. Liolyn's eyes traveled down his body, taking everything in. He wore nothing on his arms but furred writs bands and his shirt was made of white rabbit fur as well of his pants (which disappointed the horny cat because he couldn't get a good look at his probably perfectly sculpted ass).

The wolf demon's biceps flexed as he shrunk down closer to the ground. He made absolutely no sound as he rolled his shoulders slightly, every muscle in his body tensing.

Liolyn felt himself tense as he moved closer to end of the branch so he could get a clearer look at the wolf.

He heard a snap of a twig and immediately dropped close to the branch.

And then he saw it.

Steam rose from its snout as it gave a snort. It walked into the small clearing, hooves slightly sinking into the soft snow. Big, blood red eyes were half closed in contentment as it walked towards one of the trees, its huge antlers catching and breaking off low hanging branches.

Liolyn's eyes went wide and he had the urge to flee. He had never seen an elk demon that big before. It scared the shit out of him.

Elk demons were big, sturdy, and knew how to kill. They weren't like normal elks. No. These creatures' hooves could crush rocks into pebbles and antlers rip trees out of the ground. The back of its teeth were herbivorous like regular elks but its front here two inch long, razor sharp fangs. They could rip off an arm easily.

Liolyn started to back away down the branch, hoping to escape before the elk demon noticed him but froze. The wolf was prowling towards it.

He found himself unable to move, his curiosity overriding his danger senses. He wanted to know how this turned out.

The wolf sunk lower to the ground, body tense and ready for anything.

The elk shook its head to rid itself of the branches caught on its antlers and raised its head to eat the leaves from the branches, exposing its neck.

Liolyn felt a shiver a terror course through his body as the fangs ripped off branches. He'd seen what an aggravated elk demon could do and he didn't want a personal experience of it.

The demon snorted angrily as it saw large, tasty leaves higher up. It hopped a little, its front hooves making indents in the snow. It snorted again and stomped hard before rising on its hind legs, it haunches flexing and rippling. That made Liolyn's mouth water. They were dangerous but so goddamn tasty.

It stretched its body up and grabbed its prize.

There was a flash and bellow of agony and furry as the elks hooves hammered back down, its stomach split open and pouring blood. Powdered snow rained down in an arc as the wolf demon spun and skidded to a crouch a few yard from it, fangs bared, one arm braced on the ground for balance as his other was raised, dripping blood.

The elk's eyes went wide and feral as it tossed its head from side to side, antlers ripping down branches.

Liolyn no longer felt safe.

The wolf growled, slowly circling the weakened animal in his crouch. The elk followed his circle, more than blood starting to slip from its wound.

He jumped towards it before sliding back as the elk swung its head down, its antlers clearing the area before it. The wolf snarled as the elk exposed its neck and lunged toward it.

The wolf's eyes went wide as the elk raised on its hind legs and kicked down at him.

He dodged quickly but not fast enough. He snarled in pain as the elk's hooves grazed his arm, ripping off the skin there.

He rolled back as the elk stomped down where he was, snow showering down on him. The white powder momentarily blinded him and he nearly missed the deadly hooves going straight for his face.

Liolyn leaned forward on the branch, torn between his fear and sense of duty to help the wolf, as the elk tried to crush the wolf again.

Crrrkrch-chhk...

Liolyn's blinked. "Oh shIT!"

The branch broke and he fell to the ground in a mess of branches and needles.

The elk snorted and turned to look at the new threat.

Liolyn quickly got up in a crouch, shrinking back as he realized he's been found out. The elk bellowed angrily and thrashed its head to the side.

Liolyn gulped. This didn't look good for his health. Both the elk and the wolf knew about him now. If he wasn't killed by the first then he'd get mauled by the second.

The wolf snarled and leapt up, fangs latching onto the juicy neck, claws tearing down the exposed muscle. He used up feet to push down the elks rising legs and kept it from rearing and throwing him off.

He growled, warm blood filling his mouth and he locked his jaw, refusing to release his hold as the elk thrash its head.

Very slowly, the elk started to slow, swaying from side to side. The wolf jerked his head slightly and tightened his jaw.

The elk gave a last bellow of pain and fell down, the wolf tearing his mouth away, taking the jugulars and esophagus with him. He spat out the arteries, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he panted.

Present...

Liolyn tried to stand but let out a mewl of pain and fell backwards. He had landed funny on his ankle when the branch broke.

He looked up almost pleadingly at the wolf. The wolf was staring at him, his expression unreadable but dark. Liolyn stayed perfectly still as those eyes inspected him, clawing at every contour of his body. He looked as non-threatening as he could as the inspection went to his face.

Grey eyes met gold and they narrowed. Liolyn gulped. He did not want to fight this demon in his food deprived and weakened state. He shivered from the cold and he knew he must look pathetic but he was scared. He couldn't take down an elk demon that big by himself but this demon did with barely any injuries.

Yep, he was going to get mauled.

He got lower to the ground, as non-threatening as he could, ready to bolt if the circumstances called for it.

Grey eyes made a quick recheck before turning his back on the cat, finding no immediate threat there.

Liolyn let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He watched as the wolf demon walked back to the elk and began to carefully skin the animal.

When he was done, he placed the pelt bloody side face down on the snow. He went back to the elk and began to devour it, sharp fangs tearing into the meat easily.

Liolyn whimpered as his stomach growled. He was so hungry and the elk looked so juicy and delicious. He was sitting now, hands on the snow as he begged. He didn't care anymore. Pride be damned. He made his eyes as big and adorable as he could, his tail wrapping around his body and curled at the end, bits of ice sticking to it.

Maybe the wolf would let him have the carcass.

The wolf continued to devour the elk, ignoring the begging kitten. He grunted, tugging on a particular hard piece of meat before ripping it off, gnawing at it as he glared at the squirming cat.

Liolyn gasped as a non-cold induced shivered ripped up his spine. For some reason, the wolf vicious devouring an animal was arousing.

The wolf's head snapped away from the cat. He snarled, leaning over his kill possessively as a smaller wolf demon prowled out from the bushes. The new one whimpered and eyed the food hungrily, white hair brushing over his starved eyes.

The black haired wolf growled threateningly deep in his throat, baring his fangs. The white one whispered. "Please, Kadell. The pack needs food."

Kadell growled deeper, eyes burning with threat, and the younger flinched visibly. "Please, Kadell... I-I'll..." The boy gulped, visibly shaking, as he moved his shirt off one pale shoulder, averting his eyes. "I'll do anything..."

Kadell glowered at him as the boy completely undid his shirt and spread his thighs, knees pushing the snow back. "Do you truly understand what you're offering me, Moku?"

Moku closed his eyes and bowed his head in submission, letting his shirt slide off his shoulders and down his arms.

Kadell ripped off a hind leg and tossed it over to the boy.

The boy's eyes lit up. "Thank you, Kad-"

"Come near me again and it will be you that is skinned and eaten."

The boy's eyes went wide with terror. Kadell's voice was so low and threatening it scared him. He grabbed the leg and sprinted off.

Kadell glared after him, making sure the boy was gone before turning back to the mess of broken branches. His eyes went wide in surprise when he discovered no begging cat demon. He looked around and sniffed the air but the blood of the elk was overwhelming all other senses. If Moku hadn't been so loud he wouldn't have caught him.

There was a snap and the cat flipped back into sight, landing in the same sitting position he was in before. He had hid in the tree when the other wolf had come. He shook his sandy hair, getting the snow out of it.

Kadell didn't miss the slight flinch the cat gave when he landed.

Kadell stared at him for a while before going back to his meal, eating a little more slowly now.

Liolyn's stomach growled again and he whimpered pathetically. So... much... food... He began to drool before he realized it and quickly wiped his mouth.

Kadell as much as he could and then some before standing and cleaning off the blood from his hands and face. Once he was done he walked away from it and to the pelt.

"If you don't want to starve, I suggest you eat now."

Liolyn jumped. He didn't expect to be allowed to eat this much of it. His eyes narrowed, suspicion etched in every contour of his body. Kadell turned towards him and let the cat inspect him like he had done to him before. Liolyn found everything violent, threatening, and harmful in his stance, look, and eyes.

How comforting.

But he found nothing that would suggest treachery and he slowly prowled towards the dead demon, never letting his guard down or his eyes off the wolf.

He reached the dead animal and slowly lowered his mouth to the meat. He took a small bite and his eyes fluttered shut and he groaned. It tasted so good. He soon started to ravish it, tearing off as much meat as he could and not bothering to chew. His instincts just took over and ate as much he could, as fast as he could. He was going to get sick but he didn't care. It was food, damn it!

"Leave the organs."

Liolyn looked up at the wolf.

"Just do it."

Liolyn nodded and went back to eating the elk demon, being careful not to touch the organs this time.

Kadell tore his eyes away from the starved cat and knelt by the pelt, flipping it over to look at the bloodied side. He took snow in his hand and started to rub it against it, cleaning off all the blood.

By the time he was done with his cleaning, the cat had finished his half of the elk and was purring contently, licking the blood off his claws. His long tongue wrapped around each digit before drawing it into his mouth and sucking on it as he slowly drew it out.

For some unknown reason Kadell was fascinated by the display. He realized that he was staring and forced his eyes away from the long tongue.

Kadell folded the pelt neatly and tossed it over his shoulder. He cast the cat demon one last look. It was shivering pathetically from the cold but still purring from its meal. The tail was nearly frozen, pieces of ice sticking to the fur, and wrapped around his body tightly.

Liolyn looked up as the wolf demon began to slowly walk away. He didn't know if it was the cold or the sight of such a fabulous ass that compelled him to follow but he did.
